Chapter one of this odd AU

Ishone did not agree with her lady’s methods but who was she to disagree with the Lady of the World Eaters. She seemed fairly close with the Crimson witch that had appeared before them, they spoke a strange tongue which she could not understand but it was very evident that her Lady was very distraught about the current situation. Gentle cooing noises could be heard from the small bundle in her lady's arms as she surrendered the bundle into the crimson witches arms. Tears flowed freely from her Lady’s face as she said her farewells to the tiny babe that hadn't a clue that this would most likely be the last time they would see each other, she hadn't even seen her father who had deemed it too painful to even look upon her. They could only hope that she’d have a better life in the care of this woman, but for now she’d remained hidden. Safe.

Tears flowed down Nyla’s face as she silently walked down the halls of the Conqueror with her child that was barely two months old, 2 months was the time she was allotted to spend with her child, The Emperor had ordered a meeting with Angron on Terra. It made Angron apprehensive, as if his ‘father’ suspected something. He ordered Nyla to get rid of the child, those words alone pained the both of them. She had only just named their child and yet here she was being forced to dispose of her, her pained cries echoed throughout the Conqueror. Yet her cries fell on deaf ears, as she paced around the child’s nursery, Thought after thought trying to figure out how to insure her daughter safety when a thought comes to mind, a very old memory resurfaces and she hastens to her chambers. As she arrives at her chambers, she clambered underneath her bed trying to reach a very old box that had been gifted to her in her teenage years. It was gifted to her by her grandmother who instructed her to only open it in the most dire of circumstances. She felt this was dire enough, and opened the dusty velvet box.

Inside contained only a peculiar piece of parchment with some words written in an Ancient Terran Language, “Pomôž mi” Nyla read aloud, she had no idea what it meant but her grandmother had taught it to her in the instance she’d need to use the box.

The crackle of shattering glass could be heard as a woman walked through a portal right inside her chambers aboard the Conqueror. Nyla stared in awe at the women in front of her. How had this woman done it? Nevermind how she had done it, how had she evaded detection both by her husband and his legion of soldiers? “You called?” the woman said softly with an accent that reminded her of Kharn.”y-yes please my daughter…” Nyla trailed off, was she really about to give her daughter to a woman who somehow appeared to her in the middle of the warp. Did she really have a choice? “I am a trusted friend of your family. You can tell me whatever you need.” The lady said gently consoling her.

Just as Nyla was going to plead to this woman for her to take her daughter to safety, Ishone, her handmaiden, walked through the door “ My Lady the Lord Primarch ordered me to check up on you…” she trailed off as she looked at this crimson witch that seemed to be from her outlook seducing her into giving away her child. Just as Ishone is about to run away to alert the Lord Primarch and the Astartes about what she witnessed, Nyla scrambles up from her knees and hurriedly pulls Ishone into the room. “Please I beg of you, Do not alert anyone. She can see Gwenni into a new life! A better one… with better parents..” Nyla sobbed and pleaded with Ishone. Nyla did not do this without a heavy heart but this felt like her only choice as she was not leaving her daughter on some random imperial planet and she definitely wasn't letting her so called “brothers” dispose of her. Ishone reluctantly stayed swayed by the desperation in Nyla’s voice. “What do you need of me, my lady?” Ishone said, resolving to stay by her lady’s side in her darkest hour. “Give me the courage to do what I must.” Nyla sniffled “Please bring Gwenni here Ishone.” Nyla ordered before turning back to the Crimson lady, “What is your name? What is your connection with my family?” She inquired, wondering about the history of the women in her family.

“My name is Wanda Maximoff,I met your grandmother as a 20 year old coming into her powers, it was an accident of course but nonetheless it took me a bit to figure out how to get back home again and in the meantime your grandmother gave me shelter in a strange universe i knew nothing about. She taught me the dangers of your universe, and I helped make your settlement a little safer. As soon as I was able to master my power that had gotten me to this universe and go back to my home universe I promised her if she ever needed any help just to call for me and I would return immediately.” Wanda explained, leaving out the detail of what her powers were as she knew the people of this universe distrusted chaos magic, With good reason to. “Your daughter Gwenni? May I perhaps ask why you need to hide her?” Wanda asked cautiously, being careful to not upset Nyla anymore than she already is.

Nyla nodded as she gathered her thoughts before speaking “My husband… he is a primarch, a sort of prince you could say to the emperor of mankind. Although he more so views his sons as tools rather than sons so anything that humanizes his sons too much is deemed a distraction, it was a miracle that our marriage was even allowed in the first place. We both knew though that a child would be seen as a distraction and maybe even an affront to him. My husband recently had gotten an order to return to Terra for a meeting and we both fear that he’ll find Gwenni and take her away or worse…” she trailed off. “Which is why my husband demanded I dispose of her but I couldn't just leave her on some Hive world so she could live a life of struggle and hardship, where she may not even make it to her first name day… so please I beg of you, take my daughter..”

Wanda nodded grimly, from her brief time here during her 20’s she could see that the imperium was no place to raise a child. “If that is what you need then I shall fulfill your request.” Just as they finish talking, Ishone comes back with Gwenni.” Here you go my lady.” She gently places a cooing Gwenni in her arms all wrapped up in a scrap of her father’s cloak. It was obvious Angron was acutely feeling the loss of his daughter as well. Despite not wanting to look upon her for fear of heartbreak, Heartbreak had found him nevertheless. The scrap of fabric had Nyla breaking into tears once more as she realized Angron had finally recognized Gwenni as his. She quickly ran over to her jewelry box and pulled out her only necklace and gave it to Wanda “ Please let her know we loved her very much and that as much i wanted us to be a family, it just simply wasn't meant to be” She kissed her baby’s soft forehead for the last time, tears spilling on Gwenni’s forehead and rolling down. “May we see each other in another life my little dragonfly…” Nyla reluctantly handed Gwenni to Wanda and watched as they both disappeared into a portal that vanished as soon as it came.

Tim Through the Years - Meet the Class

Series Masterlist

Summary: Tim meets your class of 25 five-year-olds. 1.2k+ words.

“Hey, can I run something by you?” you asked Tim while you were having lunch at his desk.

Tim looked up at you mid-bite of his shared sandwich. He chewed quickly and asked, “Of course, is everything okay?”

You softly bit your lip. “Yes. I know you aren’t a fan of community outreach, but will you come to my class and talk about safety and what to do in an emergency?”

Tim gave you his million-dollar smile “I’d be more than happy to come and talk to your class. I get to spend a whole morning with a beautiful lady.” He leans over and kisses you. “I also get the added bonus of being away from Lucy, too.”

You shoved him slightly. “I think you like the latter more.”

“Hey, that’s police brutality. I might have to handcuff you to this desk all day and then you’ll have to hang out with me.” Tim smiled as he spoke.

“Aw! You two are just so cute!” Lucy said when she walked up to the desk.

“Hi Lucy, how are you?” you turned and asked her.

“I’m doing well! Do you think we can have a girls night with me, you, Angela, Nyla and Bailey? We could go paint pottery or watch a movie or go laser tag or…." Before Lucy could finish, Tim sent her a glare.

“Can I help you with something, Officer Chen?” Tim growled out.

“Our suspect is ready to talk,” Chen said to Tim.

“I’ll see you later,” Tim told you as he kissed the top of your head.

“Bye Tim! Bye Lucy! We definitely have to get together soon!”

You wave them off as you pack up and leave. 

You paced back and forth before school started, waiting on Tim to arrive. You were extremely nervous because your students, while awesome, were very protective of you. They’ve stopped a presentation before because the man who was talking about his job told the class that they could do better than being a teacher. The poor guy got booed and slightly bullied by the group of 5-year-olds, so you just hope that today goes over well. Tim texted you to let you know that he would be a little late due to the fact he saw a crime being committed right in front of him.

When the bell finally rang, your group of students walked into the classroom all chatting away with each other. They put their bags up and sat down in the respective seats (it took a while for them to get down). 

“Good morning everyone!” you tell the class when the second bell rang.

“Good Morning Miss. Winchester!” they responded. 

You started the morning off with doing some freeze dance to get the kids ready to start the day. When that was done, you picked up right where you left off from yesterday. Some students still shouted out answers, but others would remember and raised their hands. You found it adorable how much they enjoy getting to learn. Soon, there was a knock at the door. 

“Class, we have a very special guest today who is going to talk to us about safety.” You walked up to the door, you let Tim and, to your surprise, two more officers in.

“IS THAT A DOG?!?!?!” a student named Ashley shouted.

All the students erupted in excitement, and you had to use your quiet hand gesture to try and settle the class as Tim, a K9 officer, and a small dog walked up to the front of the class. 

“Class, Meet Sergeant Bradford from the LAPD,” you announced to the students.

“Good morning, students, as you heard, I’m Sergeant Bradford, and today I’m talking about safety. Firstly, I brought two special guests with me, Officer Stan with his K-9 Officer Fuzz.”

Officer Stan smiled and greeted the students as Officer Fuzz, a small dachshund, barked excitedly as a greeting.

“I brought Officer Fuzz in today so you can understand what a K-9 is used for and when to approach one,” Tim explained.

“Officer Fuzz is used like any other police officer; he helps us find bad guys and can catch bad guys faster than we can. Officer Fuzz can run up to 20 miles per hour, so we typically send him in to run after someone. Officer Fuzz also helps smell out bad stuff for us to take away. You can approach a police dog at any time with permission from the Officer. If you do see a police dog chasing after someone or he looks angry, do not approach. He could accidentally hurt you because he’s trying to protect his fellow officers or trying to stop someone,” Officer Stan explained. “Any questions?”

Lots of hands flew into the air, so you called on a girl named Hanna to ask the first question. “Does Officer Fuzz stay at the station all the time?”

“That’s a great question! No, Officer Fuzz is technically my dog. So, when I get off work, he gets to go home and be with me. He also goes in when I do, so just like me, Officer Fuzz gets to be a normal dog when he’s not working,” Stan said.

The students continued their questions about Officer Fuzz and his handler. Before Officer Stan had to leave to go back to work, he released Officer Fuzz so he could run around and receive pets from everyone. Officer Fuzz ran up to you last and laid on his back for belly rubs.

“Aren’t you the cutest?” You bent down and gave the tail-wagging dog belly rubs.

“You might have some competition, Bradford,” Stan said with a smile and slightly nudged Tim. Stan called back Officer Fuzz and they both left with waves of goodbyes and a huge “Thank you!” from your students.

“Hello again! I want to tell everyone what to do if they feel unsafe or lost. If you get away from your mommy or your daddy, find a store worker or an officer to help you find your mom or dad. If you are in danger or hurt, call 911 and we will do everything we can to help you. Do we have any questions?”

“What do you do as a Sergeant?” Logan, a young student, asked.

“I am everyone’s boss; I tell them what to do and make sure their job is getting done. I am currently training someone to become a police officer, they are called a Rookie,” Tim explained.

Your students asked as many questions as they could until the lunch bell rang, and the class let out a collective grown in disappointment. 

“Can we have lunch with Sergeant Bradford?” Wade asked, and the other students jumped in to agree.

“I don’t think Sergeant Bradford can stay any longer, he does have to leave at some point,” you said softly.

“I can stay for lunch,” Tim said with a smile. The class cheered and you sent them to get their lunches and to have a private moment with Tim.

“You didn’t have to stay,” you said to Tim as you looked up at him.

“I’m more than happy to. Your students are wonderful,” Tim said with a smile, and kissed the top of your head.

“Did Miss Winchester fix your heart?” Johnny asked Tim, startling both of you. 

Tim smiled and looked at you. “Yeah, she did,” he answered, which caused you to blush.

Johnny’s eyes got all big and he quickly ran out to the other students.

“Guys!!!! Sergeant Bradford is Miss. Winchester’s husband!!”

You then hear a loud scream of joy and all the students running in to ask the both of you a million questions about this new revelation. It was going to be a very long afternoon.

Everyone asks about what we want to see in S6, but I'm curious, what are your wants in general for S6 or beyond? Any particular storylines you'd like to see?

Honestly I'm just beyond grateful that we're getting a season 6! (In terms of renewal, and of course the strikes.)

What I want (also includes things I don't want) under the cut!

Tim and Lucy dance at the wedding!!! (it's a need)

The little things: holding hands, a kiss on the cheek, one coming up and wrapping their arms around the other from behind. Just those soft things that are so easily overlooked, but frankly these little moments often have the biggest impact.

CHENFORD I LOVE YOU! That's the only "big" development I need for them in season 6, mostly because I think it should have happened in season 5.

Oh I lied, other big thing I'd really like to see - Chenford living together. Because let's face it, they already do, so might as well make it official already! (Especially if there's a time jump of any kind. Grown ass adults move faster in relationships than 20-year-olds.)

Aaron lives! (I almost didn't bother including this one since he obviously does, but still)

Development to (if not resolution of) everything that's been brewing regarding Lucy's undercover career. I know everyone has their own (strong) opinions on what they want to happen/where they want this to land, but I just want Lucy to have the career she deserves AND the life that she wants (and I personally don't think she can have both with the current state of things) AND for her and Tim to be in a good place. So ultimately I hope she realizes that UC is not for her - BUT NOT JUST BECAUSE OF TIM, because it goes against her character, because she doesn't want to leave herself, her friends, her life behind... (I could write an essay on this, and... oops apparently I have!)

Related the above, but Lucy to advance in her career. Be that as a detective or some other type of promotion or advancement. Girl has been killing it, she deserves it! (As much as I think having Angela and Nyla AND Lucy as detectives is too many detectives, I would loooove to see that trio kicking ass together!)

More Tim and Angela moments. Aside from Chenford, this is my absolute favourite relationship on the show, I adore their friendship and I'd love to see more of it!

Aaron and Celina to be just friends. Petition for more platonic male-female friendships on TV!! And they just give off BFF energy to me

Genny! Moments with Tim, moments with Lucy, maybe tell us her other kid's name... they made a point of moving her character to Los Angeles, I hope they use her!

No pregnancy for Bailey/Nolan. Congrats to Jenna, but we've had pregnancies every season since season 3 and it's a lot. Plus Nolan wasn't keen a few seasons ago, and he's even older now, and giving the lead character a newborn at home would really fuck with the dynamics. Also petition for more female characters choosing not to have kids, representation matters! (Oops another essay...)

Better integration of the various characters. Lots of people dislike Bailey (I am not one of them), but I personally think the biggest hiccup with her character is that she almost exclusively interacts with Nolan. This cast has incredible chemistry, so I would really like to see them play with that more! What I would give for a ladies night with all these badass women (you know they'll stumble across a crime or something...)

I'm sure there's more, but I've yammered on enough. Aside from these things, I'm just REALLY looking forward to my beloved show coming back. This cast is magical, I love how they manage to keep it light, and I'm excited to see what they have planned for us.

Happy Monday all :) Some UC Lucy and overly protective Tim. Always a fun combo to watch. Also Aaron telling like it is and getting a puppy. This is a good one before our epic next ep. Let’s get started.

5x07 Crossfire

We start off with Lucy getting recruited for a UC Op. She is official now post school. It’s for an all girl gang. They’ve been extorting shop owners on their turf. One stood up and he paid the price for it. What they need Lucy to do is infiltrate them. Get in close and see if they can’t get confession or murder weapon.

Lucy looks a little intimidated by the task. Harper doesn’t let that doubt linger for long. Builds her up saying she’s a UC now. This is what they do. Come in where they’re not wanted to build rapport and trust. Lucy puts her feelings of doubt in check and says she will figure it out.

Tim and Aaron show up for a noise complaint. The lady tells them she was just arguing with her son. Aaron asks what the problem is? She says he’s not listening, mouthy and cutting school. That she’s worried he’s going to end up like his sister. That'll she lose him to a gang. He’s only 15 years old. Tim tells her they can’t arrest or do anything unless he’s committed a crime.

She said she doesn’t want that. Just wants them to put the fear of God into him. See if it’ll keep him out of trouble. Aaron volunteers to talk to the kid. He does such good job with him. I love watching Tim watch him do that. You can see he’s impressed with the cop Aaron is becoming. He’s got a Lucy level skill of connecting with people and being genuinely empathetic. Aaron ends up giving Tabin his card for whenever he needs it to vent.

It doesn't take long before he is blowing up Aaron's phone complaining about his mom. It's actually pretty cute watching Aaron reply to him. He is enjoying helping this kid out and you can tell. Tim makes a joke about how he has a puppy now. The same kind of speech he gave Lucy back when she met Tamara in 3x02. Aaron is having the same resolve Lucy did back then. I mean yes her puppy lives with her now but we all love that haha He is cool as a cucumber saying as long as his mom is a good cook. LOL Tim just shakes his head.

We get some more Harper/Lucy goodness. Nyla is bringing over all the intel on the Razors. The folder is embarrassingly light. Lucy is confused because all these women have heavy records. Tons of drug arrests including meth. Harper tells her no one takes girl gangs seriously. It shows in the amount of intel they have on these women.

Lucy once again expresses her worry about making her way in. Harper knows she can do this. Wouldn’t have tapped her for this if she didn’t. I love their cute bonding moment about Lucy being a threat herself. Hehe That is true. Our girl is a powerhouse to be feared really. Especially with UC. Learned from the best in the business. Really loved this moment with them. Looking forward to more in S6.

Lucy is looking for any kind of in and finds out about Tim's call this morning. The sister of Tabin (Aaron’s puppy.) is in the gang. Lucy and Harper approach them about the call. Tim is cute af saying the call was cute. That all puppies are cute LOL Lucy’s comment is adorable about Tamara. Stealing earrings and losing them. It's classic and you know she wouldn't have it any other way. Tamara stopped being a puppy and became their pseudo daughter long ago though. This is an adorable moment nonetheless.

They’re telling Aaron this kid could be Lucy’s way in. One she desperately needs to establish instant rapport with them. You can see Aaron’s hesitancy on the whole matter. Knowing the mom’s feelings on opening that door for her son. Everyone seems on board for this plan except Aaron.

Which sucks cause he’s the rookie out of all of them. So his opinion while respected doesn’t carry the weight he wants it to. Tim says they can stakeout the meet together. Watch over Tabin so nothing happens to him. It's the only thing calming Aaron in this moment. So he agrees to reach out. They need the mother consent first before anything else.

Aaron is able to get Tabin's mom to consent. Telling her it'll be safe for him to do this. We find them next getting ready to send Lucy in. They’re posted outside a block party the gang is having. They spot Vina and signal Lucy to head in. She does so like a bat out of hell. Love her entrance and confidence she holds. Just handles that car like a damn champ as she drifts into the party literally. The concern on Tim's face from the moment she enters the scene is evident.

Tim looks anxious af the minute that gun is pulled on Lucy. He knows she can handle herself. Logically he knows that. It’s the emotional part that is flipping out right now. Even knowing she can handle herself doesn’t stop him from worrying like crazy. Doesn't ease the panic rising in his throat at the sight of her with a gun in her face. You can tell he is sick to his stomach watching this. Also look at Aaron he’s worried for Tim worrying. He can sense the tension coming off that man in waves.

Don’t tell me that man doesn’t know Tim Is gone for her. Aaron knows what's up. He has always sensed something more between them. Nothing he could put words to but he knows. Just like Grey, Angela and Harper know. Hence the look he’s doing right now for Tim. Worried Tim is a favorite of mine. We’re getting that right off the bat in this op.

Man is so in love and showing all his cards to Aaron. Doesn’t mean to be but he sure is. His whole body tenses up the minute that gun comes out. Legit panic all over his beautiful features. Lastly Lucy looks amazing btw. Like completely in BAMF mode. I’m as straight as an arrow. I’m sure you all can tell by way I drool over Eric. But damn if I don’t have a little girl crush on Lucy Chen haha

Lucy is smooth af in her verbiage. I love Angela and Harper smiling at her ‘Genes’ comment. They’re so proud of their girl. Makes me so very happy. Being the bad ass they knew she would be on this OP. Lucy holds her own the entire time. Doesn’t flinch once with that gun in her face. Shana comes up and has Vina stand down. Lucy says she’s gonna roll then. Acting like she doesn't need to be at this party. But she gets invited to stay for a drink or two. Mission accomplished. She’s in.

We watch Lucy lay down her backstory like a friggin champ. Saying she did a stretch at the same prison Shana did. Pulling out a name that will solidify her status for that. We watch Tim relax a little when she buys her story. Tells Aaron that Shawty is on the DOJ’s payroll and will back Lucy’s cover. Everything is falling into place like it's supposed to. Aaron says it time to pull Tabin then. He did what he was supposed to do. There is no need for him to stay at this party any longer than he has.

Tim tells him no. He’s fine where he is. Aaron presses it some more and says No sir he’s not. I said last episode Aaron had some serious balls with Tim. He for sure does in this moment holy hell. I remember gasping that he said that to Tim. I also said 'Excuse me.' with Tim when it happened LOL I was shocked Aaron would call him out like that. Tapping into Lucy from 1x03. Telling him like it is.

Tim is shocked too hence his reaction. He’s also mad that Aaron could not only see that but call him out on it. As we all know unless it’s Lucy and even then Tim doesn’t like to be called out. If looks could kill our lovely Aaron would be dead LOL Is Aaron right? Yes of course he is. Tim Is putting Lucy above this kid. That’s his first instinct is to protect her career and advance it. I love him for it truly I do. Doesn't mean Aaron is off base in what he is saying either.

Now even though I agree there is a time and place Aaron. Maybe don't call out your superior officer on an op like that lol But he’s definitely not wrong in this thought process. This is the thing Tim was scared of happening. Losing his objectivity based on Lucy alone. Now that’s been happening for years let's be honest. heh

Lucy Chen has been his blind spot for a long time. It’s just more prominent in this season. But Tim has always been putting her first since her early days. Now it usually has positive results. Unfortunately we see it has negative consequences this time around. Like what happens to this kid as we will see soon enough. Aaron’s fear of Tim wins out before the scene is up though. He says he shouldn't have said anything….Look at Aaron's eyes he is straight scared he just angered the beast ha

Sadly it turns out as badly as Aaron predicted it would. Tabin gets into with someone at the party and gets his ass beat. They break it up but not before he takes some serious damage. Lucy asks him if he’s ok Tabin says yes. Vina tries to get him to take the gun and he refuses. She makes fun of him and they take off. We can see how upset Lucy is he was hurt like that.

Unfortunately she has to compartmentalize and rejoin them. Harper says she’s in and they can leave now. Tim copies and they go to find Tabin. It’s super sad when they grab him up. Aaron looks so upset he got hurt. When the mom finds out she tears into them both. Can't say I blame her tbh. Aaron does jump in front of Tim (verbally speaking) during the whole thing. Doesn't do any good but I do love that.

Lucy gets brought along on a money run. I mean if nothing else Tabin's intro go her in real fast. Which is exactly what Lucy needed. It was the purpose of him being there. It’s so fun to watch her hold her own in these op's gotta say. Vina is a loose cannon and it shows. Lucy has to rein her in once again with being violent. It’s where we find out it was Vina who killed the owner not Shana. Harper’s original assumption was her not the sister. Which really sucks for Tabin and his mom. They had him be a CI to take her out not his sister…

Lucy meets up with Tim and Aaron outside Tabin's house. Vina is visiting her brother. Getting rid of the gun like Shana wanted her to by giving it to Tabin. Lucy lets them know it was Vina who killed store owner not the leader. Aaron looks so devastated. Lucy tells him how sorry she is but it’s true. That she probably has the gun on her right now. Tells them she doesn’t want to blow her cover so she’s gonna hang back. Tim understands and they roll up to arrest Vina.

She surrenders quickly but she already gave her brother the gun. Aaron see’s this and calls it out. We then watch Lucy all but bolt to Tim’s side. Cover blown because she thought he was in danger. Rolls up to back them in this arrest. I love that she had her cover protected then saw Tim was in potential danger. Said screw my cover my man is in trouble. Then launched to go protect him. Fantastic. Aaron gets him to drop the gun and hand it off. Tabin then says Aaron used him. It’s pretty sad tbh. They originally did this to bring her home not get her arrested because of their involvement. Sadly not how it worked out at all.

It’s confirmed the gun Vina had was the one that killed the owner. Aaron looks so sad about the whole ordeal. Lucy asks if his puppy has answered? He says no…Lucy reminds him they got a killer off the street. He replies sadly 'But it was his sister…' Her comforting skills kicking in telling him he’ll get it someday. As Tim and Aaron leave for night Tim and Lucy lock eyes.

Real subtle guys. The mini longing going on in this brief moment is primo though. Tim checking in on her but also sending heart eyes her way. Lucy doing the same thing in this gaze of theirs. The pining is real and evident in every episode. I adore that. Even one where they don’t have a ton of content. Testament to the amazing chemistry that Eric and Melissa have. Can take the smallest moments and make them explosive.

Also lord I love it when we get Tim Bradford in a Henley. Mmmm man makes something so simple so very sexy. Aaron apologizes to Tim for saying what he said. That he was out of line. Tim telling him yeah he was. Not in a place with Aaron yet to admit his faults. But it was good he saw how out of line he was in saying it then and there.

Tim does compliment him and say he had his back with the mom earlier. Aaron stepping right into that compliment saying yeah she was gonna lay him out LOL Oh how far our Tim has come for him to have a convo like that with Aaron and have it end with a smile. So proud of him it’s insane. That’s all she wrote for this one. Not a ton but enough that we got some goodies.

So I had to take the day to get my thoughts in order and to make sure I was remembering certain things correctly. ( I wasn't. Thank you @theflyindutchwoman @cfr749 and @intelligentfan for helping this poor old brain remember.) Also, I wanted to get another re-watch (or two) in before I put my thoughts into words. So here's my two cents....

I've seen some people compare Lucy's journey to Nyla and Angela's. Let's put it out there: Angela almost completely ruined her chances of ever becoming a detective. She had to work her butt off to redeem herself. Otherwise, she would have spent the rest of her career as a TO. As for Nyla, yes she got a golden ticket, but she didn't use that to advance her career. She was already a detective. She used the golden ticket to basically take a step down to be a TO. This was so she could have the time to re-build her relationship with her daughter. She kept the detective title, but she went back on patrol. She could have done anything, but she put family first. So we can't really say that either lady had an easier career path than Lucy. That said, I'd like to talk about what I would like to see happen with Lucy and what I don't want to see.

First thing I'd like to see is Lucy being lifted up by Angela. Yes, Nyla is her mentor, but Angela's struggle was closer to Lucy's. And selfishly I'd love to see more interaction between those two. Don't get me wrong, I want to see Nyla outraged over Lucy's treatment by Primm, but I want to see Angela share with Lucy her own feelings of failure that she had to get through.

Secondly, I would love to see Pine throw her two cents in. She is a powerful woman who has risen to a high ranking position. She could give Lucy a serious confidence boost by letting her know she is on her side.

As for the things I don't want to see, I absolutely do not want her to get a golden ticket. I want her to get this promotion on her merits. I want Primm to have to eat crow and admit she is an amazing officer. In reality something like a golden ticket is pretty rare. It would be a little much to have three officers in the same division with golden tickets.

The other thing I don't want to happen is Tim stepping in and saying something to Primm. I've had jobs where I've been the only female with serious alpha males. Something like that would have made my life miserable. Lucy needs to be the one to put Primm in his place.

So that 's my thoughts on Lucy's future. Lucy deserves this promotion. She has worked hard and has become an outstanding officer. I hope the remainder of this season is going to be about her redemption.

the midwilshire family group chat headcanons

ok so the canon confirmation in 5.13 that the core group have a group chat with each other is probably one of THE best things to come from last night’s episode, and one thing abt me is that I LOVE found family shenanigans so you know I had to make this. so here’s what I think their group chat looks like:

nolan always goes to bailey whenever a phrase, abbreviation, or emoji is sent over text that he doesn’t understand

originally he went to henry but because of the time zone difference henry would be like “dad fuck off it’s 3am here I can’t explain to you what bffr means” so then bailey comes to the rescue

the whole group actually GASLIGHTS tim. like they will send the most unfunny 2012 facebook memes and tell him that it is the kind of stuff kids find funny these days, acting like he’s crazy for not laughing, and he gets so annoyed because he knows they’re fucking with him and he’s insulted they think he’s that lame but also they NEVER break. they commit to the bit 100% and keep at it

lucy sends obscure uquizzes like “find out what famous true crime documentary you are by choosing bts lyrics” or “what kind of wings would you have if humans had wings” or something like that

unless directly mentioned or asked a question (or unless she herself needs something) nyla will not text in the chat. the only exception is when she has an occasional girls’ night to get a break from leah, and then she (and angela) will get super drunk and start sending drunken voice memos and texting the group chat saying really affectionate stuff like how much she loves all of them, and she misspells every word

angela sends one picture of jack. ONE. and lucy responds with 80 different texts fawning over how cute he is, sending little 🥰 emojis and rambling about how nyla and angela have the cutest kids ever. the guys only send like one text each. but it gets to the point where angela only ever sends pictures of jack when she’s had a bad day and needs a serotonin boost or wants to feel like the best mom ever (which is true) because she knows lucy always goes insane and it makes angela feel good about herself

tim will ABSOLUTELY send all-caps messages late at night giving extremely heated commentary on whatever sports game is on and everyone will either play along with it (“nooo, not the lineguard!! (I have no idea what’s going on)” comes from wesley) OR it’ll be too late at night so they will all text him in unison going “SHUT UP ABOUT THE GAME”

there are also several group chats— like one with aaron and celina, one without them, one with all the spouses and SOs (bailey, james, wesley) and one without, one even with grey, one with just the ladies, etc.— and in the ones aaron is in, tim will send recent paparazzi pictures of aaron that he finds online just to fuck with him

celina also sends daily horoscopes to the ladies group chat

lucy and tim also always send out invites to tyler’s little league games because tim is convinced that a bigger audience showing support for the kids will help them succeed (and the litany of post-game snack ideas that they all suggest)

everyone also tries to pump free construction and repair advice from nolan and he’s a sucker for it every time

Pub drama-Soap Mactavish

{Warnings: mentions of violence, alcohol, language}

~Soap accompanies you to a pub, where you're celebrating your friends birthday.

A/N: a friend req this so here we are. ( I feel like all I've done is Angsty fics, where the MC always gets in trouble. but that will change soon)

we gathered at a local pub for my friends birthday, we sit at a booth, eagerly awaiting the arrival of everyone. i stare at Soap, his fashionable ensemble – black jeans and a grey t-shirt. On the other hand, I have chosen to adorn a dainty black silk spaghetti strap dress with a subtle slit running up the side till reaching just beyond my hip. my wavy black hair tied into a messy bun atop my head. “hm, if i didn't know any better lass, i’d say you’re trying to seduce me” Soap says, barely loud enough to hear over the thundering music. 

i laugh, shaking my head. “You say that daily. i could be wearing the ugliest Christmas sweater and you would still ask that question". He chuckles, leaning back into the booth, never averting his eyes from my form. The dancing lights in the background illuminating his gaze and providing me with a captivating visage.

My heart is filled with joy as I look at the man I adore. "I love you, you goofball," I say with a grin, watching as he sends me a wink in response. I'm about to tease him some more when I notice my girls walking towards us. Quickly, I stand up and embrace the birthday girl, a huge smile on my face. “Happy birthday vinnie!” i all but shout in her ear. which is probably another reason me and Soap get along so well- we’re both loud. she giggles in response, hugging me.

she pulls away and almost instantly drags us to the bar, the other girls following close behind. “shots! seven trays please, none of these bitches are walking out sober”she shouts at the bartender, who laughs at her display. i roll my eyes, not entirely wanting to get drunk but heck it, Soap is with me. 

i cast a glance his way, noting how his eyes were already glued to me.I smile and give a swift twist of the head when the trays, carrying six shots each as well as the additional martini's my companion requested, are placed in front of us. “ to Vinnie!” we chant before taking the shots. i nearly cough from the burn, wiping my mouth of the alcohol dripping down my chin. i smile sheepishly at Vinnie, who laughs at me. 

four hours in and i can barely form a thought, dancing with Vinnie on the dance floor. the rest of the girls tapped out an hour ago, saying they felt the building spin in the universe. 

“hey, i gotta pee” Vinnie slurs, grabbing my hand and making for the ladies room. i wobbly follow behind, trying to focus on which foot goes next. We enter the bathroom and she hastily scurries towards the lavatory - I follow suit, bracing myself against the sink. She begins to chuckle from within the stall, evidently entertained by the comical drawing of a penis on the wall. I roll my eyes in response. i stare at myself in the mirror, my face slap red from the amount of alcohol, it’s almost laughable.

i hear a thud behind me, and turn around to see Vinnie stumble out of the stall, nearly falling face first into the sink. “girl, be careful” i scold lightly, like a mother would her child. she simply grins up at me, too drunk to comprehend my words. "Nyla, such a worry wort" she mumbles drunkenly.

after assisting her in washing her hands, we walk hand in hand out of the bathroom, and only then do i notice how far down the hall it is from the bar, from Soap.

the dim lights flicker in the hallway, giving an eerie feeling to my already uneasy mind. we make it about a quarter way down the hall when Vinnie's hand is suddenly yanked out of mine. i spin around, wobbling as i do so. to see a nasty looking man holding her by the neck and waist. my anger rises, “what the fuck!” i exclaim. i go to take a step forward, when arms creep around my waist, pulling me flush against what i can only assume is the body of a man. “hey hey, don't be harsh. we’re only looking for some fun” the man whispers in my ear, sending a chill down my spine.

where is Soap’s helicopter ass when i need him. i silently curse.

when i thrash in the mans hold, he grips me tighter, moving a hand to my mouth and my eyes widen in fear. I observed Vinnie as she forcefully kicked her assailant's legs, resulting in them losing their grasp on her; she bolted free. I chomp down hard on the man's hand which was covering my mouth, removing a segment of flesh.

He swiftly pulled back his arm, however shockingly kept his hold around my midsection firm, so intense that I couldn't break away. I glance in the direction of Vinnie and give my head a sorrowful shake, the fear evident in my eyes. "get Soap!" I shout, and she immediately takes off, running at such a pace that she disappears down the hallway quicker than a flash. okay, Soap will be here soon, i just need to distract them.

And i do just that-using the arms around my waist to my advantage, I thrust my legs up, sending a powerful kick to the chest of the man standing before me. He is thrown back, desperately trying to regain breath.

my head is suddenly yanked back, and view of my attacker is looming mere inches from my face. “ you’re a real bitch, huh”he grunts. slamming my face into the wall, i grunt as my face ignites with a flood of pain. he loosens his grip momentarily, giving me enough time to spin around, Before I could even think, my fist met his nose with a sickening crunch.

He crashed to the floor, clutching his face in pain. I can hear swift footfalls drawing nearer, so turning around to get a glimpse of the source, I behold an infuriated Soap accompanied by a weeping Vinnie. I found myself flashing an elated yet perhaps unnerving grin, considering the blood-stained corners of my mouth.

Soap comes to a halt inches from me, taking my face in his hands. “are you okay?” his tone is filled with worry, and controlled rage. i nod my head, smiling to reassure him. “yeah, though i’m pissed off, actually. how dare they touch Vinnie and me” I rant, turning around to send a last, swift kick into the ribs of the man behind me. Soap pulls me away gently as security runs up. “let’s get ya cleaned, ya? you look positively rabid bon” i laugh and agree. i grab Vinnie's hand, clutching tightly.

bonus part-

all of 141 gathered around the watch the footage Soap took from the pub. he pressed play on the computer, watching with baited breath. he hears Gaz gasp behind him as they watch the man snatch Vinnie, then Nyla. Ghost squints and leans closer as Nyla raises her legs and kicks the other man, sending him flying into the opposite wall. Price whistles, a proud smirk on his face.

once the video finishes, Soap leans back in his chair, torn between feeling proud and absolutely livid.

"got yourself an mma fighter, huh" Gaz teases. Soap sends him a look, "the lass was piss drunk. I'm both amazed and terrified." Soap grumbles, crossing his arms. His eyes glancing at Ghost, who, has watched the video three times now. " are you sure there isn't something she's hiding from you? if she was as drunk as you say, her movements seem suspicious" Ghost says with caution.

Soap simply smiles and shakes his head, "known the lass since fourth grade, there's nothin' I don know about her"

Gaz sends a worried glance his way, "stalker much?" he adds, sounding slightly concerned.

Soap smiles, not confirming or denying it.
