Do all cons in the US require I get a sales tax permit? Also can I use one permit for all states?

Kiriska: Most major conventions will require a sales tax permit. Some even require the permit just to apply to the con. Some may not, but you should always check specific cons for their requirements. I'd recommend being permitted even if the con doesn't require it.

Every state has its own sales tax system, so you need to get an individual permit for every state that has a sales tax. Yes, it's a pain, but that's the reality of doing business across state lines. (States without sales tax don't require sales tax permits, but may require other paperwork.)

I highly recommend also having regional sales tax programmed into your POS and setting a reminder to switch/update them between shows. Sales tax can vary between cities and counties, in addition to state, and you're likely going to need to report the amount for each region.

For example, I mostly just vend in Washington state these days, but I still have individual tax rates in Square for Seattle, Tacoma, Unincorporated King County, Bellevue, Lake Forest Park, Olympia, etc... When I report sales tax annually, I separate out and report the sales per region, because they all have different tax rates.

Experimental Projects

I have three experimental projects I work on every now and then on Godot, though now I am working far more on one of them. All of these are "experimental" because they are using features I haven't made or used. It doesn't necessarily mean no one else has used them though.

FALL OF SYNVARMRIYA

First is my current project: Fall of Synvarmriya. Based in the perspective of a young alien woman in an failing alien universe it is an adventure RPG created nearly entirely out of polygons and utilizing them for full on cutscenes. Also includes a font created specifically for an alien language. Plans for it also include an interesting RPG battling system inspired by UNDERTALE and SUPERHOT [Yet to be made], multi-stat based health, including the difference between cuts and beats* and energy depending on breathing and music sung with an alien language.

"MOTHERBOARD"^

Stylized as "MOTHER=BOARD" Second is a project based on the space station for the company, Lyfe in the perspective of a recently soul-bound AI. It really utilizes the viewport by having you play on multiple fronts: Top-down bullet-hell, side-scrolling Metroidvania and city-building battling strategy all in the form of a computer surveillance system. Plans include all three of these modes connecting each other: Talk to and protect Humans physically Unlock rooms and fight against virus attacks virtually Send attacks and manage fortifications and power through the map. The project has already been designed with a custom window border, "tooltip" system as well as investigation dialogue and multi-directional door teleporting.

CYBERSOULS^

Finally, there is CyberSouls which is based in the building of the company CyberComplex in the perspective of a freelance programmer. It is a horror It uses a character-based positional UI and includes following characters, multi-room maps and an attempt to make ladders. And as you might notice [maybe] is that it uses the darkness coupled with lighting and shadow. Also includes some experimentation with wall-climbing/jumping.

It might be a little dark...

So those are some of the things I'm working on. Even if I push Fall of Synvarmriya for later, there's still two other projects to work on. Nevertheless, there is much work to do for FoS. See y'all and God bless ya!

“ROMANTIC WORLDS” is the latest single from @janeweavermusic’s forthcoming LP titled ‘Love In Constant Spectacle’ (4/5 @fire_records) & it finds the Liverpool-based artist “abusing, evading & obliterating” her way across a 3:52 clip of whimsically awash & retro-tinged PsychPop.

the three biggest struggles you’ve overcome?

I suffered a double stroke that put me in coma, but with my hard work and help from physiotherapists, I can walk again like nothing happened at all. Just my hand is still partially paralysed and it will stay like that forever. This is just one, but definitely has a big impact on my life. I became disabled within seconds.

four talents you’re proud of having?

Photography, scientific mind (good at physics the most), good ear for music, and I can't think of anything else.

No idea. Never thought of it.

I don't know, I'm not much an anime person.

Yeah. Three scars from brain surgery (I have metal plates in my head), one on my forehead from hitting the table when I was one year old, two small scars from knee surgery when I was 19.

Tulips all the way. I love irises, too. Also hyacinths (that scent!).

I got a cros and a little train car with the old name of my company on it. I have them attached to my work keys.
