Rebecca Crosby at Popular Information:
In recent months, major companies have publicly announced that they are abandoning their diversity efforts. In at least two cases, companies were pressured into taking action by right-wing extremist and conspiracy theorist Robby Starbuck. He has succeeded in influencing corporate behavior through his social media account despite embracing racist conspiracy theories, anti-LGBTQ bigotry, and other fringe views. Following his recent successes, Starbuck has promised that he is just getting started.
Starbuck, a filmmaker who unsuccessfully ran for Congress in 2022, initially targeted Tractor Supply, a publicly traded agricultural supply company. At the beginning of June, he announced to his 520,000 followers on X that “[i]t’s time to expose Tractor Supply.” Starbuck’s post, with a video accompanying it, alleged that the company provides “LGBTQIA+ training for employees” and funds “pride/drag events.” Starbuck also attacked the company for displaying “Pride month decorations in the office,” creating a “DEI [diversity, equality, and inclusion] Council,” and engaging in “DEI hiring practices.”  [...]
In late June, Tractor Supply announced that all roles pertaining to DEI would be eliminated, that all corporate DEI goals would be retired, and that it would no longer sponsor any “nonbusiness activities” such as pride events. The company also stated that it would no longer be submitting data to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the most prominent LGBTQ rights organization in the United States, for its Corporate Equality Index.  [...]
On July 10, Starbuck promoted the racist great replacement theory on X. “There’s no sugarcoating it,” Starbuck wrote. “Democrats want illegal immigrants to vote. It’s why they let them in.” The great replacement theory is the claim that Democrats are trying to “replace” white Americans with immigrants. The theory is baseless, but has proved popular among white supremacists, and has motivated multiple mass shootings. Starbuck acknowledges that he is promoting the great replacement theory, but argues that it is not actually racist. “You can’t call replacement theory racist when it’s literally out in the open now. I’m Latino and I’m telling you that the left in the west is trying to replace existing citizens (mostly white) with migrants from 3rd world countries,” Starbuck posted on X in February.
Starbuck also promoted wild claims about the purported dangers of the COVID-19 vaccine. In October 2023, following the death of actor Matthew Perry after years of struggling with drug addiction, Starbuck suggested Perry's death was actually caused by the COVID-19 vaccine. Perry was, according to Starbuck, “a big supporter of the COVID vaccines.” Starbuck called for an investigation of the COVID-19 vaccine “as a potential cause of any cardiac issues.” Starbuck has also shown support for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s anti-vaccine non-profit, Children’s Health Defense, calling it “fantastic” and saying it does “great work.”
Starbuck has also promoted "chemtrails," a conspiracy theory that "governments or other parties are engaged in a secret program to add toxic chemicals to the atmosphere," which he claims are part of a government effort to control the weather. In April, Starbuck wrote that major flooding in Dubai was not caused by “climate change” but was instead caused by “the use of weather modification” and “[c]loud seeding where chemicals are sprayed in clouds to create rain.” In response to the post, an X user commented, “Colloquially known as ‘chemtrails,’’’ to which Starbuck responded, “Correct.” According to scientists, “there is no evidence for the existence of chemtrails.” (While the UAE has attempted to use geoengineering to increase rainfall, it was not a contributing factor to the floods, according to experts.)
[...]
Starbuck was able to successfully pressure Tractor Supply without prompting any real scrutiny about his own extremist beliefs. Starbuck then repeated the process with farm equipment company Deere & Co., posting dozens of times about the company's diversity policies. On July 9, Starbuck criticized the company’s “LGBTQ & race based identity groups,” “total commitment to DEI policies,” and policy asking employees to list their “preferred pronouns.” Shortly after Starbuck began posting, the company announced it would be eliminating some of its diversity initiatives. Starbuck celebrated the partial win, but argued that the company should go further and eliminate all corporate diversity efforts.  Starbuck is now going after his next target. On July 23, Starbuck called for a boycott of Harley-Davidson on X, citing the company's hosting "LGBTQ+ events at the corporate office" and facilitating "LGBTQ+ & race based" affinity groups. Starbuck appears to be demanding that corporations not engage in any acknowledgment of LGBTQ employees or customers.  In an interview, Starbuck said “he and his researchers have identified 20 companies that could be ripe for a similar boycott.” Starbuck said that he “definitely proved a model” that involves targeting companies that appeal to a conservative clientele. In a post on X, Starbuck wrote, “DEI is poison and we won’t rest until the public knows how companies have strayed from American values.”
[...]
Starbuck’s anti-LGBTQ extremism
Earlier this year, Starbuck released a documentary called The War on Children. The documentary, which he created with his wife Landon Starbuck, centers around the idea that the LGBTQ movement is a sophisticated effort by the government, social media companies, and the medical community to corrupt and sexualize children. While promoting a trailer for the documentary, Starbuck said that the “war on children” is being waged by left-wing activists that “will stop at nothing to indoctrinate them, sexualize them, guilt them and punish them until they submit to their woke religion.”
Right-wing outrage farmer and anti-LGBTQ+ zealot Robby Starbuck is leading campaigns to remove Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies and LGBTQ+ protections at several conservative-coded businesses like Tractor Supply Co. and John Deere, and Starbuck was successful at two of those companies so far.
Starbuck has not only pushed anti-LGBTQ+ extremism, but also COVID vaccine conspiracism, racist “great replacement” theory, and others.

Landon knew he shouldn't be drawn in by Zeb's swarthy charm (and massive muscles) but he was just a man. He'd recently moved in with his newest boyfriend - a stunning penthouse on mainstreet opposite a gym and above another gym and next to a Starbucks, just down the way from their favorite club Tank - and they swore monogamy with each other. Unusual in Poundtown, but they were unusually in love. Or, at least, in lust. But then there was Zeb, working alongside him at the chopshop. Powerful and statuesque and all man. He was one of Poundtown's irrefutable alphas. And, yeah, Landon just couldn't refuse him. His boyfriend would understand. I mean, it's Zeb! No one in Poundtown had ever refused Zeb. Maybe they could have a threesome at the Penthouse sometime...

Annie P when grandtoby has to come get her because she’s “sick” and she’s gotta go to Starbucks and get her CeCe something of course.

Lol oh yeah. PJ calls T like “hey can you please get AP? She’s got the stomach flu and Landon and I both can’t get away from work for a couple hours” and that’s exactly what AP was counting on because she knows grandtoby will treat her to all of AP and Cece’s favorite things. 🥰

The Girl Who Never Really Knew - p.p
summary: After the spell, y/n had felt like something was missing. College was lonely but that changed when she met him all over again.  pairing: mcu!peter parker x f!reader word count: 1.5k tags: nwh spoilers, fluff, set before & after nwh,  a/n: I’m in love with Peter Parker and I have been since I was 11. This was lowkey inspired by ‘falling in love in a coffee shop’ by Landon Pigg.
The library in your high school was always crowded, but no one was ever really working. It was just a meeting stop to gossip or to make out. So you always found it strange that Peter always invited you there to do one thing and one thing only. Actually study.
“Why did we need to study here? Couldn’t we have gone to your place?” you asked, frustrated by the sounds of whispers and people kissing behind the bookshelf.
“Let’s be real. If we went to my place, we wouldn’t study,” Peter said, not taking his eyes away from his notes.
“Ah, but do we really need to study? You’re basically a genius, and I’m not in the class you have a test for,” you smirked, raising your eyebrows, trying to hint at your boyfriend that the both of you could be doing something more fun with your time.
He finally looked at you, putting together the pieces of what you were suggesting. “Who am I to say no to such a beautiful girl, with such a reasonable request?” you smiled at him. “Just let me finish this chapter and I’ll swing there as fast as I can, okay?”
“See you at your place then?” you asked, leaning on the table over your boyfriend’s homework.
“Not if I see you first.” after a kiss on the cheek, you quickly went to Peter’s place. You could catch up with May, or steal more of his clothes. But he wouldn’t be long, considering he had a transportation advantage over you. You still rushed to get to his place before he could finish his work.
That was the day you realized that you loved him. You didn’t know why that was it, but it was. Maybe it was the realization that you were practically skipping down the street with a smile from ear to ear. But that day, you knew that you would never let him go.
At least, you used to know.
Your head rested in your palms, trying to counteract the stress of staring at this screen for over two hours. Your legs were heavy as they stuck to your seat and your back ached from the slouched position you had maintained while completing this assignment. You were hungry, thirsty, but most importantly, you were tired of sitting at your desk.
You lugged yourself out of your dorm, headphones blocking the busy sounds of New York. Usually you didn’t go off-campus, mainly out of laziness. Still, something had possessed you to try a different approach than the Starbucks just outside of your residency. A coffee shop across the street caught your attention, with no giant signs declaring new overly expensive and unnecessary drinks that nobody asked for, or the sound of teenage girls trying to come across as mature. It was perfect.
A bell rang as you opened the door to the cafe. It was peaceful, warm, cozy. You were glad you decided to leave campus. The cafe was filled with plants and soft lighting. You were planning on being quick, ordering a black coffee and leaving. However, something about the atmosphere beckoned you to relax for a moment, a moment you desperately needed. You were greeted with a warm smile, which surprised you considering the usual pattern of customer service in New York City. An older woman stood on the other side of the cash register, “What can I get you, dear?”
That was when he saw you. While your face was scrunched in thought, trying to decide what to order. He felt weird staring, but he couldn’t take his eyes away from you. Your hair in a lazily put-together in a messy bun and you wore the most comfortable shoes you could afford. He noticed how tired you were, but you smiled in conversation with the woman across from you despite that. He was lost in thought for a moment, debating whether or not to introduce himself, but his thoughts were interrupted by your voice.
“Hey… is this seat taken?” you said in a soft tone.
“Oh yes, I mean No! No, you can take it if you want,” you laughed at his awkwardness.
“Mind if I join you?” he seemed surprised by your question. “I’m sorry, you probably wanna be left alone I’ll sit on the stools instead,” you cursed to yourself, trying to back out of the situation.
“No, no, no, please sit. I could use some company.” his smile made you feel warm, and you bit back your own smile that was trying to creep its way to your face. So you sat on the cushioned sofa chair next to him.
“I’m Y/N, by the way, Y/N Y/L/N,” you stuck out your hand for him to shake. His face fell for a moment as he hesitated to touch you. But he quickly covered it with a smile and shook your hand.
“I’m Peter, Peter Parker.”
“Are you in school, Peter Parker?” you asked, sipping away the latte art that the old woman insisted on making for you.
“Uh ya, Empire State. You?”
“Me too,” you said excitedly, “We’ve probably crossed paths hundreds of times at this point.”
“You have no idea,” Peter mumbled to himself as he took a sip of his own coffee. “So do you live on residence?” he asked, trying to find some segway from small talk to actual conversation.
“Yep, how about you?”
“No, I have an apartment off-campus,”
“Roommates?”
“Nope.”
“Lucky! I have two, and they’re the definition of crackhead energy. You know those girls that’ll jump off a roof if you point a camera at them?” Peter nodded, sipping his drink once more, “Well, that’s basically them. They have brought their loud-ass friends into our dorm at the most ungodly hours of the night. I haven’t had a good sleep in a very long time.” you admitted, you didn’t know why you had become so comfortable talking to this complete stranger so quickly.
“Why don’t you just crash at a friend’s place?”
“I would if I had the option.” you laughed at your current situation.
“Don’t have very generous friends?”
“I didn’t have that many friends in high school, and let me tell you, nothing has changed. I can count all my friends on one hand, and none of them go to Empire State.”
“So you don’t have any friends?” he asked with a smirk on his face.
“Well, don’t act so shocked,” you said sarcastically. “Would I be joining a complete stranger for breakfast if I did?”
“Fair enough,”
You could see that something was bothering him. He continuously tried to hide his dejected looks with a smile. Still, it always made its way back to his face. But he seemed to eat up all of your words. He listened so intently to everything you said. Taking in your features as if they’re the only thing at the cafe.
Peter had almost forgotten how much he missed the sound of your laugh. All he wanted to do was make you laugh again. And here you were, in front of him, laughing at some dumb quip he made. He knew you weren’t the best at flirting, but he could always tell when you were trying to. And right in front of his eyes, you were doing it. Something he never thought he’d see again; your attempts at flirty banter followed by an apology at how absurd you thought you sounded, the way you leaned towards him instead of away when you laughed, the way you couldn’t stop tucking your hair behind your ears and quickly pulling it back out to frame your face, the way you bite your lip but hid behind your hand. His heart fluttered for the first time since you stopped knowing.
“So… Peter,” you tucked your hair behind your ears once more, “um do-, would you wanna-, could I-” you didn’t know why you were stuttering, you never stuttered this much.
“Are you trying to ask for my number love?” Peter asked softly. Your heart did summersaults when he called you ‘love’.
You laughed at your own awkwardness. “Can I have your number, Peter Parker?” “Hmmmmm,” he brought a finger to his chin as if to mime that he was thinking, “No.”
You smacked his arm, hoping he didn’t see how red you’d gotten from the nickname he used, “Rude!” you laughed at his overdramatic gestures.
“Oh, come on, you know I’m joking. Of course, you can have my number, Y/N Y/L/N,”
You traded phones. You took a picture for his contacts, scrunching your nose. When Peter’s phone was returned to him, he saw your contact read ‘Hot Girl From Cafe ;).’ He thought to himself how very on-brand that was for you. But all you could think about was familiar he felt to you and why did every fibre in your body want to wrap him in a hug.
“So, I’ll see you around?” he asked.
“Not if I see you first.”

The first thing to go is always the language. The left has redefined so many words in our language. We don’t have shared understanding of words and meanings anymore. We can’t capitulate to the pronoun identity experiment on our kids. It’s not just a social fad normal for kids today. It’s harmful. It leads to identity & ideological subversion.
Parents: Let’s prepare our kids with the language and tools to navigate pronoun peer pressure. Role playing can be fun to help kids get the confidence to stand up for their values and true identity which will NEVER be found in a superficial sticker marking them as an oppressed group, race, gender or sexuality. Our kids need our support and permission to not participate in the social engineering experiments they’re pressured into by the woke mainstream mob.
This is such an opportunity for them to practice courage, strength, resilience and model integrity in the face of social pressure to conform.
Conformity or courage?
These are the life changing moments we get to choose. Don’t conform. Be courageous. - Landon Starbuck

Kaylee Bryant On "Legacies," The Importance Of Queer Rep On TV, Hosie, And More
"I have so many people constantly telling me that watching Josie on the show has made them feel more comfortable in themselves."
Tumblr media
This week, Kaylee Bryant squeezed us into her schedule to talk about their role as Josie Saltzman on Legacies. As a huge Josie fan, I couldn't think of a better way to spend a morning than talking to Kaylee about The Vampire Diaries, Hosie, our favorite books, and more! Here's everything we talked about:
1. What was your audition for Legacies like?
My audition process was very interesting because they kept a lot of it a secret. I had no script and a fake character name. And then I had my second audition, a chemistry read, which Jenny Boyd [Lizzie] wasn't even at. I walked in and immediately just flat-out asked, "This is for the twins, right?" So it was long, but short and intense at the same time.
BuzzFeed: Wait, did you know which twin you were going to be playing?
I initially auditioned for Josie, and then during chemistry reads, they started asking me to read for Lizzie. And then we had our final callback where I finally met Jenny and we both read for both roles. They never told us [who was playing who] until Jenny had her appointment to go dye her hair blonde.
2. What's a typical day on set like?
Gosh, it changes every time. If it's a busy day on set, we're talking like 8 a.m. call time where we spend about two hours on hair and makeup and go straight into rehearsals. If it's a big sort of episode that involves stunt work and wire work, you're talking about doing maybe two scenes in a day. But if it's an average day, we can do anywhere from three to five scenes and we can start at 8 a.m. and wrap at 8 p.m. It really depends. I'm surprised if I'm not surprised.
3. You’ve said you’re a huge fan of The Vampire Diaries. Josie played Elena in the musical episode — what was that like?
It was surreal for sure. They had talked a little bit about doing a musical episode since Season 1. And I always thought that they were joking when they talked about doing Salvatore: The Musical!, so when they said Josie would obviously play Elena, I was like, "Hahaha." And then I got the script and realized I actually was playing Elena. The musical aspect of it was the easy part. The difficult part was, I think, getting into the iconic Elena attire and trying to feel normal. Because we have a lot of crew members that worked on The Vampire Diaries, and they kept coming up to me being like, "This is weird. I feel weird."
Tumblr media
4. Do you have a favorite scene you’ve filmed with Courtney Bandeko (Finch) this season?
I really did love the scene that we had in the town square [when] we got on a moped. There were so many fans in the town square that were huddled in the rain — it was pouring rain, freezing cold — trying to snap photos of us. And it was kind of one of those surreal moments where it felt full circle, that I was on a Vampire Diaries spinoff in town square. It was a lot going on, but it was a lot of fun. It's always fun working with Courtney.
5. You and Danielle Rose Russell (Hope) also have amazing chemistry — what’s your favorite scene you’ve filmed together?
Oh gosh, we have a lot that are pretty amazing. Honestly, I'd say [Season 3] Episode 14 — we finally got to do a lot more scenes together. And it's always fun, especially when it's Josie, Lizzie, and Hope, because we have so much history character-wise. Any time you really get to dive into that, we love it.
Tumblr media
6. I know Josie and Finch are working through some things right now, but I gotta ask — how do you feel about Hosie?
I love it. Danielle and I loved the idea of Hosie starting from Season 1, and we kept asking and asking and asking for it. So it's kind of funny and full circle that now the fans have kind of taken our side with things, and now they won't stop asking for it. All we want is this beautiful, dynamic relationship. And I think that the fans want that as well.
BuzzFeed: Yeah, I mean, people have even been asking me about Hosie, and I don't work on the show!
Oh, I'm sure! [Laughs] Obviously I love it, though.
Tumblr media
7. Is there a particular Josie moment you’re really proud of?
Josie has a scene coming up in Episode 18 — or 19? — I don't know, but it's good. It's sort of the pinnacle of everything that Josie has felt over the past three years kind of culminating into one moment. So, I'm excited for people to see it.
8. You recently came out as queer. How has playing Josie, who’s pansexual, impacted you personally?
I felt a lot of pressure when I initially booked Josie because I was still figuring out who I was and what my label was. And playing a character who was so comfortable in who she was, it was inspiring [to me] in a way that I think a lot of other people watching the show have been inspired. I have so many people constantly telling me that watching Josie on the show has made them feel more comfortable in themselves. It's kind of amazing that we all have the same experience in that having queer representation makes you more comfortable.
Tumblr media
9. You’ve been vocal about your Asian identity, and your character has spoken Japanese on the show. Did you have a hand in incorporating that into Josie’s character?
No, not at all! So, I spoke Japanese a few times on the [Instagram] Live and one of our writers, Penny Cox, saw me speaking Japanese and immediately went to Brett [Matthews] and was like, "We need to make this happen somehow." And then all of a sudden, I had a script in my hands. So it was a surprise, but a fun one.
BuzzFeed: Are you fluent in Japanese?
Gosh, no! I'm barely fluent in English. [Laughs] I would say I speak at the level of maybe a second-grader on a good day, though.
10. If you could pitch any storyline for Josie, what would it be?
I always joke that I want an episode that takes place overnight. That way, we all have to be wearing pajamas the entire episode. I just want to wear some comfy clothes for a whole two weeks, that's my main goal. So we can have a pajama episode, that's my pitch.
11. What's it like getting into character for Dark Josie scenes?
It's different in the sense that I know Josie so well. And knowing Josie in turn makes me understand Dark Josie. I have a whole different playlist of music that I listen to for Dark Josie — and I have the wig, which helps a lot with getting into character.
BuzzFeed: Well, now I have to ask what music is on that playlist!
I think "Bury a Friend" by Billie Eilish is a great one for Dark Josie. Also, "Villain" by K/DA is a prime example of a perfect song for Dark Josie, so I listen to that one as well.
Tumblr media
12. What's your go-to Starbucks order?
Plain black iced Americano. Aria [Shahghasemi, who plays Landon] says I drink coffee like a sociopath. [Laughs]
13. What TV show are you currently binging?
I just finished watching Alice in Borderland, which is a Japanese show on Netflix. And I know Feel Good Season 2 just came out, so I think that's my next binge.
14. Damon or Stefan?
Stefan! They're both beautiful and I love them very much, but I'm Team Stefan when it comes to Elena.
Tumblr media
15. If you could work with anyone from The Vampire Diaries, who would it be?
Ian Somerhalder has a lot of dogs. So, maybe I want to work with him for the sole reason of just talking about dogs. [Writer's note: Kaylee revealed she has two rescue dogs, one whom was sleeping right next to them during the interview! Kaylee described the dogs as "both complete and total nuts," but said she misses them about five minutes after getting into the car to go to work.]
16. Do you think you’re most similar to Josie, Lizzie, or Hope in real life?
I would say I'm an eclectic mix of the three. I can be very headstrong like Hope, very outspoken like Lizzie, and I try to be as loving as Josie, but sometimes that doesn't always work. But I'd like to think all three.
17. Is there a role people would be surprised to learn you auditioned for, but didn't get?
I've been auditioning since I was eight, so there's quite a few Disney Channel shows and movies. And I'm sure people would be surprised because I think I auditioned for like, all of them. It's very funny, one of the first jobs I ever booked in television was Kickin' It with Leo Howard [Ethan]. Talk about full circle — going from being 12 years old and having no idea what I'm doing to being a series regular on [Legacies] and welcoming Leo to the set.
18. Who's your favorite Disney princess?
Oh, I love Mulan so much. She was, like, my first crush ever. I also love Moana, but it's Mulan 1,000%.
19. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I mean, I do eat rice every day. So maybe just white rice — you can make rice into candy and...yeah, let's go with rice.
20. If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only bring one book, what would it be?
Oh no! I recently read The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers, and I really enjoyed that book. Oh god, Is that the one that I want to bring, though? I mean, I really enjoyed it and it has many different aspects to it. I don't know. Or should I go with Harry Potter? I go through different genres too, like right now I'm in a big sci-fi phase, but other times I'll go the opposite direction and only read biographies. Yeah, that's super hard. I don't think I would know!
21. On that note, what's your Hogwarts house?
Initially, when I was younger, it used to just be straight-up Slytherin. And now, I recently took the Sorting Hat Quiz and I got Ravenclaw. So I'm going to go with Slytherclaw.
BuzzFeed: What's Josie's house?
Josie would be Slytherin. She tries very hard and, you know, not everyone in Slytherin is evil. She just, you know, has her way of going about things.
22. Has anything super funny or embarrassing happened to you on set?
I trip a lot on set. I get scared very easily — if I come around the corner and somebody is walking the other direction, I get scared. Everybody knows to walk slowly around me because I get scared so easily.
23. What's your wildest fan story?
I've had people cry before. And I'm an empath, so if somebody starts crying, I immediately am like, "Please don't cry, because I'm gonna cry." And then it turns into this whole thing. Once we were shooting in the town square and this young girl with her mom started crying, and I just hugged her and I didn't know what to say. So there's a lot of that. There's also the occasional, "Where's your twin?" and...I don't have one, sorry! But yeah, I would say the people who cry always throw me for a loop.
24. How do you unwind after a long day?
I have an hourlong drive home from work, so I usually listen to a lot of music. And by the time I get home, taking off all of my makeup is very therapeutic. Because over time, we're working 13-hour days, 16-hour days, and it's just powder constantly building up on my face. So, washing my face is always very therapeutic. And then just laying back and reading a book and petting my dog is the best.
25. Is there a celebrity you get told you look like a lot?
Most recently, Sara Waisglass [from Ginny & Georgia and Degrassi]. We follow each other on social media now and I completely messed up because I don't know how Twitter works at all. I forgot that there's a DMing interaction, so we followed each other and I was like, "Oh, that's nice." And then just recently, I saw that she had messaged me being like, "We're twins! We should be friends!" And I immediately messaged back, "I'm so sorry, let's be friends!"
Tumblr media
26. Who's your biggest celebrity crush?
Oh, I have so many. But consistently since I saw Orphan Black, Tatiana Maslany. Hands down.
27. Finally, have you ever caught someone watching a TV show or movie that you're in on a flight or anywhere else?
We were all, as a cast, flying to — was it New York Comic Con, or San Diego Comic Con? — one of the Comic Cons. And we were all sitting there and we saw that Legacies was actually on the airplane as an option. And we were all just uncomfortably staring at each other. Yeah, that was surreal.
Be sure to catch Kaylee in Legacies, which airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on The CW!

One dance don't feel low
Kaylee Bryant x Male Reader
Request- Kaylee and Male reader work together on the show Legacies. They developed feelings for each other.
Tumblr media
Kaylee had to do a scene with you. It was a kissing scene and she wasn't sure why she felt nervous about it. She felt a spark when she kissed you. She starts to wonder if you felt the spark.
“What’s on your mind?” Danielle asked.
“What do you know about the new guy,” Kaylee said.
“Just Google his profile on IMDb, that's what I did,” Danielle said.
She had to do a costume change and Kaylee looked up your profile on IMDb. She starts to read that you appeared on
Arrow, Chicago PD, Gringo, The Adams family (2019), the good dinosaur, and Onward.
She is impressed by the work you did. She did look up your Instagram account, she pressed followed and liked a few pictures. She puts her phone away and she looked at you.
On the show, you will be Josie's new boyfriend. Your scenes are with Kaylee and Jenny. Your character doesn't get along with Hope and Landon. Hope and Landon won't support the relationship but Lizzie supports the relationship. You would be a vampire on the show.
You and Kaylee starting to get to know each other. She makes you smile and laugh, her smile makes you weak. When you were alone, you noticed Kaylee followed you on Instagram. You can't stop smiling and you did like a few pictures of her.
---
You are sitting down in a chair and Kaylee walked towards you. She bought coffee for you and her.
“Y/N, I got this for you,” Kaylee said.
You grabbed the coffee and you smiled.
“Thanks. You didn't had to buy me coffee” You said.
“You did buy me lunch last week. So umm... Y/n any plans for Valentine's Day?” Kaylee said.
“Nope. I'm not dating anyone, I guess I will just stay home and do something. What about you?” You said.
Kaylee asked because she wanted to know if you're single. She did see some pictures with girls on your Instagram account.
“I was dating but we broke up six months ago,” Kaylee said.
You developed feelings for Kaylee. Talking to her is never boring and her smile you love it. Kaylee teaches you the basic words in Japanese. She giggles when you say it wrong and your struggle to say it properly.
“If you go to Japan you will love it,” Kaylee said.
“Can't wait to go. Maybe you can be my trout guide and translator” You said.
She smiled “could happen... Will see”
You and Kaylee smiled at each other.
✯ ✫ ✬ ✫
You and Kaylee always have to shoot scenes together. Your feelings for her became stronger and you wonder if she feels the same. You like doing the kissing and her lips are soft.
You and Kaylee started to do interviews for the show. Before the interview started Kaylee noticed your collar is uneven.
“Wait, y/n let me fix it,” Kaylee said.
She is standing very close to you. You felt your heart in your throat and Kaylee is feeling nervous too. She stares into your eyes and she fixed your collar.
“Much better” Kaylee said.
“Thank you,” You said.
You and Kaylee started to interview with puppies. You couldn't focus on the questions because you kept with the puppies. Kaylee would answer the questions for you then you jump in and say something. Kaylee would play with the puppies and one of them licked her face.
----
You and Kaylee are on set filming 3x01. Kaylee is covered in mud and you are laughing at her. You noticed that she is getting closer to you and you kept moving away.
“Y/N, give me a hug,” Kaylee said.
“Maybe later,” You said.
“Just give me a hug,” Kaylee said.
She didn't stop walking towards you. You keep moving away then you felt her arms go around you. The mud got all over your clothes and she kissed your cheek but it was close to your lips.
“I got my hug” Kaylee smiled and kissed your cheek again.
She starts to giggle and she has a strong grip around you.
“You ruined my clothes” You laughed.
She lets go of you.
“You moved too slow” Kaylee laughed.
She smacked your ass before you went to change clothes.
“Naughty” You laughed.
✯ ✫ ✬ ✫
The more you worked with Kaylee your feelings got stronger. Again you and Kaylee have to do another interview together. You don't mind it's with her but you had to wake up very early.
“I got this for you,” You said.
“You remember my order?” Kaylee asked.
“I never forgot. I did get it right?” You said.
You went to Starbucks before you met up with Kaylee.
“Yes, you got it right. But you forgot the whipped cream” Kaylee said and kissed your cheek.
Later, you and Kaylee did start to answer questions about the show. The next couple of questions are about the characters.
“How does it feel working with y/n?” The host asked.
“I like working with him. He is very funny, sweet and sometimes he brings me food. He is a talented actor and handsome” Kaylee said and smiled.
You did blush and she just smiled.
“ I don't like working with Kaylee. She is diva” You joked.
She playfully smacked your arm “Y/N”
You laughed.
“I’m kidding. Kaylee is an amazing actress, beautiful, very sweet and she always makes me laugh. I love working with her all the time” You said.
“Do you want to go out tonight on a date?” Kaylee asked.
Your eyes opened wide and you looked at the host.
“Of course!” You said.
You and Kaylee smiled at each other. What happened everyone is talking about it on the internet.
-----
You and Kaylee have some time off from work. It was her idea to go to Japan, you or Kaylee never to been to Japan. But she does know Japanese on the plane she did teach you how to speak Japanese. You did struggle to learn but she found it cute how you mess up the words. You and Kaylee would spend Valentine's day in Japan.

Hey hun you had said you where taking Dewey x reader song request. I was wondering if you could do falling in love at a coffee shop by Landon pigg
(I did not edit this at all. At all. Professionally irresponsible? Maybe. Will I go back and fix it later? Also maybe.)
Coffee shop anyone? Heck yeah. It’s not really an AU, but it’s got the spirit. Side note, I have loved this song for years, thank you for giving me an excuse to use it!
Words: ~2,400 (……….)
Buy Me a Coffee, if you’d like
Dewey took a deep breath before walking into the shop. He held the door for a teenager before stepping in himself. The shop had only opened a few months earlier, in November. He had felt badly at first, November was a terrible month to open a new business in a place like New York. It was cold and grey and nobody had wanted to venture to a new coffee shop when they could simply go to the same Starbucks they had been visiting since 2004, where they could order ahead and be out the door in forty-five seconds tops.
So, Dewey visited the new shop every morning. It was a cute place, and it deserved a chance. Inside, it was decorated in shades of blush. The furniture was comfy, the atmosphere was cozy, the music was warm, and it had plenty of accessible outlets. It had obviously been painstakingly color-coordinated, but it wasn’t tacky or flashy.
What really boosted its popularity, however, had been its marketing leading up to this month. The shop took February seriously, and even its design evoked a sense of warm fuzziness that the people of New York were desperate for during what was meant to be the season of love, amidst a season of subzero wind chill and snow.
Every morning, Dewey saw these same walls, these same shelves, these same chairs. Every morning, Dewey stood in line and pretended to study the pattern on the old ceiling. And slowly, every single morning, Dewey made his way up to the real reason he came to this shop. The reason he had needed a breath before walking in today.
I think that possibly…
What seemed to be a permanent flush decorated your cheeks.
Maybe, I’m falling for you.
You never wore the baseball cap that your employees wore – the black one with the store’s logo embossed in white and red.
Yes, there’s a chance…
You did wear the apron, but yours was nearly unadorned. No pins, no patches.
That I’ve fallen quite hard over you.
The store logo was embroidered at the top left of the apron, close to your heart, and the thread shone in the overhead lighting whenever you leaned over to get a better look at the line.
I’ve seen the paths that your eyes wander down.
Your warm gaze always seemed to analyze the line and all of the customers in it.
I wanna come too.
Dewey always wondered why you did this. Were you trying to spot your regulars? Were you trying to spot him?
I think that possibly, maybe I’m falling for you.
“Good morning, Mr. Finn,” you said with a smile.
“Good morning, Y/N.” Dewey spoke with a playful cadence and returned your smile. He wished you would call him ‘Dewey,’ but he never said that. You knew he was a teacher, and you knew his cup should say ‘Mr. Finn.’
You snatched a twenty-ounce cup from the stack beside you and readied a sharpie. “Strawberry mocha?” you asked.
Dewey squinted at the menu on the far wall, above your head, as if he hadn’t been rehearsing his order under his breath all morning like a crazy person. “I think I’m gonna go strawberry coconut this time.”
With just the corner of your mouth turned up, you sucked in a breath through your teeth. “Ooh, that’s a good choice. Anything else?” You wrote a very neat ‘Mr. Finn’ on the paper cup you were holding and passed it off to one of your employees. Shoot. Dewey swore his coffee was always better when you made it, but he supposed the line was a little long today. He wanted to turn around and shoo all of your other customers away. He wanted to be the most important customer you saw today. He wondered what the chances of that were. And he wondered if he should get a scone.
“No, that’s it, thanks.”
“Okay,” you muttered. He handed you some cash before you could tell him the total, leaning one hand on the counter.
“So, what’s this I hear about a Valentine’s Day…thing? A music, poetry…?”
You lifted your eyebrows in amusement. “The open mic night.”
Dewey snapped his fingers. “Open mic night, that’s it. Yeah. What’s up with that?”
“We thought it’d be a good way to connect with the community. I see most of these people every day anyway,” you shrugged. There was a good-natured tinge to the gesture and Dewey had to fight the insane urge to reach forward and brush your hair back when a few strands fell into your face. “You should come! It’ll be fun.” You handed him his change.
In one movement, and without breaking eye contact, Dewey took the bills you handed him and folded them haphazardly before tucking them into the jar on the counter beside his hand. He did this every day. You still thanked him every day. “Maybe I will.”
I never knew just what it was…
“Good.” You smiled.
About this old coffee shop I loved so much.
“Hey, I can bring my guitar.”
All of the while, I never knew.
“Even better.” If it was at all possible, your eyes softened even more and your smile grew. Could it be that you were the one person on Earth who actually liked when that one guy brought his guitar to the party? “I’ll see you tomorrow night.”
He nodded. “See you there.”
Dear God, what had he just agreed to?
Dewey could sing. He could play. He was a good musician. Maybe even a great one – no matter his doubts about himself, he would always maintain that much. But playing for you, at a community event, surrounded by random people where he couldn’t even be sure you would be paying attention to him was…it was a lot. For all he knew, he was just another regular to you.
To Dewey, you were a coffee shop rock star. You ran a successful small business. You had employees who seemed to actually enjoy working for you. Employees who enjoyed being baristas. Before meeting you, Dewey would never have believed it, it was just incredible. He had to think that you were incredible, with your gorgeous smile and your gentle manner and your obvious cleverness.
There was no time to get to know you in the mornings, for either of you. The few times he had gone to the shop after school, you hadn’t been there. This open mic night was his chance. But what if he failed? What if he choked?
What if you didn’t like him?
Dewey shook himself, thanked the mousy barista before him for his coffee, and rushed out of the shop. He couldn’t think like that. Music was the one thing he knew he was good at. If you didn’t like his playing at least, there wasn’t much he could do about that. There wasn’t much hope either. All he could do was give it a shot.
So, he resolved to do just that. Going to the coffee shop the next morning felt a bit like cheating. Like sneaking a glance at something before it was finished. The furniture in the shop had been rearranged and there was a space cleared out now, with a stool and tastefully hung fairy lights. They looked like the warm white ones. You weren’t behind the counter, though, and he felt the slightest bit relieved. Any other day he would have been disappointed, but he wasn’t ready to see you yet.
Eleven hours later, at 6:30 PM, Dewey’s stomach was performing all sorts of aerobics. He walked into the coffee shop with his acoustic guitar in a battered black case. This time, unlike every other time he had walked through the door, he felt the need to kick the snow off of his shoes.
It was completely dark outside, but the atmosphere inside the shop was as warm as ever – maybe warmer. Only half of the overhead lights were on, and all of the lamps were on to compensate. Unlike that morning, the fairy lights were plugged in and glowing. People were milling about the shop, ordering tea and cocoa. There was a large sign up at the front, and another by the door, stating that the shop would not be serving fully caffeinated coffee that night. Smart. No coffee meant no jitters, which meant better performances.
Dewey wrote his name on the roster just at the edge of the seating area and shuffled up to the counter. He waved to a few people he recognized in the small crowd. This time, he ordered a strawberry cocoa. The coconut was good, everything on your menu was, but it didn’t quite hit the spot.
Then he saw you.
I think that possibly…
Past the chairs and the faces and the red, pink, and white crepe paper, Dewey saw you.
Maybe I’m falling for you.
You were behind the microphone, welcoming people, thanking them for coming, wishing them a happy February and a happy early Valentine’s Day.
Yes, there’s a chance…
If anyone else had been speaking, he would have snorted at that. Yet, something in the way you spoke, the way your voice cradled the ‘v’ and the ‘n’s and the ‘ay’ of ‘Valentine’s Day’ wouldn’t let him.
That I’ve fallen quite hard over you.
You wore white and shades of blush, obviously painstakingly color-coordinated. But it wasn’t tacky or flashy.
I’ve seen the waters that make your eyes shine.
You looked warm and stunning, as always, and Dewey really, really wanted to know if your hair was as soft as it looked.
Now I’m shining too.
The barista behind him handed him his cocoa, and he thanked her vaguely. He almost floated to a seat and tried to fold himself into it as quietly as possible while you gave your not-quite-stage patter. Your eyes managed to catch his nonetheless, and he thought he saw the corner of your mouth quirk up.
Because, oh, because I’ve fallen quite hard over you.
You weren’t at the mic for long, and you walked away into a politely applauding crowd to make way for the person you had just announced from the roster.
Looking back on what followed for the next twenty minutes, Dewey would remember it as a blur. At the time, it was agonizing. The waiting, the leg bouncing, the trying not to be too obvious when he looked through the small crowd of open mic night attendees to see where you kept disappearing to. For the life of him, Dewey couldn’t see you when you were sitting down. Beyond a general area on the far side of the room, he couldn’t tell where you were.
When his turn came, he almost jolted out of his seat. Dewey stood awkwardly, almost missing the tone of your voice when you said his first name. He was sure you had known it before, but the way you said it almost sounded like you had forgotten. Maybe you had never said it out loud before.
Dewey managed not to stumble up to the microphone. You gave him an encouraging smile when he reached it, then made your way back to your seat at the very edge of the crowd, not to Dewey’s right. Good to know.
Later, Dewey wouldn’t clearly remember how his performance had gone either. He would remember that it had gone well enough. Acoustic wasn’t his favorite, but he stayed within the bounds of the instrument he had to work with. The way you held his gaze, the way your face lit up every time he hit a particularly smooth run, the way you leaned forward, toward him, when he slowed at the bridge would be burned into his memory until the end of time. The way you applauded when he had finished made his heart soar in a way that he hadn’t entirely expected. He did good. He did good.
Abruptly, it felt like the battle was half over. Dewey had come out and impressed you, and he hadn’t needed to make an ass of himself to do it. Now all he had to do was actually talk to you.
So, he accepted the crowd’s applause, passed you on your way back up to the mic, and sat down at your table. He had finished his cocoa anyway. Your brow flickered at him, but you didn’t otherwise react. He waited for you to join him. Once you did, you were thankful for the break in the roster. You had scheduled a fifteen minute break and it happened to fall right after Dewey.
“Hey,” you greeted him when you sat down beside him. Not across from him. Beside him. “You were phenomenal up there.” He blushed and looked down at the table. You knew how pressing your gaze could be when you complemented someone like this, but you only raised your eyebrows a tad before pressing on. “Seriously. I would’ve given you your own gig when we first opened if I’d known.”
Dewey lifted his eyes to you, giving you what could only be described as a dopey grin. “Really?”
“For sure.”
“Thanks.”
I never knew just what it was…
You smiled at him. “I’m glad you came tonight, I was worried about this event. First we didn’t get enough crepe paper, then I had to fight for the permits…” You let your sentence trail, unwilling to go into all of the details.
About this old coffee shop I loved so much.
Dewey was taken aback. You were the cleverest business owner on the block, what did you have to be worried about? “What are you talking about? This place is amazing, of course tonight was gonna go well.”
All of the while, I never knew.
He mentally high-fived himself when he saw your usual light blush deepen. Shaking his head, he gave you a soft, encouraging smile.
“Well, thank you, Mr. Finn.”
“I really wish you’d call me ‘Dewey.’”
You considered him for a moment. “Okay,” you finally said. “Dewey, then.”
All of the while…
“So, d’you think your students fully appreciate how amazing you are?” Now you were teasing, and Dewey seemed more at ease with that.
All of the while…
He leaned back and settled a hand on the table. “They’d better, they all know I’ll fail ‘em if they don’t worship me.” You laughed.
It was you.

This was just his fucking luck, wasn’t it?
Landon had been trying to avoid everyone in his life after his bender, especially since he knew he looked haggard --- the bags under his eyes and his unkempt hair wasn’t helping. While his sisters and his mother would’ve been the worst people to walk into Starbucks, Angie wasn’t far behind. He knew there’d be questions and, hell, she’d probably smack him in the most subtle way that she could. He cursed under his breath as she came to the counter and he smiled as he took her order, but only because he had to. He wanted to wince and apologize, but he couldn’t. She had no idea he’d lied to her. “You don’t come to this one” he said quietly, knowing the Starbucks he worked at was far from her usual spots, “what’re you doing here?”

tagging: hope mikaelson ( @chosenlonely ) location: somewhere in the sky @ 30,000 feet description: handon go to disney 2k30.  landon has anxiety and hope is an excellent girlfriend. +  a deleted scene, if you will, where hope tells landon a secret she’s been keeping on the plane ride home.
landon kirby03/08/2020
at  first  glance,  this  seems  like  an  opportunity  of  a  lifetime:  5  days,  4  nights,  at  walt  disney  world.   yes,  that's  right:  disney   world,  as  in  the  one  in  florida  and  not  the  one  in  anaheim.   (  this,  he'll  own,  might  be  his  fault.   but  in  all  fairness,  disney  world  and  disney  land  is  just  asking  for  confusion.  )    so  when  the  itinerary  shows  up  in  the  mail,  complete  with  their  flight  information,  suffice  to  say  he's  equal  parts  excited  and  terrified.   he's  done  road  trips  before,  has  been  completely  fine  for  long  trips,  but  a  5.5  hour  plane  ride  ?  he  has  anxiety  just  thinking  about  the  anxiety  that  being  stuck  in  a  pressurized  cabin  will  give  him.   it's  not  like  you  can  just  crack  a  window,  or  pull  over  to  take  a  breath  when  it's  a  little  too  much  to  handle.    (  yes,  he's  excited,  but  he's  also  dreading  this  with  every  fibre  of  his  being.   it's  a  problem  ) he's  quiet  on  the  way  to  the  airport,  leg  jiggling  in  the bak  of  the  cab  as  he  checks  and  re-checks  that  they  have  everything.   they've  got  their  tickets,  their  passports,  and  the  boarding  passes  he  printed  out  online  the  night  before.   they're  ready.    or  as  ready  as  they  can  be,  anyway.    "  here  you  go.  departures.  have  fun,  kids. "   their  cab  driver  is  friendly,  helps  him  get  their  suitcases  over  to  the  bag  drop.   he  has  a  mild  moment  of  anxiety  over  passing  off  his  suitcase,  a  spider-man  emblem  made  out  of  duct  tape  a  beacon  that  will  make  it  easier  to  see  later,  but  things  go  off  relatively  without  a  hitch.   they  make  it  through  security,  grab  some  bagels  from  the  starbucks  by  their  gate,  and  by  the  time  they're  sitting  down  he  feels  ...  ok.    "  phew.  that  wasn't  so  bad. "
hope mikaelson03/08/2020
when  everything  feels  like  it's  going  to  hell,  she's  developed  a  rather  strange  coping  mechanism.  normalcy.  it's  as  though  if  she  embraces  it,  she  can  forget  about  the  insanity  circling  her.  it's  blatant  avoidance  but  at  least  it's  avoidance  wrapped  in  what  looks  -  to  the  outside  world  at  least  -  like  healthy  development.  pushing  boundaries,  breaking  comfort zones.  in  one  sense,  it  is.  allowing  herself  to  have  what  everyone  does  without  worrying  it  will  go  up  in  flames.  that's  why,  when  they  win  a  couples  contest  she'd  entered  mostly  for a  distraction,  she's  equal  parts  surprised  and  elated  when  they  win.  it's  just  what  they  need.  the  itinerary  shows  up,  they  start  packing,  landon  makes  a  superhero  emblem  to  make  sure  he  can  locate  his  luggage  and  she  falls  in  love  all  over  again.  (  she  reassures  her  parents  that  she'll  be  fine,  multiple  times.  )
landon's  quiet  on  the  drive  to  the  airport  and  she  understands  it.  she's  never  been  on  a  long-haul  flight  either.  in  fact,  she's  never  really  been  on  a  flight  at  all.  magic  always  seemed  easier  in  a  family  of  witches  and  vampires.  it  made  sense.  but  it  doesn't  now,  and  she  thinks  that's  a  good  thing.  she  smiles  at  their  cab  driver  when  he  sets  off  and,  when  they  go  through  the  airport,  she  actually  pretends  she  knows  what  she's  doing.  it's  not  so  much  for  his  benefit  as  it  is  for  hers.  she  might  be  breaking  boundaries  and  comfort  zones  but  she  still  has  a  somewhat  need  to  be  in  control.  everything  goes  off,  relatively,  okay.  nothing  explodes,  nothing  gets  destroyed.  they  make  it  onto  the  plane.  she offers  him  a  wide  smile  when  he  seems  to  sink  in  the  seat  and  reaches  over  for  his  hand  across  their  seats,  intertwining  their  fingers.  "  right?  we're  gonna  be  fine.  "  they  haven't  taken  off  yet  but  they'll  be  fine.  obviously.March 9, 2020
landon kirby03/09/2020
"  we're  gonna be  fine. "   he  echoes  it  because  he  believes  it,  even  if  he'll  be  proved  wrong  in  a  matter  of  minutes.   when  they're  together,  they're  stronger;   they  can  face  even  the  toughest  of  obstacles  —  like  wayward  feelings,  villainous  mudpit  parents,  and  monsters  bound  and  determined  to  upturn  their  lives.    he  knows  he  doesn't  always  pull  his  weight,  is  sometimes  more  of  a  hinderance  than  a  help,  but  he's  trying.    he's  trying  now  too,  focusing  on  his  breathing  so  he  doesn't  work  himself  into  a  panic.     it's  instinct  that  sees  his  hand  instantly  reach  for  hers,  threads  their  fingers  together  as  the  plane  roars  to  life  beneath  them.    the  vibration's  jarring,  he  squeezes  a  little  tighter,  but  they're  still  on  the  ground;  he's  fine.
knowing  that  he  needs  a  distraction,  he  focuses  on  the  facts.   things  they're  going  to  do,  places  they'll  see;   characters  he  would  die  to  meet.   "  with  the  time  difference,  we're  going  to  land  in  orlando  around  1:30.  i  think.  so  we  should  probably  — "   he  breaks  off  as  the  plane  starts  to  move,   taxying  on  the  runway.   he  blinks,  tries  to  remember  what  he  was  trying  to  say.    "  they'll  take  our  bags  straight  to  the  hotel  and  the  shuttle  will  drop  us  off  at  disney. "    the  plane  lurches  and  his  stomach  drops,  inhaling  sharply  as  he  grips  her  hand  like  a  lifeline.   "  so  we,  uh,  we  should  do  —  jesus  —   uh  one  of  the  smaller  parks.    animal  kingdom,  maybe.   or  the  water  parks. "     there's  no  time  to  input  his  opinion  because  they're  in  the  air,  his  eyes  widening  as  he  makes  the  mistake  of  looking  out  the  window.   "  oh  god. "
hope mikaelson03/09/2020
they  aren't  fine.  she  doesn't  have  a  particular  problem  with  flying,  the  usual background  fear  of  the  plane  going  down  and  killing  them  both  (  impermanently  where  she  was  concerned  )  considered.  landon,  it  would  seem,  does.  she  can't  blame  him,  figures  it  out  quickly.   small  spaces,  hope!  she  remembers  him  yelling  when  she  still  thought  he  could  be  dangerous.  planes  are,  essentially,  inescapable  small  spaces  cruising  at  several  thousand  feet.  she  watches  as  he  starts  to  panic,  finds  the  window,  and  she  squeezes  his  hand  while  her  free  hand  finds  his  face.  "  hey,   hey.  "  she  leans  over  in  her  seat,  puts  less distance  between  them  and  more  against  the  situation.  she  can't  do  much  to  stop  this  from happening,  but  she  can  soothe  him.  (  at  least,  she  hopes  so.  )
"  look  at  me.  "  not  the  fact  they're  getting  higher  and  higher  as  they  speak,  not  the  seat belts  strapped  to  their  waists,  not  the  closed  entryways  and  windows  all  around  them.  if  she  can  get  him  to  focus  on  something  he  doesn't  have  to  create,  an  itinerary  and  a  map  of  the  parks  she's  never  been  to,  then  she  has  hope  for  calming  him  down.  she  squeezes  his  hand  tighter  still,  anything  to  ensure  he  focuses  on  her  and  not  the  world  around  them.  "  we're  fine.  just  look  at  me.  "March 11, 2020
landon kirby03/11/2020
it's  not  a  command  but  it  might  as  well  be.   his  head  turns  sharply,  beads  of  sweat  dotting  his  hairline  as  he  swallows  hard.   he  hates  that  he's  like  this,  after  all  these  years.   that  he  can  blink  and  suddenly  he's  8  years  old  again,  locked  in  a  closet  he  can't  escape,  waiting  in  the  dark  for  someone  to  rescue  him.   it's  a  helpless  feeling,  one  he  hates  more  than  anything.    so  when  she  swoops  in  with  a  calm  voice,  soft  eyes  searching  for  his,  he  leans  in;     he  takes  a  breath,   he  swallows  past  the  panic.
"  we're  fine. "   he  parrots  the  words  back  to  her,  nodding  his  head.    he  repeats  them  twice  more,  feeling  the  anxiety  abate  a  little  more  each  time.     he  keeps  his  eyes  locked  on  hers,  frown  slowly  shifting  into  a  smile  as  the  plane  levels  out  and  his  heart  rate  normalizes.    he  feels  a  little  bit  like  he's  run  a  marathon  but  he's  survived;    he's  okay.    "  have  i  told  you  lately  how  much  i  love  you ? "   he  knows  he  has,  but  he  can  never  say  it  too  many  times.   he  loves  her,   loves  how  understanding  and  compassionate  she  can  be,  and  how  she  always  knows  the  right  thing  to  say  in  a  crisis.March 13, 2020
hope mikaelson03/13/2020
moments  like  this,  moments  of  normal  crisis,  make  her  confident.  make  her  feel  like  they  can  survive  anything.  make  her  feel  like  he  can  just  look  at  her,  keep  looking  at  her,  they'll  make  it  out.  (  they  always  do,  after  all.  even  when  things  are  far  more  dire  than  this.  )  he  comes  back  to  himself  slowly.  her  smile  reaches  her  eyes  when  his  starts  and  she  squeezes  his  hands  in  hers  again.  have  i  told  you  lately  how  much  i  love  you?  "  a  few  times.  "  it'll  never  be  enough.  not  for  her,  she  hopes  not  for  him  either.  she's  getting  into  the  habit  of  almost  making  dangerous  confessions  around  him  recently.  she  wants  to  tell  him  that  she  loves  him  too,  more  than  she  can  put  into  words,  and  she  thinks  that's  going  to  be  a  constant  for  as  long  as  she's  herself.  (  as  long  as  the  commodity  to  be  herself  is  one  she  can  still  afford.  even  if  she  spends  most  of  her  time  trying  to  outrun  the  sacrifice  it  means.  )
she  leans  in  instead.  kisses  him  soft  and  sweet  and  hopes  that  this  isn't  affection  he's  uncomfortable  with.  (  she  worries  it's  badly  timed,  all  things  considered,  but  she  supposes  sometimes  the  only  way  they're  really  going  to  get  through  this  plane  ride  is  together.  this  doesn't  feel  any  different  to  that  promise.  )  it's  brief,  because  she  knows  where  they  are  and  what  that  entails,  but  it's  still  tender  when  she  settles  back  into  her  seat.  "  i  love  you  too.  "March 21, 2020
landon kirbyLast Saturday at 1:17 AM
he's  quick  to  return  the  kiss  when  her  lips  press  against  his,  a  smile  replacing  the  frown  that  previously  graced  his  features.  together,  they're  untouchable  —  a  little  thing  like  takeoff  isn't  enough  to  ruin  this  experience.    (  there's  no  one  he'd  feel  more  comfortable  with.  no  one.  )   "  a  few  times  might  turn  into  way  too  much.    just  a  heads  up. "    he  thinks  he'll  never  get  tired  of  saying  it,  of  feeling  it.    he  hadn't  known  what  he  was  missing  before,  what  love  felt  like,  but  now  that  he  did  ?   it  was  the  best  feeling,   one  he'd  never  give  up  without  a  fight.
they  do  have  some  modicum  of  restraint,  so  he  only  kisses  her  once  more  (  okay,  maybe  twice.  or  three  times.  definitely  less  than  15  minutes  )    before  digging  his  phone  out  of  his  pocket.   once  hand's  still  holding  hers,  extending  an  earphone  for  her  to  take  so  they  can  listen  together.    yes,  he's  curated  the  perfect  airplane  playlist,  filled  with  their  favorite  songs.    (  if  it  spans  the  exact  duration  of  their  flight,  to  the  minute,  he'll  go  down  swinging  that  it's  just  a  coincidence.  )   "  five  hours  to  go  and  then  we're  at  disney. "    his  smile  isn't  nervous  this  time  but  excited;   it  still  hardly  feels  real.    that  they  get  to  experience  this  together,  for  the  first  time,  is  an  added  bonus.
hope mikaelsonLast Saturday at 8:06 PM
"  i  think  we'll  be  okay.  "  she  doesn't  think  she  could  ever  get  tired  of  hearing  landon  tell  her  he  loves  her.  she  would  never  admit  it,  but  she  absolutely  doesn't  understand  why  he  loves  her  in  the  first  place.  she  leans  into  each  of  the  kisses  pressed  against  her  lips,  keeps  her  fingers  on  his  cheek  for  just  a  few  more  seconds,  before  she  shifts  back  into  her  seat.  she  takes  the  earphone  offered  to  her  with  a  beaming  smile,  leans  further  over  into  her  seat.  she  squeezes  his  hand  in  hers,  makes  a  lighthearted  comment  about  how  she  hopes  this  playlist  is  five  hours  of  his  voice.   (  unedited,  serenading  her,  like  a  podcast. she  honestly  isn't  picky.  )
five  hours  of  perfectly  timed  playlist  later,  they're  on  the  ground  again.  she  holds  his  hand  through  the  descent,  promises  that  they'll  be  okay.  when  they  finally  do  land,  she  kisses  him  again.  (  for  no  reason.  she's  learning  that's  a  reason  too.  )  she  pulls  him  up  with  her,  grabs  their  luggage  from  the  overhead  storage  unit  (  or  well,  she  attempts  ;  she  ends  up  standing  on  one  of  the  chairs  but  no  one  said  she  couldn't  )  and  leads  him  through  the  door  to  sunny  florida.  "  we're  here.  "  it's  warm  for  the  time  of  year  and  she's  grateful.  she wonders,  as  they  walk  through  the  airport  to  get  their  other  bags,  what  they  look  like  to  the  naked  eye.  just  two  teenagers  in  love.  ah,  first  love.  to  roll  eyes  at  and  get  consumed  by  the  nostalgia  of.  (  she  knows  their  story  is  nothing  like  anyone  elses,  but  she  doesn't  want  it  to  be.  she  just  enjoys  the  freedom.  of  course,  that's  the  thought  that  carries  her  to  the  happiest  place  on  earth.  )
***
hope mikaelson03/08/2020
she  has  a  complicated  relationship  with  secrets.  she  understands  why  they're  necessary,  that  they  can  keep  people  safe.  shield  them  from  burdens  they  don't  have  to  bear.  the  problem  is  secrets,  by  their  very  nature,  have  to  take  a  toll  on  someone.  she's  learnt  that  first  hand  over  the  last  few  months.  it  shouldn't  be  so  hard  to  tell  your  boyfriend  that  you met  his  mother,  that  she  threw  herself  into  malivore  to  avoid  parental  responsibility,  and  that  she  somehow  remembers  when  no  one  else  does.  but  he's  malivore's  son,  and  she's    in  love  with  someone  else,  and  he's  stayed  with  her  all  the  same.  any  opportunity  that  arose  to  destroy  that  simply  felt  like  trying  her  luck.  but,  now,  she's  sitting  on  a  plane  back  from  florida,  with  pink  hair,  counting  down  the  days  until  her  boyfriend  inevitably  leaves  her.  yeah,  it's  gotten  out  of  hand. they've  been  in  the  air  for  a  while.  how  long,  exactly,  she  isn't  sure.  she  knows  that  most  people  are  watching  movies  or  asleep  and  so  she  figures  this  is  as  close  to  privacy  as  she's  going  to  get.  she  turns  her  head  to  her  boyfriend,  takes  stock  of  how  they're  definitely  going  to  stand  out  in  the  crowd  now,  leant  back  on  her  seat.  he's  a  nervous  flyer  and  she  doesn't  think  she  could  have  picked  a  worse  time  for  this.  but  realistically,  they  can't  escape.  unless  he  decides  to  hoard  the  bathroom  until  they  touch  the  ground  and  never  speak  to  her  again.  (  that's  more  than  the  worst  case  scenario,  but  she's  sunk  so   deeply  into  her  own  paranoia  it  actually seems  like  a  reasonable  fear.  )  "  hey,  "  her  voice  is  gentle,  taking  a  breath.  "  you  okay?  "
landon kirby03/08/2020
what  he's  learned,  in  the  aftermath  of  his  first  disastrous  experience  with  flying,  is  that  when  they're  cruising  ?  he's  mostly  fine.    he  takes  the  aisle  seat,  makes  sure  their  window  covering  is  pulled  all  the  way  down,  and  focuses  on  playing  video  games  or  listening  to  music  with  hope.  distractions,  he  knows,  are  the  key  to  maintaining  his  sanity. that  being  said,  he's  had  this  feeling  —  call it  intuition  —  since  they  got  back  on  the  plane  that  something  was  up.      not  with  the  plane,  thank  god,  but  with  the  girl  sitting  beside  him.    she's  quite  by  nature;   gentle  but  strong,  wise  but  vulnerable,  but  it  feels  different  this  time.  deliberate.       he's  been  thinking  so  much  about  what's  not  being  said  that  he  almost  misses  it  when  she  does  speak.   "  what  ?  oh,  yeah.  i'm  good. "   he  cracks  a  smile,  finds  that  he  actually  means  it.    "  don't  get  me  wrong;   if  we  hit  any  turbulence,  or  when  we  land,  that  good's  going  to  turn  into  really  not  good  until  we're  back  on  the  ground. "    at  least  this  time  he  won't  (  hopefully  )  trip  down  the  stairs  in  his  haste  to  get  off  the  plane.
hope mikaelson03/08/2020
she  never  forgets  that  she  loves  him  but  sometimes  she  remembers  why  she  loves  him  as  much  as  she does.  it  scares  her,  when  he  smiles  at  her,  and  she  wants  to  feel  at  ease.  it  scares  her  because  it  could be  over  in  a  minute.  that  she  might've  finally  found  the  straw  that  breaks  the  camels  back  and  it  will  be  her  fault.  it  wouldn't  be  the  first  time,  and  it  won't  be  the  last,  but  the  thought  alone  chills  her  to  the  bone.  she  hopes,  truly,  that  he  still  looks  at  her  like  that  after  this.  "  yeah.  "  she  offers  him  a  laugh,  remembers  the  mishap  last  time  he  attempted  to  get  off  a  plane  quickly.  she  doesn't  want  to  talk  about  how  he's  good.  all  part  of  the  selfish  dread  in  how  he  might  not  be  soon.
"  but  i'd  protect  you.  "  she  lets  her  hand  rest  on  the  arm  rest  between  them,  decides  against  holding  his  hand.  she's  a  little  notorious  for  withholding  affection  when  she  has  something  to  tell  him.  it's  equal parts  self  sacrifice  because  all  she  wants  is  to  touch  him  and  fear  that  once  she  comes  out  with  what  she  has  to,  he  won't  want  to  touch  her.  she  shifts  closer  to  him  instead,  finds  yet  another  way  to  break her  own  rules,  and  looks  over  his  face.  better  late  than  never.  she  has  enough  of  him  now,  has  had  enough  of  him  and  memories  and  being  in  love  over  this  trip,  that  if  he  never  wants  to  see  her  again  she  has hope  she'll  survive.  "  i  have  to  tell  you  something.  "  it's  eating  her  alive.  she  loves  the  way  he  looks  at  her,  she  always  will,  but  the  longer  she  keeps  this  from  him,  the  more  she'll  wonder  if  she  really  deserves  it.  "  it's  about  your  mom.  "(edited)March 9, 2020

he  can't  help  the  way  his  smile  softens,  how  he  pictures  her  trying  to  protect  him  from  something  like  turbulence.   if  anyone  could  do  it,  he  knows  hope  mikaelson  is  the  one.   she  can  do  anything,  when  she  puts  her  mind  to  it.    he's  seen  that  first  hand.    but  he'd  meant  what  he  said;   he  was  good,   or  at  least  his  version  of  good.   (  maybe  less  good  than  your  average  person  but  still functional.  the  distinction  seems  important.  ) there's  no  ignoring  the  way  his  stomach  flutters  at  the  words  '  i  have  to  tell  you  something  '  —  historically,  if  you  look  back  on  things,  it  hasn't  led  to  the  best  of  revelations.     so  he's  nervous,  has  an  air  of  confusion  around  him  as  he  turns  to  look  at  her.   "  about  my  —  about  seylah  ? "    she  might  be  his  mom  but  the  title  doesn't  fit.    she  never  wanted  to  be  his  mom,   never  asked  for  the  cards  she  was  dealt;    he  can't  say  he  holds  anything  against  her.   or  he  doesn't  want  to  ...  knowing  what  he  knows  now.    (  what  he  sometimes  wishes  he  didn't.  )   "  what  is  it? about  seylah.  she  just  has  to  rip  the  bandage  off  for  both  their  sakes.  she  can't  dangle  news  about  his  mother  in  front  of  him  and  then  leave  him  guessing.  it's  selfless  enough  in  essence  for  her  to  push  forward.  she's  doing  this  because  she  loves  him,  because  he deserves  better  than  being  left  half  in  the  light.  "  remember  that  road  trip  we  took  to  kansas?  "  the  one  that  ended  in  spontaneous  and  unexplained  amnesia.  "  i  lied  when  i said i  didn't  remember  anything.  "  it's  not  even  a  lie  of  omission,  it's  a  direct  lie.  an  intentional lie  with  good intentions  but  an  intention  lie  none  the  less.  "  you  were  in  an  this  motel  room  with  her  when  we  found  you.  she  told  us  she dealt with  monsters  that  she  never  remembered.  "  she  leaves  out  the  part  about  not  knowing  who  landon's  father  is.  she  doesn't  need  to  dig  that  knife  in  deeper. "  i  caught  her  trying  to  leave  without  saying  goodbye  a  while  later.   we  thought  we could  stop  her,  give  this  monster  the  urn  and  follow  her.  we  even  got  to  triad.  "  almost.  "  but  they  had  traps  we  didn't  expect  and  by  the  time  we  woke  up,  she  was  already  gone.  "  she's  still  looking  at  him,  trying  to  swallow guilt  that's  all  her  own.  seylah  might  have  been  the  one  who  jumped,  who  erased  herself,  but  she's  the  one  who  kept  all  of  this  close  to  her  chest.  all  too  aware  of  what  it'd  do  to  landon  if  he  found  out.  "  i'm  so  sorry  i  didn't  tell  you,  landon.  i  should  have.  "  but  she didn't.  "  i  just  thought  i  could  save  you  from  knowing  what  that  --  this  feels  like.  "  she  did  for  a  time.  it  would've  almost  been  a  good  plan.  " but  i  couldn't.  and  i'm  so  sorry,  landon.  "March 10, 2020

of  course  he  remembers.   they'd  woken  up  in  a  field,  blasted  off  their  feet,  with  no  real  memory  on  the  hows  and  whys  of  how  they'd  gotten  there.  to  hear  that  it  was  seylah  ...  it  makes  sense.   it  explains  why  the  picture  went  missing,  how  he'd  lost  the  very  possession  he'd  always  clung  to  with  some  ferocity.   (  he'd  been  putting  the  pieces  together  since  that  talk  with  the  croatoan;   this  simply  confirms.  )  he  never  would  have  misplaced  it,  or  lost  track  of  its  whereabouts;    it  was  a  point  of  contention,  a  question  he'd  never  thought  he'd  see  answers  to.   knowing  the truth  ...  a  weight  lifts,  a  failure  he'd  never  really  deserved  lifting  with  it.   "  oh. "     it's  an  anti-climactic  answer,  he  knows  this,  but  it's  because  his  thoughts  are  moving  to  quickly  to  lock  down  into  words.   if  this  was  a  few  months  earlier,   if  he  didn't  know  then  what  he  knew   now,  he  thinks  he'd  be  upset.   he's   ...    not  happy,  but  that's  a  given.      they  don't  lie  to  each  other  but  she's  been  sitting  on  this  one  for  months.   (  ironic,  given,  he's  sitting  on  one  of  his  own;    one  he  knows  he  will  never  share.     he  knows  now,  some  secrets  are  too  heavy  to  burden  others  with.  )

* "  she  said  as  much,  when  i  saw  her. "    he'll  add  more  context  now,  given  there  are  no  heavy  emotional  revelations  hanging  over  their  heads  at  the  moment.   "  she  thought  she  was  giving  me  a  better  life.   i  can't  really  hate  her  for  that.   all  things  considered. "   he  can't  put  it  into  words,   can't  find  the  right  ways  to  twist  his  mouth  and  spew  the  horrors  that  live  there.   "  it's  not  like  —  she  didn't  choose  this. "   he  says  it  plainly,  clearing  his  throat  in  hopes  to  change  the  subject.    he's  ...  come  to  terms  with  things,  but  that  doesn't  mean  he's  okay.     "  i  understand  why  you  didn't  tell  me.   i  probably  wouldn't  have  told  me  either. "     he  can  say,  with  absolute  certainty,   on  the  other  side  of  the  looking  glass  that  he  would  have  done  the  same.     knowing   who  he  is,  what  he  is,  has  provided  some  much  needed  clarity  ...  but  the  connotations  that  associate,  the  harsh  reality,  is  something  he  doesn't  know  how  to  grapple  with.   he's  not  sure  he  ever  will.   "  it's  okay.  i  forgive  you. "    it's  true,  genuine as  he  reaches  and  squeezes  her  hand.   "  you  were  trying  to  protect  me. "     if  only  everything  was  that  easy,  that  demons  could  be  defeated  with  good  intentions  and  positive  intent.     "  what  i  don't  get  though  is  ...  we  all  forgot.    or  i  thought  we  did. she  holds  her  breath.  she  feels  selfish,  waiting  for  his  reaction,  waiting  for  inevitable  rejection,  when  this  isn't  about  her.  (  she  hates  the  way  her  mind  can  trick  her  ;  can  turn  everything  against  her.  she  hates  that  she  can't  stop  it.  )  "  oh.  "  she  still  doesn't  feel  like  she  can  breathe.  he  knows,  that's  good.  she  convinces  herself  this  boils  down  to  more  than  just  her  lies.  (  she'd  forgive  him  if  the  roles  were  reversed.  she  thinks  she  could  forgive  him  for  just  about  anything.  she  feels  fear  of  an  entirely  different  variety  rise  in her  throat.  )   she  knows  where  not  to  poke,  when  to  leave  the  insinuations  and  horrors  he  isn't  quite  describing  in  the  air.  "  she  told  me  that.  "  told  her  that  being  a  mother  was  never  on  her  list  of  things  to  do  before  she  died.  he  tells  her  he  understands  why  she  didn't  tell  him,  that  he  forgives  her.  she  can  breathe  again,  but  she  doesn't  feel  okay.   (  relief  might  flood  her  but  that  doesn't  mean  she  forgives  herself.  )
she  squeezes  his  hand  in  return,  almost  feels  like  she's  overcompensating  when  she  doesn't  need  to.  (  she  builds  every  moment  like  this  up  in  her  mind  but  never  knows  what to  do  with  the  climax.  )  "  i  won't  do  it  again.  "  when  she  promises,  it's  sincere.  it's  a  promise  she  can't  ensure,  one  she  shouldn't  be  making,  but  she  never  wants  to  destroy  the  way  he  looks  at  her.  he  changes  the  subject,  moves  on  to  why  she  remembers  and  he  doesn't,  and  she  wishes  they  were  in  his  room  at  school.  or  her  room  at  home.  not  thousands  of  feet  up  in  the  air.  "  i  don't  know.  "  it's  anti-climatic  in  turn,  followed  by  a  shrug  and  a  defeated  expression.  "  dr  saltzman  doesn't  either.  "  which  was  terrifying  in  and  of  itself.  "  all  i  know  is  when  i  woke  up  in  that  field,  i  remembered  everything.  "

INTRO: Landon Rose, born Robert Kyle Andrews, Jr., is the only male amongst a sea of women in his family. Immediately after he was born, Robert Sr. was taken with him, giving him the attention he wouldn’t often give his sisters. Since he was the youngest, he enjoyed being spoiled but as he grew up, he wondered why Robert was so nice to him and yet was so mean to everyone else. Slowly, probably much later than his sisters, he realized that his father was an awful person and that the only reason he received so much attention was because he was the one who carried his name. Once Robert left, the name also left a sour and bitter taste in his mouth, and he asked his sisters and mother to call him anything but Robert or Kyle. In the end, they all decided on a name that didn’t remind them of their father, but he wouldn’t be able to change it until he (and Kristy) were able to change their last names. He often struggles with the fact that he’s the spitting image of Robert and even though he knows his mother and sisters love him to death, he does wonder whether or not there’s a part within them that hates him because he looks exactly like the man who brought them so much pain and suffering. When he looks at his sisters, he sees Millie. When he looks at himself in the mirror, all he sees is Robert. He’s self-destructive, wondering if he’s meant to carry on the legacy of being a terrible man, much like Robert was - if he was named after him and looks like him, his destiny is to be like him, right? Lately, he’s been finding himself dealing drugs, though he doesn’t do any hard drugs - the only thing he does is smoke marijuana, along with his tendency to drink whiskey. He’s hiding all of this from his sisters, not wanting for them to worry for him.
