This Day in X-Project - July 13

2015: Scott gives Jean advice on car shopping. Amadeus Cho sends Angel, Gabriel, and Arthur on a chase through NYC; they finally nail him down and convince him to come to Xavier's. Gabriel complains about Amadeus macing him and asks Clarice for an eye exam. Quentin meets his new roommate (Amadeus) and is severely unimpressed. Jungbrunnen: Wade updates the rest of X-Force on North’s condition and what happened to him; Wade, Marie-Ange, Doug, and Emma meet to discuss North's potential mental state as well as the few loose ends allowed to blow in the wind until they tangle themselves up.

2016: Maya posts about setting up a Pokemon Go trip to the woods. Laurie posts about a dementia vaccine that’s being developed. Cecilia posts about not tending any Pokemon Go related injuries. Jessica posts about going old school, and playing Pokemon on her 2DS.

2019: Fear in the Dark: Two teams of X-Men go to the fight club; Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Marvel Girl, Wolverine, Blink, and Dust are inside and see the trademark Asgardian hammer box in the main ring; Nightcrawler tries to teleport it out but is unable to and winds up fighting the champion, Craig Hollis; Wolverine and Blink see Skadi and D'Spayre in the crowd and overhear their plan to use the fight as a way to find the Worthy for the hammer; before anyone can act, the hammer box is broken and Hollis revealed to be the newest Worthy, Angrir; Scott’s team try to subdue Angrir and evacuate the crowd while Marvel Girl stops the roof collapsing, but lose the three bad guys in the crush; outside, Dominion, Xavin, and Spectrum are also on crowd control when they are confronted by Skadi, D’Spayre and Angrir; they fight, but Skadi and Angrir combine their hammer forces and escape; as the X-Men are leaving, Iron Man, Hawkeye and Black Widow approach them wanting to combine knowledge, but an emergency call forces them to all go to the Triskelion, which is under attack by all of the Worthy, plus the Dweller, who are after the last hammer; Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Dust and Spectrum join Iron Man against Nerkkod and Mokk; Dominion, Marvel Girl, Xavin and Captain America face Angrir and Griethoth and in the vault room, Cyclops, Hellion, Blink and the Hulk try to stop Kuurth, Skadi and the Dweller from getting to the hammer; during the course of the fight in the vault room, the Dweller is knocked out by Cyclops and teleported to the mansion, but the hammer box is broken and the Hulk becomes Nul; the bad guys teleport away and the X-Men head home; Jean and Amanda successfully combine forces to try and lock down the Dweller enough for Tandy to resurface.

2020:

2021: Arise, X-Man: Darcy helps Laurie attend physical therapy and they have a difficult conversation in the car. Matt posts about being old and creaky. Jubilee brings Kyle to a nightclub, where she fills him in on their status in a fake dimension.

2022: Darcy wonders how much she'll get murdered if she brings spray tea in a can to work.

January 6th - Colossus 

The hero known as Colossus is Piotr Nikolaievitch Rasputin, a young man born on a farm collective in Siberia of the former Soviet Union.  Piotr is a Mutant possessing the X-Gene that bestows super powers that usually manifest around adolescences.  For Piotr, this extra gene grants him the ability to convert the tissue of his entire body into an organic steel-like substance.  In this armored form, Piotr possesses greatly enhanced strength and durability.  He is able to transform into this armored state at will (the process is virtually instantaneous) and remain in that form for an as yet undetermined amount of time.

Piotr discovered his powers in his youth when he used it to save his younger sister from being run over by a tractor.  Shortly thereafter, Piotr was sought out by Charles Xavier who was recruiting a new team of Mutant heroes to rescue the original X-Men who had disappeared on the living island of Krakoa.  Piotr agreed to help Xavier and took on the code name of ‘Colossus.’  After rescuing the original X-Men from Krakoa, Colossus decided to remain with the team and embarked on numerous adventures as part of the All New/All Different era of The Uncanny X-Men.  

While with The X-Men, Colossus formed a close friendship with his teammate, Katherine ‘Kitty’ Pryde.  The friendship ultimately blossomed into a romance, yet there were constantly obstacles that prevented the two from having a happy relationship with one another.  

Many years later, Piotr’s sister and fellow Mutant, Illyana, appeared to perish a victim of the dreaded Legacy Virus.  Bereaved and disillusioned with Xavier’s dream of Mutants and humans living together in peace, Colossus briefly joined Magneto’s Mutant supremacist group, The Acolytes.  It would not be long, however, before Colossus returned to the X-Men.  At the time, Hank McCoy was developing a potential cure for the Legacy Virus.  McCoy’s efforts had been stymied in that he required a Mutant to die from the virus in order for him to isolate the needed antibodies.  Still grieving over the loss of his sister, Piotr furtively sacrificed himself so that the cure could be achieved.  

Colossus was believed dead for many years.  It was later revealed, however, that Piotr’s body was abducted and kept in stasis by the Breakworld alien known as Ord.  This alien would later revive Piotr and use the latent traces of Legacy Virus in his blood to help Dr. Kavita Rao in synthesizing the so called ‘cure,’ a chemical compound that could repress the X-gene and essentially transform Mutants into regular humans.  When the Astonishing X-Men team came to investigate Rao’s work, they discovered and freed Piotr.  

Now reunited with The X-Men, Colossus was able to help the team in defeating Ord.  Unfortunately, doing so entailed Kitty apparently sacrificing herself and, as such, the couple’s long overdo reunion proved short lived.  Morning Kitty’s apparent loss, Colossus did the best he could to persevere and continue to aide the X-Men in their various adventures.  Kitty would eventually return, but even then there always seemed to be something that interfered with the pair having a happy relationship.  

Some time later, Colossus battled the super villain known as The Juggernaut during the Fear Itself event.  The Juggernaut was possessed by the entity Kuurth at the time and Illyana was able to use her magical powers to convince Cytorrak that its avatar had abandoned it.   Cytorrak is the entity that bestows The Juggernaut his awesome powers and, feeling slighted by its original host, came to choose Colossus as its new avatar.  As such, Colossus was bestowed Cytorrak’s powers and had his strength and resiliency augmented to an exponential degree; easily enabling him to defeat Kuurth.

Colossus maintained the powers of Cytorrack beyond the Fear Itself event and while it greatly increased his powers, it also caused him to become more savage and brusque in his personality and temperament.  Not long thereafter, Colossus became possessed by a fragment of The Phoenix Force, becoming a member of the Phoenix Five and battled both the Avengers as well as members of his fellow X-Men.  Colossus was eventually purged of the Phoenix Force and soon thereafter was also released by Cytorrack.    

Following the X-Men/Inhuman War, Piotr and Kitty became engaged to be married.  Everything was going well until Kitty backed out at the last moment, calling the wedding off over her concerns that the future of their relationship would prove just as rocky and tremulous as their past together had been.  

Heartbroken and depressed, Piotr spent some time away from the X-Men until he was coaxed back into service as a member of Havok’s oddly cobbled together squad of Mutant heroes.  Since then, Piotr has made a home on the newly founded Mutant nation on the Isle of Krakoa.

Colossus has appeared in several of the Fox Films X-Men movies.  The character was portrayed by actor Daniel Cudmore in X2: X-Men United and X-Men The Last Stand and by actor Stefan Kapicic in the movies Deadpool and Deadpool 2.

The hero first appeared in Giant-Size X-Men #1 (1975).

After the Juggernaut became Kuurth: Breaker of Stone during the Fear Itself Story, Colossus made a bargain with Cyttorak, the other-dimensional being who originally empowered the Juggernaut, to gain the power of the Juggernaut to stand against Kuurth. Jean-Phillipe lets people know that the annual Eurovision Song Contest party is starting. Bobby goes to meet Kyle about his typing, and they end up making ice cream, because if Kyle can't have Bobby Drake's home-made ice cream he will end the universe. Laurie and Matt discuss their respective injuries and Matt offers advice on dealing.

2016: Sue and Jean-Paul go for dim sum and talk about their love lives.
