I thought this might interest you. It's from the Andersen fairytale "The Nightingale". It describes an item he treasured: "In rank it stood first from the left, for the Emperor gave preeminence to the left side because of the heart. Even an Emperor's heart is on the left."
Huh. Interesting. I love the way Hans Christian Andersen writes

Rewatching the episode this character is from and man, it really is just my favorite episode. Prominently features one of my first fictional crushes, has this great moment that I have to rewatch at least three times when it happens, and after so many mysteries use left-handed-ness as “Oh but wait the killer is left-handed!”, it’s so refreshing to have something do the opposite. Shoutout to Ace Attorney for also tending to avert the usual
Anyway spoilers with SA mention trigger warning:
In this episode a nun is found having been raped and killed. There’s blood on the left side of her robe but no wound, indicating that the blood came from whoever assaulted her. Sweet golden retriever man Brother Oswin (the aforementioned crush) had gotten stabbed by some brigands, which along with having been holed away with the then-alive nun in a shed and shouting some seemingly incriminating things in a state of fever (actually just his guilt over feeling attracted to her when he’s a monk), is looking not so innocent. Meanwhile, the betrothed of Lady Ermina also claims to have fought and been wounded by these brigands during a raid on his home, but as we later learn, he had in fact abandoned all his servants and the younger brother of Ermina. Ermina then rejected him and stabbed him when he attempted to take her by force. All of which comes to the realization that in order for the blood to get on the nun’s left-side, the assailant must have been wounded on the right, and therefore by a left-handed person. The brigand is right-handed; Ermina is southpaw. So yeah, instead of “The killer is left-handed” we get “The killer was rightfully stabbed by a lefty before he went on to do his vile deed (a vile deed which he had already attempted on the person who stabbed him. Yeah, this dude is a POS).” As if being left-handed in the Middle Ages wasn’t already pretty brave in and of itself, Ermina is just a plain badass and a good big sister. Proud to have her rep us
Today's left-handed character is Ermina Hugonin from Cadfael

Hi! I just found this blog and I think it's really neat, it's nice to see characters that are left-handed like me in media :0 Thank you for showcasing them here :D
Here's a suggestion too: Goro Akechi from Persona 5 is left-handed!
Thank you. I’ll consider that one. Gotta do some research on his character
And you are welcome 🤗

Do you also think "two left feet" is offensive? Ever since being more aware of how people look down on it, I can't help but notice patterns in language that consider the left generally to be negative.
Or even things like disney changing the left slipper from the original stories to right slipper in their version
I’m not sure of the exact origin on that one. Seeing as “gauche is French for left, there’s definitely that idea of associating the left side with less-than-refined. It could just be referring to the fact that having two of the same feet would make dancing difficult, but they noticeably did not choose for that to be two right feet, which would be just as inconvenient

Your page makes me so happy. I've been mocked when I said I face oppression as a left handed person. So it's nice seeing a safe space for me here
Awwww. I’m happy I can do that for you. Idk if you saw this entry already but if not, here’s a link for the International Lefthanders Day post: https://www.tumblr.com/leftycharacters/725599204596137984/happy-international-lefthanders-day-thats-right?source=share

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III from How to Train your Dragon is canonically left-handed! It is mentioned in the book
I knew it was the case in the movie, but hadn’t known that carried over from the books. Cool!
