Digital Community and Fandom: A Reality TV Case Study
Digital communities and fandoms have been greatly influenced by reality television, resulting in a complex network of engagement that goes beyond ordinary viewership. Since the introduction of Web 2.0 technologies, viewers have evolved from being passive observers to active participants in show conversations, offering commentary on participants and conjecturing about the veracity of what they see. This discussion transcends private areas and reaches forums, blogs, and social media, where sites like Instagram and Twitter have developed into active hubs for fan interaction.
Particularly during reality shows, Twitter has become the preferred tool for live tweeting. Tweets' instantaneous nature makes for an improved viewing experience since viewers can express their opinions in real time. Hashtags that are used during broadcasts and host invitations to join conversations are what drive this connection. The website fosters a humorous community in addition to encouraging viewers to remark on episodes. Social media conversations are dominated by memes, puns, and GIFs, which let fans perform for likes and shares. Numerous humorous fan accounts are devoted to shows like Drag Race and Love Island, and viewers and cast members frequently join in on the fun by sharing jokes and memes.
Humor and self-referentiality are crucial components of the reality TV experience, allowing spectators to critique shows while developing a sense of community. But it's important to remember that these online debates are about actual individuals, whose lives may be damaged by the remarks made about them. Long after its initial broadcast, viewers may revisit their old favorites and carry on the discourse thanks to the growing popularity of these shows on streaming services.
Moreover, the rise of microcelebrity has revolutionized how people exploit social media. Reality TV competitors frequently communicate directly with their fans by avoiding traditional media channels and using social media sites like Twitter. The distinction between private and public life is becoming more hazy as a result of this change, providing views into previously forbidden "backstage" moments. Celebrities have the ability to show a more genuine side of themselves, but this entails balancing their subjective interpretations of their experiences with the factual depictions of events that are recorded on camera.
Reality TV will probably become more and more influential in online communities as it develops. Technology, comedy, and audience participation come together to create a dynamic environment that supports reality shows and their fan bases, illuminating the intricate relationship between digital culture and entertainment. In the end, this case study highlights how reality TV shapes online interactions, community building, and the dynamic nature of stardom in the digital world.

5 Strategies to Ace Your IPM Online Preparation
IPM (Integrated Program in Management) is a prestigious and highly competitive entrance exam for admission into the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). With the rise in the popularity of online education, many students are opting for IPM Online Preparation courses to ace this exam. However, preparing for an exam like IPM online can be challenging, and it requires a strategic approach. In this blog post, we will discuss five strategies that can help you ace your IPM Online Preparation.
1) Familiarize yourself with the Exam Pattern: The first step towards acing any exam is to understand its pattern and syllabus. The IPM exam consists of three sections - Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability (VA), and Logical Reasoning (LR). Each section has a different weightage, and it is essential to know the number of questions and marks allotted to each section. Familiarizing yourself with the exam pattern will help you plan your preparation accordingly.

Basic Understanding of XBEE Protocol
XBEE Protocol
Hi everyone! In this blog post, I’m going to share with you some basics of XBEE protocol, a wireless communication standard that is widely used in IoT applications. XBEE protocol is based on IEEE 802.15.4 standard, which defines the physical and MAC layers of low-rate wireless personal area networks (LR-WPANs). XBEE protocol enables devices to communicate with each other over a range of up to 100 meters, using low-power radio signals. XBEE protocol also supports mesh networking, which means that devices can relay messages through other devices to extend the network coverage. XBEE protocol is ideal for applications that require reliable and secure data transmission, such as remote sensing, home automation, smart metering, and more. In this blog post, I will explain how XBEE protocol works, what are its advantages and disadvantages, and how you can use it in your own projects. Let’s get started!
If you are interested to understand more about the XBEE Protocol, then you can go through the PiEmbSysTech XBEE Protocol Tutorial Blog. If you have any questions or query, that you need to get answer or you have any idea to share it with the community, you can use Piest Forum.

Palatine Hill by Tony Via Flickr: The Palatine Hill is the centre most of the Seven Hills of Rome and is one of the most ancient parts of the city. It stands 40 metres above the Roman Forum, looking down upon it on one side, and upon the Circus Maximus on the other. From the time of Augustus Imperial palaces were built here.

[what happened to toppdyke? what happened to OG rfg mod?] Oh my god, the toppdyke drama is so juicy. Girlsfrommars was the one who originally posted it, so go through her archive to find the call-out post (it was in either April or May of 2020). But I will summarise. Somebody found an inactive account on shybi, a forum for bisexuals, with the username "toppdyke". I know what you're thinking, "but toppdyke isn't a bisexual! This is just someone who coincidentally had the same url as her!" Well, the toppdyke shybi had a truly amazing number of coincidences as the tumblr toppdyke. As well as having the same name, according to posts on the toppdyke shybi account, shybi toppdyke was also the same age, from the same area, lived in the same state, and was formerly a stripper, just like the tumblr toppdyke. And not only that, but shybi toppdyke and tumblr toppdyke both typed in the same very distinctive way (if you are familiar with toppdyke, you will understand what I mean). These accounts had to be run by the same person. There are simply far too many similarities. How many people as unique as toppdyke exist? Now, the tumblr toppdyke was a lesbian, but the shybi toppdyke, despite having the word "dyke" in her url, was not a lesbian. Some of her posts talked about her attraction to well-built men. She talked about liking "toned men in speedos", and having a kink for "bitch boys". As well as an array of other bizarre kinks, such as "pain sluts" and "virginity collecting".
After radblr became aware of the existence of the toppdyke shybi account, although some people sided with TD and believed she is genuinely a lesbian who was just going through a period of bicuriousity, most bloggers concluded that she was a self-hating bisexual, and that all that yelling she used to do about "bihets" and "handmaidens" was projection. A few weeks later, toppdyke's account was allegedly terminated by staff (although a part of me wonders if she deleted it herself to avoid the embarrassment of everyone knowing about her shybi account and fake lesbianism). Either way TD never return to tumblr, at least not publicly (rumor has it that TD made a new blog with a different username and that she's trying to stay on the down low and not get involved with radblr, although I can't verify if this is true or just hearsay).
Note that this is not the first TD bisexual drama. On this very blog a few years ago, someone exposed her for admitting she liked having sex with women in front of her male friends (the user who posted the screenshots of their messages deactivated, so the evidence is unfortunately either gone or difficult to find, but surely some old timers like myself will remember this incident?) Anyway, td;lr: someone found TD's shybi account, she was exposed as being bisexual, left tumblr and didn't come back.

fyi if anyone besides me IS trying out the Listening Reading Method - I have some tips you can read if you want (or feel free to ignore):
you should see significant progress within 30 hours. If you started as an absolute beginner, did what the guide suggests beforehand (learned some common words like a few hundred, looked at a pronunciation guide, looked at a basic grammar summary), then you should see SOME progress. If after 30 hours you don’t see any - you might be doing it wrong (or its not a method that works for you in which case don’t feel u need to waste ur time on it when other stuff might help you more). (http://users.bestweb.net/~siom/martian_mountain/!%20L-R%20the%20most%20important%20passages.htm)
Someone did L R Method as an absolute beginner in Italian (they already knew french, english). They took tests - were A1 when they started L R Method. They did about 30 hours of L R Method. They took a test again and scored B1. So 30 hours should see SIGNIFICANT progress for a language reasonably close to yours, and SOME clear progress I’d imagine even if it’s a less common language (even some gains from absolute beginner to A1-A2 would be solid and noticeable). (https://forum.language-learners.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1721&p=99415#p99415)
Someone tried to L R Method mandarin as a proof of concept. So they only did several hours, and used The Little Prince (which is much simpler writing/language than the L R Method article recommends using). This is their results: “I tried Mandarin LR as a proof of concept a while ago. I used "The Little Prince", and did a few hours. The first couple of hours were exhausting and I was usually lost; by the end, I was associating quite a few characters with their sounds, occasionally understanding sentences in real time as I read along (knowing what parts corresponded) of up to 7 characters or so, etc. Again, this was a small handful of hours, as an effectively zero-beginner; I know some Kanji, but my active Mandarin vocabulary was probably in the single digits... I think this was after I'd studied tones/Mandarin phonology relatively intensively, but I don't recall for certain.” So - within a handful of hours, someone saw language improvement in Mandarin as a total beginner (http://how-to-learn-any-language.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=38593)
I personally have been trying L R Method as a beginner-intermediate ish learner. What I noticed: without a parallel text (so just using english text for step 3) I improved listening comprehension of words I already partly knew (through reading) FIRST. I also picked up some new words, but listening comprehension of words I knew improved most noticeably the first 10ish hours I did L R Method. Using Pleco’s dictation tool for step 3 (so instead of english text, I use chinese text where the english definition auto-pops up as the audio reads each word), or using a parallel text (so chinese and english visible at same time), both VASTLY improved how many new words I pick up per session. For me at least, seeing the chinese text to keep my place in the audio, and seeing easier what audio matches to what english definition, lets me learn new words faster. Since I waste much less effort trying to just keep the text/audio matched up.
So if the effort of matching up text is draining to you (like it is to me), I recommend: getting an audiobook and chinese text that match as closely as possible. And getting either a parallel text, or using Pleco’s dictation tool in the Reader, or something similar (Pleco’s dictation tool is a lot like using a word by word chinese/english translated text).
Step 2 seems very useful for: giving you context prior to step 3, practicing reading comprehension and reading speed, listening practice with the chinese(target language) spelling visible, and reinforcing what’s learned in prior step 3′s.
Step 3 does seem useful the more you repeat it (I’m just lazy).
Test yourself by trying to LISTEN ONLY every once in a while. You should be noticing some improvements in your listening comprehension - the audiobook chapters you should follow more parts, a show without subtitles you might recognize more dialogue, etc. If your listening comprehension itself is not improving to some noticeable degree after 10+ hours of L R Method you may either be doing L R Method wrong, or its just not useful for you.
To see considerable progress in language abilities, it may take 50-100 hours. Or even 100-300. The article linked above, the person who does L R Method (aYa) would usually do at least 30 hours, then 50-100 for a language - eventually also doing step 4 shadowing, step 5 translating back and forth. For less-closely related languages, people mention having done it for a few hundred hours. So do NOT expect total beginner to Fluent in 30 hours. I simply mean, you should expect noticeable progress after some X milestones. After a dozen or so hours you should be able to start recognizing word boundaries with ease, some short phrases. If you’re not a total-beginner, but beginner-intermediate like me, then you should start notice much BETTER listening comprehension of words you already half-knew from reading within a few dozen hours. Then after 30-50, maybe some dialogue understanding, some common words regularly understood, etc. Again - test yourself with Listening-Only every once in a while to see if you’re actually making any progress. Also to see if you wanna ‘alter’ the L R Method to suit your needs better. Maybe you’ll find a way to do it that works better for you.
For ABSOLUTE beginners, especially in languages very different from their own, at the beginning stages simply using sentences with audio may be easier. To perhaps learn a few hundred to thousand common words first - and/or using translations that are word BY word translation right under the target language word. To help with getting used to the grammar, all the new common words, the sounds etc. So materials like Assimil probably do this - Spoonfed Chinese anki deck with its audio/text does this, Nukemarine’s LLJ audio/text deck does this, Japanese Core 2k with its audio/text does this, etc. Clozemaster app might even be a nice beginner transition tool...
For the L R Method steps - really READ them and understand what they mean. Step 3 is NOT watching a target language audio movie with english subs. It is trying to comprehend all of the audio, glancing at the translation JUST to fill in the gaps for parts you can’t manage to comprehend (so for looking up words here and there). While you’re supposed to ‘follow along’ with the translation text, you do NOT tune out the audio. The audio should be your main focus, keeping in line with the translation text is so you can REFERENCE it when you hear a word/phrase/sentence you don’t fully comprehend. And I am guessing step 3 is suggested to be done multiple times so that each time you need the translation less.
L R Method works best with very vocabulary rich, long texts. If you use a simple text, or a short one (3 hours of audio for example), there’s only so much you’ll be able to learn from it. For example The Little Prince only has a vocabulary of 2000-3000 unique words, 1200ish hanzi in it - so even if you learned it entirely, repeating it over and over, that’s not a lot of info. Particularly if you don’t plan to repeat things, it’s probably going to serve your time better to pick rich vocabulary long texts (so you can pick up tons of words just through one pass through the book, and if you choose to repeat the book, pick up tons more words, before you start running into the rarely used words which will be harder to pick up).
I am mentioning all this, because I saw someone who did L R method for mandarin for hundreds of hours, and does not have natural listening yet - so cannot follow a new audiobook listening-only, cannot follow a show listening-only. Considering that people have demonstrated they made some progress in 5-10 hours for Mandarin, and 30 hours for Italian, then 300 hours in Mandarin might be able to make more progress. I’ve done maybe 20-30 hours of L R Method so far, and already find I can now listen to at Least the audiobook of the book I’m L R Method-ing now without the text, and follow the main scenes fine. With simpler audio, if I have a visual cue (like acting scenes, or pictures) I find I can follow the main idea much easier than I could before. So I just think... if you are seeing very little noticeable progress after 30-50 hours, the method may not be giving you benefits as quickly as you might want a study method to show improvements. I think if something isn’t giving you some improvement after X effort, you don’t need to stick with it if something else helps you more.
Other factors that may affect this:
I had some reading basis before I started L R Method. This might have helped me as far as how fast a rate L R Method is helping my progress. For an example: when I simply do step 2 ON ITS OWN I see improvements - because it helps me read through a chapter as fast as the audio, matches audio to the spelling I might already know, and I already can understand enough when reading at that speed to follow the general plot (so step 2 gives me context and increased plot understanding). Therefore, when I do step 3, I can really primarily put my attention on learning to recognize the SOUND of what I already understood - and on learning a few new keywords I already JUST saw and realized I didn’t know. Basically I can use L R Method to quickly pinpoint areas I’m weaker in, while practicing what I can already do. A total beginner won’t have the ‘practice what they already know’ benefit. (Genuinely though step 2 is helping my reading SO much and I know that’s in part due to my current reading comprehension level).
Also I have seen an example of someone who did L R Method while already B2 in Italian - he was aiming for C1. He noticed less drastic improvement after 40 hours - he did still notice some, like easier listening comprehension for shows and conversations. But he did not reach C1 listening/reading skills. So from this we see: L R Method might help you improve faster if you start off with more you still need to learn (which makes sense, since as the words you need to learn get rarer you will run into them less frequently in L R Method). Also, the gap from B2-C1 may be bigger than the gap from A1-B1? Also what I took from his example, is repeating step 3 multiple times becomes MORE important as you’re more intermediate-advanced. I would guess because you probably have less frequently occurring words/grammar to learn, so repeating content WITH those things in it is a way to get more exposure (whereas just going over it once then moving on is Not going to expose you to it much). Also step 3, if you really look away from the transcript for most of it, allows you to really practice listening comprehension. Also shadowing/translating, steps 4 and 5, may be of more benefit to an intermediate-advanced learner. Since shadowing may be doable for them now, and translation may be doable (and hone in on skills more). So... I would guess either the gap you have to bridge as an intermediate-advanced learner is bigger, and/or you just need to do more challenging aspects of L R Method to get similar frequency of benefits you would’ve saw at the beginning stages.
#l r method#listening reading method#rant#............................................................................................#basically just... its fun? i love it? its working great for me?#but if i had to wait 100 hours to see even a little improvement id think i was doing it wrong#or that it didnt help me#and if u try it. i think testing ur progress every 10-30 hours is a good#gauge to see if its helping you in any noticeable way

@crestazul sent: 7 + 12 for the mun meme !
7. Who was the very first muse you ever wrote?
oh gosh okay so. i’m going with the addition of “on tumblr” because i cannot remember specifics further back than that, and making it even more specific by counting this as, like, canon characters i wrote for rp purposes and not made-up characters for a group rpg. and i want to say it was either madge or marlene! i might even have been writing them at the same time, which may be why i can’t remember who actually came first.
12. Have you roleplayed anywhere other than tumblr?
i have! i lied about my age way back when i was baby like? idk 11/12 year old and said i was 13 so i could get into the ne.opets forums, which is where i actually discovered roleplaying. and then i moved on to ter.ipets at some point, and then i moved to tumblr! i’ve also been known to write on disco.rd on occasion, but tbh it’s not my favorite medium for rp writing - - i’ll usually only do it if someone i like writing with can’t be on / isn’t feeling tumb,lr at the time

Basic Understanding of PowerPC Processor
PowerPC Processor
Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I’m going to talk about one of my favorite topics: the PowerPC processor. If you are a fan of retro computing or just curious about how computers work, you might find this interesting.
The PowerPC processoris a type of microprocessor that was developed by IBM, Apple and Motorola in the early 1990s. It was based on the RISC (reduced instruction set computing) architecture, which means that it used simpler and faster instructions than the more common CISC (complex instruction set computing) processors. The PowerPC processor was designed to be compatible with multiple operating systems, such as Mac OS, Windows NT and Linux.
One of the main features of the PowerPC processor is that it uses a big-endian byte order, which means that the most significant byte of a multi-byte value is stored at the lowest memory address. This is different from the little-endian byte order used by most other processors, such as Intel’s x86. For example, the hexadecimal number 0x12345678 would be stored as 12 34 56 78 in big-endian and 78 56 34 12 in little-endian.
Another feature of the PowerPC processor is that it has a large number of registers, which are small and fast memory locations that can store data and instructions. The PowerPC processor has 32 general-purpose registers (GPRs) that can hold any type of data, and 32 floating-point registers (FPRs) that can hold decimal numbers. It also has a condition register (CR) that can store the results of comparisons and logical operations, and a link register (LR) that can store the address of the next instruction to execute after a subroutine call.
The PowerPC processor was widely used in many devices and systems, such as Apple’s Macintosh computers, IBM’s servers and supercomputers, Nintendo’s GameCube and Wii consoles, and Sony’s PlayStation 3 console. However, it was gradually replaced by other processors, such as Intel’s x86 and ARM’s Cortex. The last Macintosh computer to use a PowerPC processor was the Power Mac G5 in 2006.
If you are interested to understand more about the PowerPC processor, then you can go through the PiEmbSysTech PowerPC processor Tutorial Blog. If you have any questions or query, that you need to get answer or you have any idea to share it with the community, you can use Piest Forum.
The PowerPC processor is still alive and kicking in some niche markets, such as embedded systems and aerospace applications. It is also a popular choice for hobbyists and enthusiasts who want to learn more about computer architecture and assembly language programming. If you are one of them, I hope you enjoyed this brief introduction to the PowerPC processor. Stay tuned for more posts on this fascinating topic!

i’m going to be taking the lsat in two years and i was wondering if you have any study tips? i’m going to be starting prep in january but i don’t think that’ll be enough :( i love your studyblr btw
Hey there anon! (aww tank you *blushes*)
I don’t know if I’m qualified to be answering this now as I haven’t taken the test yet and don’t know my score (but I did take the test once last June and got in the 97th percentile, so hopefully I sort of know what I’m talking about). I’ll do a more in-depth post if I get my score back and turns out my studying method actually worked.
Here’s some tips in the meantime ~
Two years is more than enough. Be calm! The brain is like a muscle and if you don’t use it constantly that reasoning part you’ve worked so hard to develop might go away. So studying too far ahead of time is not that helpful. For last year’s test I studied twice a week for three months and then studied 15 hours a day for a week. Not a good idea. You need consistency. This time around, I’m studying every day by doing at least something(timed section, review incorrect answers, etc.). I work full-time so can’t be studying much more than that on the weekdays. On the weekends I take a practice test in the morning, do a blind review, then review incorrect questions.
Be careful of burnout. Last year I took 3 practice tests a day for a full week before the exam. WOW. I hate past me. Granted my practice test scores did go up (by 7 points over the week omg), but I didn’t perform that well on the actual test because my brain was tired… Give yourself space between practice tests to recover.
Don’t be afraid of practice tests. Some people are really afraid of taking practice tests because seeing that score is just terrifying. It’s just a score. The point of practicing is to improve so of course your scores aren’t going to be pretty until later in the game. It helps so much with building stamina which you really need for the LSAT - 35 minutes x 5 of pure focus??? You can’t just come up with that mental endurance out of nowhere.
Blind review. Honestly 7sage’s article here spells it out really clearly. I didn’t do this last year and really wish I did. Even though my recent practice test scores haven’t been going up (and have been going down…), my BR score has consistently improved, which shows me that I’m actually improving and just need to work on thinking clearly under pressure.
Online resources. Get a 7sage account. You can grade your tests (with BR) and track which types of questions you need the most help with. They also have video explanations for all logic games that are super helpful and clear. Use Manhattan Prep and Powerscore forums to understand the reasoning behind questions you get wrong.
Make a wrong answer book. I cut out the LR questions I get wrong and paste them into a notebook with the reasoning behind it in a different color pen. It makes it so much easier for me to go through and see what I struggle with and be reminded of the typical kinds of reasoning/LSAT language that messes me up.
General note about studying. Try not to get upset if your practice scores aren’t constantly on an upward trend. The LSAT is designed to get you. Not every test has an equal amount of questions that happen to be in your weak area. Sometimes you have an off-day. Some series of tests are just trickier than others. So many reasons. Just keep going and try to master as many types of questions as possible. You can do it!!
Wow now that I’ve gotten started I feel like I could say a lot more, but again - who knows if my tips should carry any weight whatsoever. If I do well in October (T-24 days *screaming*) I’ll make a slightly more organized/insightful post. I hope these random tips help!! Good luck my friend! Reach out whenever for support ~ The LSAT sucks and I’m here for you.

so idk if im crazy or don’t care but im like indifferent at the new spoilers/rumor.
it’s like the same as before we learned of the new spoiler/rumor (which we will know way more on Monday or later...accurately... It’s based on the screeners. The rumor is Carol kaboom the cave and Cnnie and Magna are stuck in it and are alive. That’s all I know so far.)
It’s still Cnnie tribute reel📽🎬 vs pants👖 theory(ep 14). But this time we don’t know when the tribute reel happens. It’s not on ep 9 then. Zone believes it’s there, so it’s either later on or the reel is not a tribute but a random video.
And I’m like eh I’m not that worried of it. Like if I was big Cnnie fan then yeah but ...no. It’s just fandomwise- I might look like a clown eating crows...that’s why I said “vs.” Seems like a forum-game. sigh. Oh well...all the shippers are against each other already.
Idk I just wanna know what it is going on. What’s gonna happen. I don’t want biased stuff. It’s like I wanna help fans to point out what is the truth for s10 and Cnnie. (read other *twd posts.) Fandom is more knowledgeable about LR’s schedule than any cast member in 10B. But fandom is fandom. No one trust each other and have grudges against the other shippers. So....I guess ..just find out wherever and whenever u wanna find at. So far it seems like Cnnie and Magna fans have to wait again by first seeing/waiting like three cliffhangers.
And about the Carol stuff. I’m not that worried ...it depends how writers will do it and how the season ends.
ETA. It’s weird how I find out about this lil ep 9 spoiler on Thurs and by now it all doesn’t seem that bad to me. If that spoiler of Daryl getting upset with Carol and turns away from her, it could lead to Carol’s breaking point(in the midseason). Carol’s breaking point is that she can’t lose Daryl and wants to change, and that sounds super shippy. But, Idk how ep 9 or 10B will go and I need context first.
Also what bugs me a bit is that there’s so much cheering them living and hating on Carol, that I only saw a few fans worried about C0nnie and Magna’s fate from ep 9 cliffhanger. Like hello their fates are still unknown. It’s like they don’t really care about C0nnie and care about trashing CaroI and CaryIers. ..But someone saying some believe the pants theory..so ok ...they expect to see them/C0nnie in ep 14. 🤷♀️
Ugh we don’t have good spoilers. No one knows what’s up. 🤪 I don’t even understand why we have ep 9 cliffhanger while LR filmed up to ep 9. Like How???
