hi jenna gif questions for u 💜 what's your favorite part of making gifs? what's the most valuable thing/tip/trick you've learned? what's some of your favorite gif sets you've made?

hi ida!!!! sorry i took a couple days to answer this i wanted to wait until i had some time to think about it before i answer! i loooove these questions tho so thank you so much for sending them 💜💜

my favorite part about making gifs is probably coloring and like...that moment when i get the gif to look exactly how i want it to. i like to play around with coloring and try a lot of different things with it and that can be so fun! i think over the last like 6-8 months my coloring has really improved a lot and i've been having a lot of fun learning new ways to do things! but i actually had a really hard time coming up with an answer for this question because i mostly enjoy the entire process! the only part that i don't really enjoy is picking out the frames for each gif. i always start with way too many and then i have to cut stuff out and i hate that part. also it's reaaally hard sometimes to not end up with like 20 gifs cause there's so much i want to include!!!

okay im gonna cheat on this one and give a few things i've learned since i started that have been sooooo valuable to me. first is the importance of having a good quality download to start with. i think my gifs got significantly better when i finally downloaded all of the episodes in 1080p instead of using the screen recording on netflix like i had been before. second sharpening is so important! i did not do any sharpening on my first gifs i made! sharpening makes the gifs loook sooo sharp and crisp and pretty. third and kind of similar to sharpening was learning/figuring out how to use the camera raw filter. there's sooooo much you can do with camera raw filter (coloring sharpening lightening). and finally one thing i learned that i think made my coloring look significantly better was to try not to lighten the gif too much and/or to figure out ways to lighten darker gifs without it messing up the background too much (sometimes when they're lightened too much it will like pixelate the background and it looks awful)

and finally (in order of when they were made from oldest to newest) here are links to some of my favorite gifsets:

Bloody Dean Throughout the Seasons Set - this one actually came out really good considering the fact that it was made only a month after i first started making gifs! if i remember correctly it's the first set that i ever used sharpening on.

6x20 F+TM King Set - this one is a favorite mostly just because i love the song so much and tmwwbk is one of my favorite episodes. i think some of my favorite sets to make are the ones that i add lyrics to.

2022 Nov 5th Set - i was really happy with how this one came out! it's so hard to get gifs from episodes over different seasons to look the same! and this one had gifs from 12 different seasons! also i think this was the first set i ever made that got over 1000 notes which i remember being really excited about!

Laughing Dean Set - this one is a favorite purely based on the content of the set. it feels like injecting serotonin every time i look at it<3

1x12 Faith Set - another one based on the content of the set. i just love this episode so much.

Season 9 Dean Set - i LOVE the coloring in this set! and season 9 dean is so beloved to me. he is just so beautiful and bloody and sad.

2023 Cas Day Set - another f+tm lyric set! i love the space overlay that i added and the blue-pink of the coloring so much!

4x18 Destiel Every Episode Set - i loooove this scene so much! this gif series has by far been more popular than any of the other gifs that i post and this set is definitely the most popular in the series. no other set has ever even come close to getting 4k notes like this one did. also i really like the purple coloring a lot<3

Heyyy! I have been following your account for a while and I LOVE to hear your analysis, they have such a nice balance of objectivity and going gaga xD.

So, whenever you have time and if you want; to can you share your thoughts on the current gmmtv pillar couples, like their offscreen and on-screen presence/chemistry. Since, most of them are new except EM, I am trying to understand/predict how this will pan out how successful these ships will be going forward.

A few examples

FK : Onscreen: They are just so comfortable with each other, every scene, from being not liking each other but simping to what they were in OS. Offscreen: They have such soulmate/best friend vibes which feels so sincere, and despite lack of physical touches/skinship like OG, JD, or even First with other people like Tay, they have better chemistry than most ships I have seen(maybe the constant staring at each other while talking things, most interviews feel like they are talking to each other). Khaotung needs to stop looking at First not just when first is talking but also when he is talking xD

FB: Onscreen : I just don't get it, I dropped a boss and a babe so many times, because I just could not! I see no chemistry/ not even I care for you chemistry. But I feel that was maybe direction, because the 10 seconds of OF between them had so much more chemistry than the whole ABAB. Offscreen: I love their banter and they are pretty fun to watch, but again it is a lot of brotherly vibe, maybe because they loook sooo similar. I think this ship will dissolve soon, idk

EM: They seem to have similar chemistry/ characters both oncsreen and offscreen, given earth is more relaxed since he is not a troubled man like his characters . I have not seen cupid's last wish, but in both MLC and ATOTS, and real life, mix is always the sulking young guy and earth, the more mature elder guy. They are already succesful as a ship so yeah

FK: couldn't agree more. everyone who follows me knows they're my favorites and that won't change anytime soon lol. I like that they don't do fanservice or skinship stuff bc their energy around each other is more than enough to make me lose my mind lol.

FB: I like their dynamic off-screen, they're likable people, but ABAAB is so bad that I'm having a hard time separating their on- and off-screen presence lol. I hope they redeem themselves with only friends bc right now they're a lost cause for me.

EM: love them!!! I said this in my previous post but they're giving comfort couple energy lol. their characters are a bit similar sometimes but that might be due to the fact that they're a very distinct pairing. they're 2 very different types compared to the other couples so their characters often go into a similar direction which I don't mind though and would not file as typecasting. I always felt like they matched their characters very well. they've been around for a while so I don't know what their future looks like but for now they're one of my favorites for sure ✌🏻

*they say gaster in the video which is just a specific term for the abdomen of ants bees and wasps (they're family! thats why velvet ants (wingless wasps) are frequently mistaken for fuzzy ants. if you want to check for yourself a great way to discern ants from wasps is to look for a pedicel, which is a segment between the thorax and the abdomen. the pedicel is also integral to identifying individual ant species, in a lot of cases ants will have similar traits from far away but looking at the pedicel (minimal? one bump? two? spiky? etc) can be an easy way to make sure. the problem is getting them to stay still. if you're really curious get the guy in a fridge for a bit)

So like lately I was trying to figure out my relationship with social media..

And I realised that instagram is the most toxic app I have on my phone though it's also the best but ughhh

Like it's soo colorful, full of aesthetic pics and fun videos also educational one you can learn a lot throught it but still I just remembering sufferering because of it daily at first I liked looking at these people, stalking them, foloowing them living their lives in my head I would alwyas tell myself one day... But than it became toxic seeing everyone being perfect and than comparison issues started look. At that giirl she is..., than i would put more efforts to loook as perfect as they do and I became obssesd by posting pics everywhere I go so if I looked preetty I gotta post hundreds of pics and if I went out to a beautiful place I goota post instead of living the moment,because of my social akwardness I needed to constantly meet new people on social media especially ig I liked the idea of talking to cool guys and powerful ladies it made me feel like I was doing something bt my life also having thousands of followers feeling famous or Idk, than I realised these '' artificial friends'' or idk started having power over me actual power liike they would make my day with a hii and stuff and I didn't like the idea of my happiness relying on others soo like I made it private and private I mean absolutely private leaving my fav people and it become like 50 person or smth I also unfoloweed every toxic person that wouldn't help me grow than I started to talk to my friends on it at first it did feel great I was like yeahh am healing but than it became overwhelming, annoying and simply boring I didn't like the idea of perhabs only talking to my friends or not having as much hearts as I used to my egoo got hurt,coz he didn't know where to get that attention I than felt inferior to others.

But perhaps it was just that I realised the truth bt my social life I was perhabs famous and '' admired''but definitely not loved by many than I was like coool quality over quantity I only need real friends but problem is I don't really trust anyone I sometimes just feel like nahh they're fake, temporarily or even toxic I expect them to leave at anytime and i don't feel l okey when not talking to them....

Gooood am sick but looking throught all this instagram is perhaps not toxic but I AM thought I may not be toxic for others but for me I should blame meee

Anyway I really don't back to Instagram right nox nor any other platform but tumbler and pinterest coz they are good for my health unlike ig

loook LOOK.... you already KNOW how i feel about their silly little paper crane notes ... but yeah , i do SHIP them , though i was super super late on this ship . literally like , within the last few years or so late . i remember coming across dr.arry when i was growing up & i was like whaaat that's so weird , that would never work , it's always been on sight for them , etc etc .

but then i got older obviously & finally understood that draco is actually just as nuanced as harry , if not more , which in turn adds nuance to any potential friendship or relationship they could develop . they're both quite lonely at their cores , & they're both shoved into these positions in a greater game that neither of them had any say in . & obviously they have this romeo & juliet aspect to them that is really appealing . they're just so interesting & they have so many moving parts that are fun to play around with depending on the context .
