“how many gifts did you buy him, oh my god?”

zhang hao looks to his friend, eyes wide as he waits for an answer as to why there was a tower of gifts on the table for one boy.

y/n simply shrugs. “i saw a lot of cute things that reminded me of ollie, so i decided to get all of them for him” he answers, zhang hao stares like he’s crazy.

“how do you even afford this?” yujin asks, his eyebrow raised.

the l/n hums, smiling. “magic” he simply says, putting his hands behind his back. “and i also just want him to have a really good birthday”.

“you bought him an entire macy’s! n/n!”

the yell from zhang hao causes for ricky to snort, making y/n furrow his eyebrows in confusion. “where the hell did you come from?”

ricky simply shrugs. “magic”.

“oh, your making fun of me now? i see how it is, lovelicky” he crosses his arms, a feeling of fake betrayal in his heart.

ricky frowns, rolling his eyes. “how rude of you, y/n”.

zhang hao stares at the scene with judgement in his eyes. he looks to yujin, whose eating a kitkat bar. “god, they’re so stupid”.

ricky sighs. “i’m tired” he mumbles, about to leave only to be dragged back by y/n. he almost fell to the floor, holding onto his waist as a way to keep himself standing straight.

“come on, it’s ollie’s birthday, and plus, you’ve been sleeping too much these days” he replies, ignoring the glare he was receiving from ricky.

ricky blinks, still glaring at the smiling boy. “no need to glare, darling, i’m just looking out for you”.

“don’t call me that”.

says ricky as he conveniently has one of his arms around his waist.

“wow, i see how it is, you two are ignoring us now” zhang hao seethes. y/n sticks his tongue out, letting of ricky’s hand as he winks at him.

“your just gonna have to share the burden yujin, hao”.

zhang hao pouts, feeling like a third wheel.

“oh, ollie, your gifts are on the counter, it’s all for you” y/n states, pointing his finger towards the table with a tower full of gifts.

ollie gasps, his jaw basically dropping to the ground. “really!? thank you thank you, you’re the best, n/n!”

the liu jumps up, running towards the table as he stares at the insane amount of gifts. “ach! your spoiling him rotten, it’s all your fault, l/n!” gyuvin exclaims, shaking the boy crazily.

“at least ollie’s happy, right ollie?”

“yep!” he yells, putting a piece of cake in his mouth. the l/n laughs, finding the sight incredibly adorable. he ruffles the younger’s hair, completely enamored by him. “you’re so cute, baby ollie”.

“y/n seems like a parent to ollie, don’t you have a partner n/n?” yujin asks, his mouth full of even more chocolate as he waited for an answer.

y/n hums, thinking, averting his gaze towards ricky, who was at the other side of the room, talking to other guests. “i’m a single parent” he finally replies, taking a sip from the cup of coffee he had.

ollie chews again. “i want ricky to be my other parent!” the l/n chokes on the coffee, surprised by the bold words. ricky looks to ollie, hearing his name but not what the younger wanted him to hear.

“what? what did you just say?”

“why is your face so red?” ricky asks, confused by the whole situation. y/n just shakes his head, putting down the cup. “nothing! nothing ricky”.

ricky looks at him with raised eyebrows. he then just shrugs, putting his arm around the male's waist. “whatever you say..” he mumbles, y/n just sighs, copying his previous movement as he also put an arm around his waist. he glares, pretending to hate it, even though he didn’t.

“look at my parents being cute!”

ollie is apparently the #1 shipper of the two.

OUR FIRST

there were moments where you and ollie had no clue what you were doing. but when things feel right the best thing to do is to embrace it, even if you've never done it before.

PAIRING liu ollie x fem!reader WC 1.3k TAGS established relationship. mention of friends to lovers before. fluff. first date vibes. kissing. shy ollie. not proofread. OMI NOTE i had absolutely zero plan nor intention to write for ollie but i had a dream about this exact situation and felt it was too cute to let go to waste.

when you bid goodbye to ollie before he left for boys planet, there was something bittersweet about it. yet the butterflies in your stomach fluttered with no shame at the sight of him leaving. the whole situation almost felt incomplete, like a puzzle with a lost piece. 

a soft smile was plastered on his face, mouthing an ‘i’ll see you soon’ before he was out of your vision. your best friend since forever was going to take this wonderful opportunity but you could only feel nervous.

it wasn’t until some time passed and you saw him through the tv, that you realized what was missing. there were some feelings underlying your friendship with him, and part of you was scared what would happen if he debuted. would he forget you?

but ollie could never lose sight of you. every passing day you were all he could think about. ricky would often tell him that he should’ve told you sooner, which made him feel regretful. stage after stage you became his hope, and when it came to his last days before he was eliminated, he knew as long as he had you to come back to he’d be okay.

as soon as he returned home, he confessed to you through stuttered words and shy smiles. the embrace he gave you in that moment was something you’d never forget. warm, as the feeling of love swam through your veins knowing that you were finally together. knowing that this wasn’t something silly and unrequited.

he was yours, and you were his.

beyond this, dating ollie was everything you could’ve dreamed. when he wasn’t being  timid, he always did his best to give you the world. not a moment went by when you weren’t in love with one another. not a single clue what you were doing, yet it all felt right.

that being said when he messaged you about a surprise date your heart almost exploded into a million pieces. he sent you the address to his house and asked you to dress in something comfortable.

you settled yourself in the clothes you deem fit for the occasion, pressing your hands against any wrinkles to flatten them out. eventually, you were hurrying yourself out the door with a pep in your step, excited to see ollie.

there were only a couple times that you’ve been over to ollie’s home, since it was easier to hang out at yours. so saying you were absolutely pumped was an understatement. on the walk there you wondered what could be waiting for you.

as soon as you arrived, you left a gentle knock on the front door. you were only waiting for a couple seconds, before the excited boy opened to see you. he immediately embraced you in a hug.

“y/n! hi!” ollie wrapped his arms politely around your figure.

“hi, ollie!” you giggled, returning his hug. 

“come in. my family isn’t here right now, but we’re just going into my room.” he smiled at you as you slipped your shoes off, following being him into his house.

“wow, i haven’t been to your house since before you left.” you looked around in awe, admiring all of the decorations; as well as the multiple baby pictures of ollie with his family.

“we can always come here more often to hang out�� if you want to! it’s up to you.” he suggested sheepishly.

“you’re funny ollie, i can come over more often if you’d like.”

he averts eye contact from you, the tip of his ears turning a blushed shade of red. you peek behind him when he stops in front of his door.

“um– can you close your eyes? i want it to be a surprise.” he asks.

“ah, only if you guide me! i’m scared to trip over something.” you mumble.

“no of course, yeah totally! don’t worry about that.” 

ollie watches as your eyes squeeze shut, immediately coming up behind you and placing two hands on your shoulders. he cracks the door open slightly, leading you inside. the floorboards creak slightly as you take careful steps.

“sit down right here, don’t worry i won’t let you fall backwards.” he stutters, helping you sit yourself on a cushion. 

you feel the touch against your clothed skin disappear, as he moves to a seat next to you. it’s hard to tell behind your closed eyes. there’s a sound of rustling, and a couple things moving around before it goes quiet.

“okay, you can open your eyes.”

when your eyelids flutter open, you blink slightly to adjust to the different lighting. what you’re met with makes your mouth gape open slightly.

in front of you is a small floor table, covered in a pretty tablecloth. on top is an assortment of different side dishes and bowls full of food. fresh vegetables, steaming rice, and best of all a large portion of meat, seafood, everything you could possibly imagine simmering in a broth. the centerpiece in the middle of the table is a small assortment of flowers.

scanning everything for awhile, ollie clears his throat nervously, “do you like it..?” 

“oh my gosh ollie, yes i love it!” you frown, looking at all of the amazing things he set up.

“i figured we haven’t really had a proper date before and um, i thought this might be nice! ricky recommended me some ideas and helped me out.”

“that’s so sweet augh i can’t believe you did this for me! it all looks perfect ollie.” you scoot yourself closer next to him, capturing him in a tight hug.

you let yourself wrap around him comfortably, feeling giddy in his arms. his hands snake themselves around you, feeling the heat from his skin pressing against your lower back. the position was intimate, but the immense joy flowing from you made you forget about everything.

not fully pulling away, you let your hands rest on his shoulders and removed your head from the crook of his neck. both of your faces were close in proximity, trying to ignore the dark tint on one anothers cheeks. 

his eyes glanced at your plump lips for a second, before you quickly moved away to collect yourself. a deep exhale left your lungs as you tried avoiding eye contact.

“i’m so sorry oh my goodness i–” 

“it’s okay! don’t worry about it um–”

both of you had no words, extremely flustered at the sudden close contact. neither of you had ever kissed before, let alone be that close to eachothers faces. but you were a couple now, why was it so weird?

“i would’ve been okay with um, kissing if you were ready..” he said in almost a whisper, scratching the back of his head nervously.

“are you sure? i didn’t mean to like force you into anything you didn’t want to do!” you panic.

“no it’s okay! i want to kiss you like a lot– but not in a weird way obviously i mean you’re my girlfriend now and– normally couples kiss you know?” he rambled.

“ah i understand! um..” you scoot closer to him, looking up at him through your eyelashes.

“we’ve never really done this before, have we?” he bites the inside of his cheek, looking down at you. there wasn’t a moment where he didn’t believe you were the cutest girl on this planet.

“no, but, i want to.” 

there was silence for a second, before he brought his hands up to cup your cheeks delicately. your skin was soft in his palm as he swiped small wispies of hair out of the way. in one slow movement, he leaned closer to you letting your lips barely touch.

even the smallest bit of contact made you melt like putty, desperate to push closer against him. your eyes closed, letting ollie kiss you.

and while it didn’t last forever, once he let his lips leave yours there was a bashful smile on his face to cover up his embarrassed expression.

“was that okay?” his words slightly quivering.

“hm i don’t know i might need to check again.” you beam, pulling the collar of his shirt to move him back to you, giving him another kiss.

it took him by surprise, barely being able to close his eyes by the time you were pressed to him once again.

“i give it.. five out of five stars!” you announce happily.

“oi, (name) !” you recognize the obnoxious voice of the person you were hoping not to see all morning. peering your eyes up from your notebook, you caught a glimpse of the boy, a grin plastered across his face in amusement.

rolling your eyes, you turned your attention back to the notes you were taking, ignoring the scoffs and huffs made by ollie in the background. not long after, you heard the bell ring.

“good morning students, you will all be assigned partners for a research project. no exceptions will be made to those who wish to change their partners.” hearing this, you mentally prayed you would get someone somewhat decent to work with.

after a long while of waiting as others’ names were called, you finally heard yours. “(name) and ollie.” your eyes widened, and suddenly you felt sick to your stomach. the boy just smirked and leaned back in his seat, as if teasing you for your reaction. oh boy, this was going to be a long two weeks.

week 1, day 1

“can you stop moping over there and help me with this project ? i’m not trying to fail this class here.” you huffed, glaring at the boy who was bored in his own little world. obviously he heard you, but he decided he wanted to tease you and make your life harder than it already was.

“oh, sorry what was that ?” that stupid smirk you wished you could wipe of his face. “you know what, nevermind.” you scowled, returning to the textbook, extremely agitated. the boy grinned in triumph, one for ollie, zero for (name).

week 1, day 4

“(name), i don’t get this part of the projecttt..” he whined, slouching over his chair. you just shrugged, not really interested. “maybe you should’ve payed attention in class instead of zoning out.” you replied snarkly before focusing back on your half.

the boy huffed and collapsed on the table, face smushed against his textbook. “you should be grateful i even agreed to do my portion.” he fired back, but you quickly smacked him across the head, earning a small yelp. one for (name), one for ollie.

week 1, day 7

you couldn’t believe it. that sly boy stood you up on the day you planned to work on the project. you were furious, you had every right to be. with a scowl on your face, you hurriedly shoved everything into your bag, preparing to leave the cafe.

suddenly, a familiar figure rushes in frantic, until he spots you. you were already fuming and seeing him here after standing you up pushed you over the edge. “well, look who finally showed up.” you snarked with sarcasm, venom lacing your tone.

the boy winced, his eyes widening. he shook his head in panic, “(name) i swear i just overslept, i didn’t mean to stand you up !” he looked sincerely apologetic but your pettiness got the best of you. shoving past him as he begged for you to come back, as it was just an honest mistake. two for (name), one for ollie.

week 2, day 1

ollie felt horrible. he’d been trying to apologize to you all morning, but you just pushed the boy aside. you wouldn’t even talk to him, let alone spare him a glance in class. he thought for a while, seeing as you did all the work in the project at first, he decided that’s how he was going to apologize.

he waited until class ended, before making his way over and grabbing your wrist. you sneered and him before jerking your hand away. he sighed, and took your palms back into his. “look (name), i know you’re upset, but i swear i didn’t do it on purpose. i want to make it up to you, so please meet me at the same cafe tomorrow.”

you thought for a second. there wasn’t any harm about giving him a second chance, he did seem pretty sincere. after a long silence, you sighed, “fine but if you don’t show up, i’ll go out and hunt you down liu.” he just replied with a nod and a laugh. two for ollie, two for (name).

week 2, day 2

you were surprised, he had kept his promise, even arriving earlier than you did ! the two of you immediately started working on the project, but you were still skeptical since he was being a little too productive. he noticed your lingering gazes and couldn’t help but grin.

“care to share something, (name) ?” he asked, wiggling his eyebrows teasingly. you smacked his shoulder but replied anyway. “you know, you’re acting quite suspicious, you haven’t been this helpful with the project before.” you emphasized ‘this’.

he scoffed in faux offense. “excuse me, i was very productive, i don’t know what you’re talking about missy.” for the first time, you laughed at his silly tone of voice, not long after he joined you. some other customers gave you stares, but you two were a little busy in your own world. looks like three for (name), and three for ollie.

week 2, day 5

surprisingly, you and ollie were starting to get along quite well. you both found out you shared many similarities and have gotten extremely comfortable around each other now. almost too comfortable.

“oi, what are you staring at liu ? this project isn’t going to finish itself you know.” you jokingly rolled your eyes. but he just looked up, still in a daze. “has anyone ever told you how pretty you are ?” your cheeks instantly dusted in a dark pink hue.

“don’t say things like that out of the blue !” you scolded, gently smacking his head, earning a dramatic cry from the boy. he rubbed the spot you hit him in, “wow is this what i get for complimenting you ?” he pouted. you huffed and looked away, the blush still very much obvious. four for ollie, three for (name).

week 2, day 7

“finally we finished it !” you cheered, getting up to engulf him. he chuckled, hugging you as he patted your back. you weren’t going to lie, these past couple of days had changed your views about the boy you once swore your nemesis. and he seemed to agree with you.

“soo, don’t you think i should receive a treat for working on the project so well ?” he asked, eyebrows wriggling jokingly. you crossed your arms and raised your own eyebrows, “and what would that be ?” he just had a boyish grin on his face.

“oh i don’t know, maybe you can go on a couple dates with me and we can see where that takes us ?” he suggested confidently, although his eyes hid some fear of rejection. you smiled and pretended to ponder, “i don’t see why not, pick me up at 7 liu.” four for (name), four for ollie; looks like you’re both even now.

What would be your reaction if you overheard someone who you swore had been an annoying ass to you for a long time suddenly admit that he liked you?

Surprises were things you appreciated in a limited way. Don't get me wrong, you liked it when someone dedicated the time to make you one, but you didn't like to be the center of attention.

However, this surprise was different from any other. It wasn't meant for you, but it came as a surprise to hear the next words:

That day had been an hectic day to say the least, with exams approaching you needed to study a lot, meaning more time spend on the library by your own. Which you always enjoyed of course.

But what you didn't enjoyed was certain someone acting like a 3 year old kid.

When you were walking through the hallways you accidentally brushed your shoulder with someone.

"Auch, watch were you're going y/n"

"I have bearly even touched you ollie" you answered bitterly

You hated to admit it but ollie had been your friend for a couple of years, years were you both were attached by the hip. Always spending your lunch together, walking home and hanging out outside the school.

But last year he started to keep his distance from you, always making excuses to not hang out or not waiting for you to get back home together. So you drifted apart from each other slowly but painfully.

As you started a new school year you both saw each other again as you shared classes, however you didn't expect him to act a little colder towards you. In fact, it surprised him to see the once sweet ollie you knew treat you so indifferently damaging your nice past relationship.

You decided to fasten your pace towards your initial location and ignore the heavy sighs he left that were distracting you so much.

After your week of exams came to an end you felt like you could finally take a well deserved rest for all your hard work. Gathering all your things you straight headed out to the entrance with your friends as you were gonna have dinner as a reward.

Just when you were about to leave the entrance all together you noticed you had left your phone so you stopped for a moment and told your friends you were gonna take a while more.

"Guys just remembered i forgot my phone, I'll catch up with you later"

Wait, that's it, you left it under your table on your class.

You started heading to your classroom and just as you were gonna open the door you heard two voices inside. Without the inention of eavesdropping you decided to wait outside till they got out or the matter they were discussing came to an end.

However, the walls were to thin and you couldn't help but to hear everything.

"Look ollie I know this is frustrating to you and all that but you need to get things clear in your mind, you just can't ignore the problem like that"

Wait ollie? Ignoring a problem? That really didn't seem like him at all. And although you guys weren't that close anymore you couldn't help but want to help him.

"What else am I suppose to do I don't want to make things even more awkward that they are now and I'm honestly scared"

"I know you can feel like that but you need to at least accept it, I've seen how you glance at her during classes with those sad eyes. You cannot deny it anymore"

Those word made you trip by accident startling both of them on the process.

You opened the door slowly and trying to not be that obvious you asked for your phone.

"Sorry, have you seen my phone here?"

The expression on their faces was priceless to say the least, specially ollie's (wonder why lol)

"N- no"said ollie

"I have to go, see you later guys"said his friend quickly giving ollie a little smile

The room stayed quiet as you searched for your phone quickly.

"Ah found it"

"How- how much of that did you hear?"he asked stuttering while his cheeks flushed a deep red color

You stayed silent for a while but you eventually turned around to answer him properly.

"Uhm...all of it?"you said shyly

"Oh i-"

"So, you like me?"

"Yes, and I'm sorry for distancing myself from you but I was scared that if I told you our relationship wouldn't stay the same and I'd lose you"

"So you thought the best option was to ignore me?"

"I- i just needed to get rid of those feelings, didn't want to risk what we had" he said looking down

You could see the sincerity of his words right through his eyes and even comprehended his actions, so staying mad at him was pointless at that point.

So you flashed him a sweet smile expressing all your feelings shortly.

"You know you are really stupid right?"

He looked at you stunned by your question, but just as words were about to leave his mouth you interrupted him.

"I like you too ollie, and if you want me to forgive you you better come with me have dinner" you told him without looking back

"For real?"

You giggled at his reaction.

"Yes, now grab your things before I change my mind"

His face immediately lightened up at the thought of one chance to hang out again, but even more at the thought of still having a chance with you.

"Yes m'am"he said as he smiled brightly and followed you quickly outside of the classroom.

This was the best surprise you could have ever asked for.
