big L for roosterteeth today boys! i hope they realize that taking down EVERY camp camp ep from youtube will just crush their viewer count even more. they just killed the chance for s5 to succeed if its only going to be on their website 😭

anyways, the YT movies/tv section & tubi both still have the series for free! downside, there are ads, censoring, & the episodes are formatted real weird. you cannot screenshot on youtubes movie/tv feature, but to my knowledge you can screenshot/record on tubi. i don’t believe either have the newest episode?

New post since 2 months. This blog is basically dead.

How do I start? Well a long time ago I was a RWBY fan. I found this series after watching Camp camp and Nomad of nowhere. During this time I was craving more Roosterteeth content, so I checked out RWBY.

Okay I'm going to share my over all thoughts about this since there's either this one side or the other. It was an alright show. It wasn't one of the best things I've seen since Samurai Champloo nor was it the worst thing like Velma or the amazing Bulk. See I have a very high yet low standard due to me liking shows for story and such, but I also know that there's always a bigger fish when it comes to terrible quality (there's a literal movie called selfie man).

RWBY was kind of mid (not in meaning terrible just somewhere in the middle) because where there was things l liked about it (the story is ok, I like some of the characters, and the setting) there was things that kind of brought it down (Volume 5, thanks grey, some voice lines [Blakes “I run away too much” line], some weird story elements like Hazel wanting to get revenge on Ozpin, yet siding with Salem [though one can argue that Salem brainwashed him or somethin] and Cinder herself [ love her design though; especially her Vol 1-3 outfit]).

I guess I’m just spouting all this shit because… I’ve grown distant so far from this show and fanbase. I hardly ever check on the show and the fanbase then when I used to. Nowadays I just brainstorm these ideas for numerous story’s and literally spend all day doing school work, watching films and anime, and, sometimes, even researching stuff for my story’s lodged in my brain (don’t know if that’s weird).

I guess I’m not into the show anymore. And I guess since the shows not appealing anymore, I might as well consider this a farewell to the community. Y’all was probably the most interesting fandom I’ve ever been in (and that’s cause I was in the undertale fandom at one point)

This fandom was a wild tornado of drama and shit like holy fuck. I know in the past I’ve repeated the line “I’m gonna leave this show because of the fandom”, which kind of sounds whiny to me now. Yet I never left. For some reason this show had a special dedication in my heart which is why I made this blog to begin with. To criticize those who make dumb takes and such. I know at one point I was gonna make a post about ironwood (though considering I’m writing this that seems unlikely).

I guess ,in the long run, I wanna say… thanks for making me a member of this fandom for at least a year and a half. It was an interesting ride with y’all in the fandom. For those still watching the show, I hope you keep enjoying it the way you do. And as for the insane RWBY critics and RWDE, y’all need to calm the fuck down. Seriously RWBYs far from being a god awful show ( I’ve seen worst).

Anyway, I wish y’all a farewell. Oh and I’m barely writing this right now so sorry for any mistakes I made.

GETTING TO THIS MONTHS LATER 

I liked him a lot! I mean, I’m married to my own personal headcanons just like anyone else, but I really like how the show played with . . . well, my expectations of what her dad would be like, and instead of her feeling inadequate because she’s financially or career-ially (that’s not a word :( ) unsuccessful, she sees herself as a failure because artistically she can’t live up to at least one of her parents. Instead of having her interest in literature be some sort of way to buck her parents’ desires for the future, her writing aspirations then become a way for her to try and follow in her dad’s footsteps . . . and she can’t do it.

In a way that’s sadder than her trying to go her own way and failing. 

I also liked that he was just, like, a nice guy. Not a Nice Guy(TM), but just . . . a good fella. (Not a Goodfella(TM) . . . goddamn it. Literally none of these are intentional.) He reminded me of David, in a weird way -- his good-naturedness and obliviousness to what she’s actually going through. I like that instead of being some sort of villain, he’s just . . . a dad. Out of touch and kinda embarrassing and so obnoxious to talk to, but those are some pretty classic Dad hallmarks, and I’m sure I’m not the only person who saw her own relationship with her father in this episode, both the sweet bits and the things that are so frustrating. (If they have any common sense they’ll pull this kinda thing with Max’s parents too, because adding dimensions and making them resemble real, flawed-but-trying people is so much more interesting than Saturday cartoon villians. Ijs)

Also, he used to be a hippie and that’s hilarious. Somehow it’s both completely unexpected and a perfect foil to Gwen’s . . . everything. Comedy-wise, he’s another character for her to play the straight-man to, and I’m always about that shit.

Anyway, yeah. Good dad. Good episode. If anyone mentions Max and that fucking dog to me I will rip your fingers off and shove them down your throat.

Honest to God I want RvB: Zero to be finished already just so we can all move on. The weirdos who keep misinterpreting Fiona and Torrian's words ("rvb has totally had rap in it before" okay bitch cool they never said it didn't you just got in your feelings) and the freaks whose blind devotion to RoosterTeeth keeps them from reading any criticism without going into a rage both need a fucking nap. I've said it before I'll say it again: Zero could be trash, it could flop, whatever, chalk up the L... but for you to sit there and keep injecting malice into everything the crew does is some grimy shit and a bad look no matter how big of a "fan" you claim to be. Watch it don't watch it feel your feelings but stop acting like it's either gotta be the second coming of christ or satan pissing on your comfort series specifically to spite you. On one hand, with Miles gone, he’s one of the few people who know all of the plot Monty had laid down for RWBY, so like… that’s one more person among that list gone now.

On the other hand, with Miles gone, they have space for a writer who could potentially do WAY better with this racism subplot than the current crew’s been doing and maybe like, can add someone who actually has something relevant to say with this plot.

What do you think it would be like if David took Gwen to a high school reunion and she met his friends? And Vice Versa?

Well, this would require David to have had friends in high school. I’m not saying he didn’t, but I’m not confident it’s very many. Maybe a handful of girls who are so thrilled he finally found someone! And some of the guys who either ignored or bullied him clapping him on the back like none of that happened and saying he hasn’t changed a bit (and David can’t tell if that’s supposed to be an insult or not). I feel like Gwen would be very protective and as aggressively sexy as possible because fuck these assholes. 

Gwen, on the other hand? I have two opposing hcs for her high school experience. Well, the one I think is most likely is that she was neither popular nor bullied, smart enough to get asked by more popular people to copy her homework and enough of a pushover to say yes, but otherwise nobody really remembers her. She bloomed after high school, I guess is what I think, and so if she goes to a reunion it’s probably only because David insisted it would be fun, and she spends as much of it as possible clinging to the wall and drinking while David inexplicably gets along with everyone.

On the other hand, I also really really like the idea that she used to be a cheerleader. Yes, some of this is because she would look so goddamn cute in a cheerleader outfit but also it’s so fun and unexpected! But that would require a level of popularity that I’m not sure our fanfic-obsessed anxiety-ridden perennially-mediocre nerd queen could really accomplish.
