Ibrahim and Hatice's wedding in the show is the grandest, happiest, most feastful wedding of the series, with as many celebrations as can be. It's obvious why, of course: given the show has the most "foreign politics" plots at this very point, we have to have separate moments of the ambassadors and the people of power acknowledging that whole ordeal, it's the first ever royal wedding we see in the series and it's both a payoff of so many episodes of development of Ibrahim and Hatice's story, a high culmination point, and a setup of the right upcoming close matter of the Jannisary rebellion and the future, more far looming (or that's how it merely looks like) issues of Hatice and Ibrahim's relationship (Gülfem's usual prominence is set aside for a bit to make place for Nigar); each wedding in the show signifies a major change to the status quo, but namely Hatice and Ibrahim's wedding accentuates that the most, as it doesn't just have someone permanently moving to a new place/castle (Hatice here and in E94, Nigar in E44-5, Mihrimah in E99 etc.), giving birth (Mihrimah to Ayşe Hümaşah after her own wedding, but Hürrem to Selim during Hatice's wedding) or getting wounded (Ibrahim during Hürrem's wedding, mirroring E10-E11 a bit) and new twists on established dynamics (not just the wed couples but also Mahidevran and Hürrem, SS and Mustafa, Hürrem and Leo in E17; Nigar and Ibrahim in E17 and E44-5; Hürrem, Hatice and Ibrahim, Hürrem and all the others in general in E42-3; Ibrahim and Matrakci in E44-5 etc.), but it also has a timeskip, showing the older kids to literally stress that a next stage of the characters' lives is coming forth. We get to see what a wedding is like for the first time, in its fullest and most detailed to accustomize ourselves even more in this world, so this may allow for the other weddings to lean on a more individual focus of the characters of the wedding themselves and what the wedding entails for them and those around them, the celebrations dimish and even the time the wedding's given could do so too depending on the narrative point of said wedding (more time could be given to the aftermath of the wedding than the wedding itself like in Nigar and Matrakci's case), formal weddings for ulterior, political purposes and alliances increase much more (while Hatice and Ibrahim's wedding is one of the biggest exceptions in the series and it's fascinating that we begin with it) and we get to have more bittersweetness or outright tragedy if the wedding is such for the characters. The weddings aren't only happy, they can also be like a funeral and we gradually arrive at a stage where we can actually observe that, not having it simply be hinted at (like Hürrem and Hatice's respective weddings to Lala Kasim's son and Mehmet Celebi were hinted at). The grander yet more interpersonal stakes and the bigger lean inside the empire are punctuated by the weddings as well.
{All that is to also say that it's sad that Hürrem claims that she won't get the wedding Hatice gets but Mihrimah will get it instead, when precisely hers and SS's wedding is the closest to Hatice and Ibrahim's in terms of massiveness, unprecedentedness (a big shift in traditions due to a love match as well, or rather, an even bigger one as a sultan hasn't freed and married a concubine for a looong time), structure (ceremony, feasts for the people as well as for those around the sultan and a major parallel event during the wedding, in this case Ibrahim's wounding) and feel (yes, a sorrowful element is around for everyone other than the married people this time instead of the everpresent happiness in Ibrahim and Hatice's wedding that contrasts only with Mahidevran's anguish that isn't even about the wedding, but an even bigger joy is presented for Süleiman and especially Hürrem; in E42 itself, the focus is all on the double joy with the ongoing princely circumcision and the surprising wedding in the very end, while E17 has an ongoing wedding and the surprising birth, so the focus shifts more), while Mihrimah's is a genuinely sorrowful wedding, more parallel to Hatice's E94 wedding than her E17 wedding instead.}

Chapter 54
It's been a while since I mentioned anything about Monster Musume. So, there is another chapter about Monster Girls
==========
Wedding Bells
We finally set a date for Papi and I to get married.
Since, according to Centaur society, Cerea and I are already considered married, we don't have to get married. Although we are planning to have a small wedding ceremony, because Cerea would like to have a wedding anyway, although it will just be for show.
With Suu being technically an illegal alien we can't get married legally. Although Suu wants to be my wife as well. Or at least she is following what Papi and Cerea are doing and copying them, but it really doesn't matter what her reasoning is. So, we will have an unofficial wedding for Suu and I as well. Or another wedding just for show.
With all the weddings taking place over the next few months, Curie wants to marry me as well. So, we have to hold another wedding. Heavy sigh.
That will give me two legal wives, Papi and Curie. One, legal wife by way of centaur tradition, but unofficial for the number of wives I can have and a second, unofficial wife Suu. That means I could marry two more Monster Girls if I wanted to. Although I don't see that happening. At least not in Japan. Now I could marry some or all of the girls on Pern, but so far, they are all happy with just being my girlfriends and me being their boyfriend. But that could change in the future. They all know a lord Holder only has one wife, so they don't want me to 'choose' between any of them. As it is now, they are all equal and I want to keep it that way.
On Pern I am a Lord Holder so I will probably have to get married to have a legitimate heir to hand the Hold over to. As if that's going to happen, ha ha.
I'm going to leave all of the details to the wedding to the girls, including Miia and Rachnera. Even Smith will be brought in to help out, since it was her idea that Kim or I marry one or more of the girls as a test to see how a human and a monster girl work out getting married and living together as man and wife. Although I'm going to give my opinion when I need to or want to. I'm sure Miia and Cerea will get too excited and might go overboard with the wedding plans.
To prevent any fighting of who I will marry first, I had a talk with the girls, and we finally agreed that I would marry them in order of when I met them. That means I'll marry Papi first then Cerea, next will be Suu and last but not least, Curie. We also agreed that each wedding would be hold one-month apart. That way there wouldn't be an anniversary every week or two in a short time. This way They each get their special day all to themselves.
The girls have been working steadily finding a venue for the wedding along with someone to perform the wedding ceremony. They had to talk to Smith about that because everyone they talked to was against marring a human to a monster girl.
Papi's picture was put in the local newspapers with our wedding announcement. Invitations were sent out. Although there weren't many invited. Of course, Kim, Rachnera, Mero, Miia and Lala were invited along with Cerea, Suu and Curie. The members of the MON Squad, Zombina, Tio, Manako, Dapple and Smith were all invited as well. Smith suggested we invite her boss and a handful of other people. So, the total number of people invited is under twenty people. Plus, a photographer to take our wedding pictures and a newspaper photographer and reporter to do an article about the first human liminal wedding.
We would have invited Papi's mother, but… she is a harpy, thus a birdbrain and the last time she came by wasn't to bad but it wasn't real good either.
Since neither Papi nor I are Japanese, we agreed to go with a traditional western wedding with a touch of Japanese Influence. Papi's dress will be a red kimono with birds on it. I'll be wearing a black kimono with white cranes on it with black hakama pants and a white dress shirt.
On the day of our wedding, we all met up at the hall we had rented. Since we were doing mainly a western wedding, Kim was my best man and Suu was Papi's maid of honor.
Papi was bouncing around as she walked down the aisle in her excitement.
We exchanged vows and rings, and the clergy told us we were man and wife. Although he stuttered some when he said 'wife'. No real surprise since this was the first marriage, he, or anyone, had performed between a human male and a monster girl.
After the wedding we all went to the reception hall. Before anything else could be done, Papi ran around the room giving out the gifts we had bought for all of our guests. That is one of the Japanese traditions we followed, buying and giving gifts to everyone that attended the wedding. I believe the gifts would normally be placed at the tables where the guests set at. But with there being no more than twenty people at the wedding. I didn't see any reason to stop Papi from handing the gifts out herself. I even got involved and held several of the gift packages and followed Papi vas she handed them out. Even though everyone there knew who we were. Papi kept introducing me as her husband. I think she was getting a kick out of telling everyone that I was her husband as well as she was having fun doing it.
We finally were able to get away and start our honeymoon. I ported us to Yellowstone Park, in Wyoming. It is a place Papi hasn't been to before. I've been to Yellowstone before, but it had been many years.
We don't need a car because we both have Normalization on us so we can fly where we want to go, and no one will think anything is out of the ordinary. Plus, America also is trying to integrate liminal's into society, so there are not a lot of monster girls in America, but there are enough that it is not too big of a surprise when anyone sees Papi the Happy Harpy.
We stopped at Mammoth Hot Springs, Lower Geyser Basin, Old Faithful, Geyser Basin, we flew along Yellowstone Lake, Mud Volcano and Sulpher Caldron, that was smelly of course, The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and Canyon village. We spent two days at the park.
We made sure we picked up souvenirs for ourselves and all of our friends. And we took lots of pictures and videos. I was able to take selfies of Papi and I with the camera by using my telekinesis. The pictures looked more natural that way.
Then we flew over Beartooth Pass towards Billings, MT, then on over to Mount Rushmore.
We didn't need to rent hotel rooms because I would just open a Picket Dimension for us to spend the night in.
After Mount Rushmore we flew on over to Washington DC so we could see the Smithsonian Museums then down to the OBX, or the Outer Banks of NC.
We had fun gliding on the wind currents coming off the ocean in the OBX. We stopped at the Wright Brother's memorial, The Lost Colony, Festival Park aka Ice Plant Island, and the NC Aquarium along with many stores we stopped at and had a look around.
I think Papi had more fun flying everywhere then she did seeing all of the sights.
After that I ported us back home to Japan.
==========
Marrying Cerea
Even though I had just married Papi, I made sure I spent plenty of time with Cerea, Suu and Curie. I didn't want any of them to think I was not wanting to spend time with them or ignoring them since I had married Papi.
While Papi and I were on our honeymoon, Cerea, Curie, Smith, Rachnera, Miia, Tio, Manako, Dapple and Zombina all started preparations for the wedding between Cerea and me. Although when Papi and I arrived back home. Papi got involved in helping planning the wedding as well. I believe Papi had more fun helping to plan Cerea's and my wedding then she did planning her own wedding. Papi also gave Cerea ideas of where she and I could go for our honeymoon.
Cerea's wedding dress will be an altered kimono to fit her horse half as well as her human half. It will be white with Japanese style mountains, villages, trees and rivers in it.
This time my Kimono will be burgundy with white and a burgundy striped hakama pants and a white dress shirt.
As before Kim will be my best man while Curie will be Cerea's maid of honor.
The same people were invited for the wedding between Cerea and me as was invited to Papi and my wedding. We are using the same venue, but this time since it is not an official wedding Rachnera will be performing the wedding ceremony. As well as a photographer.
Everything was about the same as when I married Papi. The wedding went well. Rachnera did a good job performing the wedding ceremony.
Cerea and I bought gifts for the wedding guests. Although this time we put them out on the reception tables instead of handing them out.
For our honeymoon I took Cerea to a ren-fair and an SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) event. After that we went to the Grand Canion. I ported us to the bottom of the trail the mules use to go down on. And we camped out for a few days. Well, I'm not sure you could call it camping, since we used one of my PDs to stay in at night.
I spent over half the time we were out and about in my Centaur form so Cerea wouldn't feel out of place and so we would be about the same height.
Like I did with Papi. I took plenty of pictures, and Cerea took quite a few pictures and videos as well. I kept the human half of the centaur as my normal human form and used my Dutch Heavy Draft horse form as my horse half.
After that I ported us back home.
==========
Marrying Suu
Marrying Suu would be different. Suu had already seen how the wedding goes by watching when Papi and I were married and when Cerea and I were married. But with Suu being Suu there would definitely be some surprises or changes.
First Suu's wedding dress would be a raincoat because even with her extra durability, she still gets regular clothing wet and slimy. So, we might have to find a raincoat in a color Suu likes then either paint or use markers to put designs on it.
Next problem is where should Suu and I go for our honeymoon? Suu does like going out but she's more of a home body. So, we could spend a week in one of my PDs just being together. Plus, with Suu still learning how human society works taking her out in public to tourist spots could lead to problems or even some trouble.
Suu's raincoat 'wedding dress' was white with pictures of flowers, fans, trees and animals on it. All the pictures were painted on by all of the girls so there were different qualities of artwork. Even Kim and I painted a picture or two on it. But Suu loved it because her friends helped her make it.
To save a little money I wore the same outfit I wore when I married Papi. A black kimono with white cranes on it with black hakama pants and a white dress shirt.
Rachnera performed the wedding ceremony again. The wedding went very well. Suu walked down the aisle with a big smile on her face swaying back and forth. Papi was her maid of honor or would that be matron of honor. Doesn't really matter. Even though Suu and I were getting married Papi was as excited as Suu was if not more so. when Papi walked down the isle, walk would be the wrong work because Papi was bouncing and almost dancing down the aisle in her excitement at Suu and I getting married.
Suu didn't care who was invited to the wedding so it was decided that only the girls would be invited. That included, Smith and the MON Squad, and we held the wedding on the back patio in the PD. Plus, a photographer.
After the reception I created another PD for Suu and I to spend out honeymoon in. I took Suu to Yellowstone Park. I thought she would like seeing the hot springs and geysers, and she did. Although I had to explain to her how they worked and that she wasn't supposed to copy how the hot springs or geysers worked with her own body. Suu does like 'drinking' sparkling water and letting the bubbles flow through her body, so I let her do that to be like a hot spring when she wants to.
Suu didn't really understand what a honeymoon was or what it is for. Because of that she wanted to spend some time with Papi as well as me. So Papi spent many hours in our honeymoon PD with Suu and me. I didn't care because I just wanted Suu to be happy and playing games with Papi on the gaming system makes her happy. Besides since I didn't really know where to take Suu other than Yellowstone Park. Having Papi there to play games with Suu and to spend time with me made it a fun honeymoon.
==========
Marrying Curie
I think marrying Curie will be the most normal wedding of the lot. I'm not complaining mind you, it's just an observation. But since I'd changed Curie's wings to normal arms, she is the most human looking girl of the bunch.
They were able to get the person that performed Papi and my wedding to do the ceremony for Curie and me. Although we had to have Smith talk to him about the new law that allows a human male to marry up to four liminal girls.
both Currie's and my kimonos are similar in looks. They are both navy blue with different color fans on them and each fan has a different picture on them. the main difference is I will be wearing navy blue hakama pants and a white dress shirt.
Curie's picture was put in the paper with our wedding announcement. Again Kim, Rachnera, Mero, Miia and Lala were invited along with Cerea, Suu and Curie. The MON Squad, Zombina, Tio, Manako, Dapple and Smith were all invited along with her boss and a few of other people. So, the total number of people invited is under twenty people. Plus, the photographer and a videographer as well.
The day of our wedding Curie was walking on air. Curie never thought she would find anyone that would love her or even want to be around her because of her being a vampire. But she not only found someone to love her, but she found several friends that cared deeply about her as well.
Curie chose Cerea as her matron of honor and I had Kim as my best man again. Because Curie doesn't want anyone to know she is a vampire, she kept her extra arms out to prove she was a monster girl even if very few people know what kind of a monster girl she really was.
I suggested to Rachnera that she find out what she needed to do to be able to officiate weddings so she could perform weddings for monster girls, since she had performed the wedding for Cerea, me and Suu. Rachnera liked the idea.
"I will talk to Ms. Smith the next time I see her." Rachnera told me.
The wedding ceremony went very well. Curie looked lovely, but then all my wives look lovely to me. That's difficult to get used to, wives, four of them even if only two are considered legal. We had lots of fun at the reception. Both curie and I had to stop Papi from handing out the gifts to the guests. Although Curie gave in and let Papi help because she was so excited. I think Papi was almost as excited as Curie was that Curie and I were married.
For our honeymoon we went to the OBX or the Outer Banks of North Caralina. We saw where the Wright brothers flew their plain. The Lost Colony, where the first English settlers arrived then they disappeared, and no one knows what happened to them. We walked up the Currituck Beach light house or would that be we climb up the light house because it was a long way up. We also visited the NC Aquarium and played miniature golf. And of course, we spent time on the beach and swimming. And as usual we took plenty of pictures and videos to remember our honeymoon by and so everyone else could see, as well as buying souvenirs for ourselves and everyone back home.
So we wouldn't have to pay for a hotel to stay at, I opened a portal to a PD for us to stay in.
Now all we have to do is report to Smith how our marriages work out. Although with Smith coming by to eat and for coffee, she will be able to see for herself how a human and monster girls being married works out. I'm sure she will use that for an excuse to come by more often so she can get more free meals.
Smith told us she does a lot of work, but she does not get any extra money for all of her work. That is why she says she comes over for free meals, but I also think she is kind of lazy and doesn't want to make her own meals. So, I'm guessing that is another reason she comes over quite a lot to eat.

ABOUT
Lale Kaplan's parents were a young couple who had a ton of early issues but seemed to figure it out. However, there was always the undercurrent that something wasn't quite alright.
The Kaplan's did their best despite their issues and filled their children's lives with wonder and love. Despite their issues, Lale and her older sister never wanted for anything where their parents were concerned.
Lale grew up very determined and with a strong desire to be everything her parents claimed she was. She did tumbling, cheerleading, and ballet and pushed herself in everything she did. Lale was adaptable. She could seamlessly fit into any group taking on traits of those around her. This meant it was often difficult to get to know Lale on a deep level, and sometimes she thought she preferred it this way.
The closest person in Lale's life outside of her sister was her mother. She admired her spirit and every whimsical bit of Azra. However, when Lale was a child, her mother left one day and never returned. She knew by then Azra was unhappy in her life but to actually leave was a terrible shock.
None was more shocked than her father, whose health declined, and eventually, the man passed, leaving the Kaplan siblings without a parent. This opened the door for Miray, her aunt, to move in and step in as a legal guardian.
Miray was only a guardian in the legal term. In reality life never recovered and was a uniquely terrible experience where through her grief and anger, Miray was never able to be what the kids deserved. Miray was irresponsible, and the relationship between her and the children was strained and untrusting.
After getting pregnant at 16, her boyfriend and Lale stole a ton of money (money that was technically left by her father) and got it to her sistet, who was struggling more and had been talking about running away. Lale believed the money would get him a head start and some safety net.
Life quickly spiraled after having her son. From her sister's constant woes ( a fact Lale always blamed herself for), a wedding to the father of her child, and the following affairs, injuries, and more, Lale has felt like she's been swept through life the last several years.
In between it all, Lale has obtained her doctorate in music and carved out private passions for herself. She never imagined she'd return to Half Moon Bay but the opportunity for Bennet's career and to take over her childhood home felt too good to pass up. For better or worse, she and her family are back.
QUICK FACTS
Lale was raised Muslim and still holds a lot of traditions of her faith but is largely non-practicing

Fiction Recommendation 16
It’s a new year, so let’s start it off with a round of fiction recommendation! I’ll focus on a pairing that I’ve recently found much attraction to: Lan XiChen x Jiang Cheng from Modaozushi.
Disclaimer: As with previous recommendations, the fictions are recommended based on my personal liking and not listed in any particular order other than when I read them. I also apologize for crude summaries...I just want to spread the XiCheng love >w<
Without further ado, please find the recommendations below:
Canon

The story occurs post-mdzs ending: A new sect rises to take over the smaller clans in the northwest, posing as a threat to Jin Ling. Just what is the secret behind this new sect whose disciples only have 25 years to live?
*Warning: open-ended ending that takes a turn for the unexpected; also, there are 3-4 original characters involved.
2. 心澄则灵 by  梦入芙蓉浦
Lan XiChen is on a mission to investigate rumors regarding sightings of a female ghost near a mountainous region. There he found Jiang Cheng in the physical body of his seven-year-old self, possessing a child mentality by day and his older mentality by night. 7. 世界第一宗主殿下 by 二桶家的少侠
There’s a lotus flower growing on Jiang Cheng’s chest, and Lan XiChen is the only one that can see it. He’ll do whatever it takes to ensure that the lotus flower blossoms. One-shot.
8.  魔镜魔镜告诉我 by  小楫轻舟
A spell-gone-wrong turns Jiang Cheng into a woman. As a result, he--she--he has to find out the source of the spell and return to his original body. *Also contains WangXian.
9. 当被伴郎团挡在外面时新郎心里在想些什么 by  别鹊惊枝
Joy to the newly engaged couple Lan XiChen and Jiang Cheng! Except WuXian has other ideas up his sleeves regarding the wedding tradition of the groom overcoming challenges to marry his would-be bride. And the Lan sect is not about to go down with a fight. Humor, fluffy one-shot.
AU
1. 隐琳琅 by  别开枪我真的是个小号
ABO-verse in the original setting (semi-canon?) - All through his life Jiang Cheng has kept his second ‘gender’ as a secret, knowing that the prospect of an omega as a sect leader would threaten Lotus Pier’s standing in the cultivation world. Yet no matter how hard he tried to keep things under wrap, there are those out there who seeks to expose him, and possibly, make him their mate.
*Warning for R18 and some dubious content; original character involved. The follow-up story is still in progress and can be found here --> 鹊梭织
The author’s more recent work involving supernatural in a modern AU setting is also quite interesting thus far, you can find the link here --> 邻居
2.  蚀骨之夜 by  别鹊惊枝
Mysterious bombs and bloody gifts all point towards a planned revenge. But who is the target? Jiang Cheng, or Lan XiChen? Police x CEO AU
3. 凤求凰 by Jessica卡卡
When Jiang Cheng was given a second chance at life, he vowed to aright things again. However, things didn’t go as he planned, especially with his new identity as an omega and fiancé of Lan XiChen. Just as it seems that history was repeating itself again, Jiang Cheng found means to change the trajectory.
Semi-canon leaning more towards AU; ABO-verse (**contains mpreg at the end and light dubcon)
4.江总,包养明星吗 by  微玖
CEO Jiang contends that he has everything in life except a celebrity lover. So he turns his eyes towards one of the top stars - Lan XiChen. Fluffy humorous one-shot.
5. 不知所起 by  金凌舅妈
Jiang Cheng kept his identity as an omega secret from the cultivation world. A run-in with an enemy forced him into heat, followed by an unplanned pregnancy giving birth to twins. Lan XiChen happens to be around the area when Jiang Cheng went into heat, and as father to the twins, he would go the extra mile to win Jiang Cheng’s heart.
Semi-canon, ABO-verse (**contains mpreg/children)
6. And I'll Be Picking Up Bottles With You On New Year's Day by  messenger18
Jiang Cheng's been dragged (unwillingly) along to a New Year's party by his older brother. Slightly drunk and very unhappy, he's salty as all heck and raging at the world. Enter Lan Huan, and a little tradition known as the 'New Year's Kiss'. One-shot.
*Contains WangXian
7. Words by  PTchan
The one where Jiang Cheng is luckier than Wei WuXian when it comes to love. One-shot soulmate AU.
8. we all need a little love by  kichiya
Jiang Cheng's ongoing tug-of-war with the fates lands him right with Lan Xichen.  One-shot fluff.
9. 佳偶天成 by  研夜
The role of a prince includes disguising as a commoner to experience their hardships. Lan Xichen was touring through Yunmeng when he was ‘kidnapped’ by bandits and mistaken for an omega. One-shot; ABO-verse
10. 瞧瞧,别人家的奉旨成婚! by  我要改名我叫中号哥哥
In order to suppress the power of the Jiang and Lan family, the emperor decreed that Lan Xichen and Jiang Cheng marry. Just when everyone thought that the newly-wed couple would end in tragedy, they defied ‘expectations’ to show that they are indeed intended for one another.
11. 晚来涣汝名 by  二桶家的少侠
Since his birth, misfortunes followed closely on Jiang Cheng’s heels, ranging from small burns to the loss of his family. Things took a turn when a spirit named Lan Xichen appeared. As Jiang Cheng finally prospered on his path to become an internationally-celebrated violinist, he met a 19-year old high schooler by the name of Lan Huan, the heir of a large jewelry company...and the recipient of his misfortunes. Reincarnation AU.
12. 报答平生未展眉 by  别鹊惊枝
Under the misconducts and tyranny of the rising third prince, Jiang Cheng was hired to assassinate one of the ministers in court. However, said minister Lan convinced Jiang Cheng to spare his life, because he is the only one with the means of culling the prince’s misdeeds. One-shot, BE for the main story and HE for the omake.
I’m also currently following the writer’s other fic: 真爱的味道是玫瑰桃子派. Short summary: Lan XiChen is an alpha who is allergic to omegas’ pheromones, and Jiang Cheng is an omega who can’t smell alphas’ pheromones. The former was overjoyed when he found out that he was not allergic to the latter. However, being the police that he is, Jiang Cheng suspects that Lan XiChen is involved in recent murder cases. ABO-verse.
13. 今天的江澄抓住重点了吗?by  漻一彦
Pet shop owner x flower shop owner AU. One-shot general XiCheng fluff~

I was expecting from these sister powerhouses @%)——!when is prom season
If you're anything like me, you find it hard to throw anything out you may use later, especially clothes and shoes. It seems like some sygdljdress20112 fashions go out of style one decade, just to reappear in another. Of course, some items never come back and some were never even meant to be! However, when fashion does bring styles back, vintage clothing is the best in these situations; the second- and third-time-around just doesn't seem to have that same vibe as the originals traditional flower girl dresses. Here are some of my favorite pieces of vintage clothing down through the years ?C some things never go out of style! The Spring/Summer Runway by Le Grand Wedding and Z Wedding D'sign in Chijmes Hall was every bit the high fashion showcase I was expecting from these sister powerhouses when is prom season. While the show was inspired by flowering gardens, the similarities between this runway and most other bridal runways in Singapore ended there, as Le Grand Wedding and Z Wedding D'sign took the theme and ran wild with it. The seeds of the garden theme grew to inspire a collection based on mythical sea beds and hard, strong silhouettes balanced with delicate blooms. Impressed yet? Here's more: if you have no heads or tail about the kind of car suitable for your big day, the people at WeddingCars when is prom usually.Sg are more than happy to recommend some options to you. This season sees the Minis and Beetles ?C perfect for a fun- loving, quirky themed wedding, Rolls Royce and The Chrysler Stretch ?C this is the 'it' car if you're going for 'rich and classy', and the all time favourite Mitsuoka Galue as some of the popular cars.

The tulle revival is going so strong that popular designer Hayley Paige created a collection-within-her-collection of dresses, deemed "Love Poets Society," which spotlight removable tulle over-skirts. On the other hand, bridal favorite Monique Lhuillier showed a range almost entirely made up of tulle creations'both featuring removable over-skirts and light-as-air A-line tulle gowns. Carolina Herrera, Marchesa, Amsale, and Christos are just a few other fashion houses to recently craft voluminous tulle skirts that provide drama without the extra weight lala dresses online. It feels great to score a bargain, doesn't it? That's one of the reason that we love to shop for vintage and thrifted items! It is so satisfying to get a gorgeous, cashmere cropped sweater for just two bucks, or a pair of vintage boots for five. Instead of just getting those deals once in a while, learn the hacks that will help you get those bargains consistently. But the truth is that while I want everything, I can't have everything. There are decisions to be made and there is money needed to pay for the extravagance and the aesthetics. not only influence the history of American fashion !#~@~baby girl dresses for christmas
Alex: We knew we wanted a simple wedding with just close friends and family in Singapore. We were already going for a traditional hotel wedding in Hong Kong so we had the luxury to really do what we wanted for the Singapore wedding. We wanted something with an outdoor element and when Chloe's older sister recommended Open Farm Community which had just opened up then wedding venues, we thought it was the perfect option. The colour theme we had was blush and peach, although the natural greenery at the location contributed a lot to the look too. Each vendor in a co-op pays a fee for his space to the co-op landlord. The vendors also charge sales tax on their goods and pay using their own tax ID number and not that of the co-op space itself. Many co-ops have one cash register and the sellers need not be at their booths ' everything just must be priced so that the sales associate manning the co-op for the day can ring the appropriate amount and keep proper records for jsweddenladress20107 who receives that sale.

We had to decide if we should make a two and a half hour's drive to Asahikawa where the airport is open and to take a next flight out. But we did not have enough fuel to take us there and some roads were closed lala dresses online. Fuel were already being rationed then. We eventually decided to head back to Sapporo which is about forty minutes away by car as Sheila and I already had four nights of hotel stay booked. THE SMART SAVING TIP: It's time to act your age! If you are a student or a senior citizen, your local thrift store might offer special discount days just for you. Always call in advance to inquire, or check your store's web site for a calendar or listing of sale days. Thrift stores can be a lot like movie matinees: if you just visit at the right time, you're automatically going to save money. What sets this location apart is its beautiful ivy-covered terraces and its raw appeal. This place also has a clear European influence and offers great views of industrial New York. The location is on the smaller side too, so it can be a great location for an intimate dinner and ceremony. The venue can accommodate up to 200 standing guests and can seat 165. HOW TO WEAR: Rag & Bone boys rock derby hats on the runway in vibrant solid colors like red and white nordstrom homecoming dresses. The hats are meant to operate as a 'style connector' between other elements of the look, for example, the red bowler hat model has red plaid pants dress sash, and the white bowler hat model is wearing a muted white look.

I made a bet on who would cry first during the wedding jcpenny @!~……*prom dresses
We will be holding the ceremony at Tamarind Hill. It will be a very intimate soiree for our nearest and dearest! It will be a night for all of us to celebrate our union. We don't want anything too formal. We want it to be fun, lighthearted, and a night that we will remember forever. There'll be Thai food, music, and drinks, and we look forward to the speeches! That will be fun and funny, because what are the odds of two people meeting on a reality TV singing competition eventually getting married!? This fresh and modern take on a wedding cheongsam features an intricately embroidered illusion lace bodice with an oriental collar and a sleek mermaid skirt, paired with a detachable peplum train that bucks the traditional sheath silhouette. It's designed by Amanda Lee Weddings, a designer bridal boutique known for their delicate and graceful aesthetic, and love of colour. If you're looking for a fresh and feminine qipao that's contemporary in style, try their beautiful off-the-rack selection, or have a custom-made one designed just for you. Now that you have a wedding date, it's time to apply for the notice of marriage at the Registry of Marriages or online at their website. Do take note that you can only apply for the notice of marriage up to three months in advance or at least 21 days before your chosen date of solemnisation, so don't get too excited and try to file a notice for a wedding that is more than three months down the road.

The wedding plan was a simple jsweddenladress20107 English rhyme: 'Something old, something new, Something borrowed, something blue, And a silver sixpence in her shoe.' What’s Helping Me Right Now
Tumblr media
READING
Godshot by Chelsea Bieker - The best distraction is gripping, fictional misery! This coming-of-age novel is set in Peaches, California, a drought-stricken rural town with two major rulers: the raisin industry and a religious cult. I’m only halfway through, but I'm pretty sure our teen protagonist is somehow going to use romance books to save herself. Bonus recommendation: order a (glittery! gold!) hardcover copy from your favorite indie bookstore.
So We Can Glow by Leesa Cross-Smith - I bought this story collection literally moments before Community Bookstore closed to the public, and every day I thank my past self for being so smart. Did Leesa have a vision that the world would desperately need stories like hers? Bite-size, lyrical, delicious, with titles like “Tim Riggins Would’ve Smoked” and “Girlheart Cake with Glitter Frosting.” I read at least one story whenever I watch too much news.
Writers & Lovers by Lily King - I am recommending this perfect book to everyone. It’s hopeful, it’s funny, it’s romantic, it’s sad, and it’s set in the 1990s so it is blessedly free of the internet!
LISTENING
WQXR.org - God bless New York’s classical music radio station. Midday Mozart, Score at Four, I love it all.
Who? Weekly by Bobby Finger & Lindsey Weber - An absolutely hilarious podcast about the Whos and Thems of pop culture. I don’t know who they’re talking about at least 30% of the time, but that’s sort of the point. It’s the kind of podcast that makes you feel like you’re out to dinner with your funniest friends.
A Beautiful Mess by Elsie Larson & Emma Chapman - They’re sisters, they’re business partners, they’re influencers, they’re nerds. This podcast is fairly new but it’s already covered a range of topics: working with family, childhood magic, home renovation, wedding traditions. I find their sister banter very soothing and they always give solid advice.
Fake Doctors, Real Friends by Zach Braff & Donald Faison - It’s the TV show rewatch podcast of my dreams! The real-life JD and Turk are chatting about every episode of one of my most beloved shows, Scrubs.
This Creative Life by Sara Zarr - I’m a huge fan of Sara’s YA books, and she recently resurrected her podcast to chat with fellow creatives about how they work. It truly fulfills my Author Stalker needs.
WATCHING
Virtual Author Events - Books are still being published, and while I’m sad that authors (especially debut authors) won’t get to celebrate their work at in-person readings, indie bookstores saved the day per usual and are hosting virtual readings and Q&As. Thanks to Politics & Prose, I got to hear Lily King talk about Writers & Lovers, and I’m looking forward to upcoming virtual events hosted by Greenlight Bookstore and Books Are Magic. Yay bookstores!
Stumptown - A sexy, boozy, heartwarming detective show starring Cobie Smulders and Jake Johnson. It’s so good! Like Veronica Mars but honestly kind of better, shhh. This one’s on Hulu.
Uncorked - I love wholesome, coming-of-age movies about good people getting on track and figuring out their lives. It gives me hope, ya know? (I like to think I’m good and will someday get on track myself. Tick tock!) Should this handsome young man take over his father’s barbecue business OR should he follow his dreams of becoming a sommelier? A visually stunning movie, especially if you’re into food and wine. The best parts are the family scenes; Niecy Nash is queen of breaking hearts. This one’s on Netflix.
Unorthodox - Based on Deborah Feldman’s memoir about escaping her Hasidic community, this miniseries is GORGEOUS and thrilling. The actors are incredible. I watched this with some friends on Netflix Party and we all cried at the ending.
SUBSCRIBING
Drawing Links by Edith Zimmerman - A newsletter containing nonfiction (mostly memoir-ish) comics, plus a handful of interesting links. Whimsical and wise! I’m always ecstatic when I see a new Drawing Links has arrived.
Everything Happened by Evelyn Ebert - Another newsletter, this one a series of extremely moving, funny personal essays. I could read this woman’s writing forever and I hope she publishes a book someday.
NYT Cooking - Ugh, I went quarantine crazy and bought a subscription to this cooking app. I regret to inform you that it’s more than worth the cost. I love their recipe collections and how you can search by ingredient and save whatever to a digital recipe box. Plus now I get Sam Sifton’s newsletter and his food writing is so dreamy, oo lala. (If you can’t spend the money right now, I believe they’ve made a lot of recipes available for free thanks to the ongoing global nightmare.)

Marrying a Nigerian Bride as a Transactional Affair, and a Society That Prioritise Money Over Morals and Values
Tumblr media
If money is the least of your problems, you have a 100 percent chance of living the best life in a money conscious society like Nigeria. Like every other thing you can use money to acquire, marrying a Nigerian bride, also taking into consideration all the customs and tradition you have to observe, having the right amount of money is the major determinant in wether the wedding will hold or not. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || ).push({}); You can singlehandedly determine the time and duration and manner in which you want the wedding ceremony to run because you can lift the financial weight of marrying your Nigerian bride. There are other stakeholders who should normally have their say concerning the whole event, but everybody looks around only for the money bag and they act accordingly. This frequently thrown-around statement best describes this scenario: “money stops nonsense.” Love don't cost a thing? Who ever said ‘love don’t cost a thing’ had better wake up from their ‘Lala land’ they are snoring away to. Nigeria is one “world” I know money turns around in its own axis, because you can get virtually everything done with money here. There are other challenges that money cannot solve though. But having liquid cash can make them seem nonexistent as people only value you by how much money you can doll out, not so much as other qualities or values you might possess. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || ).push({}); The moral decadence Who would want to develop good virtues and values when, while growing up, it seems only the people who possess certain amount of money and wealth the Nigerian system work for. Because you know it is survival of the fittest, a jungle, you had better from your tender age, start looking for all available avenues to make this money — no one cares in the society how you made it — they are just waiting to praise God for how he has blessed you and, also having faith your kind financial breakthrough will happen to them, too. Rich vs not so rich
Tumblr media
What do you think will be the outcome when you have a civil case with a much richer opponent and the police had to be involved. Like an auction goes to the the highest bidder, you might as well look for a relative who is more richer than your opponent to come to your aid if you don’t want to lose out before it even gets to the court. You know auctioneers would naturally favour the highest bidder. That is why you’ll see someone who is richer than you tell you they will deal with even when they are the one at fault. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || ).push({}); Even on the street Do you just wake up in the morning feeling like you owe everybody in Nigeria some money. From the courtesy visit from the beggar who waits on hand for you to collect your change from the commercial bike man, so that you can put it into good use by handing it directly to him. To the street boys that stay on you like guided missile until you come up with some kind of magic that draws some naira currency from you. To the bus conductor who holds on to your change long enough, even after entreaties from you for your change, so that you forget and he can ride home with someone’s money he stole without using a gun. Buy your way to good grade You are about to finish school and you realise you have ‘worked really hard’ maintaining a low cgpa from you 100 level to 300 level. To get yourself a higher cgpa is just a matter of applying your money in the right places, and all you have to do is just feel accomplished. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || ).push({}); That job can be yours. Where is the money? Looking for your dream job? Hey, save enough money, we have a market out there where the juicy jobs are sold to the highest bidder. What is the whole essence of getting trained in the university in the first place anyway. You can buy voters too You are a politician. You can ditch your manifesto. We don’t have that much education to care about what’s in it for us in the next four years. Who cares about them anyway. You know how well you and your colleagues in your political class have mismanaged the economy to a halt, hence earning us the ‘prestigious’ title of ‘poverty capital of the world.’ Therefore, the only way you see yourself winning an election is sharing money to the electorate who have been disenfranchised for so long and just want to satisfy their immediately want. They are usually the people who have suffered under repressive economic policies, looting and mismanagement by their leaders. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || ).push({}); Skull miners on the prowl And there are those who withdraw their own money from the dark spiritual realm. A place where the unfortunate is sent to by way of killing them and severing their body parts and using it for money rituals. You see and hear cases of missing persons, and when they are found, they are usually dead, hands, eyes, private parts, heads missing. You wonder what ferocious beast is lurking around doing this — people like you with pretty and handsome faces everywhere — they are looking for money. Relationship between the transactional side of marrying a Nigerian bride and a society that prioritise money over morals and values The groom, the bride, and both their families are an integral part of a society that cares more about money than other things of value which a healthy society yearns for. So there is no gain saying when I conclude our culture and traditions as regards the wedding ceremony; only puts serious pressure mostly on the groom to make available money every step of the way in a typical Igbo or Yoruba wedding.
Tumblr media
As an outsider who is experiencing a Nigerian wedding for the first time, instead of observing and appreciating the rich culture and traditions that a typical Nigerian wedding has to showcase, all that can be beclouded by the intense and vigorous involvement of making one payment or another at every step of the way during the ceremony. This is direct reflection of what is generally obtainable in a society prioritise money over morals and values. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || ).push({}); The transactional aspect of marrying a Nigerian bride Nigeria as we know has three dominant tribes: Hausa/Fulani to the northern part. Igbo to the eastern part. And Yoruba to the south-western part of Nigeria. All the weddings ceremonies that hold from all other tribes, about 300 of them, in Nigeria are influenced in part or whole by these three major tribes. Therefore, I am only going to dwell these three starting from the Hausa-Fulani tribe.
Tumblr media
The Hausa-Fulani Sharo wedding festival What fascinates me about the sharo wedding practice, is the fact that you have to go through life threatening pains, in a flogging bout with your opponent, in order to prove yourself worthy of the bride. They say love is pain. This time around it is not emotional pain; this is you getting beat up with cain by the other suitor contesting for the bride against you. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || ).push({}); On one occasion a suitor lost his life on the account of subjecting himself to a flogging match with an opponent who, unintentionally target the back of his neck and it was light out. On getting to the hospital, before they could attend to him, he was already dead. He paid the ultimate price for a transaction affair of marrying a Nigerian bride. The Yoruba igbeyawo
Tumblr media
It is a tradition in the Yoruba wedding (igbeyawo) that the groom with your friends and family must meet their waiting in-laws at the venue of the ceremony. The time between getting to the venue of the “igbeyawo” and actually meeting the bride’s family, is riddled with hurdles of sundry payments which, many are times, bore out the groom and his family. It is payment galore within that period. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || ).push({}); And when the groom and his family eventually meet their in-laws to make official request for the hand of their daughter in marriage, they are subjected to various other payments that have no receipt. Marrying a Nigerian bride does not involve you having a receipt, sorry. At a point, the bride’s parent will return the bride price back to the couple emphatically stating that they are not selling their daughter into marriage and they wouldn’t want any harm to come to her. However, prior to the date of the “igbeyawo,” the groom must have spent a fortune checking every item on the list of things required of him by the bride’s family. One thing you cannot take away from the Yoruba in-laws is that they can be flexible and accommodating of the groom’s financial inadequacy. Don’t bank on that though. Be prepared. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || ).push({}); Marrying the bride from Imo state The Igbo people are some of the most business oriented people In the world. A typical Igbo man wakes up in the morning thinking of profit and loss, and his day-to-day activity has to be something that brings in money. If it will not result to some profit for him, forget it, he has no business dealing with you. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || ).push({}); The same goes for the Igbo father who is giving his daughter out to marriage. Such a man knows what have many daughters mean — payday upon payday. A suitor who is aware that his bride-to-be is from mbaise, Imo state in the east, “has to buckle his belt” properly so that his trouser don’t fall off. Because, the things he’ll be asked to buy (the list), the amount of money need for it is no child’s play. When it is not affordable
Tumblr media
In some instances, suitors have had to postpone the traditional marriage because they could not come up with the amount of money needed to take up all the requirements for the wedding.
Tumblr media
For those intending couples who see this as barrier because of the groom’s financial state, and they don’t want it to stop them from being a couple, they go ahead living together as man and wife. However, the husband is always reminded that if he doesn’t come to do the things required of him, the kids he has with their daughter are not his yet; they belong to the bride’s parents. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || ).push({}); Conclusion Nigeria is one society where amassing stupendous wealth puts you on a level where you feel you are invisible to life challenges of a regular citizen. You can get away with many and everything as along as you know the price to pay any opposing force or entity. The cultures and traditions we claim to uphold and cherish are nothing without money. Especially with the traditional weddings, when there’s no application of money, it may turn to an event with bad bloods and counter bad bloods. Read the full article
