SpaceTime -- A brief history
SpaceTime is Australia’s most popular and respected astronomy and space science news program – averaging over two million downloads every year. We’re also number five in the United States. The show reports on the latest stories and discoveries making news in astronomy, space flight, and science. SpaceTime features weekly interviews with leading Australian scientists about their research. The show began life in 1995 as ‘StarStuff’ on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s (ABC) NewsRadio network. Award winning investigative reporter Stuart Gary created the program during more than fifteen years as NewsRadio’s evening anchor and Science Editor. Gary’s always loved science. He was the dorky school kid who spent his weekends at the Australian Museum. He studied astronomy at university and was invited to undertake a PHD in astrophysics, but instead focused on a career in journalism and radio broadcasting. Gary’s radio career stretches back some 34 years including 26 at the ABC. His first gigs were spent as an announcer and music DJ in commercial radio, before becoming a journalist, and eventually joining ABC News and Current Affairs. He was part of the team that set up ABC NewsRadio and became one of its first on air presenters. When asked to put his science background to use, Gary developed StarStuff which he wrote, produced and hosted, consistently achieving 9 per cent of the national Australian radio audience based on the ABC’s Nielsen ratings survey figures for the five major Australian metro markets: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth. That compares to the ABC’s overall radio listenership of just 5.6 per cent. The StarStuff podcast was published on line by ABC Science -- achieving over 1.3 million downloads annually. However, after some 20 years, the show finally wrapped up in December 2015 following ABC funding cuts, and a redirection of available finances to increase sports and horse racing coverage. Rather than continue with the ABC, Gary resigned so that he could keep the show going independently. StarStuff was rebranded as “SpaceTime”, with the first episode being broadcast in February 2016. Over the years, SpaceTime has grown, more than doubling its former ABC audience numbers and expanding to include new segments such as the Science Report -- which provides a wrap of general science news, weekly skeptical science features, special reports looking at the latest computer and technology news, and Skywatch – which provides a monthly guide to the night skies. The show is published three times weekly (every Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and available from the United States National Science Foundation on Science Zone Radio, and through both i-heart Radio and Tune-In Radio.

Smart Funding Solutions for Property Projects in Australia
Securing funding swiftly and effectively is crucial in the competitive Australian property market. Whether you're navigating time-sensitive real estate deals or embarking on large-scale construction, access to the right financial products can significantly shape the success of your venture. In this context, understanding the roles of Fast Caveat Loans Melbourne and Property Development Loans Australia is essential for developers, investors, and business owners alike.

Understanding Fast Caveat Loans in Melbourne
Melbourne’s booming property sector demands agility, and Fast Caveat Loans Melbourne are designed to meet that need. These short-term loans are secured against a property asset, allowing borrowers to access funds quickly without undergoing lengthy bank procedures. Typically used by property investors and business owners, caveat loans are ideal for bridging finance, emergency cash flow requirements, or urgent business investments.
Unlike traditional bank loans that require months of scrutiny and paperwork, caveat loans in Melbourne offer rapid turnaround times. Approval and funding can often happen within 24 to 72 hours, making them an excellent choice when timing is critical. These loans are also more flexible with credit history and income documentation, providing opportunities for a broader range of borrowers.
The Role of Property Development Loans in Australia
While caveat loans serve short-term financial needs, larger projects require a more structured and long-term solution. This is where Property Development Loans Australia become essential. These loans are designed specifically for the construction and development of residential, commercial, or mixed-use properties. They help cover costs ranging from land acquisition and planning to construction and final completion.
The Australian property development sector is evolving rapidly, and access to tailored financing solutions can make or break a project. Development loans typically provide staged funding aligned with project milestones, which helps ensure adequate cash flow throughout the construction process. Financial institutions assess the feasibility of the development, projected returns, and the experience of the developer before approving such loans.
Why These Loan Types Matter in Today’s Market
Combining the benefits of both fast and structured loan types allows borrowers to take advantage of market opportunities as they arise. For example, a developer might use a Fast Caveat Loan Melbourne to quickly secure a piece of land before competitors, then transition to a Property Development Loan Australia for the actual construction and development phases. This two-tiered strategy supports flexibility and continuity, crucial elements in successful property investment and construction.
Furthermore, with property prices on the rise and zoning regulations constantly changing, having the financial backing to act quickly gives developers a significant competitive advantage. Quick access to capital also means that renovations, redesigns, or project expansions can be implemented without delay.
Finding the Right Financial Partner
Navigating these financing options requires the support of a reliable and experienced financial provider. It’s not just about finding a lender who can provide funds; it’s about partnering with a team that understands the nuances of property development and can guide borrowers through the complexities of both short-term and long-term lending strategies.
In conclusion, whether you're eyeing a prime plot in Melbourne or managing a multi-stage development across Australia, having the right financing tools at your disposal is key. With smart planning and access to Fast Caveat Loans Melbourne and Property Development Loans Australia, you can confidently move forward in your property journey.

Instant Planning Info in Your Pocket: Try Pocket Zoner Pro
In today’s fast-paced property and development landscape, quick access to accurate planning data is no longer a luxury—it's essential. Whether it's zoning, overlays, land use permissions, or development constraints, having instant and reliable planning information can significantly streamline decision-making. This is where Pocket Zoner Pro stands out as a transformative solution.
Why Planning Information Matters More Than Ever
For investors, developers, planners, architects, and real estate professionals, local planning regulations are the foundation upon which viable projects are built. A minor oversight or misinterpretation of zoning rules can derail an entire project, causing delays, legal complications, or financial loss.
Navigating through government websites, interpreting planning schemes, and validating site-specific data can be time-consuming. Delays in accessing this information can reduce the speed at which professionals can respond to opportunities or mitigate risks. That’s why the need for an on-demand planning tool has never been greater.
What Makes Pocket Zoner Pro Unique
Pocket Zoner Pro delivers instant access to planning zone and overlay information directly from a mobile device or desktop. It offers streamlined insights into critical land use data without the need to dig through complex planning documents.
This tool provides:
Real-time planning scheme access Up-to-date data ensures that decisions are based on the current regulatory framework.
Property-specific zoning insights Users can enter a property address and instantly retrieve zoning classifications, overlays, and land use permissions.
Interactive maps and tools Dynamic mapping functions allow users to visualise zoning boundaries and contextual planning information with ease.
Cross-state compatibility Built for the Australian planning system, Pocket Zoner Pro covers multiple jurisdictions, reducing the need for multiple tools across different states or councils.
Who Benefits from Pocket Zoner Pro
The utility of Pocket Zoner Pro spans across a wide range of industries:
Real Estate Agents: Instantly determine development potential or planning restrictions to inform clients and buyers.
Developers: Evaluate project feasibility on-site without waiting for planning consultants.
Town Planners: Access quick references and reduce research time.
Architects: Understand spatial constraints and design parameters from the outset.
Investors: Make informed acquisition decisions with confidence.
For these professionals, time is not just money—it’s opportunity. By cutting down the hours spent gathering and validating zoning data, Pocket Zoner Pro delivers a significant competitive advantage.
Designed for the Australian Planning System
Planning regulations in Australia vary by state, and even between local governments. The fragmented nature of this system can often frustrate users who must consult multiple platforms to access basic planning information. Pocket Zoner Pro addresses this challenge by aggregating and simplifying planning data, tailored specifically for the Australian market.
Whether it’s a Melbourne inner-suburb, a Gold Coast development site, or a rural property in New South Wales, users can rely on consistent access to verified planning scheme data—without needing to interpret council-specific documentation from scratch.
Boost Efficiency and Reduce Risk
Manual interpretation of zoning documents introduces potential for human error. Even experienced professionals can overlook key details in planning overlays or misread codes due to their technical complexity.
Pocket Zoner Pro eliminates this risk by presenting clear, concise summaries of planning rules. This supports more confident decisions, better communication with stakeholders, and fewer costly missteps during the early stages of project assessment.
A Must-Have for Property Professionals
As the Australian property market becomes more competitive and regulation-driven, tools that enhance decision-making are becoming indispensable. Pocket Zoner Pro is more than a convenience—it is a necessity for anyone seeking clarity, accuracy, and speed in planning research.
Its role in empowering users with planning knowledge cannot be overstated. From site inspections to boardroom presentations, Pocket Zoner Pro ensures that essential planning information is always within reach.
Conclusion
The ability to access accurate and comprehensive planning data at a moment’s notice is critical in the property and development industry. Pocket Zoner Pro meets this need with a powerful, user-friendly platform that brings zoning information directly into the hands of professionals across Australia.
For those who demand speed, clarity, and reliability, Pocket Zoner Pro offers the ultimate solution—putting instant planning information exactly where it belongs: in your pocket.

Discover the Freedom of Living Small: Explore Tiny Homes Melbourne and Custom Built Tiny Home Options
In recent years, Australians have increasingly embraced a minimalist lifestyle that focuses on sustainability, affordability, and smart living. At the heart of this movement is the rising popularity of Tiny Homes Melbourne and the unique opportunity they offer through a custom built tiny home. These compact living spaces are not only stylish and functional but also a practical solution for housing challenges faced in urban and suburban areas of Melbourne.

Why Tiny Homes Are Booming in Melbourne
The tiny home trend has gained momentum across Australia, with Melbourne leading the way due to its growing population and soaring property prices. Many people are finding it difficult to enter the housing market or are simply choosing to live differently—downsizing without sacrificing comfort. Tiny Homes Melbourne offers an innovative solution: small, well-designed spaces that prioritize utility, sustainability, and financial freedom.
These homes, usually under 50 square meters, are perfect for singles, couples, retirees, or even small families looking for a simpler way of life. They’re also ideal as secondary dwellings, guest houses, backyard studios, or Airbnb rentals. The flexibility of design and placement makes them a popular choice for modern Australians who want to reduce their carbon footprint while maximizing lifestyle value.
Benefits of a Custom Built Tiny Home
A custom built tiny home goes beyond prefabricated models by offering personalized design elements tailored to your specific needs. Whether you’re looking for a fully off-grid lifestyle, luxury finishes, or a mobile structure that can move with you, customization brings your dream home to life on a smaller scale.
Here are some compelling advantages of choosing a custom built tiny home:
Personalized Layouts: Every inch matters in a tiny home. Custom-built options allow you to choose the layout that suits your lifestyle—whether that means a gourmet kitchen, spacious bathroom, loft-style bedroom, or built-in work-from-home office.
Eco-Friendly Living: Many custom tiny homes incorporate sustainable materials, solar panels, water-saving systems, and composting toilets. Living small naturally leads to a reduced ecological footprint, but custom designs let you go even greener.
Cost Efficiency: While the cost of a custom built tiny home may be slightly higher than a mass-produced unit, it still represents a fraction of the cost of a traditional home in Melbourne. Plus, you get exactly what you need without paying for unnecessary space or features.
Mobility and Flexibility: Want to move your home to a different suburb, a coastal retreat, or even a rural farm? Custom-built tiny homes can be designed as mobile units, giving you the freedom to relocate whenever you desire.
Unique Aesthetic Appeal: From contemporary Scandinavian styles to rustic cabins or boho-chic interiors, your home can reflect your personal style. Every custom detail—from cabinetry to lighting—can be handpicked.
Tiny Homes Melbourne: Local Expertise You Can Trust
Melbourne’s tiny home builders have developed a strong reputation for quality craftsmanship and innovative design. These professionals understand local regulations, climate considerations, and land use limitations that affect tiny home construction in Victoria.
When considering Tiny Homes Melbourne, it’s essential to work with a builder who can guide you through the entire process—from initial planning and design to council approvals and final delivery. Many companies also offer financing options and support for securing a location for your new home.
Key factors to look for when choosing a Melbourne-based builder include:
Experience in building both stationary and mobile tiny homes
Use of sustainable and durable materials
Transparent pricing and flexible design options
Strong customer reviews and a portfolio of completed projects
Real-Life Examples: How Melbourne Residents Are Living Tiny
Across Melbourne, individuals and families are making the shift to tiny living. From young professionals seeking an affordable first home, to retirees who want to downsize while staying close to family, Tiny Homes Melbourne are proving to be a smart investment.
One notable story involves a couple in the Dandenong Ranges who opted for a custom built tiny home on their property. Their home includes a wood-burning fireplace, a modern kitchenette, a loft sleeping area, and full off-grid capabilities. Not only did they save on housing costs, but they also now enjoy a minimalist, nature-connected lifestyle that promotes wellness and tranquility.
In another case, a Melbourne entrepreneur installed a luxury tiny home in her backyard and turned it into a stylish Airbnb, generating extra income while offering travelers a unique and eco-friendly stay.

Global 1 collapses and Greg Klopper crawls back under a rock
Ahhh, yes! This blog received a very welcome Christmas present with Greg Klopper and Global 1 finally reaching the end of the road. Not with a bang (at least not yet), but rather with a whimper. Let me explain…
Recapping the last few months
Back in mid-August we heard the news that ASIC was going after land banking scams. Their main focus initially was Jamie McIntyre’s schemes, but they flagged clearly that the Global 1 scam was in their crosshairs too:
Similar schemes operating in Melbourne’s outer west and spruiked by a separate but closely related property firm, Market First, have so far avoided ASIC action.
Feldman has been a key player in both 21st Century and Market First. Insiders confirm that she plays an identical marketing role in both Market First and 21st Century and has had a role in most of schemes.
The growing list of projects have so far failed to produce a single house, much less the helipads, sky lounges, and waterfront lifestyles depicted in brochures and videos used to promote them.
The outlandish claims of “lifestyle” precincts and “architectural masterpieces” in the backblocks of Melbourne’s outer west are now something of a joke among the property and development industry.
Fairfax Media has confirmed from several well-placed sources that at the very time Market First was stepping up pressure on investors to tip money into the Foscari scheme, those behind it were trying to on-sell their own project.
Then late September saw a day of evidence on land banking scams given to the senate enquiry into financial advice. Three victims of Greg Klopper & Rowan Burn’s scam gave evidence on how they were sucked in and fleeced of their hard-earned money:
And then, finally, in mid December came the news we’d all been waiting for: at last ASIC was finally moving on the Global 1 scam property companies. Presumably they’d been preoccupied with Jamie McIntyre, but at last had enough free bandwidth to sort out Greg and co too.
A massive land banking scam linked to notorious property spruiker Henry Kaye is in tatters after the corporate regulator moved to wind up housing projects in Melbourne’s outer west and Bendigo.
The two projects – among about 10 such schemes in Victoria and Queensland – are known as Foscari in Wyndham and Hermitage in Bendigo.
The ASIC statement noted that Foscari and Hermitage projects were not close to completion and “appear to be incapable of completion due to the financial position of the development companies”.
The focus of a Fairfax investigation early this year, the Foscari project had been spruiked as an “iconic, architectural masterpiece” by shady marketing firm Market First. But years after it was flogged in manipulative and misleading seminars it remains a disused rubbish dump in Palmers Road, Truganina.
In March, Fairfax Media revealed that ASIC was investigating a string of projects linked to Kaye and or his sister, Julia Feldman. The inquiry followed Fairfax revelations in January about Foscari and a second Melbourne project, Veneziane in Melton.

He studied astronomy at university and was invited to undertake a PHD in astrophysics, but instead focused on his career in journalism and radio broadcasting. Gary’s radio career stretches back some 34 years including 26 at the ABC. He worked as an announcer and music DJ in commercial radio, before becoming a journalist and eventually joining ABC News and Current Affairs.

Cbus sells off North Sydney site in $240m deal to ALAND

Super fund Cbus, Neil Werrett’s Galileo Group and Justin Brown’s Abadeen have abandoned their long-held plans to develop a $700m apartment tower near the Sydney Harbour Bridge, quietly unloading the site to private residential developer ALAND.
Sources estimated the sale of the East Walker Street site would have netted the $100bn Cbus super fund and its joint venture partners about $240m, having outlaid $180m for the site four years ago.
Cbus, which has several apartment projects in Sydney and Melbourne on its books, acknowledged the sale on Wednesday. The other vendors are high-profile developers, with Mr Werrett known for being racehorse Black Caviar’s managing owner, and Mr Brown involved in Abadeen’s luxury property empire.
The sale involves one of the largest development sites to trade this year, with ALAND expected to finetune the pre-existing approvals to build two residential towers on the site, including a 30-storey high-end luxury tower and a second tower accommodating essential workers including nurses, police and firefighters.
One of Australia’s larger private developers, the low-profile ALAND is presently building unit towers across Sydney in Gosford, Harris Park, Schofields and Edmondson. It has also picked up projects in Castle Hill and Parramatta out of the empire of fugitive developer Jean Nassif.
It is understood ALAND had been looking for a city site for some time, with the East Walker Street site purchased in an off-market deal. The transaction was negotiated by Ben Stewart of SRM and Ben Wicks of CBRE. Both agents declined to comment.
In a statement, ALAND said it would deliver a world-class luxury residential project following the acquisition of the site fronting 173-179 Walker Street and 11-17 Hampden Street.
ALAND plans 239 apartments across two towers, with the high amenity 30-storey main tower comprising 161 luxury apartments.
The main tower will also feature exclusive residents-only private club-style facilities such as a rooftop pool, sauna, private dining, cellar, lounge, gym, studio and work from home spaces.
About 70 per cent of the apartments in the 30-storey main tower will feature uninterrupted, never to be built out views of Sydney Harbour with outlooks towards the Harbour Bridge, and Sydney Opera House.

ALAND owner and founder Andrew Hrsto says that East Walker Street will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for buyers including empty nesters, families and professionals.
“We have been searching across Sydney for at least 18 months, trying to find a dream site which would allow ALAND to create a stunning luxury offering for buyers reflecting our commitment to the highest-quality product featuring world-class finishes throughout,” he said.
The East Walker Street site is also situated only a block away from the newly opened Victoria Cross Metro Station.
ALAND chief executive George Tadrosse says construction will start as early as possible, with full construction scheduled to begin in January 2026.
Apartment pricing has not yet been fixed.
At one stage Cbus Property, Galileo and Mr Brown’s Abadeen were proposing to develop 263 apartments on the North Sydney site. But gaining development approval has been difficult for Cbus and its partners, which were forced back to the drawing board after a “top-heavy” apartment tower was proposed for the contentious site in 2022.
The co-developers lodged an appeal with NSW’s Land and Environment Court in 2023 but later withdrew it.
In mid-2021 when Cbus Property, Galileo and Abadeen bought the site from developer Avenor, the joint venture partners said they were attracted to the newly rezoned site because it gave them an opportunity to create a premium residential offering, ideally suited to downsizers, young families and professionals. They engaged FJC Studio, to create the 28-storey plans for the site the following year.
The newer Rothelowman-designed scheme has an estimated $256m development cost and was for two buildings, which addressed issues highlighted in the original “top heavy” design.
About 80,000 workers are expected in North Sydney by 2036 with plans to usher in a new generation of homeowners, businesses and visitors and transform it into a second CBD.

Trusted Soil Testing and LCA Reports in Bass Coast and Melbourne
When it comes to land development, agriculture, or construction, understanding the quality and characteristics of soil is a crucial first step. Whether you're a property developer in Melbourne or a homeowner in Bass Coast, accurate soil testing and comprehensive LCA (Land Capability Assessment) reports help ensure safe, sustainable, and compliant land use. At The 4 Spheres, we specialize in providing professional Soil Testing in Bass Coast and reliable LCA soil reports in Melbourne tailored to meet regulatory requirements and project goals.

Why Soil Testing is Essential
Soil testing is not just a regulatory requirement; it is a smart investment in the future of any land-based project. In Bass Coast, where coastal conditions and varied soil types present unique challenges, thorough soil testing can:
Determine site suitability for building or development.
Identify drainage and water retention issues.
Prevent structural damage due to unstable soil.
Support septic system design and implementation.
Assist with agricultural productivity planning.
Whether you're planning to build a home, install a septic system, or develop agricultural land, a professional soil test provides the data needed to make informed decisions.

Detailed soil reports to guide your development plans.
We understand the regional characteristics of Bass Coast soil, which often includes sandy or loamy textures with varying levels of salinity. Our detailed analysis can help identify if your property needs soil conditioning, engineered footings, or a specific type of septic system.
What is an LCA Soil Report?
An LCA Soil Report in Melbourne is a document that outlines the suitability of a site for wastewater management, especially where there is no connection to a sewer system. It is a key requirement for permit approvals in unsewered areas and for building permits across many councils in Victoria.
LCA (Land Capability Assessment) reports are based on soil testing and environmental assessments. They evaluate factors like:
Soil permeability and drainage.
Slope stability and erosion risk.
Groundwater levels and proximity to water sources.
Flood risk and climatic conditions.
The purpose of an LCA is to ensure that any on-site wastewater system, such as a septic tank, can be installed and operated without posing risks to public health or the environment.
LCA Soil Reports in Melbourne: What We Offer
The 4 Spheres provides tailored LCA Soil Reports in Melbourne for residential, commercial, and rural properties. Our approach combines local knowledge with environmental engineering principles to deliver reports that comply with the guidelines set by the EPA Victoria and local councils.
