Ace Attorney ficlets
uh spoilers for AA4, AA5 and AAI2 I guess, in that order
Awakening
The last person Mia expects to see walk into her hospital room is Phoenix Wright.
The doctor explained to her the circumstances of her injury and subsequent coma. He'd done it with the kind of patient benevolence that would have infuriated Mia, if it weren't for the aching of her body and the wall calendar saying 2022.
She expected Maya, maybe. They said they'd call her, when Mia's first words upon awakening were just her sister's name repeated, but Maya must be the Kurain Master by now, busy and far away. She hadn't expected to see the boy she'd defended, the man whose career she'd only so briefly touched.
Phoenix stares at her. There's a stupid-looking blue beanie in his hands. "Hey, Chief."
"They don't care about you"
The beauty of dressing as brilliantly and as boldly as Klavier does, is that it is child's play to navigate even Los Angeles without drawing attention. The people expect the purple jacket, the Gavinner necklace, the styled blond hair.
He has given it to them recently enough. Last week, even. He roared into the concert venue's parking lot on his favorite blood-red motorcycle, to thunderous cheering and eye-watering camera flashes. Dozens of autographs granted. A few soundbites. He played the — what was it the Fraulein Detective called him — ja, yes, the glimmerous fop to a tee, a loose smile as he ignored the few questions about the Misham trial. Most of the media understood the deal. If they accepted that Klavier the lawyer would not answer their questions, they would get as much of Klavier the performer as they wanted.
Not as much that night. He was there to lend publicity, not steal it. The Gavinner's opener from that last peformance with Lamiroir had had their own tour derailed from the murder case. Attending their concert was the least Klavier could do. Not a hardship, to be surrounded by music and people who paid no attention to murder trials, even ones as big as Kristoph’s.
Today, Klavier dons a disguise. A baggy blue windbreaker that hides his excellent figure, his necklace, chain and rings absent, topped off with an inspired final touch, if he says so himself. A plain black beanie, all of his hair stuffed and twisted within it. He even abandons the motorcycle.
His ride is a beat-up car, picked up from an out-of-the way garage. He drives for an hour or so, strip mall after strip mall and yellowed hill after yellowed hill passing him by on the highway, the telephone wires and billboards blending together. His head grows warm. The car is too quiet.
He opens a window. Leaves the radio untouched. The beanie stays on.
The prison’s parking lot is mostly empty, and when he passes his ID to the guard, the woman barely blinks. All part of the routine.
Not part of the routine is the guard returning within five minutes to say that Kristoph will see him. Klavier stumbles out of his plastic seat so fast that he almost trips. Kristoph never sees him. Klavier has made the drive every week since his return to LA. He’s been turned away every time.
Perhaps Kristoph’s final collapse in court has brought about a change of heart. Unlikely. Yet an opening is an opening, and is meant to be pursued.
Solitary Cell 13 is as plush as it appeared in Wright’s video. Plusher, possibly. Kristoph sits in the floral pink armchair with crossed arms. As Klavier steps closer to the cell bars, a small smile grows on Kristoph’s face.
“Come to boast of your victory?” Kristoph looks as put together as ever. “You always were a sore winner, Klavier. It doesn’t suit you.”
“I wouldn’t call it my victory.” Klavier points out the inaccuracy before Kristoph can. “I lost the Misham trial. I didn’t prosecute your case.” He watched from the gallery as Prosecutor Debeste brought the trial to its final conclusion.
“It’s good to know the limits of your abilities,” says Kristoph. The corner of his eye twitches. “I would invite you in, but I am no longer trusted with that privilege.”
“I prefer the view out here,” says Klavier. The hallway light flickers above him, a crackling that catches his ears’ attention and will not let go of it.
“Weren’t you listening? You don't get to choose,” snaps Kristoph. His gaze narrows. “Why are you here?”
For the first time, Klavier understands his brother. As neat as his hair is and as pressed as his suit is today, Kristoph will always appear to him as he did at the end of the Misham trial. A pathetic, cruel man, with no allies and no escape.
The purpose of Kristoph’s question then, is plain to any lawyer who’s been in court. A trap.
Klavier walks into it. “You’re my brother.”
Satisfaction sparks in Kristoph’s eyes, and Klavier is brought back to a distant memory, of his mother cooing over the similarity of the brothers’ eyes, over a teenage Kristoph’s disgruntled objection that their eyes were different colors.
Kristoph tilts his head. “Does that mean something to you now?”
“It has always meant something to me,” answers Klavier. More honesty. More fodder for his brother.
“I find that hard to believe,” says Kristoph, an edge creeping into his voice, “given the way you offered me up to the slaughter.” He laughs.
Klavier loathes that laugh. In a few months, he will never hear that laugh again. Sooner, if Kristoph decides so.
“And your attire,” continues Kristoph, “is even more ridiculous than usual. Are you taking tips from Wright?”
Kristoph glares at Klavier’s beanie with more passion than Klavier himself has felt for any article of clothing. It hadn’t been intentional, but as with music, who is to say where one’s influences came from?
“Perhaps,” says Klavier.
“Wright.” Kristoph spits the name. “Don’t be naive. They don’t care about you.”
“What?”
“Phoenix Wright. Apollo Justice. Trucy Wright. That detective.” The growl in Kristoph’s throat grows with every sentence, and Klavier finds himself distantly grateful that Skye's name has escaped Kristoph’s notice. “None of them care for you. You were nothing more than a tool for a trial already planned.”
“Oh,” says Klavier. He shrugs. “I’m aware.”
“You—what?” Kristoph rears back as if he were slapped.
“Do you think it was sentiment that moved me?” Klavier steps closer. “A worthy adversary in court. A teenage fan. A man I got disbarred. A capable if distracted subordinate. Did you think I cared more for them than you? I thought you were cleverer than that, ja?”
Kristoph’s mouth moves, but no sound emerges.
Klavier has a dazzling smile, one that breaks the hearts of men and women around the world, one that can make the peak of a guitar solo even higher, one that photographs beautifully. He flashes it. “At the end of the day, Kristoph, all of us are tools. Of each other, of the system, of the truth. The past year has taught me that much.”
“Caring about me,” says Klavier, “is not something I expect of them. Or ever will, I think.”
“It’s time for you to go,” says Kristoph, a venomous look in his eyes. Of all the points in their conversation to upset him so, Klavier had not anticipated this one. Kristoph raises his voice. “Guard!”
“I will be back next week,” says Klavier, though his brother must already know that. “Do you have any food requests? I assume the guards will permit it, given your cell.”
“I can get anything I want here.” Kristoph’s expression grows more spiteful. “Your assistance is unnecessary.”
“You have always been good at going after what you wanted.” Klavier laughs. He raises his hand to run it through his hair, only to run into his beanie. He skims his fingertips against the top edge of the brim, well-aware that Kristoph has cataloged the mistake.
The guard arrives to escort him out. As he turns to leave, Klavier adds, “I learned that from watching you.”
For your own good
"Athena, have you found Aura's-"
"No," says Athena, her voice distant.
The headphones are so light. That's Athena's first thought, when she picks them up from the mess of a desk drawer. Her second is that her hands are so big around each of them. Had her head really been that small?
"What?" says Simon's voice. "Oh."
When Athena looks up, she thinks: You're standing too far away.
He's back by the lab window, his hands behind his back as a look of surprise crosses his face. They're used to each other in court, she swears, a flurry of "Objection!"s and "Silence!"s, a case and the truth on the line. Here in this lab that belongs to neither of them but is undeniably theirs, Athena is reminded of all those times Simon casually patted her head as he walked by, or the few occasions she'd dared to tug on his sleeve to ask him something.
She makes a face. It'd be weird for any of that to happen now. She doesn't want it to. But she does want to be friends with Simon. She stomps over to him so he can actually see the stupid headphones.
Simon frowns. "I thought I cleaned it off and left it with you."
"Mom always kept extras in the lab." Athena shrugs. "In case I forgot them upstairs." Her eyes dart to the photo of her mother on Aura's desk. "I'm surprised she didn't throw them all away."
Simon opens his mouth, and then shuts it, apparently thinking better of what he was about to say. Athena spins one of the headphones around her index finger, letting it go round after round before catching it in her palm.
It's funny. As a kid, Athena liked Aura more than Simon. Simon was new and talked way too loudly and spent so much time with her mom using words she didn't understand. Her mom left conversations with him using even more of those words. Athena didn't enjoy one of the few voices she could stand being taken from her that way.
Aura liked and knew how to explain her robots to anyone, even Athena and often Junie. And sure, sometimes Aura got into moods where she'd spend hours on her robots, with Mom saying she didn't want to be disturbed, but Athena understood that. She hid from people so often herself. It wasn't like now, every person an opportunity for discovery, a potential puzzle to be probed and resolved. Back then, people's voices bled straight into her heart with no interpretation to mediate, a flood of warring emotions, false faces, lies to themselves. Retreating to the lab to scrawl out a drawing felt so much better. Mom and Aura had never minded.
Athena wanders over to where they've organized all the other stuff they've found. "We can toss these into the throw pile."
She's halfway through digging through the rest of the mess in drawer when-
"The headphones were to help you," says Simon suddenly, from his own messy corner.
"I know," snaps back Widget, before Athena can. She doesn't hate them. She's just not that little kid who needs them anymore.
When she looks at Simon, there's a tension around his eyes, as if he needs Athena to understand this. As if he hadn't already said this in court. As if it's important he says it outside of court too.
Maybe it is, Athena thinks, remembering all those hours that his sister and her mother spent working together here, spinning up ideas that had nothing to do with space travel. She shifts the headphones to a different pile, the one for unfinished projects that other engineers might pick up. "Maybe they can help someone else."
Simon opens his mouth. Pauses. This time he charges ahead, saying, "She wanted you to see the world, you know." His words are slow. He's reluctant to betray her mother's confidence, all these years later. "She hoped that your ability could be a gift to you, not a curse. That you wouldn't have to spend years trapped here. Or anywhere."
Every word is wrapped in a thin layer of fear.
Athena wants to scream. She wants to yell at him again for what he did, to ask him if her mother's words were why he did it, if it was worth what has become of his sister.
Instead, she grins, holding out her hand in a peace sign. "I've been to so many countries, Prosecutor Blackquill. Way more than you!" She takes a step back towards the desk, and then turns back to point at him. "What was the most annoying thing about my mom as a mentor?"
"What?" Simon looks grievously offended. It makes him look years younger. "Your mother was an excellent mentor."
"There had to be something you didn't like. Anything. You have to tell me, you know."
He squints. "I'll....think on it. I doubt there is anything."
"Think harder! Come up with something before I'm done with this drawer." Athena dives back in.
Beauty
It's unusual of him, Miles knew, to have disclosed his history with Wright to Kay. There were too many possible causes to fault. That Kay was an adult, for long enough that she'd stopped reminding him of that fact. That they were thousands of miles away from Los Angeles - her on a grand tour of Europe for purposes he'd prefer not to hear about, him studying yet another law system in yet another country. That halfway through pouring small glasses of scotch from the bottle kept in his desk, he realized it was Von Karma's favorite kind.
That Wright's latest email revealed little and accepted even less.
Kay leaned back against his desk next to him. She gestured with her glass, the liquid sloshing dangerously within it. Kay spoke before Miles could encourage some restraint. "Mr. Edgeworth! That's so beautiful, your friend would make a very good thief. Not as good as me, of course."
"I-" Miles sputtered. He reached up to place his own empty glass on the desk behind him. "A thief? How does that make any sense?"
Kay gulped down more scotch. When she grimaced at the taste and tried to hide it, Miles couldn't help but think of the first time Franziska had drank with him and Von Karma. He'd never seen Franziska drink whiskey since Von Karma's arrest, only the occasional pilsner.
(He tried to remember if his father had drank.
Miles could ask Mr. Shields.
Miles wouldn't.)
The comparison with Franziska was dismissed from his mind when Kay passionately clenched her fist to her chest, her eyes softening.
"Von Karma stole you," explained Kay with unwarranted confidence - perhaps he shouldn't have poured her that second glass - and she turned towards him, "and Mr. Wright stole you back!"
"It's not theft when it's a person..."
It seemed there would be no end to the thief metaphors. Or the Jammin' Ninja metaphors, for Kay then deemed it necessary to compare their past to some absurd plotline from that inferior show, casting Wright as the Ninja and Miles as Princess Misola. Ridiculous. Wright had no knack for music.
Furthermore, there was a Steel Samurai storyline from three years ago that fit the situation far better.
The conversation drifted to which European countries they've both been to and which they haven't, Miles grateful that Kay either forgot to or declined to ask what happened with Wright next. He had no intention of spreading the news of the man's disbarment. A disbarment he knows must be unwarranted.
Yet the few emails he'd sent to Wright had been met with nothing more than polite bemusement, casual acceptance of the end of a career and mentions of that new daughter.
If Wright needed him in the courtroom again, Miles would be on a plane tonight. If Wright was in the hospital again, Miles would be on a plane tonight. But Wright's emails were clear. Wright had no need of him, and so Miles had no right to interfere.
Stole you back, Kay had said. Thieves, as did most criminals, cared little for what their rights were.
Miles Edgeworth was no thief. He was a prosecutor, through and through.
I owe Wright too much, thought Miles, his chest warm from the alcohol, to be the one to steal him.
"It's broken"
“I spy an incongruity between our victim and these surroundings. The full autopsy report might offer an explanation, of course, but…Sebastian. What do you think explains it?”
Sebastian had heard the last question a lot ever since he started shadowing Mr. Edgeworth. Usually, it meant Mr. Edgeworth already knew the answer to his question, and wanted to see if Sebastian could figure it out on its own. Maybe he’d already solved the entire case in his head? No, Sebastian reminded himself, Mr. Edgeworth doesn’t like wasting time. If he had solved the case, he’d be storming into the coroner’s office by now.
His conducting baton flexed between his hands, Sebastian considered the question. The victim was a middle-aged man dressed in a fancy-looking tuxedo, the kind Pops hated wearing, but the body was lying in a shabby studio apartment that was smaller than the garage of Pops’ house. My house.
He shook off the thought. Mr. Edgeworth was still waiting for an answer, his arms crossed as he stared at Sebastian. Sebastian would’ve thought it a glare, but he’d learned over the past few months that Mr. Edgeworth’s face was just like that.
An answer came forth. The victim didn’t live here…which means someone moved the body here….maybe the killer? The killer lives here, and was interrupted. Yes, that must be it! Sebastian opened his mouth.
He closed it. He reminded himself that he couldn’t trust his first guess. His gaze traveled to the victim’s face, and then to the pictures stuck to the fridge, the bills on the table, and the shoes by the door. “He lived here. There are photographs of him on the fridge in that scarf that’s on the couch.”
“Hmm,” said Mr. Edgeworth.
Sebastian pressed on, “I-I don’t think the outfit is his. The shoes are too big. I think someone either lent him the clothes, or dressed him after he died. Maybe the second one, because there isn’t blood anywhere other than on his clothes.”
“We haven’t looked under the body yet,” pointed out Mr. Edgeworth, and Sebastian winced. Mr. Edgeworth continued, “However, in essence, I’ve arrived at the same conclusion.”
Sebastian straightened up, pleased. A loud CRACK! erupted between his hands, and sudden pain whipped across his chin. He staggered back. Two sticks dropped from his hand. Two? But—
He dropped to his knees, grabbing one of the pieces of his baton. It was the bottom half, a sharp edge across it that explained the throbbing of his chin. He’d bent it too hard. Stupid. He needed to find the other half. It’s from Pops, I can’t lose it.
“Sebastian,” said Mr. Edgeworth, suddenly next to him and not across the room. When did that happen? Mr. Edgeworth’s hand hovered over his shoulder. “Sebastian, you’re bleeding.”
“It’s broken,” said Sebastian, tears welling up in his eyes. Mr. Edgeworth looked confused, and Sebastian realized how stupid he sounded. He stuck his hand under the couch, relieved when he felt the other half of his baton. He showed both pieces to Mr. Edgeworth, and tried to explain. “I don’t want to laminate—I mean, contaminate, the crime scene.”
Mr. Edgeworth’s gaze dropped down to the pieces in his hands. Sebastian didn’t like the way Mr. Edgeworth’s forehead tensed up, as if he were solving a crime scene.
“A well-founded concern,” said Mr. Edgeworth. “To that end, Detective Gumshoe should be able to assist you with that injury. He is well-supplied with band-aids, given his own mishaps.”
Sebastian nodded, jumping to his feet. “I’ll be right back.”
He fiddled with the broken pieces of his baton in his pocket while waiting for the elevator. He’d only ever had the one baton. He didn’t even know it could break. Of course my idiot son found the one way to break it, says Pops’ voice. Maybe he could find out where Pops had gotten this one? Justine would help. More tears came.
No, retorted a part of Sebastian, that’s enough. He blinked hard. He—he didn’t need a stupid baton to prosecute. Especially not one from him. He needed to stop reacting to every little thing like this.
Pops had alternated between floods of tears and fires of rage, leaving Sebastian and everyone else in suspense as to which mood was next. Sebastian had meant what he’d told Mr. Edgeworth. He wasn’t going to be like his father. If he wanted to be like another prosecutor, he wanted to be like Mr. Edgeworth. He wanted to be even better than Mr. Edgeworth.
And Mr. Edgeworth didn’t cry.
Sebastian stepped into the elevator, and swallowed down his tears.

Securing Justice After a Dog Bite: The Role of a Personal Injury Lawyer in Las Vegas
Experiencing a dog bite can be a harrowing ordeal, leaving behind physical trauma, emotional anguish, and financial strain. If you or a loved one has fallen victim to a dog bite, enlisting the services of a personal injury lawyer in Las Vegas can be pivotal in transforming your status from victim to victor. This article delves into the indispensable role of a personal injury lawyer and how they can champion your rights, steering you towards the compensation you rightfully deserve.

Expertise in Dog Bite Laws
Navigating the intricacies of dog bite laws, which can vary across jurisdictions, can be overwhelming when done alone. A proficient personal injury lawyer specializing in dog bites possesses a deep understanding of the statutes and regulations specific to Las Vegas. They will educate you on your rights, assess the strength of your case, and guide you through the legal maze.
Determining Liability
Crucial to any Dog Bite Case is the determination of liability. While dog owners are typically held strictly liable for their pets' actions, additional parties such as landlords or property owners may also be accountable. A personal injury lawyer will meticulously investigate the incident, gather evidence, and identify all potential parties liable for your injuries. This comprehensive approach enhances your chances of receiving fair compensation.
Building a Strong Case
Evidence is the cornerstone of a strong case. A personal injury lawyer has the expertise and resources to collect and preserve evidence supporting your claim. This may include medical records, injury photographs, witness statements, and other relevant documentation. Working with medical experts, they can assess the extent of your injuries and present a robust case during negotiations or in court.
Dealing with Insurance Companies
Insurance companies often employ tactics to minimize settlements or deny claims. Having a personal injury lawyer by your side ensures you have a skilled negotiator advocating for your best interests. Well-versed in dealing with insurance companies, your attorney will fight to secure fair compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and any other damages incurred.
Maximizing Compensation
Recognizing the profound impact of a dog bite, a personal injury lawyer diligently works to maximize your compensation. They consider various factors, including medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, lost wages, future treatment needs, and long-term consequences. By thoroughly evaluating your damages, your attorney seeks the compensation necessary for you to rebuild your life.
Litigation and Trial Representation
While many cases are settled outside of court, some may require litigation. In such instances, having a personal injury lawyer experienced in trial representation is invaluable. They prepare a compelling case, cross-examine witnesses, and passionately argue on your behalf, ensuring strong representation throughout the legal process.
Conclusion
Your personal injury lawyer is your advocate, tirelessly fighting for your rights and ensuring you receive the compensation you deserve. ANIMAL IN YOU .... WARTHOG
Warthog Characteristics: Industrious • Bright • Brave • Blunt • Cranky
Scientific Name: Phacochoerus aethiopicus
Collective Term: A revolt of warthogs
"Never try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and it annoys the pig." ~Robert Heinlein Warthogs are those seemingly self-assured individuals who are never at a loss for words. Their bellicose behavior dominates all aspects of their successful lives (a la Donald Trump.) Neither polished nor good-looking, warthogs have stumbled upon a unique combination of aggression and charisma and have adopted it as their survival strategy. Although these ultra-intelligent animals are self-centered to the core, they do have a few redeeming qualities that make them worthy of business partnerships and interesting relationships.
Little pride is taken in their physical appearance and they are homely in both personality and countenance. Preferring intimidation and bluster in achieving their goals, they have little inclination to observe social niceties. Their distaste for etiquette also extends to their backbiting and manipulation, but they can be quite charming when the situation calls for it.
With their uncanny ability to discern the motives of others, warthogs are masters at spotting weaknesses in their opponents. But as is typical of most herbivores, their swaggering behavior stems from deep insecurities. Hostility is a wonderful defensive tool, made even more potent when combined with a quick tongue and sharp mind.
Reflected in their unkempt personal living quarters, their personal life is disorganized and resembles a pigsty. Warthogs thrive on clutter and chaos.
A warthog's active mind is always on the lookout for opportunities, and they are canny business people who respect strength and loyalty in others, and their excellent negotiating skills stand them in good stead in their business dealings. They persevere until their goals are met, even if it means fighting dirty or breaking the law to do so.
It's common for warthogs to be self-employed. With their self-discipline and strength of character, they are formidable business adversaries. They reward loyalty but have a vindictive streak for those who cross swords with them. Their tempers often overcome their good judgment.
Warthogs make excellent personal injury lawyers, salespeople, mercenaries or poker players. Even though warthog personalities are almost universally disliked they are able to succeed by determination alone.
The warthog is an odd quadruped. It has a flat -- almost concave -- head ornamented with four large warts, two razor-sharp curling tusks, and a thick, sinewy neck.
Warthogs are principally grazers but have been known to take carcasses abandoned by other carnivores or an animal that has died from natural causes. Its neck is too short for easy feeding on the sparse grass of the African plains, and it is often seen on its knees, gazing and rooting along the dusty veldt.
Warthogs are virtually fearless and have been observed turning the tails on pursuing leopards or elephants. Sows with young are particularly bold and do not hesitate to make physical contact with marauding predators.
The warthog uses its intense personality to barrel into a lover's life. By saying the right things long enough to get its foot in the door, it will quickly take control of the relationship.
As a lover, the warthog is usually selfish but will please its partner if it expects to receive something in return. Ideal partners are individuals that actually enjoy being dominated and the timid snake, cottontail and shrew personalities make for satisfyingly submissive sexual liaisons.
There's an odd quirk to the warthog personality. It will occasionally fall head over heels for its partner and act like a lovesick puppy. However, since the warthog hates the feeling of being out of control, it soon pulls itself together and resumes its boarish behavior.
The warthog's relentless manipulation tends to scare off potential partners. If it wants a good run for its money and is willing to take a chance, interesting things will happen when it gets together with a baboon or a bison. These animals stabilize the warthog and enduring relationships are not uncommon.

Johnny Depp’s witnesses’ testimonies, part 1. TW//RAPE, ABUSE.
Christie Dembrowski:
She claimed that Johnny Depp was a shy, quiet boy. Christie said she was also shy and quiet, so she wasn’t abused that much by their mother as Depp was. And it doesn’t make any sense.
Christie is ON DEPP’S PAYROLL.
She also claimed that Depp didn’t have any addictions, Depp only had problems with pain medication. However, Dr Kipper sent Christie an email updates about Johnny Depp’s detox treatment. Hence she lied about not knowing about it.
Christie also sent text messages to Johnny Depp. Her answer was: I don’t remember the context of the messages, and that’s life.
To other stuff, she said: I DON’T RECALL.
Isaac Baruch:
Isaac lived in Johnny Depp’s penthouse FOR FREE.
He also claimed that Depp gave him 100k over the years.
Baruch tells jurors he never saw Heard and Depp get in physical altercations. He says he only heard them argue twice, once over the phone.
Baruch SAW wine stains and broken glass on the floor after May incident in 2016.
Baruch says, when speaking with Heard, she did not have any bruises, swelling or red marks on her body. But Baruch tells jurors he doesn't know Heard's regular makeup routine, and cannot say with absolute certainty that she was not wearing makeup when he saw her.
Bredehoft: Do you recall Mr. Depp ever telling you that he hoped that Amber's rotting corpse is rotting in the fucking trunk of a Honda Civic? Baruch: Yeah, I'm seeing it here [on the texts]. So obviously it was written.
Brandon Patterson, general manager of the Eastern Columbia Building in LA:
He claimed he saw the footage of one female ‘’fake punching’‘ Amber Heard. But also stated that FOOTAGE DOES NOT EXIST!!! Patterson doesn’t recall, when it happened!
Patterson says there are 80+ video clips saved from Depp and Heard's time at the building. You can watch them here: https://ffxtrail.azurewebsites.net/
Kate James:
Kate James was very rude to Amber Heard’s lawyer, BUT totally different towards Johnny Depp’s lawyer.
When asked if she had any real care about Heard's wellbeing, James said, "No."
Johnny Depp sent Kate James a text messages where he sid he wants to fix her flabby ass. James says she did meet with Depp, but that they did not drink red wine. She says she does not recall details saying, "It's too long ago, Mr. Rottenborn. I don't recall." Worth mentioning that Kate James during UK trial FORGOT about those text messages(court transcript, day 7, page 1221) .
Kate James claimed that Amber verbally abused her, screamed at her. But she doesn’t have any evidence of it and those text messages magically disappeared from ICloud(she stated that during UK trial)(court transcript, day 7, page 1232).In addition, she never mentioned in her witness statements that Amber spit on her, not once.
Remember how she claimed in her witness statement and during her cross examination that Amber Heard asked her if she knows how to fake documents about the dogs(taking them to Australia) and that Amber Heard stole her ‘’rape story’‘(court transcript, day 7, page 1230) . Well, SHE DIDN’T MENTION THEM ALL during VA trial.
Laurel Anderson, psychotherapy for couples:
"Is it your testimony that while Mr. Depp said he was never violent with other partners there was violence from Mr. Depp towards Amber." The Dr says YES.
Depp said Amber "gave as good as she got." on her birthday in 2016.
"Always hitting him BACK was a point of pride (for Amber)... eventually she began hitting first." Now that's a money shot. It shows Depp was the aggressor and Heard eventually began going on offense to defend herself.
Anderson SAW the bruising in person and Heard also showed her photos of her injuries.
Johnny Depp said about Amber Heard: ‘’No one likes you. You’re getting fame from. I’m falling out of love with you. You’re a whore’‘
Gina Deuters, Johnny' Depp’s friend:
Gina Deuters testimony has been struck from the record and she's been excused because she'd been watching the trial this week. That was so FUNNY!!
Dr Kipper, Johnny Depp’s doctor:
Dr. Kipper testifies Depp was seeking treatment for substance abuse: Alcohol, opiates, stimulants.
Dr. Kipper testifies Depp had mood swings that ranged from "good" to "bad."
Depp tested positive for cocaine and THC.
Depp texted to Kipper he "shot a few negroes" in a bar on sunset blvd.
“patient said he punched whiteboard in kitchen after fight…. fiance got upset said he was not giving her enough support and the fight escalated from there…”
Johnny Depp admits to Dr Kipper that he cut how own finger: “Hi. Fuck, man. Had another one. She is as full of shit as a Christmas Goose. I’m done. NO MORE!!! The constant insults, the demeaning, belittling most heartbreaking smew [?] that is only released from a malicious, evil and vindictive cunt!!!!! But you know what?? Far more hurtful than her venemous and degrading ‘educational’ ranting… ??? It is her hideously and purposely hurtful tirades and her goddamn shocking treatment of the man she was meant to love above all… here’s the real deal mate… her obsession with herself?? is far more important, she is SO FUCKING AMBITIOUS!!! She’s so desperate for success and fame. It’s probably why I was acquired mate…!! Although the she has hammered me with what a sad old man has-been I am… cowan [?] has done me the most cruel favours - I’m so very sad... I cut the top of my middle finger off… what should I do!?? except of course go to a hostpital… I’m so embarrassed for jumping into anything with her FUCK THE WORLD!!! JD”
Dr Kipper saw blood on the walls and the house was a mess(Australia incident, March 2015).

for when you forget / self para
Carol,
I did win (not thanks to this memory loss bullshit). You’ll remember relatively soon. It doesn’t normally take longer than a couple of days, maybe three. But, in the meantime, this is your essentials rubric. Try to enjoy things. I’d ask fewer questions if I were in your shoes (no, I would obviously not).
This is happening because of an arena injury (duh). Minute 08:12 if you want to see it on tape. Yes, it happened within the first moments of the arena. The person pushing you is Maize. You kill her later. She wasn’t even that awful, but she did leave us this permanent gift.
No, killing is not overrated, but it wasn’t easy either. For all sorts of reasons.
Sit down for this. Rio was in there with you. Now, do the math yourself. Yes, you did. No, it wasn’t. Better not unpack it right now, but that fancy bronze jar on the nightstand? We call it an urn. Inside is Rio (sorry, there is really no better way to say it). Lock your room. It’s stolen from the Odairs (you’re really not in a great position with them right now, so maybe don’t try to contact one? And, if you see one, avoid it and leave it for me. Leave it for later.)
Don’t let anything they’re saying get to you. Don’t be so phased (it is necessary that you prove them wrong). You might want to know that you killed President Battenberg’s niece, too. Don’t even regret it. She was a big bitch. Still, it might come up and give you some extra headache.
You’re allowed to do whatever the fuck you want (boring). If further questions cross your mind, go to Ashton Declan. I guess we trust him. Questions you’ve asked before are on the back (so we wouldn’t be a loop of annoyance to him, right?).
No, I did not develop a double personality. It’s just a confusing letter to write.
Carol
Questions asked after:
What arena? Las Vegas, 127. It’s some sort of gamble heaven casino city surrounded by desert. Awful weather conditions. Very trap-oriented (that could have been fun, if not for everything else happening). Barely four days.
What is my role within the Tower? I asked for trainer. You can do that even without remembering the details.
Mom and dad? They’re fine. Not too crazy about dear Carol being a ruthless killer on live television. Well, I also did have sex on live television, but I’m sure that’s not the real problem. You do not need them.
Relationship with the Odairs? Don’t act too shocked to learn they hate you. You did not only kill Rio, but you also stole his remains. It’s fine. They were supposed to be yours all along. They sued you. Nothing about any trials yet, but it will go down. I hired a pretty good lawyer, don’t think about it.
An eleven for the skill presentation. Yes. (Rio, a ten)
I cannot believe this pathetic question you asked Ashton Declan out loud. I broke up with Rio in 118. We were not dating and definitely not married. We weren’t nothing, either. I don’t feel like writing about it, so wonder for a little. It doesn’t change anything, and don’t think to ask other people. How would they know? Only I know. And I’m not writing it down here like in some sort of stupid diary.
No, you don’t have another boyfriend. Please don’t think it’s a good idea to hit on Ashton Declan again, either.
Just maybe don’t talk to so many people. I don’t want to have to fix any possible accidental bullshit situation.
The Victor’s house is fine. You have pictures of it on your phone. (Don’t call him. It’s out of service, and also what was I expecting?)
The cut on the leg is Gamemaker inflicted. You walked through really sharp and big glass shards.
Four’s tributes are Eurydice and Thetis Atlantica. Yes, Sirena’s sisters. It turns out, your initial opinion is correct. They mostly suck (at least Eurydice).
You have a decent relationship with Sirena. Not too friendly. I’m not fun these days, sorry.
#self para#128#for when you forget#;self inflicted apocalypse#aka the one where carol learns about himself that he's very pathetic

hey great blog, thank you for your work and dedication. I have been studying in bcn for 8 years, I can speak catalan but not perfectly so I get embarrassed to talk... if you haven't already, can you make a post with a list of trusted groups/NGOs that support catalan causes? Legal help to immigrants, anti-racist, anti police brutality, for equality of gender, climate change, LGBTQ+ etc. I want to participate and learn without putting myself at risk of expulsion as a foreigner.
Thank you very much!
Crida LGBTI: organization for sexual and gender liberation, with the purpose of fighting against LGBTIQ+-phobia, patriarchy and capitalism.
Òmnium Cultural: this is probably the biggest organization, they work for many different causes in Catalan society but focus on freedom of expression and thought, the right to self-determination and freedom of political prisoners, promotion of Catalan language and culture, and education. Right now they’re doing a campaign to investigate the Spanish monarchy’s corruption.
Unitat contra el feixisme i el racisme: as you can see in the name they work against fascism and racism. It’s a wide platform made of many local organizations that come together to oppose and confront right wing extremism (like Vox, but more than just that).
SOS racisme: an organization that fights against racism and xenophobia. They work to eliminate this discrimination in all its forms and all ambits of society, attend victims of racism/xenophobia, and work together with institutes of human rights of the Catalan government.
Casa nostra, casa vostra: organization that works to welcome refugees to Catalonia and other things against racism. Now they’re doing the campaign Papers per a tothom (papers for everyone) to demand regularization of immigrants (right now you’ve probably heard the news about the temporary workers who come annually from Africa to work in the fields during harvest season that are sleeping on the streets in Lleida, it’s for that people and more who could be in a similar situation).
Stop maremortum: platform to stop the deaths of migrants crossing the Mediterranean. They work raising awareness, in the judicial sphere protecting the rights of migrants, demanding political parties to make clear solutions, etc.
Tanquem els CIE: campaign to close the CIEs (internment centers of foreigners) and stop deportations.
Associació Catalana per la Pau: they do different things around the world.
Irídia: an association that works for civil and political rights in Catalonia, it’s formed by lawyers, psychologists, journalists, sociologists and more. They are mostly known because they offer free defence for victims of police brutality and human rights repression (like people who are accused of injuries against the monarchy, ““enalting terrorism”“ for a pro-independence tweet, people arrested at protests, labour rights activists, etc), but they also work to change public policy. If you become associated you give a monthly donation and participate in the general assemblies to decide where to direct efforts next.
Fridays for Future Barcelona
while looking for f4f I found this website for being a volunteer in different wildlife and nature projects. I don’t personally know the organizations of this website though, but they’re legit.
You can also look for your local food bank and the unions for your job (or if you’re a student there are too). Most unions also have specific sectors for specific causes (women, LGBTIQA+, migrants).
And depending on your politicial affiliation, there’s other organizations that work on a wider range of topics. I don’t know your age or anything else, but for example La Forja (the youth organization) and Poble Lliure (the non-youth organization), or Arran (youth) and Endavant (not youth), or Jovent Republicà or many others work on all those topics from different approaches.
If you are pro-independence, I recommend you look for your local CDR. It’s the horizontal assemblies of towns or quarters that work on so much more than just for independence and against monarchy. They’re very left-wing and all social causes are considered important in creating a new society.
These are the ones I could think of that are well-known and respected nation-wide, but most importantly there are a lot of local associations for each town or quarter (for example, there’s a list of associations that collaborate in the platform against sexist violence Plataforma Unitària contra la Violència de Gènere and you can see a lot of organizations of each quarter of Barcelona and other cities).
I don’t think you would be at risk of expulsion for being a foreigner in any of these organizations nor in left-wing organizations in general. I hope you didn’t say that because of you experienced it 😔
Lastly, since we’re talking about NGOs and volunteering, maybe you’d be interested in Voluntariat per la Llengua. It’s a volunteer programme organized by Plataforma per la Llengua (NGO that works to defend Catalan and Aranese languages) that pairs together a native Catalan speaker (or someone who has lived here for a long time and speaks very well) with someone who is learning the language, most often immigrants, so they can practise together.

Limitations Of The Right To Counsel And Impacts
By Alex Pagel, University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Class of 2021
June 19, 2020

Ratified as part of the Bill of Rights in 1791, the Sixth Amendment addresses the rights of American citizens when facing criminal prosecution. There are many rights afforded to citizens in the Sixth Amendment including the right to public trial by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed; the right to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses opposing him; to have the ability to obtain witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense1. For the last two and a half centuries, this legislation has been a cornerstone of proper adjudication in America. The Sixth Amendment's right to counsel guarantee is particularly important to Americans and has been subject to significant interpretational modification over time. The provision’s original wording granted each citizen the right to the ‘assistance of counsel’, but did not clarify what constitutes such assistance. Over the course of the 20th century, though, this uncertainty has become more clear.
In one of the first cases surrounding the matter, the 1942 case of Betts v. Brady, the Supreme Court held that defendants who were unable to afford an attorney did not have the right to one appointed by the state under the Sixth Amendment2. However, this was overturned in Gideon v. Wainwright (1963) which asserted that state-appointed counsel must be provided to defendants if they can’t afford private representation in all cases facing felony charges3. Having clarified who the Sixth Amendment protected, the Court then addressed what exactly constitutes effective counsel. In Strickland v. Washington (1984), a two-part test was established to determine if a defendant’s counsel adequately represented the defendant. This test requires that in order to prove ineffective counsel, a defendant must show (1) that their trial lawyer's performance fell below an objective standard of reasonableness and (2) a reasonable probability that if not for the counsel's unprofessional errors, the result of the proceeding would have been different4. The Court then utilized Brewer v. Williams (1997) to specify when counsel becomes guaranteed. Here, it was declared that the right to counsel is earned “at or after the time that judicial proceedings have been initiated against him (the defendant), whether by formal charge, preliminary hearing, indictment, information, or arraignment”5. These limitations do not ensure the defendant counsel at any time before an arrest has been made and provide some clarity as to what constitutes legitimate assistance of counsel under the Sixth Amendment.
As the litany of changes in the interpretation of the right to counsel shows, it’s understanding has drastically changed over time. What was once a right afforded to those who could only afford private representation is now one which is guaranteed to any person facing criminal prosecution. Yet, this right to state-appointed representation is not afforded to defendants to the same extent in civil cases. While multiple Supreme Court rulings have found that the right to counsel may apply to civil cases under certain circumstances, the extent to its application is determined largely on a case-by-case basis. The Court’s ruling in In Lassiter v. Department of Social Services (1981) effectively determined that the Court would only recognize an indigent person’s right to appointed counsel in civil cases when the litigant could lose his or her physical liberty if he/she lost the litigation6. However, this situation is far less common in civil cases than criminal suits. Therefore, cases involving personal injury, contracts, divorce, property and other civil law areas, generally are not afforded the right to state-appointed counsel.
The limitation of the right to counsel in civil cases is significant because it greatly affects who is more likely to win a case. According to a recent Pepperdine Law Review study which measured the rate of success in cases brought by parties with an attorney versus those in which no attorney was present, legal representation is correlated with better outcomes for litigants in numerous areas of civil law, including small claims, bankruptcy, housing and family law7. This finding was substantially reinforced by a University of Colorado Center on Law and Policy study on the effect of litigation in eviction courts. In reviewing 93,000 eviction cases, the Center found that renters without legal representation were evicted 68% of the time from private housing and 43% of the time from public housing. But, in contrast, those who were represented by counsel were not evicted from their private and public housing at rates of 94% and 80% respectively8. These findings highlight the substantial difference having an attorney in civil cases has on their outcomes. These differences are likely the result of legal knowledge, training, and experience that an attorney provides in litigation that an individual representing him or herself simply does not have.
This lack of representation is typically not a choice for litigants; they commonly act without an attorney because they can’t afford one. With civil attorney fees often ranging from $100 to $500 per hour, or being based on other expensive contingency charges, it's no surprise many people can’t afford private representation. The inability for these people to afford a private attorney requires litigants to self-represent in trial. According to the Self-Represented Litigation Network, an estimated one out of six Americans is a self-represented litigant each year in a newly filed case, and three out of five people in a civil case represent themselves in court9. While this plight is prevalent in all areas of civil law, the most common case-types in which litigants self-represent are small claims (91.1%), civil infractions (83.1%), and cases of unlawful detaining (81.1%)10; the outcomes of which can affect your finances, permanent record, and/or future employment prospects.
As the right to counsel has been continually interpreted by 20th century courts, our guarantees under its provisions have become much more clear. However, our better understanding of this right has not suppressed the causal impacts it has had on civil court proceedings. Limiting the right to counsel to criminal trials has forced many civil litigants to self-represent in cases involving eviction, family, small claims, and more, all while realizing that doing so without having counsel gives them a lesser chance to win their case. As the interpretation of this right is unlikely to change in the foreseeable future and costs of private representation remain high, it appears self-representation in civil cases will remain common. This may be bad news for indigent litigants in the courtroom, especially when their physical liberty is not at risk and therefore, no right to counsel will be guaranteed.

From navigating complex laws to building a strong case, negotiating with insurance companies, and representing you in court if necessary, they play a crucial role in your journey from victim to victor.

What Animal Are You?
You are a Warthog
Warthogs are those seemingly self-assured individuals who are never at a loss for words. Their bellicose behavior dominates all aspects of their successful lives (a la Donald Trump.) Neither polished nor good-looking, warthogs have stumbled upon a unique combination of aggression & charisma & have adopted it as their survival strategy. Although these ultra-intelligent animals are self-centered to the core, they do have a few redeeming qualities that make them worthy of business partnerships & interesting relationships.
The Warthog's Personality's Daily Life
Little pride is taken in their physical appearance & they are homely in both personality & countenance. Preferring intimidation & bluster in achieving their goals, they have little inclination to observe social niceties.
Hostility is a wonderful defensive tool, made even more potent when combined with a quick tongue & sharp mind.
Warthog reading habits reflect their personalities, and they're more likely to be reading The Game than Eat, Pray, Love. Reflected in their unkempt personal living quarters, their personal life is disorganized & resembles a pigsty. Warthogs thrive on clutter & chaos.
The Warthog's Personality's Career
A warthog's active mind is always on the lookout for opportunities, and they are canny business people. They respect strength & loyalty in others, and their excellent negotiating skills stand them in good stead in their business dealings. They persevere until their goals are met, even if it means fighting dirty or breaking the law to do so.
It's common for warthogs to be self-employed. With their self-discipline & strength of character, they are formidable business adversaries.
Warthogs in the Wild
The warthog is an odd quadruped. It has a flat, almost concave head ornamented with four large warts, two razor-sharp curling tusks, and a thick, sinewy neck.
Warthogs are principally grazers but have been known to take carcasses abandoned by other carnivores or an animal that has died from natural causes. Its neck is too short for easy feeding on the sparse grass of the African plains, and it is often seen on its knees, gazing & rooting along the dusty veldt.
Warthogs are virtually fearless & have been observed turning the tails on pursuing leopards or elephants. Sows with young are particularly bold & do not hesitate to make physical contact with marauding predators.

Love & Friendship
(accurate)
The warthog's relentless manipulation tends to scare off potential partners. If it wants a good run for its money and is willing to take a chance, interesting things will happen when it gets together with a baboon or a bison. These animals stabilize the warthog and enduring relationships are not uncommon.

It’s not for everyone.
2018 was one of the best and worst years of my life.
As I started off the 2017/18 season in Slovakia Eurocup, everything was going great. Traveling to a new country every other week for games, a competitive schedule, cool teammates, weekend road trip adventures. Life was good. As matter of fact, life was great. I was enjoying the peaceful, simple life that Slovakia offered.
In Slovakia, part of the visa application process includes gathering individual criminal record checks of everywhere you have lived in the past 4 years (before your mind starts wandering, the answer is no...continue reading🙃). In my case, this included Canada, United States, Greece, and Poland. After you’ve obtained all of your records, you have a 3 month validation window to apply for a visa. Prior to leaving home for Slovakia and after a lot of paperwork, I was able to secure 3 out of the 4 records- all that was left was Greece. Fast forward to mid November and mid season, my Greek papers finally arrived in Slovakia. “Finally, now my visa can be issued,” I thought. Not quite. Because it had been over 3 months, my three previous records had “expired” and were no longer valid. We had to restart the whole application process from scratch. Cross country road trips to Poland, early embassy visits in Bratislava, a scramble of paperwork and phone calls. As luck would have it, we also had an even more pressing issue on our hands. The maximum length of a short-term stay in the Slovak Republic cannot exceed a total of 180 days... we were nearing 150. Time was against my side and my papers were put on a rush. All I could do was wait.
After I returned from Christmas holidays in Florida & Greece, everything changed. My reentry to Slovakia without a visa delivered another set of problems and my struggles increased. After I finally finessed my my way back into the country *see previous post🙃, I was relieved to finally make it back to Ruzomberok. I was even more relieved to hear that all of my documents had arrived and were being processed. Although I was just over 180 days, I was sure there would be some way around it considering the circumstances of my situation. Well, less than a week later my naivety slapped me in my in face.... my application was denied.
I was devastated. I loved my team and I didn’t want to leave. My team and I exhausted all options in attempts of an appeal. Even with the help of the club’s lawyers and president, the law enforcement would not budge. I couldn’t believe it; I had never heard of anything like this before. After our appeal was rejected, I was faced with a choice. I could stay to finish out the season without a visa, crossing my fingers I wouldn’t be deported, or I could leave- two unfortunate and unfavourable options for both sides. My team staff and I carefully discussed my situation and the choice was left up to me. At the same time, I learned about a former American player that was (literally) deported a few years back for a similar situation. After hearing this, I knew that I couldn’t stay. Not only would I be playing with fire, but I would be jeopardizing my career. The risk did not outweigh the reward and I made the decision to leave Slovakia. Less than two weeks later, I found myself back in Greece playing for a new team to finish out the season with in Thessaloniki. Unfortunately, when it rains it pours and my bad luck continued to follow. Underwhelming living conditions, a losing record, and some other issues left me feeling emotionally drained. After playing for a few months, financial issues within the team forced my coach and I to resign the last month of the season. And with that... my third season overseas officially came to an end.
Although last year was one of the toughest I’ve faced, ironically enough, it was also one of the best years of my life. Even though a lot of things didn’t go in my favour last year, a lot of things did.
In 9 months, I travelled to over 10 different European countries- Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Turkey, Russia, Greece, France, and Italy. I met some amazing new teammates, reunited with old teammates, and made some unforgettable memories. Post season, I hosted a boys and girls basketball camp in Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy; a beautiful fishing town minutes away from Portofino and Cinque Terre. My best friend and I lituated our way through Athens, the Greek Islands, and Italy... leaving no carbs behind (pics below). The summer continued on a high note, bouncing between home and Portland to train and spend time with friends and family. I also spent some time in California- from up in the bay down to LA- and had the opportunity to coach at Klay Thompson’s basketball camp in Orange County. Although a lot of things might have gone wrong in 2018, a lot of things went right.
After a tumultuous season and the ups and downs that followed, I needed stability going into the 2018-19 season. When my former team from Athens reached out, I felt as though I was given a sign. After playing for Dafni my second year overseas, I had one of my most successful seasons professionally. I loved my team, I loved the city, I loved gyros and gyros loved me back. During the past four years overseas, Athens has made itself my home away from home. Once again, Greece found its way to mark itself as the next chapter in my book.
I’ve been back in Athens since September now and I couldn’t be more content. Our season is off to a solid start, currently sitting 4th in league and undefeated in the Greek Cup. Playing a tight knit rotation, we have a strong chemistry on/off the floor and if we stick to the script, this year could be something special. I’m joined by two younger Americans (I’m a vet now!?), and we share an apartment and team car together. This season, I am living in Piraeus, a beautiful seaside neighborhood near the port of Athens. South of the city center, Pireas is full of v cute cafes/bars/restaurants nestled along the sea. After living in the congestion of the center my previous year, the tranquil seaside lifestyle is definitely more my vibe. When the weather is right, there’s a very good chance you will find me down near the sea (only a 5 min walk from our apt), grabbing a coffee, laying out, or just relaxing/recharging between practices. I’ve been fully taking advantage of our new location, so much so I even asserted myself into the senior citizen swimming group a few mornings lol. Off the court, life is pretty hard to beat in Athens. Good weather, good people, good food; there’s not much more I can ask for.
After everything 2018 threw at me, I am grateful for it all; the good, the bad, and the ugly. I grew as a player and a person, learned many lessons, and came out of it all as a stronger individual. Even though life hit me hard, I got back up. The highs, the lows, and the in betweens are all part of what make us human and they are all part of our journey through life. My personal experience overseas has been a whirlwind of ups and downs; delivering some of the very best times of my life and also some of the hardest times of my life. As cliche as it may sound, I truly believe everything happens for a reason and a silver lining can be found in every situation if you look hard enough. The past four years have tested me more than I could imagine, and I’m thankful for them all.
I did not share my story for sympathy, I did not tell my story for attention; I told my story because life is not always easy. In a society oversaturated by perfectionism, we forget that there is power in vulnerability. When you look on Instagram, it’s easy to think professional overseas athletes are “living the dream,” a phrase we hear all too often. The truth is, yes, there are many highs, but there can also be many lows. These lows may not be making the superficial IG “highlight real” but that doesn’t mean that they are not happening. Nobody’s life is perfect no matter how social media makes it look. It’s easy to compare behind rose-colored glasses, but in reality- there is another side of “the dream” that people do not see. Two-a-days, language barriers, 10 hour bus rides, underwhelming living conditions, injuries, team financial drama, all day Netflix marathons. Nobody sees the struggles we go through off the the court; the isolation, the boredom, the loneliness. The reality is, playing overseas is not for the weak or faint hearted; I’ve seen overseas life break even the strongest people- it’s not for everyone. That’s exactly why I’m compelled to share the raw moments, the unfiltered moments, the good the bad and the ugly- without the airbrush.
With that..... 2018 has officially come to a close. A year full of many struggles and many blessing, I am grateful for them all and would not change a thing. Everything has aligned itself to bring me to where I am today, and in this moment, life is good. To this crazy thing called life, thank you.... I am exactly where I’m meant to be.

Because defending the most vulnerable road users makes everyone safer, we talk to LA Walks Executive Director John Yi and Jared Sanchez, CalBike Senior Policy Advocate, about AB 1238, the Freedom to Walk Act. If made law, this would legalize mid-block crossings and crossing against traffic lights in California. THEN, Josh Cohen, a personal injury lawyer specializing in bikes, discusses the legal options for forcing DOTs and carmakers to make transportation safer.
