Ramona Byers

Mona is a more minor character, but I’ve put a lot of thought into her outfits! Her current official ref has her in a tank top and shorts, which doesn’t encapsulate her vibes so well, so I’ve done some sketches of outfits she wears throughout the few chapters focused on her!

Evidently the main influence shown here is T-ARA, but she was inspired by music from the singer Reol, which is why she has a Yuureizumi/Phanto(me) outfit. That’s actually what she wears in her first appearance, and she spends most of her time in outfits inspired by Yuureizumi and Gekihaku!

The T-ARA outfits represent being true to herself and focusing less on other people. Due to their nature as outfits inspired by looks picked for pop idols, they might make her look more artificial, but they are her being genuinely her! That’s because her true self is someone who cares enough to put in the effort on a cute look, rather than worrying about other things.

Mona is also a good example of LSD: Sister Story’s system of magic based “quirks,” where some people are born with an affinity for one out of four major magicks to an extent where it presents itself outwardly. As someone born with excess light magic, Mona has a natural internal glow stick type of luminescence that effects her eyes and essentially any fluids or mucosa tissue in her body. Not all quirks are physical—Scarlett Adams’ mother has a white magic quirk that lets her intuit the emotions of those in her general vicinity—but Mona’s definitely is!

Harley is tripping balls on Ivys lamia spores. She just wants to see the world the way Ivy does.

I call it Harleyspace, the hyperspace of Harley's mind. What if we could all tap into our own Harleyspace? Where everyday worries are taken in stride with breakfast sandwiches - a dash of hot sauce, spicy mongolian beef - extra chilis, a dash of madness, and a baseball bat. Maybe a mallot and an exploding pie.

This panel makes me think of Taylor Swift's "Snow on the Beach":

Reminds me of the first time I took acid. The world really does glow and dance.

Speaking of hallucinogens, "Was it the Acid?" by Direct Hit! takes us down another mind warp:

we were tossed in the frost

and attacked emotion caught in throat

weighed down by bricks made of gold

which we sold and removed with powers

we could not quite understand

I just love how Ivy is just admiring Harley as she's tripping.

VA stuff!

So a friend of mine I met through ENA introduced me to these LSD Dream Emulator OC’s and their designs are all super cool.

But honestly…my favorite is RuxaBluce. She is the silliest one to me and her eyes are just blank with a vacant smile. Silly mouse girl. And I remember while I was searching for any form of lore for their world or stuff and finding an old vid from the creator of these OCs with songs that sound like the characters.

But Ruxabluce was never in there….so I decided to get creative. And make a fam voice claim for her myself! Please don’t be weird about my voice; it’s just how I think Rux sounds
