Incorrect Gravity Falls quote (inspired by Labyrinth)
Stanford Pines: Give me my family
Bill Cipher: Sixer, beware. I have been generous up until now. I can be cruel
Stanford Pines: Generous! What have you done that’s generous?
Bill Cipher: Everything! Everything you wanted; I have done. You summoned me, I came. You wanted a muse, I inspired you. I have reordered time; I have turned the world upside down and I have done it all for you! I’m exhausted from living up to your expectations. Isn’t that generous?
Stanford Pines: Through dangerous untold and hardships unnumbered; I have fought my way here to top of the Fearamid beyond the field of madness bubbles. For my will is as strong as yours and my…
Bill Cipher: Stop! Wait, look Sixer. Look what I’m offering; your dreams!
Stanford Pines: And my kingdom as great…
Bill Cipher: I ask for so little. Just let me rule you and you can have everything you want.
Stanford Pines: Kingdon as great… damn! I can never remember that line!
Bill Cipher: Just fear me, love me, do as I say and I will be your slave.
Stanford Pines: My kingdom as great. My kingdom as great… you have no power over me!

does anyone else have the headcanon that the level of control we see stan having over his mindscape (stan being able to talk to dipper in a memory, stan being able to make his memories into a giant labyrinth and seemingly able to perfectly hide most of the ford memories from everyone else) is, like, exclusive to him?
of course ford would know how to control and shape his own mindscape thanks to previous coaching from his Muse, but, like, stan has had to live a billion lives as fake identities. i headcanon that the mental discipline required to keep his story straight that many times allowed him to build a really thorough and hard-to-navigate mindscape, as well as suppress it all near-instantly in weirdmageddon 3 in order to trick bill
all this to say. i think if you went in soos or wendy’s mindscape and tried to do the same thing dipper did by talking to their memories, their memories would probably start screaming hysterically about being told they’re a memory and the gang would realize that stan is an outlier.

It's so funny that the Mystery Shack is called the Mystery SHACK. What about it is a SHACK????
It has multiple rooms, multiple stories, a gift shop, a show room, school cafeteria sized party room, a carpet room, wax figures room, a secret LAB. Imagine you're Ford coming back through the portal to your giant labyrinth of a house, and it's called the Mystery SHACK
Stan was HOMELESS UNTIL HE LIVED THERE

magical girls turn into witches when they fall into despair and spread despair themselves by causing murders and suicides. they and their labyrinths are usually strange and kinda eldritch looking. when homura turned into a witch and was contained inside her soul gem, the labyrinth inside her gem formed an ideal world for her and trapped madoka in it because she missed her. do you see my vision

Spooktober Day 23 - “Look at the mess you made.”
I believe this is BillStill AU (I don't remember who created it, but I love it).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ford had wanted to clear his mind. He enjoyed his daily adventures with you and Dipper, but he wanted some alone time, to relive the good old days. He loved his adventures with you. Sometimes, however, he wanted to have his own time. There were certain dangerous activities he just didn't think were safe for you or Dipper to experience.
He had been gone for longer than he had anticipated. He had gotten caught up in an intricate labyrinth beneath the lake. He was excited to tell you and Dipper about it and planned to take the two of you tomorrow.
Once he'd finally made his way home, he couldn't wait to see you, to see the excitement on your face when he told you what he'd found. When he walked in, the Shack was quiet.
“Hello?” he called out, setting his bag down by the door. “Anyone home?” Silence greeted him. His brow furrowed. Normally, he would hear the chatter of the twins, your voice in conversation, or Stan grumbling about something, but, now, there was nothing.
“[Y/N]?” he called again. “Kids? Stan?”
The living room was empty and so was the kitchen. Then, a sinking feeling gnawed at his stomach. He quickened his pace, heading toward the attic. That’s when he found you. You were lying on the floor, unmoving. Dipper and Mabel lay beside you, equally still, as though they had simply collapsed where they stood. Your bodies were oddly posed in the shape of a triangle.
Panic shot through Ford. He rushed to your side, kneeling down. His hands trembled as he checked your pulse. You and the twins were alive, but unconscious, and he had no idea why.
He leaned over you, shaking you gently. “[Y/N], please wake up.” He glanced over at the twins. No response. Ford’s mind raced, trying to think of what could have done this. Was it a curse or a spell?
As he stood up, his heart pounding with fear, a slow clap echoed through the room.Ford turned sharply, his heart stopping mid beat as he saw the source of the sound. Standing in the doorway, illuminated by the dim light was Stan. The yellow glow in Stan's eyes.
“Bill,” Ford whispered, his blood running cold.
Bill grinned wider, tilting his head in mockery. “Well, well, well, look who finally decided to show up. You’ve been a little busy, huh, Sixer?”
“How are you here? We erased you!”
Bill chuckled darkly, taking a step forward. His hands tucked casually in Stan’s pockets. “Oh, come on, Fordsy. You really think you could get rid of me that easily? I’m a multi-dimensional being. You can’t just zap me out of existence.”
“What have you done to them?” He glanced at your motionless body. Ford’s jaw clenched. He could feel rage bubbling beneath his skin, but he knew better than to let Bill Cipher provoke him.
Bill’s grin stretched wider, “Oh, don’t worry. They’re just taking a little nap. I needed them out of the way.” He waved a hand lazily at the scene before him. “Look at the mess you made me make.”
Ford’s eyes narrowed, confusion and fury swirling inside him. “What do you mean?”
Bill spread his arms, still wearing Stan’s twisted grin. “You made me do this. All those years of chasing after things you weren’t supposed to know, I helped you find, smart guy! You just couldn’t help yourself, could you?”
Bill laughed. The sound was horrific, Stan's gruff laughed mixed with bill's high-pitched shriek. Ford put himself between your unconscious bodies.
"We had a deal, Stanford," Bill insisted.
Ford’s heart ached at Bill’s words, but he shoved the guilt aside. He wouldn’t let this monster break him. “If you’ve come to kill me, just do it. Leave them out of this.”
“Now, where’s the fun in that? You think I’d come all this way just to end things quickly? No, Sixer, I want you to suffer. I want you to see the people you care about get hurt and it's all because of you.” Bill tsked, wagging a finger.
Ford’s breath hitched, refusing to show fear. “You won’t win, Bill.”
Bill’s eyes gleamed with delight. “I already have.”
Ford was torn. He wanted to protect you, protect the twins, but he couldn't hurt Stan. One hand hovered over the gun on his hip, fingers twitching as he struggled with his own logic.
Bill strolled closer, his grin never fading. “Oh, don’t worry, IQ. I’m not going to kill you, yet. I want you to watch me take everything from you. Your brother Your girlfriend. The kids. One by one, and you’ll know it’s because of you.”
Ford’s vision blurred with rage, but before he could even think of a response, Bill snapped his fingers, and the room began to warp. The air felt heavy, the walls bending and distorting as reality itself twisted around him.

Gravity Falls Doodles
young Stans, mistery twins and some weird shit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
showing some more of my Gravity Falls sketches because I have a LOT of stuff about the twins
some of the drawings have doodles from some of my friends (i like it when they leave drawings in my notebook, I rarely erase them because I leave them as a souvenir)
I really love Relativity AU and the young Stan and Ford, so I usually draw them on my sketchbook :3c
Moving on from the drafts a bit, I'm watching the movie Labyrinth where David Bowie plays Jareth, the goblin king. I thought a lot about my Bill Cipher design and thought about taking elements and the story to create an AU, because since I'm going to take the reference costume, why not the story too?
Tumblr media
Well, here's the first sketch of Bill!! (they/them)
I also saved some pictures of potential characters that I can draw inspiration from some pre-existing ones. I have plans for these pals....

In honor of the book of bill, my first post will be bill cipher!
I’ve assigned him “Should’ve Been Me”. The song’s upbeat sound, the drums and bass paired with the… I think it’s a piano on some sort of synth setting? It all sounds very 80’s and reminds me a lot of Bill. It’s kind of chaotic if you really listen - sometimes the sounds meld together. Now, let’s get on to the lyrics! Mind you, I haven’t fully watched Gravity Falls in years. I was like 12 when it came out. So I’m still trying to remember everything about Bill’s character lol…
Tumblr media
Bill is a very lonely triangle. Even though he had friends and family at one point, there’s nobody he can reeeally talk to (‘and I found I had no one to tell’). What is the strange serenity / overwhelming clean feeling that he can’t tell? I interpreted it as the power he gets especially during Weirdmageddon. The freedom? The chaos? Not sure.
Tumblr media
These verses remind me so much of Bill and Stanford’s relationship in the book.
“You wanted me but couldn’t reach me” Ford referring to bill as his muse, once getting along with him (maybe a bit too much. what the hell happened on karaoke night?!) but now not being able to reach him. He is too far gone.
“So I went into your memory, relived all the ways you still want me” There’s a point in the book where Bill literally possesses Ford’s mind (‘went into your memory’) and makes him do crazy shit. Bill also speaks directly into his mind, making him think that he has nobody except him, (‘relived all the ways you still want me’ needed me!!) threatening him, typical crazy ex stuff.
Tumblr media
I interpreted the girl as being Mabel. He directly says in the book that he relates to Mabel as she’s an agent of chaos. (‘When I saw the girl looked just like me’)
He however feels pity for Mabel and Dipper. Well, maybe not pity. I don’t know if he has the capacity for that. He at the very least acknowledges them being kids going through all these traumatic things. (‘trying to find their way out of a maze.’ the maze being the struggle to survive, as shown by all the timelines where they don’t live.)
Tumblr media
These lyrics were harder. Who has power over Bill??
The axolotl! I interpreted the hand as being the axolotl placing Bill in therapy. (‘a labyrinth, where I’d be stuck a while’.)
Tumblr media
Repetition is big in Mitski songs. We see that Bill kind of goes crazy, repeating “I’m fine”, (‘it should’ve been me’) almost as if to convince himself.
I interpreted these final lines as being his cry of jealously, in a way. It should’ve been me, my plan for the world. Me! ME!
Tumblr media
Here are my second and third choices for Bill:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thank you all for reading. Do you agree with my choice? Do you disagree? Let me know!

Bill Cipher is an Icarus
Originally posted on the Gravity Falls Amino in August, 2019.
In Greek mythology, Icarus was the son of Daedalus who was ordered by King Minos to build a structure that could contain a creature called the Minotaur. Rather than building a prison, Daedalus constructed a labyrinth so complex that anyone who entered could never find their way back out.
Wanting to keep the Minotaur a secret, King Minos locked away Daedalus and his family, including Icarus.
But Daedalus was clever. He built two pairs of wings out of wax and feathers. One for him and one for Icarus. Once the time came to make the attempt to escape, Daedalus warned Icarus not to fly too close to the sun or the wax in his wings would melt. With that, the two started flying toward freedom.
Caught up in the sensation of flight, Icarus forgot his father’s warnings. He went higher and higher, seizing as much of that freedom as he could. He didn’t even notice the wax holding his wings together was melting. Suddenly, the feathers became too loose, and Icarus fell to his death in the sea.
The story of Icarus is referenced to a couple times in Journal 3 by Ford. The first time he’s talking about how jealous he is of his “Muse” (Bill Cipher) for being free from all physical limitations. If a person spends eight hours of every day asleep, then they would be wasting about ⅓ of their life. While working on the portal, Fiddleford was the first to give into fatigue, and warned Ford not to stay up too late:
“‘Don’t forget what happened to Icarus,’ he told me as he packed up his things and left.
‘He didn’t flap hard enough,’ I replied.”
When Ford finds out what Bill was really planning, he admits Fiddleford was right.
Tumblr media
“If only Icarus could see me now.” Ford’s confession that he has flown too close to the sun, a consequence that almost resulted in his and the world’s undoing.
But we know how that story ended, and it wasn’t just Ford’s wings that burned. The moral of Icarus’s story is to never forget your limitations. This is why I argue that the other Icarus in “Gravity Falls” is Bill Cipher.
Over the course of his story, Bill had one goal: to be free from all limitations. How this ambition developed doesn’t matter. What’s important to understand is that Bill’s ultimate goal was to be free from laws and restrictions, and that is why he burned his dimension.
Oh, and for some reason there is still some question if Bill burned his dimension. Let me clear that up.
It’s in the Axolotl’s poem
Tumblr media
It’s in the journal
Tumblr media
He admits to it
Tumblr media
I hope that cleared up any doubts anyone may still have had.
However, burning his dimension didn’t give Bill the freedom he was after. After the fact, he was trapped in the Nightmare Realm for one trillion years, only able to interact with the physical world by means of possession or through the mindscape. That’s a pretty big limitation. That’s why whenever he came close to overcoming that barrier, and failed, he got visibly frustrated and angry.
Tumblr media
Absolute freedom is what Bill preached to justify what he was doing. It was his way of convincing himself that what he was doing, however messed up, wasn’t wrong. Why does he need to convince himself? Because freedom, the one thing he’s after, is the one thing he can never truly have.
The Axolotl’s poem, as I showed you before, gives hints to Bill’s possible return. It’s not a particularly new discovery. Most everyone knows this by now, but for the sake of completion, let me recite those hints one more time:
“If he wants to shirk the blame, he’ll have to invoke (the Axolotl’s) name
One way to absolve his crime. A different form, a different time.”
Basically, if Bill wants to further avoid punishment for the arson, he can invoke the Axolotl. But this proves something about Bill. He’ll never be truly free from the responsibility of burning his dimension. He knows this, and it enrages him.
I mean, how infuriating it must be that the one limitation he can never be free from is the one he imposed on himself. And it’s almost poetic that his downfall happened in a blue fire, similar to his blue fire that he ignites when he makes a deal. Almost like the deal he made with Stan was the moment he flew too close to the sun.
Tumblr media
Since the show ended, there has been a debate whether Bill is evil or tragic. This is my way of arguing both. The truth is, I don’t think there is an evil character who isn’t tragic. Anyone who believes that instigating fear and chaos is the right thing to do must have gone through a lot of pain themselves. That doesn’t make it okay. But it is tragic.
I think what makes an Icarus is when a person gets too cocky and too comfortable, and they start to think they’re invincible. That’s when they fly too close to the sun. But I don’t think the moral of the story should be “remember your limitations”. I think it should be, “stay grounded”. Don’t be afraid to take risks, just remember that they’re risks. And be prepared that you might fall.
2024 Review: This is the second of two posts from Amino I'm posting on this blog. I will be creating one more, original post that briefly summarizes my opinion on Bill as of today, which I will later reblog after The Book of Bill comes out.

What do you think would happen to Ron if he wished Ginny away to the labyrinth because he had a crisis over not being the youngest sibling
This seems like a write the fic moment to me.
Tumblr media
(gif credit @franzias-cave)
Caveat
I don't think Ron had a crisis over not being the youngest sibling canonically.
Ron's sibling rivalry problem was in part because he was one of the youngest siblings, he got everything second hand from several brothers down the line, he didn't even get his own wand, and then he went into Hogwarts and had no way to distinguish himself compared to his brothers who'd already done everything better than he ever could.
Charlie's that cool brother who works with dragons now, Bill's off in exotic places breaking curses, Percy's prefect then head boy, Fred and George are extremely intelligent lunatics who make Ron's life a living hell (yes, guys, they beat his pigmy puff to death with bats, remember this), and there's Ron who gets in and immediately starts self-sabotaging because that way if he fails he's not really failing/was doomed to failure to start with.
Ginny's probably the sibling Ron least has a problem with/pays the least attention to/only occasionally remembers that there's also this nebulous sister hanging around.
Fred and George are getting wished to the Labyrinth far before Ginny ever would be by Ron.
The other caveat being I don't think Ron would. Ron's actually a very reasonable guy and usually the voice of "I think we shouldn't do that" canonically. With the exception of the Ford Angelina incident we have things like Ron not wanting to follow the spiders into the woods because that's insane, in Deathly Hallows being terrified for his sister in Hogwarts and also very concerned about Hermione having them live on a diet of magic mushrooms. Ron gets angry, insulted, and jealous but he's not usually doing anything extreme/fanciful such as wishing someone away to the goblins (that's a Hermione move right there).
So, I a) don't see Ron doing this to Ginny and b) don't see him doing it period.
Fred and George Wish Ginny to the Goblin King
But alright, we'll say Fred and George cursed their sister and sent her to the goblins. Somehow, because Ron's life is what it is, he's the one who gets the blame and has to deal with the Goblin King and get his sister back.
"Oh, tough luck, Ronniekins," George and or Fred hisses.
"Have fun in Fantasy Hell," Fred and or George adds.
Ron then has a terrible time trying to navigate the labyrinth to save Ginny, knowing he's not cut out for this, and because of that self-sabotage and lack of confidence... I imagine he does fail and now Ginny and Ron are both goblins in another dimension.
