MANY THOUGHTS ABOUT AMBIGUOUS PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS BELOW BRACE YOURSELVES I'VE BEEN SAVING THEM FOR THE WHOLE TIME I'VE BEEN WATCHING THIS SHOWE

Kay so did these writers INTEND for Shiro to be the buffer hotter nicer and objectively, measurably better male version of me? Obviously not they do not know who tf I am. But I am happy about it. Anyway I love his relationship with Keith, if I were to rewrite this show with a less ensemble focus... I would still make it all about Allura 9/10 times (and she would be a space lesbian 7 of those times) BUT I promise 1/10 of those times would be about Keith and Shiro.

I am a hoe for shifting interpersonal dynamics, I am a hoe for bringing two people to level footing after they spend their whole lives on one or the other (Shiro being the only one there for Keith and really the only sort of authority figure, then Keith being the only one there to always support Shiro and keeps saving him again and again, and now they're both sort of in a position where that has all changed and they're on level ground)

Beautifully done, I love the depth and complexity there, the acting and animation for it was beautiful. I like that they're not... like a sibling dynamic, for lack of a better term. Sibling dynamics in fiction especially tend to be pretty constant and the ultimate power dynamic doesn't change so much. See Succession in television, see Avatar the Last Airbender, see the girls in Little Women even! Though they grow and change and evolve as characters, the relationship they fall into is pretty consistent throughout.

Keith and Shiro have a bit more depth and complexity than that, which I personally really appreciate. I love a complex, somewhat ambiguous, yet incredibly intense personal connection. It brings a lot more out of both parties as characters, it requires a lot more from them in the story and I think it is harder to do well as writers!

It's family. In whatever sense you want to read it. And things change and people change and the standing they have relative to each other will change but the fundamental constant of their relationship is not the dynamic but instead the two equal parties to its depth and intensity.

As I believe I've established before, I'm not a big shipping person. I also think that what is already there in text is more than enough for me to really enjoy this personal relationship. They're Keith and Shiro and that is Enough for me. Because the writers actually developed this and its significance and it has strong bearing on the direction of the story and they are BOTH fulfilled as characters through it. Beautiful stuff. And there's still segments where I think they're both limited and the writers don't quite know what to do with them (disappearing Keith so that Shiro could lead rather than playing off of the tensions between them there, not quite letting Shiro know there's something wrong, there's a lot a good writer could do there), but ultimately. What's there is beautiful and well done.

Now if only the show had managed to hit upon that for. I don't know. EVERY FUCKING OTHER CHARACTER IN THIS SHOW FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. THERE'S 7 CHARACTERS, 6 IF YOU WANT CORAN TO BE JUST COMIC RELIEF. YOU HAVE SOOOOOO MANY RELATIONSHIPS TO PLAY WITH HOW DID YOU ONLY MANAGE TO WRITE ONE OF THESE WITH ANY DEPTH OR COMPLEXITY

Headloss interlude momentarily over, the only writing thing I look forward to while watching this show is seeing where the writers take Keith and Shiro next as a dynamic. I always look forward to the animation (it's gorgeous), always look forward to being surprised by some silly little bit of humor that delights me, but insofar as an element of the show where the writing is strong? Keith and Shiro's interactions take the cake and there's no other competitors.

Just really fantastic stuff in this episode

Ofc sandwiched by a layer of mediocre nonsense that really didn't need to be there because what are we, an actually good show? Can't have anyone thinking that! Guys I am so serious I'm half expecting that instead of now letting Shiro get to save Keith a few times, instead of showing them just having that sort of unspoken partnership, they're just never going to interact again after the backstory episode.

Anyway I really like Adam he's a bitch and I love a bitchy ex boyfriend always. I love him. I think he and Keith should interact. I really do. I think they would be haters of each other and I love it. Me and my ride or die have a policy about each other's exes so I fully expect Keith to bring the shovel and not the talk. Cannot wait for the epic reunion tour.

Wowee did i shake with joy when Peter appeared at the video store. Yes i know he was a-murderin but its PetER HaLe.

As my mutual likes to say, i "scream 'Peter omg its peter' everytime a corpse shows up on screen" which might or might not be true,

I will admit, that shot with Jackie and Lyds was hilarous. The most unrealistic part: Jackie not already knowing exACTLY where The Notebook is shelved😂😂

Also Stiles Stilinski is the absolute cutest and yes, Oral Fixation stiles is one of my headcanon

Derek seems a lot calmer than i expected. Him just out here casually breaking Scott's hand and the calm in his voice when he says "It'll heal".

This man is tired of dealing with this whinny teenager, poor Scott. But Derek's face when he does it, its like he doesnt want to hurt scott but he thinks its the best way to teach him.

Also Stiles is 100% more involved and worried about the werewolf stuff than Scott, like Stiles has his priorities straight (might be the only straight thing about him lol), even though hes not even a werewolf. Like, when Stiles goes to check up on Lydia, he asks about the "Mountain Lion" business first, not at all like Scott when he needed the Wolfsbane bullet from Allison.

Kate makes me want to curl up and cry but then we immediately get some Hoechlin eye candy so i feel a little better. Also the workOUT MUSICC ISTG-

Oh no I'm crying again, because Laura deserved better. Fuck you, crazy-Peter. But mostly fuck kate. Because Peter wouldnt have gone crazy if she had just nOT BEEN A FUCKING PEICE OF SHIT AND KILLED HIS WHOLE FAMILY, CHASING AWAY HIS LAST PACKMATES WHO FLED OUT OF JUSTIFIED FEAR

And now I'm heartbroken because Derek said at the start "We're predators", about werewolves, but like Kate talking about licking Derek makes my skin crawwl amd really, she's the real predator here. Idk. Its just scary to me. You know. Cuz of the whole using-him-to-kill-his-entire-family thing.

The Scallison scenes scattered in just give me anxiety, i wanna know whats happening with DEREK AND STILES GODDAMMIT! SCALLISON WE GET IT, YOURE IN LOVE.

Stiles is just 100% main character material for this tho, he's out here trying to contact people, figure out the mystery.

Kate's voice makes me so uncomfortable, and the actress did an absolutely amAZING job at playing the villain, i want to make sure i credit her for that. She played her role remorselessly.

I really sympathise with derek, cuz even tho he's big, tough and strong, he is still just a scared little boy being revisited by his nightmares and it broke me even though I already knew all this.

Yes, before anyone asks I simped over security-cam Peter Hale. Very eerie imagery, one of the shows stronger points. The spooky parts are my fave

Oh look, MORE scallison. Im sorry it just frustrates me because their romance is one of the weakest points of the show to me, like even Jackie and Lyds as the Bitchy Duo has more flavour to me. Closeted and rude gay/lesbian solidarity, anyone?

Aw Jackie bby nooo. I know he's been a dick but hes just a sweetie, the poor kid. Just this scene of him crying and losing his cool, trying over and over and failing at getting the ball in, breaking down in the end. Too sad, and it really hit close to home.

Lydia getting her shit together was honestly motivating. This girl, i really can't handle her sometimes, but she is a queen honestly just for being able to pick herself up. At the end of the day, she trying to live in this world, she's just more viscious and and motivated to get to the top. Hearing the way her paremts spoke about her, and Lyds putting her perfect, cold, unaffected face on in the mirror made me feel like "This girl KNOWS what they must be saying, but she is sitting here with a little smile because she KNOWS she has proven them wrong". And that. That is admirable.

Also coach cupcake is the best and Sheriff Stilinski always ready to back his boy up. The similairities between Stiles and his dad has me wanting to give a standing ovation to both actors. You can just tell the characters are related in the way they speak and their facial expressions

The teacher beatin down on Mama McCall has me FUMING! SHE IS A GODDAMN GIFT. Fucking sexist- acting like she aint doing her absolute best smh.

Chris Argent trying to fight Mama McCall is funny he couldnt even for a SECOND. Like listen Papa Argent, you are hot af for an older man, but Mama McCall is my Mommy (YES I MEAN THAT IN AN INCRIMINATING WAY) and no way is your attitude helping you win me over lmaoo.

OH GOD THEY HIT THE FUCKING SHERIFF WITH A CAR.

Okay so I don't have a speech ready but THANK YOU SO MUCH to @the-everlasting-dream & @the-choices-fanart-giver for organising this and to all of you who voted for me, read my fanfics and ramble thoughts, all the friends and virtual strangers who supported me through all this time and showed me love and appreciation.

It truly means a lot, especially in this particular moment.

I cannot find words strong enough to express my gratitude and how honored I feel to get this recognition as LBGTQIA+ writers in this crazy fandom. It means a lot as this blog was created to give spotlight, recognition and narrative to LGBTQIA+ pairings and characters which sadly too often didn't receive the adequate screen time and care in games like PB. I created it to say that lesbian/gay/bi/trans etc. exists and they deserve to be acknowledged, to be seen. It sounds sappy but love is all and there is no need for people like us to suffer from lack of content and representation. Life and fiction may not be the same exact thing but representation matters, empowers people, made them feel understood. Or so I hope, even though I don't know if I always managed to convey it in my works. I apologise if I failed at times.

And this award means even more for -I know, it might surprise some- a closeted gay girl with poor luck when it comes to romancing ladies: my romantic life might suck but if I make even just one of you happy or dream a little reading one of my stories, well I feel I did my job.

One last thing before I go cook my dinner: I truly hope every LGBTQIA+ member of this fandom (or other fandoms I'm part of or literally any human being) know that this blog is a safe place for them. I hope you do feel safe here, lovelies, cause you deserve it ❤🏳️‍🌈

Why do I get the feeling the girls will lose the camera soon?

That snow transition to Chi was…weird…

I think at least a small part of the problem with this show is that it’s drab. Another part is that your appreciation of the show depends on how you view it as relaxing or mind-numbing when you watch it week-to-week. Yet another aspect is that it rides upon, also, your appreciation of the philosophical content that you’re allowed to wade in as part of the show.

“Pumped up” doesn’t seem to be the right word, subbers. I don’t know why (maybe context?), but I don’t feel pumped up when I see the moon. The moon, to me, would be motivating if I were in their situation, but it sure wouldn’t pump me up…

“Magic power”? Judging from the mouthflaps, the word was mahou which just translates to “magic”, and would’ve done decently here too.

Please don’t ship the lolis…

What was that last part with the robot communication circles and patterns for? I guess it made more sense with the volume on, huh…

Why do I get the ominous feeling the biting “ice floe” was Aculeatus or someone like that (and not Ventricosus, the king)?

I love how grumpy Antarc is when they’re like, “Tha failure is all mine” and they’re just holding their hand like it’s no problem. The hand really is no problem, especially in contrast to Phos, come to think of it.

It’s hard to convince someone when you literally have no hands to do it with…

“I raise my hands in defeat.” – Phos in on my level of puns. I was going to make a hand pun and then they come up with this, which is much better than what I could think up on the fly.

Notice Phos is the only colour in this winter world…

I knew gold was soft and platinum too, but…what does that have to do with-oh wait. Never mind.

It’s like something out of a horror film…it’s sheer genius.

Phos’s eyes look like Antarc’s used to…plus they’ve gained a personality like theirs too.

I’m really unsatisfied with the fact I’ll have to say goodbye to this show in 2 episodes…It’s been my favourite for this entire season, and when the competition is strong, that means this show – with all its fluff and misunderstandings – has done itself more than enough to deserve a spot on my favourites list.

This is Netjuu no Matome (Summary of an MMO Junkie). Honestly, my translation works a lot better than CR’s this time don’tcha think?

Hayabusa (Falcon) Moving Company. Makes sense if Amazon is its RL counterpart…

…then it turns out they wrote Hayabusa backwards on the moving van (Sabuyaha). LOL wut.

As soon as Sakurai’s battery died, I swear I just heard The Entertainer in my head. As if it’s all some big dream I’m bearing witness to. But of course, it’s fiction. It’s basically a shared dream for the lot of us who know about it. A sweet shared dream we can access anytime.

Every time I look at that credit list and see Maeno as Harumi…yeah…not gonna think about it. But it seems double-Sakurai even got Harth as a role. Wowee, Sakurai!

“I Call That Feeling Marble” – Why “marble”?

Sono Kimochi Ma-buru…so they weren’t quite lying when they said “marble”, eh? Sono Kimochi would translate to “that feeling”. However, ma-buru could be “marvel”, so it could be “I Call That Feeling [a] Marvel” (which makes a lot more sense).

I swore Morimori-chan would’ve asked to be partners! The fact that she didn’t was so disappointing…

There were some ducks drifting along in the foreground of one shot.

The show shows its Comico roots – that park background looks like it came out of a visual novel, which is a sort of trademark of Comico series like ReLIFE and it. Nanbaka, on the other hand…if you’ve seen it before, you’ll be aware of what that show’s visual quirk is.

So the woman’s name isn’t Sendai, but Yashiro? Okay then.

I feel like Sakurai and Tenya Iida would be good brothers in an AU. They act in similar ways to each other.

The humour in this show is somewhat unwarranted. It doesn’t always work, either. (I like a majorly consistent show best. Incongruous mood whiplashes don’t always work, after all.)

Is it Silver or Silky? I still don’t understand…

I think I’ve seen some spoilers saying Rabbit dies. I already knew everyone bar one *eyes Rat* will die anyway, but the game is in seeing how they die.

Were CGI models the best for this moment? Probably not, but there was some good movement from Usagi there.

Hey, this episode is titled after Rabbit. Isin’s genre-breaking strikes again. Also the scribbles on the faces is a nice touch, but not as good as the marionettes from Rampo Kitan.

I’d like to headcanon Eiji is good at soccer. Not as the Ox, but just as himself.

Well, “CGI models” was definitely true right there when the Tatsumi bros attacked.

Those ice effects got put to good use, at least.

If you sit a bit of a distance from the screen, you can see they really are CGI models, the Ox and the Tiger. Graphinica’s really pulling out the stops – after all, didn’t they just say “don’t do what you’re unused to doing”?

I think two of the kanji from “To Treat A Man Beef From His Own Cow” (the title, not the episode) are from Gobouken (the name of Ushii’s sword, and the name also means “bayonet”), which is interesting.
