can we talk about how hard it is to find genuine friends who are LGBTQIA+ allies?

I had the pleasure of being friends with a girl who was pansexual, so even though she wasn’t an excellent friend she was amazing when it came to girl talk.

then once i was in hs i got a new friend group, they were great, they taught me a lot about healthy relationships, especially one friend tbh, but im derailing. they loved talking about crushes, i “crushed” on a guy and they did too, we often discussed it etc. — also i did id as bi atm.

then came my first hs girl crush, i liked girls before and was always open about it and they were welcoming. then when i liked a girl suddenly no one was interested in talking about it, no one cared unless i brought the topic up, it was brushed off and it made the vibe switch quick. yet still those same friends talked about boys.

and you can explain it, by saying that they can’t relate etc. but i think that’s just making up excuses, i have a straight friend who i love so much for how she always talks with me about women, she doesn’t mind it, she never made me feel weird or predatory for my lesbianism and encouraged me focusing on women when i questioned my attraction to men. she didn’t question me, when i least needed it, since i was confused myself — which had happened before with the friends i talked about earlier.

many people claim to be allies, but i truly don’t think are.
