Blue Box Chapter 162!
With our main duo finally together (as of a few months ago), we've got a new conflict set up: these losers getting together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the meantime, Eimei's having their fall cultural festival, and we the readers get some cute costumes for Chinatsu and Hina Chono out of it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyways, in this chapter Moriya and Kasahara end up in relationships of convenience, so they can keep ignoring whatever the hell is brewing between them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And while Chinatsu and Taiki are together, their relationship is also public, so who knows how that'll end...

The Freedom of Expression Ep 37 - Dir en grey's vocalist Kyo imposter scam.
K: Hi, This is Dir en grey's Kaoru with this week's episode of The Freedom of Expression.  Joe san, Tasai san, welcome. Um, well, I think everyone has seen the news, but I think we have to talk about it this time. Joe, could you...?
J: Yes, as you said, I think people are already aware of this news, but an unemployed man from Nara has been arrested after impersonating Dir en grey's vocalist, and fradulently swindling about 54,000,000yen. The suspect is named as Kasahara, of Nara prefecture (aged 39), but from 2017 to this year he has been impersonating the vocalist of rock band Dir en grey, and is suspected of decieving the father of his common-law wife out of 54,000,000 yen with the lie that, 'The owner of our office has taken away my bankbook, so I want you to lend me money for living expenses'.
K: Well, there may be people watching this, including fans, who don't want us to touch on this subject, but I thought I want to talk about it a little, just express my worries, so we can prevent this happening again.
J: Yes, I think that is very important.
K: Yeah. Well, we first heard about it from the police. When I first heard it, honestly, it didn't seem true. Like, 'What??'. In this day and age, where you can get any information straight to your hands immediately, I honestly couldn't believe something like this could happen at first.
J: I think there are two surprising aspects to this. This first is that this deception took place over quite a long time, from 2017 to this year. And then, well, this problem might not be a  money problem, but the amount of money cheated was about 54,000,000 yen. That is a huge amount of money, which a person's life depends on. So with these two points, I think this is a very shocking incident. Well, yes, there may have been chances where he could have been found out during the course of this, but alternatively he may have been very skilled at deception, or used some very strong brainwashing methods on the victims.
K: Well, they might have become blind to it, if they loved him that much.
J: Ah, yeah.
K: He had the same tattoo and stuff, so they might have become blind to the deception.
J: Well, you can see from the fact that he got the same tattoo that he set out to decieve them, so he lied about any inconvenient circumstances. This isn't a case of the victims being careless, it is completely down to the malicious deceptions of the suspect. So, this isn't really anything to do with carelessness. This was planned. This kind of abuse cannot be forgiven.
Kami: If he had the same tattoo, they would definitely be decieved. Because tattoos hurt, don't they? And you can't remove it, right? They wouldn't imagine that he would go that far to imitate someone. So if they saw the tattoo, they would believe him. I would too. Thats the incredible thing.
J: Yeh, so in that sense, the criminal took advantage of this.
Kami: Yeh.
J: He thought if he did that, they would definitely believe him. Yeh, we can never excuse this type of thing. But another problem  is preventing this from happening again. This is not limited to Dir en grey, there are countless other cases of people imitatating famous people, and extorting money. So, its like, how do we stop this from re-occurring.
K: Yeah, anyone who tells you 'there is this thing outside of our official announcements', is definitely up to something. Even if its someone connected to the music business, they are still decieving you. So I hope people don't go along with this type of thing.
J: Even those of us in the media, we know about information before it is officially released, but we would never use that to try and approach a fan and do something. The correct information is what has been officially released, so if someone says, 'I've got new info I will tell only you, if you give me something in return'...
K: But there are people who do that.
T: Yeah, there are.
K: So i really want people to watch out.
J: The first thing is to only believe official announcements.
K: Yes.
J: And this isn't limited to any one band.
K: Yeh, it could be happening right now to someone else. Someone could be carrying out a destructive plan.
J: So in regards to that, if you are told anything that isn't official info, or asked for money, please conclude that this is an imposter, this is crime, and contact the police, or at least a friend. That would be the first step to take.
K: It may sound plausible, but the office owner would never take our bank books, haha.
J: Haha. It might sound plausibe for Dir en grey's office?
K: If that was the case, they would be the ones in trouble.
J: Yeh, that would be terrible, taking the band members' bankbooks.
T: Awful, right?
J: Yeh, that would be a problem.
T: Even if you just get a little sense that something is a bit strange, don't get into it.
J: Yeh, someone who reaps other peoples' trust, kindness, and love in this way is trash, I really think they are trash.
T: Yeah.
J: If you look at it from the perspective of the people who were decieved, they really trusted him, right? So for him to become like this, he is really trash. Well, he will be convicted.
Kami: Um, when the amount of money is up to 50,000,000 yen, I feel really sorry for them. Really sorry.
J: So, all we can do now is make sure this kind of damage is prevented from re-occurring. But like Kaoru just said, there may be people out there now carrying out similar plans, so we need to competely crush any that are still going on.
K: Well, this guy has been arrested before, right?
J: Yeh, I think he has comitted other offenses.
K: Well, yeh...hm, I hope there are no more incidents with our name happening like this again. I really want everyone to be careful. Okay, lets finish here. Thank you very much.

THE FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION #37  30th October (SUMMARY/TRANSLATION)
Tumblr media
”Man charged with fraud for pretending to be Dir en grey’s vocalist Kyo” Appearance:
Kaoru (DIR EN GREY direngrey.co.jp/) Joe Yokomizo (Writer / DJ) Tasai Reporter (Tokyo Sports)
God ?
Notes before reading: This is a translation/summary of The Freedom of Expression #37 in which they discuss the news about the guy arrested for scam. You probably have already read/heard about this but in case you haven’t, the news are included in the translation.
Please don’t forget to subscribe to their channel and watch their actual video to support the program.
Feel free to correct me if you spot any mistake or any confusing parts.
 --------
You can watch the program here
Kaoru: Hello, this is Kaoru from Dir en grey…The Freedom of Expression is starting today too! Joe-san…. Tasai-san….Thank you for being here today….
Joe: Thank you.
Tasai: Thank you.
Kaoru: Well…. I'm sure you all may know about this from the news……but I thought we had to pick up this topic for this program.  Joe, please go ahead….
Joe: Yes. Kaoru  has already mentioned it, but I think you may already know about this from the news…*Joe proceeds to read the news that appear on screen*
“Man charged with fraud for pretending to be Dir en grey’s vocalist Kyo”
*Pretending to be Dir en grey’s vocalist, Kyo, the man cheated out  54 million yen.
On the 22nd October, the Nara Prefectural Police announced they arrested Yoshikazu Kasahara, a 39-year-old unemployed man on suspicion of fraud. He pretended to be the vocalist of the popular rock band “DIR EN GREY”, Kyo, and deceived a total of about 54 million yen from the father the woman he was living with. He admits the charges.
According to the Nishiwa station, Kasahara pretended to be Kyo from October 2017 to July this year, he said things like “the owner of my agency took my bankbook and I ran out of money. Please lend me some money.” They suspect that he received a total of 53,975,000 yen 142 times from the father (61) of a woman who was his common-law wife.
According to the police station, Kasahara had tattoos similar to Kyo’s on his neck, right chest, and both arms, and he showed them to women and fathers to make them believe.*
Kaoru: As expected, there are a lot of fans watching us. I think there are also people who don’t want the topic to be mentioned but, well, we included this topic in the end because we don’t want it to happen again in the future.
Joe agrees and thinks it’s an important topic. Kaoru says they are going to talk about it and starts telling the story of how they knew about this incident.
Kaoru: The police told us about this in advance but the first time I heard it.....I was shocked….it felt like an incredible/fake story…. Now, we are living in an era where the information is going to be available everywhere soon…. I felt like... is it honest to try to stop talking about it?
Joe: I see. There are two things that shocked me the most. The first one is that it’s a long-term fraud, from 2017 to this year,  and the money might not be the main thing, but the deceived amount of money taken is about 51 million yen (417.311euros/ 487,315 dollars aprox)  ….this is a huge amount of money that really affects the life of a person…..these are the two things that shocked me a lot from this incident….
*The total amount of money is 54 million yen ( 441.859 euros/ 515,981dollars aprox)* (top screen)
Joe says that it’s like the scammer got the opportunity and the circumstances to do the fraud or in other words, that he was the strong side/brain and the victim have been the daughter of the scammed father.
Kaoru points out that he may be a fan (or liked them a lot) because he got the same tattoos at the same places(than Kyo) but the tattoos were not exactly the same (he says that some elements of the tattoos are missing).
Joe replies that having the same tattoos were used to fool the victim as well as the lies and the excuses. He also points out that these scams happen not because of the carelessness of the person who is deceived, just because of the malicious of the scammer. This is not a story about being careless but something that was systematically planned and done to several people. He adds that things like this, abusing others are something that shouldn’t be allowed.
Gods makes his appearance.
God: If he had the same tattoo there, you will definitely be fooled because tattoos hurt, right? That’s why they never disappear. As you don’t think that someone would go that far  to pretend…. if he has a tattoo…. you would believe him…. God would believe him too. It’s amazing, isn’t it? So clever…
Joe: In other words, the criminal took advantage of it…
God: That’s right…
Joe states again that this is not acceptable in any way.
Joe: This is not only limited to Dir en grey, there are also transfer scams. It’s not only you ’re pretending to be such a famous person, there are other ways to do it. How can we prevent these things to happen?
They discuss about this and Joe says that one way is to take as real what it’s announced in their official sites not when you are told by another fan/person.
Kaoru: I want people to be careful about this.
“Believe/trust in bulletins that come from the official site” (top screen)
Joe: Believe only in things that have been officially announced…..
They are taking this opportunity to appeal the ones who are watching the program to not trust any thing that they are told, like asking for money or so, and report it to the police and warn your friends.
Kaoru cuts in it remembering the guy used as an excuse to ask for money that “his agency has taken his bank book” and he burst into laugh.
Tasai: If you stop for a moment and think about it, it’s really strange (the agency taking the bank books from the members)
Joe: Somehow, a guy who reaps the good intentions and kindness of another person in this way…. It sucks…. It really sucks…. Because realizing that you have been fooled in this way…. didn’t you have the best intentions for the other person? If you present this incident in this way, it really sucks….I totally condemn it….
God: If the amount is really 51 million yen, poor them….I feel really sorry for them....
Joe says that there is nothing that can be done now but to prevent that it happens again.
Kaoru: Never again…..these kind of things…. I hope that there will be no more names  coming out in the future due to incidents like this….I really hope that you all are careful. This time, the programs ends here…..thank you....
