Pairing: Henry ‘Black Crow’ Lopez x Erika ‘Vixen’ Montes

Infinity War - Thanos: Snap Year 2018

After Thor killing Thanos with Nat, Bruce, Steve, Carol, Rhodey, Steve, Nebula and Rocket. How much she couldn't handle it all. Steve check up on her. "We did everything we could Erika." Knowing that Thanos Destroyed the Stones.

Tears running down her face. "We lost people in our lives. It was such a big lost. Steve, I don't even know how I can move past this. You know after Killing Thanos, will we ever get them back? " Even the most powerful came together couldn't stop Thanos. It didn't made her feel better at all.Erika was in Battle along with other heroes, Her mother died in battle. Her Sister Stacey, Cousin Ned Leeds even his best friend Peter Parker in space, Kuya Denny were snapped. Her Father left the montes sisters at a young age. She stayed at her Lola's house during the five years at New York. Ned's Lola is her mother's aunt. She felt so alone. Lola knew her granddaughters were gifted and heroes. "Na miss na kita. Neng you can stay here as long as you want." (I miss you so much, Baby or young girl.) She couldn't have been more proud of her. Welcoming Erika into her home . Lola was confused and couldn't believe it that Ned and Stacey were snapped and Erika had to remind her Lola and answer her questions. "Lola they are all gone, we did everything we could to stop yung malaking purple na lalaki." As Erika tears going down her face. Lola comforts her. "Alam kung babalik sila sa atin." (I just know that they will come back to us.) As Lola caress her face and gently wipes her face. Within those five years the two have grown closer than ever.

"Thanks Lola. But I have to go back to San Francisco soon."

Avengers: Endgame

During the five years there was many emotions Erika felt. Grieve, Anger, Depression, Sadness, Regret. That was the first time she felt she couldn't handle everyones emotions. She usually can block them. But she got to move forward and live her life. She have met many heroes in her life.

Tears running down her face. "We lost people in our lives. It was such a big lost. Steve, I don't even know how I can move past this. Killing Thanos wasn't the solution now is it, will we ever get them back? " Even the most powerful came together couldn't stop Thanos. It didn't made her feel better.

Over the years Nat have checked on everybody.

Erika was originally from San Francisco, California. She went back to her hometown. That's when she came across Scott. "You're that superhero kid that can stop bullets with her eyes! Wow! How long has it been? How long I was gone?" He recognized her.

Squinting her eyes from a far. "Oh... My... God... Scott? I thought you were snapped away." She smiled. Recognizing him. Then Scott wanted her to meet his daughter Cassie.

Erika Immediately taking him to Avengers head quarters. "Steve! Nat! Look who I brought. " Erika smiling and yelling she now patting Scotts back seeing the camera is now on. Motioning that the camera is on... "Oh, Hi, Hi! Uh is anyone home?"

"Yes, someones there I know Natasha and Steve should be in the headquarters. I just told you the camera is on." Erika says sassily.

Scott continues to talk to the camera. "This is, uh Scott Lang. We met at the Airport... In Germany. I was the guy who got really big. I had a mask on. You wouldn't recognize me. Ant-Man. I know you know that." Then Scott, points at her, still not knowing that Nat and Steve can see him. "She knows! She's Vixen! Who woulda known she was also from San Francisco. I really need to talk to you guys." Steve thinking it was an old message. Then Scott explains to Nat, Steve and Erika Quantum Physics.

With Time Travel we finally got Tony he made up with Steve, Bruce and Rocket got Thor back and Natasha and Erika got Clint together.

Everyones taking notes on the stones.

It was hard to watch Thor explain the Aether Stone/ The Reality Stone. Erika was going to explain the Stone through his Memories. "I'm awake. No I got it. I'll do the story telling. No need to look into my Memories."

Erika couldn't help but love animals and Rocket even though he got a mouth. Tony did call him a Build a Bear. Her Lola use to send her Build a Bears when she was little. Rocket said that while talking about The Power Stone. Peter Quill stole The Power Stone from Morag the planet. Scott ask, "Like a planet, in outer space."

Rocket patting his head. "Oh, It's like a little puppy. Do you wanna go to space. Do you wanna go to space puppy? I take ya to space." Teasing him. While everyone having Chinese take out. Then Rocket looks over to Erika. "Can't believe this little girl is strong and full of happiness."

Nebula explaining the Soul Stone. "Vormir is Domination of Death at the very center of celestial existence. It's where Thanos murdered my sister." Then, Scott awkwardly says, "Not it."

Bruce and Erika explain the Time Stone. She has encountered Dr. Strange through her Mother, was an Ally of Strange and Wong. Thanos thought the Time stone was with Diane as she was one of the Time Stone protectors. While everyone’s tired and lying down.

Nat, "That Time Stone guy."

Bruce, "Doctor Strange."

Nat, "Yeah, what kind of Doctor was he?"

Erika, "A Neurosurgeon."

Tony, " Ear Nose Throat meets Rabbit from hat."

Nat, "Wait, He lives in New York."

Erika, Just releasing along with Natasha she quickly sat up facing Nat. "Yeah, he does. We have some stones here in New York." Gasps out of excitement.

Bruce and Tony talks over Nat and Erika, "Blecker and Sullivan Street."

Tony, "Have you been listening to anything."

Nat adds "Guys, If you pick the right year. there are three stones in New York." That causes Hulk to get up saying, "Shut the front door."

There are Six Stones, Three Teams and One shot. Space, Mind, Reality, Power, Time, and Soul.

Steve, Bruce, Tony, and Scott got the Space, Time, Power Stone

Thor and Rocket got the Reality Stone.

Nebula, Rhodey, Nat, Clint, and Erika got the Soul Stone and Power Stone. While they Spilt into two Rhodey and Nebula team up together while Nat, Clint, and Erika team up together at Vormir.

2014 Thanos knows about the future. Nebula tried to warn Nat, Clint, and Erika.

Nat, "Bet the Raccoon didn't have to climb a mountain. It's so easy for her she could levitate and fly." Motions at Erika.

Clint, "Technically he's not a Raccoon you know."

Erika, "He actually is, he was experimented on though. That's how he can talk." Nat gave both Clint and Erika a look.

Nat, "Oh, whatever. He eats garbage." Erika rolls her eyes playfully and giggles.

The Red Skull welcomes the three. "Welcome." The three goes on their fighting stances. Nat points her gun, Clint got his Ronin Sword and Erika got her magic and her bladed red fans ready in a fighting stance.

"Natasha daughter of Ivan, Erika Daughter of Diane, Clint of Edith."

Nat still pointing a Gun to the gun, "Who are you?"

2014 Red Skull, "Consider me a guide. To you, and to all who seek the Soul Stone."

Nat, "Oh, good. You tell us where it is. Then we'll be on our way.

"Ah, liebchen– If only it were that easy." Red Skull leads the three to the cliff. "-What you seek lies in front of you... as does what you fear."

Nat, "The stone is down there."

Red Skull, "For one of you. For the other... In order to take the stone, you must lose that which you love. An everlasting exchange. A soul, for a soul." Natasha sitting on a log while Clint watches the Stonekeeper. As Erika saw a vision of Gamora being pushed by Thanos to get the Soul Stone five years ago also a vision of Natasha taking the fall off the cliff.

Natasha and Erika talk to each other telepathically.

Nat, 'Let him figure it out on his own. I know you can communicate with me and hear my thoughts.'

Erika, 'Nat, please don't do this. You have Yelena.'

Nat,'You have Stacey, a big family who's looking forward to see you. When they get back. You don't want to let your grandma down do you?'

Clint checks on Erika, She spaced out a bit while Nat sits this one for a bit..., "How's it going? Erika, You saw something didn't you." He chuckles a bit. "-Jesus...Maybe he's making this shit up... Erika please tell me he is lying." As Clint walking around back and forth a bit.

Erika calmly says, "Someone have to make a sacrifice. I saw that Thanos pushed Gamora off the cliff to get that stone."

Nat adds, "No. I don't think so."

Clint "Why, cause he knows your Daddy's name?"

Nat, "Erika's right... I didn't... Thanos left here with the stone without his daughter. It's not a coincidence."

Clint, "Yeah."

Nat, "Whatever it takes."

Clint, "Whatever it takes." Natasha stands up.

Nat, "If we don't get that stone, billions of people stay dead."

Clint, "Then I guess we both know who it's gotta be."

Nat, "I guess we do." Erika knew it would be Nat going to make the Sacrifice. It wasn't her part to tell Clint. Nat hugs Erika then after. Clint holds Natasha's hand and she reciprocates and they look at each other.

Clint, "I'm starting to think– we mean different people here, Natasha."

Nat, "For the last five years I've been trying to do one thing, Get to right here. That's all it's been about. Bringing everybody back."

Clint, "Oh, don't you get all decent on me now."

Nat, "What, you think I wanna do it? I'm trying to save your life, you idiot." Erika staying out the two conversation.

Clint, "Erika's got a sister and once her sister is back she's have nothing. Yeah, well, I don't want you to, because I– Natasha, you know what I've done. You know what I've become. Erika also deserves to live as much as you do."

Erika just have to ask, "What about Yelena?" Nat, Looking down not facing her.

Nat, "I don't judge people on their worst mistakes. Neither does Erika. She's got so much life ahead of hers. She's got a family. "

Clint, "Maybe you should."

Nat, "You didn't."

Clint, "You're a pain in my ass, you know that?"

Both Clint and Natasha lean their heads against each other. Then Nat places a hand on Erika. and they both smile at each other. Nat communicates Erika, "Tell Yelena, I love her."

Clint, "Okay. You win." Clint smiles and knocks Natasha to the ground.

Clint, "Tell my family I love them." Natasha returns the favor by tackling Clint to the ground.

Nat, "You tell them yourself." Natasha electrocutes Clint and she runs towards the cliff. Clint gets up and shoots an explosive arrow knocking her down. Clint then runs towards the cliff and jumps. Erika catches up to Clint, Natasha jumps after him and hooks him up to a grappling hook. Erika Levitating into the air.

Clint, "Damn you!"

Nat, "Let me go."

Erika, "Nat. " Whispers sadly as Erika and Clint.

Clint, "No. Please, no."

Nat, "It's okay." then she faces Erika, "Tell Yelena I love her."

Clint, "Please-" Natasha kicks the wall, falls off the rope, and plummets to the ground. "NO!!!" Erika tries to lift her up. with her powers. But it was rare that it wasn't working. and on time. Natasha's body on the ground, dead. A boom in the sky sends Clint and Erika in a pool of water. Then the Soul Stone in Clint's hand. He hits the ground out of sadness. Erika crying. Erika don't know whether to hug Clint or not. But he really needed that hug. He wanted to be angry at Erika. Clint let her hug him. That Erika knew Nat would sacrifice herself to save billions of people. Erika's and Clint's Quantum Suits activates and they both shrink back to the present day, soon joined by the others returning from their journeys. At the Avengers Head Quarters and the Quantum platform everyone looks around to see all the recovered stones.

Bruce asking, Erika and Clint, "Where's Nat?" The silence from Clint and Erika tells them all they need to know. The mission was completed but at a dire cost. Sadness overtakes everyone. Bruce falls to his knees and pounds the floor in grief.

Outside the Head Quarters at the Lakeside Erika, Tony, Steve, Thor, Clint, and Bruce are mourning their fallen teammate and friend.

Tony, "Do we know if she had family?"

Steve, "Yeah. Us."

Thor, Confused, "What?"

Tony, "Huh? I just asked him a question–"

Erika, tries to calm Thor down, before this gets heated. "I know, we're processing all of this."

Thor, "Yeah, you're acting like she's dead. Why are we acting like she's dead? We have the stones, right? As long as we have the stones, Cap, we can bring her back, isn't that right?" He growls angrily at Tony. "-So stop this shit. We're the Avengers, get it together."

Erika, "Thor, my powers wouldn't work to prevent what happened at Vormir. Even if I use my magic to heal her and bring her back. We couldn't. It's a true sacrifice." Thor couldn't yell at Erika.

Clint adds "We can't get her back."

Thor, " Wha– what?" Looking at Clint and Erika at disbelief.

Clint, "It can't be undone. It can't." Thor dryly laughs.

Thor, "I'm sorry. No offense, but you're a very earthly being. Okay? We're talking about space magic. And "can't" seems very definitive don't you think?"

Erika, "Any magic we can't use. She can't come back."

Clint, to Thor "Yeah, look, I know that I'm way outside my pay grade here. But she still isn't here, is she?"

Thor, "No, that's my point–"

Clint, "It can't– be undone. Erika did everything she could! Or that's at least what the red floating guy had to say. Maybe you wanna go talk to him, okay? GO GRAB YOUR HAMMER, AND YOU GO FLY AND TALK TO HIM!" Clint's anger is quickly replaced with grief.

Erika having tears falling down due to guilt. Didn't want to go into this conversation. Because, she can sense that Clint blames her. Clint, "It was supposed to be me. She sacrificed her life for that goddamn stone. She bet her life on it. Erika had a vision and she knew this whole time." In a burst of anger, Bruce grabs a bench and hurls it clear across the lake. His anger spent, he turns to the others with a resigned look on his face.

Bruce, she's not coming back. We have to make it worth it. We have to.

Steve, "We will."

Bruce used the Infinity Stones to bring everyone back.

Clint got a call from his wife Laura. Then Erika got a phone call from Stacey.

"Ate! Kuya Denny! (Older Sister, Erika calls Denny older brother this for respect and that he's older) You're back." Erika Smiling hugged Stacey and Denny when they came back. During another Battle with Thanos. Wong, and Doctor Strange created many portals to bring more heroes that have fallen to fight Thanos for the second time.

Peter Parker was so glad to see Erika. "Peter, that means Neds back. I am so glad you're back." They hugged. Peter was shocked though she aged a bit within the five years knowing that they're both around the same age.

Clint gives the Gauntlet to T'Challa, and he runs towards the van while fighting Thanos' army. Eventually he is stopped by the double edged sword, boomeranged by Thanos. When it gets back to him, he charges T'Challa, but is stopped by Wanda, who is filled with anger for the loss of Vision.

Wanda, "You took everything from me."

Erika joins Wanda and the two teams up, Erika yells. "You took my Mother away from me!!!" This was the time she expresses her anger. Then Stacey Joins.

Thanos says he doesn't know the three telekinesis women.

Wanda, "You will." With her powers, Wanda picks up some debris on the ground and tries to crush Thanos with it. then Stacey Blasting her fire powers all over him.

Peter Parker grabs the Gauntlet with his webshooters and is surrounded by Chitauri.

The spaceship cannons appear and start to fire at the heroes. It flings the three telekinetic women away. Wong makes a shield and holds it up. The others do the same. Suddenly one of the cannons hit a dam. Water starts to flood into the battlefield. Pepper is the first to notice.

Peter is still battling the Chitauri. Peter Parker, "I got this. I got this! Okay, I don't got this. Help! Somebody, help!" Still have the gauntlet.

Steve, "Hey, Queens, heads up."

Steve throws Mjolnir, and Peter shoots a web and glides along, then Pepper Potts catches him. Pepper Potts "Hang on. I got you, kid." She drops him on Valkyrie's Pegasus

Peter Parker, "Hey! Nice to meet you– OH, MY GOD!"

The cannons knock Peter Parker off the Pegasus, then they turn to face something in the sky as all the cannons start shooting at something.

Carol Danvers landing near Peter, who is on the ground, weirdly hugging the gauntlet with his body.

Peter, "Hi. I'm– Peter Parker."

Carol "Hey, Peter Parker. You got something for me?"

Erika helps Peter up, Peter Parker gets up and passes Carol the gauntlet, "I don't know how you're gonna get it through all that."

Wanda arrives, Valkyrie flying on her Pegasus as she arrives. Wanda says, "Don't worry."

Okoye, "She's got help." Erika, Stacey, then Pepper lands next to Okoye, followed by Mantis, Shuri, the Wasp, 2014 Gamora and Nebula.

After The Second Thanos Battle

At the cottage. Pepper carries a wreath out of the house to an audience waiting outside for the intimate funeral. She lays the wreath on the lake. On top of the wreath is Tony's first arc reactor which Pepper had framed with the words "Proof That Tony Stark Has a Heart" back in 2008. Pepper, Morgan, Happy Hogan, & Rhodey, all being joined by Steve Rogers, Peter Parker, May Parker, Erika Montes, Stacey Montes, Denny, Thor, Bruce Banner, Doctor Strange, Wong, Scott Lang, Hope Van Dyne, Janet Van Dyne, Hank Pym, Peter Quill, Nebula, Rocket, Teenage Groot, Drax, Mantis, T'Challa, Okoye, Shuri, Clint Barton & his family, Wanda Maximoff, Bucky Barnes, Sam Wilson, Harley Keener, Secretary Ross, Maria Hill, Carol Danvers, and Nick Fury, silently watching the wreath float away.

Erika, Clint and Wanda, standing by the riverside shortly afterwards. Clint, Looking over to Erika and Wanda. "You know, I wish there was a way– that I could let her know. That we won... We did it."

Wanda, "She knows– They all do." Talking about Vision, Nat, and Diane Erika's mother.

Clint in the middle of Erika and gives the two a side hug, Wanda and Erika. reciprocates.

Denny had to say good bye to Steve. It's the best time he lost a close friend, He's glad he got Sam and Bucky along his side.

We have lost some and brought back some. From Tony and Bruce using the Stones. It was the hard for both to transition for those who have gotten resurrected back from the snap. The last thing that Stacey saw was her Mother dying and her sister almost dying during the Thanos battle.

Erika and Stacey got reunited with Ned and their Lola.

Author’s Note: The first few chapters will be about Erika as a Hero, Friend, Family. We’re getting to know her during the time of Infinity War and Endgame. But these events would process and talked about more in future chapters.

Christmas came and went. You, Sam, and Wanda had worked all day to make a fabulous Christmas dinner for the entire team, giving Brigid the time off to be with her family. While Bucky and Nat made sure there was never an empty cup, you and Wanda made sure there wasn’t an empty belly in the entire house. You guys spared no expense of your combined cooking expertise. There was baked ham and roast. Yorkshire pudding, along with various vegetable sides. Sam had put out the appetizers and made sure nothing ever ran out. There were also gingerbread cookies and small petit fours sent over from Járnviðr’s bakery, accompanied by a very inquisitive Angrboda.

After dinner, everyone sat around the tree calling members of the team that weren’t able to celebrate with you. Clint was at home with his family. It was still only Christmas Eve there in Missouri, and they were getting ready to watch a Christmas movie marathon. Peter was hanging out with his girlfriend MJ, so he had to keep the call brief. Scott and Hope were at a tree-lighting ceremony with Scott’s daughter. Everyone was doing something with their loved ones. It made you extremely happy to see that even as superheroes, you all still found time to be with the ones you loved.

You privately video chatted with Tala on the hallway bench, while Loki draped his arm behind you. He had not seen you all day because you were cooking the Christmas feast. He hadn’t let you go since you sat down for dinner.

“Hello, dear Tala.” Loki greeted.

“Hi, kuya.” She answered back. He sat patiently as you spoke to your sister about the dinner and New Asgard. Tala was about to head out to the city to meet up with Shawn and Katy for dinner. After exchanging goodbyes and promises to see each other soon, you hung up the phone with your sister. “She seems happy.” You noted out loud.

Loki agreed with a slight ‘Mhmm’ as he handed you a small gift box, magically pulled from his void. It was red with gold laurel filigree on the borders. It stunned you into silence. A jewelry box. Small enough for a ring, you thought. Would you be ready for this?

“You’re so tense,” Loki said. “This is not the reaction I was expecting.” He chuckled, trying to make light of the growing awkwardness. He circled his arms around you and held your hand that held the box. With his other hand, he opened the lid. Nestled in white satin, were five golden rings. Each ring was thin and dainty. The middle ring held an emerald in its signature cut accompanied by two smaller diamonds on each side.

“How does that song go, ‘On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…’” He started singing.

“Is this what I think it is?” You interrupted him. He looked you directly in your eyes, trying to gauge whether this was a good or bad idea.

“It is whatever you want it to be darling. If you don’t like it, I can always get you something else.”

“No. No. No. Loki. I…I just — I want to know what your intentions are behind it.” He closed the lid. You could see the mask he put on, trying to hide his hurt.

“Wear it. Don’t wear it. I just wanted to surprise you with something I thought you would like.” He got up to leave. He needed the cold sting of the air outside to get him back to his senses, but you held his hands begging him to stay.

“Loki, please.” Tears starting to run down your face. “I’m sorry.” He took that as a hint that you did not like his gift. Maybe he misinterpreted your feelings. Did they not go as deep as his? “I’m just scared, Loki.” Just then, a roar of laughter came from the living room where the rest of the team was sitting. They were opening their presents from each other. Loki wrapped you in his arms and transported both of you back to his room.

“What is this about, Mayari?” He asked you. You were a sobbing mess. You sat on the bed with your head in your hands.

“Oh gods, I’ve messed it up. I’m so stupid. How could I have messed up.” Loki listened to you rambling on. Each sentence sent a sharp blade to his heart. Does she not love me? She’s probably just stringing me along until something better shows up. I must have scared her off with that talk of being my Sigyn and all. He gave a heavy sigh. He felt like his heart was being tied down by a heavy anchor and drowning him in angst and misery.

You got up quickly and hugged him. “I love you so much.” You said with a slight hiccup. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to interpret anything by your gift. It’s just, they’re rings Loki!”

“Yes, I know. I was the one who bought them for you.”

“Do you know what a ring like this means?”

“Darling, yes!” Your eyes went wide. Maybe you had interpreted it correctly. “But darling, if I were to propose to you, it wouldn’t be to the side, hidden away from everyone, on a holiday much less. I would want the whole world to see who I’ve chosen. And when you say ‘yes,’ the whole world would know that you chose me too.” His words soothed you and frightened you at the same time.

“So, the ring…”

“These rings. See. A set of five.” Loki magicked the box into his hands and opened it.

“These rings are just — rings?” you asked.

“I thought it would be charming. Like the song. They could represent whatever you want, pet. A promise. Or just a token of my love.” He held your face in his hands, relieved that you still loved him, and he didn’t scare you away.

“I’m sorry, Loki. That was stupid of me. I didn’t mean to make a big deal about it. I overreacted. I made a mistake.” You nuzzled against his hand, and he looked you straight in the eye.

“Don’t you ever call yourself stupid again! Do you understand me?” He said sternly. You nodded. “Say it!”

“I will never call myself stupid again.” Loki kept staring at you, raising his eyebrow. “…sir.” You finished with a grin. Appeased by your submittal. He moved to the bed to sit. He led you to sit in his lap as he wrapped one arm around your waist and another resting on top of your legs.

“Now, tell me why you’re so scared about the thought of me proposing.” You chuckled at the trap you just got caught in.

“There’s no escaping this conversation, is there?” Loki just hugged you tighter.

“Nope.” He said with a pop of his lips. You let out a long sigh, thinking of the correct words to say.

“I’m not good enough Loki. There are things that I’ve done in my past that I’m not proud of.”

“Whatever it is, it can’t be as bad as when I tried to conquer New York.”

“You were not yourself then, sinta. We all know that now. I don’t have that excuse.” He rested his chin on your shoulder.

“I refuse to believe that you are a bad person.”

“We barely know each other.”

“I know plenty about you. I know that your favorite color is blue. You love to read science fiction and you sing to yourself when you think no one is listening. You love to cook and are wonderful at it. And then there’s this little spot, right under your ear…” Loki proceeds to lick and kiss that sensitive spot, making you cry a small moan.

“What’s more, is that you know the worst parts about me. Some parts I’ve never shared with anyone else. Why does it feel like you’re finding excuses against us?” Loki asked, feeling defeated. This was not a conversation he was expecting to have on Christmas night.

“I’m not. I promise.” You turned and straddled him on the bed so you could look into his eyes. “Loki, I love you. I am hopelessly, madly, deeply in love with you, and I would do anything for you. I’m just not…ready. I’m not ready, right now. The rings caught me off guard. I wasn’t expecting it and it opened a slew of emotions in me that I haven’t confronted in myself. You deserve better than what you have in front of you right now.”

“How can you possibly think about yourself that way?”

“Because it’s true.” Loki looked into your eyes. You had to be the most maddening woman he’s ever met.

“How? How can I make you see what I see?”

“It’s not your responsibility.”

“You’re right! It’s not my responsibility. It’s more than that. You are my commitment! My joy!” You laid your forehead on his. Closing your eyes, you gave a big sigh.

“You are wonderful Loki, Thank you. I don’t even know what the problem is, let alone ask for help on how to fix it.” You said rhetorically.

“No, there isn’t a problem. It’s fine if you’re not ready. As we’ve established. I wasn’t asking to propose to you. When you’re ready, we can talk about it. Then take it from there. This was just me…giving you…a Christmas present.” He handed the red box to you, placing it in your hand. “Merry Christmas, darling. I hope you like it.”

You opened the box again, but this time, you looked at it differently. You saw five golden hoops in different sizes, with an emerald on one. His colors. You could see the thought he put into such a gift. You could picture him singing the song repeatedly in his head so he wouldn’t forget it. It made you laugh.

“It’s beautiful, my love. Thank you.”

“That’s what I was hoping for. You’re very welcome.”

“I have something for you too.” You got up from his lap and walked over to your duffel bag in the closet. You held out a green leather box with a small gold crown at the bottom. Loki laughed at the slight tease. You took your place back on his lap, straddling him on the bed. He opened it to reveal a soft-yellow gold Rolex watch with a blue Lapis face. “You can set up to two different time zones. Whether you’re here or at the tower. Plus, the blue reminded me of your eyes.” Loki stared at you, a shy smile forming on his lips.

“It’s wonderful darling. Very thoughtful. Thank you.” He said as he tried on his new watch. He kissed you again on that sensitive spot right below your ear, a moan escaping your lips.

“If you keep doing that, we’re going to have a problem.” You playfully threatened. He held your hips to thrust up, challenging you, as he laid himself down on the bed.

“You know me, I love to cause problems.” He said with a knowing smile.

11:50 PM December 31.

Here you were behind the curtain, waiting to go on stage. Why did you agree to do this? Every time you sang in public, it scared you half to death. Not because you had stage fright. No. Something far worse. You were scared you were going to compel someone to do something. Something you were going to have to fix later on.

Tonight was the night of the New Year’s Eve Party and Charity Auction. The Langhus was decorated and all of Tony’s most influential friends had attended. Profits from the tickets alone were enough to help New Asgard build more houses and expand the small town. The items for auction would help the people that made them and hopefully give the citizens some notoriety to the world and bring in an economic boost to the city.

As the auction ended, Tony, being the gallant MC and host, had announced a special surprise performance from the ‘The Siren’ herself. You tried to convince Tony that this was a bad idea. But he kept noting how far you’d come in your training and how you have complete control of your powers now.

“Consider it, your final exam. If you can sing in this room full of people and not compel a single one, then you know that you had mastered your gift.”

“I hate you so much right now.” You huffed.

“Tony is this really necessary? She has proven herself time and time again.” Loki criticized.

“If you do this. It would make a lasting impression on everybody here. So that next year, more people would want to come back.” Tony reasoned.

“So wait, you do or you don’t want me to compel them? I’m confused.” You asked.

“No. No. Don’t compel them. Impress them. Don’t you wanna raise enough money here so that your loverboy can live comfortably?”

“Don’t you dare bring me into this,” Loki pointed a finger at Tony. “Darling, you don’t have to do this. We’ve raised plenty of money already to help the people for the following year. We’ll be quite all right. Plus, the entire festival has satiated the curiosity of some of the more fervent followers. I doubt there will be any more devotees out there till next year.” But Tony knew exactly what to say to convince you. You wanted this party to work out. You wanted New Asgard to thrive and to help Loki and Thor as best you could. That’s what family is for.

“All right. I’ll do it. One song. My choosing. That’s it.” You demanded.

“Perfect!” Tony said, leading you to the back of the stage. Tony walked onto the raised platform. As he gave his speech, you looked around the party. Many of your friends were scattered around, enjoying themselves. As you reflect back on the year, it amazed you at how far you’ve come. How many new friendships you’ve made. This year started with just you and Tala. You were content living your life day to day with her by your side. Yet even Tala knew that you weren’t living. She pushed you to the best decision you’ve ever made in your life. You joined The Avengers. You regained your voice. You’ve made new friends. You found the love of your life.

Loki lifted your hand to his lips. He kissed each finger that held the rings he gave you. Two each on your pointer and ring finger. The emerald on your middle finger.

“Have I told you that you look magnificent tonight, darling?” Loki whispered in your ear. You can hear Tony start to lead the countdown to midnight.

“Yes, you have. But once more wouldn’t hurt.” You giggled.

“You look absolutely magnificent, darling. Breathtaking.” He said as he moved in to kiss you. Softly at first, but opened his mouth to invite you in. You can hear everyone yell, “Happy New Year!” as you pulled Loki closer to you. You ended the kiss with a slight tug on his bottom lip. “Happy New Year, kitten.” He said breathlessly.

“Happy New Year, my love.” That’s when you heard Tony introduce you on stage. Loki wiped around your lips for smudged lipstick and gave you one last peck as you walked on. There was a soft roll of clapping, and all eyes were on you. You smiled out to the crowd and took the mic in your hands.

“Hello. I would first like to say thank you to all of you for coming out tonight. Especially those who had contributed to the auction. It means a lot. So before we end tonight and go our separate ways, I just wanted to give a final…blessing…as it were, to wish you all a prosperous New Year.”

“Look at the stars. Look how they shine for you. And everything you do. Yeah, they were all yellow. I came along. I wrote a song for you, And all the things you do, and it was called yellow.” “So then I took my turn. Oh what a thing to have done, and it was all yellow. Your skin, oh yeah, your skin and bones Turn into something beautiful. You know, you know I love you so. You know I love you so.”

You looked at Loki, off to the right of the stage, watching you perform. His hand was outstretched in front of him. You heard ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ from the crowd. Looking back over to them, you saw that the roof had vanished. The wooden walls disappeared up into the night sky.

Stars! Beautiful, bright stars shone throughout the entire venue. Loki made different constellations, like the ones he showed you on the rooftop of the tower not too long ago. He depicted stars from Asgard and you watched some of the citizens in attendance cry, missing their homes. Others, the Midgardians in attendance, were astonished and full of wonder. There was not a dry eye in the house. The experience just humbled everyone in attendance.

“It’s true. Look how they shine for you. Look how they shine for you. Look how they shine. Look at the stars. Look how they shine for you, And all the things that you do.”

A loud banging and some heavy footsteps were heard just outside the doors closest to you. Heimdall had burst in clad in his armor. He looked agitated and worried. He stared at you curiously, then scanned the room. Loki was at your side instantly. He pulled your hand to get you off stage. Something’s not right. Something is going on.

It happened all at once. You saw Heimdall rush to someone. Thor coming from the opposite end. Thor’s hand outreached to grab someone running through the crowd. When your eyes settled on who they were after, you saw a well-dressed man in a tuxedo take out a pistol from inside his suit pocket and aimed it at the stage.

"Chanel! Phone mo tumutunog!" Chanel heard her twin brother habang nasa banyo siya kaya tumakbo siya palabas dahil baka si Bailey na ito. She invited him for dinner kanina kaya lang hindi ito nasagot.

She smiled when she saw Bailey's name on her screen so she quickly answered it.

"Hello! San ka?" She asked enthusiastically.

"Hello, Ma'am? Kayo po ba si Chanel?"

Her forehead creased ng hindi si Bailey ang sumagot sakanya.

"Yes po. Sino po sila?" She politely asked.

"Ah, Ma'am! Waiter po ako dito sa may Central. Lasing na po kasi si Sir at nakatulog na po dito tapos walang kasama" The waiter explained.

"OMG KUYA! Papunta nako! Wag mong iiwan yan dyan kuya, please. Babayaran kita wag mo lang iwan, pleaseeee" Pagmamakaawa niya dito habang natatarantang hinanap ang susi ng kotse niya.

"Okay po, Ma'am. Hintayin ko nalang po kayo" Sagot nito bago ibaba ang phone.

"Hoy! San punta mo?" Clint asked her ng makita siyang nagmamadali palabas.

"Dyan lang! Don't tell mom and dad!" She shouted back at him bago isara ng malakas ang pinto.

"Gosh, Bailey! What's happening?" She muttered habang paulit ulit na pinipindot ang P button sa elevator. She immediately ran up to her car and drove.

She arrived at the area kung nasan ang bar at di na niya inayos ang pagkaka-park niya. What's important is mapuntahan na niya si Bailey ngayon.

She went inside and looked for him. Umikot ikot siya hanggang sa makita niyang may kumakaway na sakanya kaso hindi naman ito mukang waiter kaya nag-aalangan siyang lumapit.

"Ma'am Chanel!" Sigaw nito na ikinagulat niya kaya madalian siyang lumapit.

"Hala! Kuya, salamat!!!" She thanked the waiter and took her wallet out pero hinawakan lang nito kamay niya para pigilan siya.

"No need. Nasa counter lang ako pag kailangan mo ng tulong" Sabi nito bago tumalikod.

Natulala siya saglit pero biglang inangat ni Bailey ang ulo niya kaya umupo siya sa tabi nito.

"Bailey. What happened??? Bat ka naglalasing? May proble--" Tuloy tuloy niyang tanong pero napatigil siya ng biglang isandal nito ang ulo sa balikat niya.

"Astrid"

"Huh?" Hindi niya alam kung tama ba naririnig niya o ano. Astrid just flew to the US this morning for her studies at hindi niya rin gets bakit sasabihin ni Bailey pangalan nito.

"CELESTE ASTRID" Bailey said loudly.

"Huh? Anong meron kay Ate Astrid?" Nagtataka niyang tanong dito.

"Mahal ko" Bailey said in a low voice na ikinagulat niya. Mahal? Si Astrid? Mahal niya si Astrid?

"HUH???" Gulat na tanong niya dito bago alisin ang ulo nito sa balikat niya at harapin ito.

"Sinong mahal mo???"

Bailey looked away from her at itinukod nito ang braso nito sa lamesa. He took another beer pero inagaw na niya ito.

"Stop! Lasing kana!" She said and snatched away the bottle of beer from him.

"Tangina" Bulong nito at tumulala.

She just stared at him and was shocked when she saw tears started to run down his cheeks.

"Tangina" Sabi ulit nito habang sinasabunutan ang sarili. "Ang tanga ko putangina" Paulit ulit nitong sinasabi at ibinubulong sa sarili niya.

Hindi niya alam gagawin niya. She can't process anything. Astrid and Bailey? They're a thing? Bakit hindi niya alam? Bakit hindi nila alam? Bakit hindi nila nahalata?

Bailey suddenly stood up at naglakad na ito palabas ng bar kahit hindi na ito makalakad ng ayos. She immediately followed him at nag abot ng pera sa waiter bago tuluyang sundan si Bailey.

"Bailey!!" She called him and kneeled in front of him when she saw him sitting down at the pavement outside the bar.

"Bailey. Uwi na tayo" She stood up at inalalayan itong tumayo pero inalis lang nito ang pagkakahawak niya.

"Hayaan mo muna ko, Chanel" He said coldly.

"No! Look at yourself! Kailangan mo ng umuwi" Sabi niya dito at sinubukan ulit hilahin patayo pero nagmamatigas parin ito so she squatted in front of him and held his face.

"I don't know kung anong pinagdadaanan mo o kung anong meron sainyo ni Ate Astrid but Bailey please, umuwi na tayo" She said while holding both of his cheeks.

"Please" She mouthed at him dahil nakatitig lamang ito sakanya.

He sighed before standing up pero gumewang na naman ito so she placed his arm around her neck at inalalayan na ito pasakay ng kotse niya.

She fixed his seatbelt and stared at him for awhile. Nakapikit na ito and he looks so messy pero kitang kita parin how he looks so good. She sighed as she fixed his hair and caressed his cheek before driving.

"Bailey, andito na tayo" She tapped his shoulder lightly para gisingin ito before removing his seatbelt.

"Astrid" Bulong uli nito habang nakapikit.

She sighed before shaking his shoulders. "Wake up!" She said loudly kaya napamulat na ito.

"Huh?" Nagtatakang tanong nito.

"We're here na sa condo mo. Halika na hahatid na kita sa taas" She said and went down the car and opened the door for him dahil hinang hina na ito.

She guided him again para hindi mahalata ng guard kung gaano kalasing ito.

They went inside the elevator and she was startled when he suddenly hugged her from the back and buried his face on her neck.

"Saglit lang" He whispered.

As much as she wanted to remove his arms around her waist but she cannot deny how it feels so good. She loves how she can feel his breathing on her neck and she can smell his perfume. She held his hand and leaned back on his chest while Bailey tightened his hug on her waist.

He immediately removed his arms on her waist as they reached the floor of his unit and he went out the elevator immediately.

"Bailey!"

She stared at him while he's trying to find his key on his pocket. He finally found it and he tried to put it inside the keyhole pero mukang nahihilo na ito so she decided to snatch the keys from him at siya na ang nagbukas ng pinto.

They went inside his unit and Bailey lied down immediately at the sofa while she looked around. This is her first time going here.

She saw a picture of Astrid at his study table. Naka-frame pa ito. Its a picture of Astrid sleeping.

She walked towards his table and she saw a lot of polaroid pictures of the two of them. She picked up a one photo and stared at it. Its a photo of Bailey and Astrid kissing.

"Sila pala" She muttered before putting back the photo on the table.

She looked at Bailey and saw that he's already sleeping. She went inside his room to get his blanket pero napatingin siya sa bedside table nito and saw another picture of Astrid. She looked away and took the blanket at dali daling lumabas ng kwarto.

She removed his shoes before fixing his position properly and placed the blanket on top of him. Dali dali na siyang lumabas ng unit nito dahil rinding rindi na siya sa paulit ulit na pagtawag nito sa pangalan ni Astrid.

She cannot feel anything as of the moment and until now she couldn't believe how did they even managed to hide their relationship. Napakagaling nilang umarte sa harap ng mga magulang nila. Sa harap nilang lahat.

She went inside her car and as if on cue, her tears started falling.

"FUCK!!!"

How come? How come na hindi niya alam? Bakit? Bakit sa dami ng lalaking magugustuhan niya eh yung may mahal pang iba? At bakit sa lahat si Astrid pa na paborito ng lahat? Si astrid perpekto sa paningin ng lahat. Anong laban niya?

The production quality is consistent as well, as the record combines clarity with punch and variety in equal parts. With its 10 new songs, the album is a perfect snapshot of Clint’s creativity, and his ability to create emotional, yet catchy music that sounds contemporary, yet immediately easy to relate to.

Any fan of artists such as Grentperez, Rico Blanco, Kitchie Nadal, and Drake will immediately connect with Kuya Clint, and “Highschool Sweethearts” is a perfect introduction. It’s not always easy to approach music with such an eclectic mindset, but it seems to be a winning formula for this artist. - What inspired you to create the album "Highschool Sweethearts," and how does it reflect your personal journey or experiences?

My album Highschool Sweethearts is inspired by my long-distance relationship that I have with my girlfriend of 7 years now that started from us being classmates in high school, which where the album name comes from.

You seamlessly blend R&B, Pop, and modern hip-hop in "Highschool Sweethearts." Can you elaborate on how you approached combining these genres and what you hoped to achieve with this fusion?

The blends of the genres came about from my music tastes and preferences. After listening to my favorite artists like Drake, Rex Orange County, and Joji, I took some of their techniques and songwriting processes and added touches to reflect my personality and authenticity, that is exclusive to the music that I make. Kind of like a "standing on the shoulders of giants" sort of thing haha.

Do you have a favorite song on the album? If so, which one is that and why?

It depends on my mood, but my personal favorite right now would be Streets. There's been a lot of songs lately that feature infidelity, casual relationships and hookup culture and this is my attempt to show listeners that being in a healthy, loving relationship is cool too haha.

Can you discuss how you developed your artistic style over time and how it's reflected in the tracks on "Highschool Sweethearts” ?

My artistic style came from the inspirations that the music that I listen to give me. It could come from the lyrics, the instrumental, and even the melodies of how the lyrics were sung. Each track on the album came from different inspirations, hence the different genres in the album.

- With the diverse styles explored in "Highschool Sweethearts," how do you envision your music evolving in the future?

I hope that I get to condense the diverse styles in my album into a concrete music style that I could say proudly that is my own and authentic. I feel like I'm one step closing in achieving that but there's still ways to go but I am definitely enjoying the process.

- Are there any particular directions or themes you're eager to explore in your upcoming projects?

I'm planning to explore themes in my future songs that are more introspective and reflective in my life experiences, like Mac Miller, Kota the Friend, or Waiian.

Do you have any plans to tour or perform live?

Definitely! I will be performing in open mics and start planning a show to showcase my music sometime next year.
