Neon: Aruto-san?!

Izu: It was, but Sakura-san and Hana-san called me before I could tell you what the objective of this meeting was.

Neon: I kinda asked help from them.

Keiwa: *enters the scene* Aruto Shachou, there you are!

Keiwa: THey think its hating on them,.

Aruto: How could an automated vacuum cleaner hate... nevermind.

Aruto: Kurama-san, I'm sorry but i have to go, it seems i'm needed elsewhere.

Neon: o-okay.

Lmao then Aruto asks Keiwa to keep her company for him until she can get picked up or whatever and leaves with Izu

Cue Neon blushing in embarrassment when she realizes Aruto set her up XD

When Keiwa finds out that it was an omiai for her he's deeply apologetic but of course Neon doesn't mind. Keiwa nevertheless is a sweet tanuki and treats Neon like the princess she is (on Aruto's tab of course, he's gonna take advantage of that Hiden Intelligence dough lol). When the scheduled date is done he even does the gentleman thing, sees her to the car (Ben and John smirk when they see him) and makes sure she's safe before going back to work

Of course behind the scenes everyone is cheering for the two including Aruto who doesn't even mind paying the hefty sum for his kouhai's date or dealing with Neon's egg donor (who would surely be unhappy that he ditched her daughter)

Somehow people had never connected the dots that you weren't a man. It's a fucking mystery where that little gold nugget of gossip even came from. Finally, long legs hidden by baggy men's suit pants in a deep black stretch out, knees cracking when you stand. Yusuke doesn't even flinch. Boy, what a trooper.

One would have to be living under a rock, under the ocean, and under another rock to not know who this infamous troublemaker is. This day was bound to come, this guy's probably been in bare-knuckle fist fights with grizzly bears, at this point.

Oh boy, you never know how they'll take the news you're about to break.

Your words are lost on him, and you sigh, knowing you're about to stand the poor guy up on what's probably his first date. Poor thing. There's no way in hell you're gonna meet that asshole. He just can't take a hint for the life of him. Just how long has Keiko had that crush on him for?

"Listen, I'm not "meeting up" with you. I'm not in the business of hurting people anymore-"

Let me have my character development arc, asshole.

Nothing more can be said as you walk straight past the little delinquent. Though, he does bristle in offence at your casual dismissal. Maybe you should've rejected him slowly... 'it's not you, it's me...'

The two of you do end up meeting anyway, curse you and your curiosity, and you now stand in front of Yusuke with the most unimpressed, 'look, you've got the wrong idea' expression.

Meanwhile, Yusuke is looking aweful proud of himself, and it seems he rolled up with the whole pussy patrol. Of course Shuichi is here, whom you know about because of various contacts that keep tabs on suspicious people for you. And oh, boy, is this redhead suspicious after he caught every single contact of yours with ease, and even more so now that he's groupied with Yusuke, of all people.

Kuwabara obviously wouldn't have missed this for the world, but the fourth guy is simply a mystery to you. Mystery short stack wears only black, like you even despite the school dress code, and as soon as you tilt your head in curiosity at him he immediately looks away. Wierd.

The matter at hand is that Yusuke Urameshi wants to fight you, yet you're not willing to go back to starting shit for no reason. It was just too much hassle, and the second your friends and family got dragged into it was when you called it quits.

"Look, whatever dick measuring contest you think this is, I'm not into it, man."

"Yeah, whatever, man! Come on over here and get your ass-kickin', that smug face a' yours says 'kick me' all over it!"

"You know I'm a woman, right?"

The shocked silence that follows is comical, really.

Yusuke and Kazuma had known of you for a while now, and heard of your feats through others that they had left as pulp on the ground, and were genuinely curious about you. Of course, they never knew the were picking a fight with a woman. As much as they like to promote equality, part of them still cringe at the thought of going against the one rule in the book. Never hit a woman.

Everywhere you look, eyes are wide like dinner plates. Everyone seems genuinely caught off guard, even Hiei and Kurama weren't expecting this. They had just come to see Yusuke get his ass handed to him.

"Why is this such a shock to you people?! Do I really look like a man to you?! Am I ugly?!"

"No- no! You- uh- well..."

Kuwabara steps in to save him, and fails miserably.

"We just thought you were one of those really pretty boys- l-like Kur- I mean- Shuichi..."

This is starting to fuck with you now. At the sight of what Yusuke now knows to be an upset woman in front of him, he cringes. Kuwabara's going on about how rude he is for making a girl cry, even though you're not crying, and like he didn't assume you were a man as well, but he's just background noise.

Somewhere in his head he connects the dots, thinking of every woman he knows and how unexpectedly violent they get when they're angry.

"Actually, that makes sense, you know."

After this turn of events you had actually forgiven this particular group, and the memory of when they all thought you were a man is now a long running joke between the four of you.

At some point, you'd pointed out to 'Useless Urameshi', as you had dubbed him, that he should talk to Keiko because she likes him, and it was getting a little painful to watch them dance around eachother like idiots.

You had grown especially close with Hiei and Kurama after being sucked into one of their demon-hunting escapades, and although the short tempered fire demon had been especially cold at first, it was nothing you hadn't dealt with before. He was just having trouble opening up to you. Kurama warned that it might take a while to get through to him.

Nonetheless, you had patience, or at least more than you did before you had stopped being a delinquent.

In reality, the group thought you were an absolute sweetheart, and even a bit of a doormat at times, but the second you lost your patience it took a while for them to convince you not to commit murder in the first degree. Even Hiei was genuinely surprised at how unnecessarily angry you could get for just an otherwise ordinary human girl, even despite your slight spiritual awareness.

Despite your temper, the group adored you, and you adored them. Kurama often joked that you were his favourite human because of the behemoth strength behind "such pretty eyes". Butterflies invaded your stomach when he said that and they never left.

The two demons especially took a liking to you, since you treated them so well, and it was obvious to everyone except you, that they were competing for you, ironically. It's like Yusuke and Keiko all over again. He's still haunted by the name you gave him. 'Useless Urameshi- What an ass.' he would think.

Uzumaki Kamaboko -- The older brother of the two. He obtained some of Kurama’s chakra from his time within the womb, and as such has the distinctive whisker marks. He’s... kind of an asshole, tbh. He likes making fun of his cousin’s god complex, and he also likes to give people subpar items while claiming they’re like, real good things. Naruto tries to keep sufficient tabs on him using Kage Bunshin, but he’s hindered by the fact that Kamaboko is really, really good at genjutsu, while his father is... not. He’s also inherited the Magnet Release from Gaara. He’s not very good at gardening but he does have a succulent on his windowsill.

Uzumaki Saboten -- The younger sister of the two. She also obtained some of Kurama’s chakra, but not to the same extent as Kamaboko, so her whiskers are fainter. She’s overall nicer than Kamaboko is towards people, and she enjoys getting hugs from her dads and her friends (Kurama likes her better than he does Kamaboko, tbh). Between her natural proclivity for it and her aunt Karin, Saboten has become a young prodigy in both fuuinjutsu and the Uzumaki Chakra Chains. She’s also taken a shine to gardening, but her dads will always have more plants than her. (They've commandeered one of Ino’s greenhouses. Someone stop this family.) Saboten also shows some ability in sand manipulation, a trait Gaara’s helping her foster.

Yu Yu Hakusho Musings, A “What-If”

I’ve never stopped loving this show, and the manga, so on occasion I’ll remember the show or be reminded of it and all the fun I had with it when I was younger.

Though, it got me back to a thought that won’t stop bugging me.

I recently decided to marathon Season 1, and the Three Artifacts Mini-Arc came and went I have to wonder what might have happened if Hiei had struck Yusuke with the Shadow Sword/Sword of Demonic Invocation/Conjuring Blade?

Why wouldn’t I already have the answer, since its power is spelled out in the show?

Because of Yusuke’s demonic ancestry. 

Refresher on what the sword does from the YuYu Hakusho wiki:

“The sword is crafted from a toxic stone, and a single scratch from this weapon transforms the victim into an E class demon; most likely a cultivated human. Only a special antidote, found in the sword's hilt, can reverse the demonification process.”

The sword has no effect upon other demons, since it impaled Kurama with nothing but a gut wound resulting.

That begs the question what would that blade have done to a human with some demon ancestry like Yusuke?

Would it still make him into an E class demon or would it have activated his demon blood?

I’m inclined to think that it might have done something of a slower conversion process of making that small drop he had increase over time, as--say--his spirit energy increased. Also, as the transformation happens, he’ll slowly gain more mazoku marks when he fights.

Also, since he had demon blood, the antidote in the sword would not reverse it. Slow it, maybe.

Negligible, at first, until he trained with Genkai. Then it might have begun to be a faster conversion process which would have gained the notice of the spirit world and Genkai herself.

Genkai states she doesn’t care who she trains during her tournament so she wouldn’t give two fucks over Yusuke’s progressing transformation beyond sealing it should it overwhelm him to prevent him from dying from something as “stupid as his own energy.” 

Two things could happen next in regards to the Spirit World: Nothing or all hell breaks loose.

All Hell Breaks Loose Option:

The Spirit World would flip their shit once they realized Yusuke was turning into a Mazoku, which would alert Raizen and this would really send the YYH storyline off onto a tangent.

If they flip, and Genkai tells them to piss off, that’s her student, and they merely fire him before getting the retired detective involved, then Raizen’s men would arrive and extract him.

This would drastically alter events from there on out.

That’s a train of thought for later.

For now, let’s go with the “Nothing” option. Let’s say Koenma calms people down and points out Yusuke is on their side. If they play it right, they could have a mazoku friendly with the spirit world and that it would be a while before Yusuke’s transformation was completed--if it would even ever fully complete.

Raizen might still take notice of his descendant but until Yusuke was fully transformed might have kept his distance and used Hokushin and his fellow subordinates to keep tabs on Yusuke, just in case.

Beyond a few fights becoming easier pre-Dark Tournament, nothing much would change for Yusuke, except maybe making a few fights not quite as terrible for him.

It would be during the Dark Tournament and the lead up that things might change.

Remember, in my little scenario, the more powerful Yusuke becomes, the faster his transformation from human to demon becomes. Meaning, lets say that pre-Dark Tournament lead up, Yusuke was the equivalent of an eighth of the way through his transformation. Then, by the time he arrives at the tournament, he’s closer it being half-done.

BTW Puu would hatch at like a half-way to that phoenix form.

The Spirit Wave Orb transfer makes that jump all the way up to three-quarters at one go. It’s versus Younger Touguro (and following Kuwabara’s faked death at the hands of Younger Touguro) that Yusuke jumps from Human to fully changed over with his first full transformation. 

Puu would also transform off on the side.

This would mean the Chapter Black arc would go mostly the same except now Yusuke is strong enough to pound Sensui into the ground without having to die--again--  plus he could control this strength and if he was in over his head, Raizen would possess him as per canon. That would really skew things making the whole ordeal less of one. Three Kings Tournament Arc would be the same-mostly.

So, while early on, it would have had some shortening effects. Beyond that? It would only really affect the Dark Tournament.

That is of course, unless the Sprit World lost their shit over Yusuke’s transformation, like they did in canon.

It’s later now.

Goes to Hell Alterations

Depending on when the shit hits the fan, Yusuke may not even ever meet Touguro. This time he wouldn’t want Yusuke as his killer with him transforming into a demon no thanks to that sword. Therefore, Touguro would be seeking out someone else to slay him. 

Yusuke’d still end up in the tournament though. Hokushin would think it’s a good idea for Yusuke to fight weaker opponents to help show him how much he’s progressed. Raizen would agree

Yusuke would fill his team with Kuawabara, Hiei, and Kurama as ususl. But this time, even though Genkai is still his teacher, she’s not a member. No Touguro-No Reason. Plus, Yusuke has access to much more powerful allies. Hokushin would fill that last slot, mostly as a last resort warrior.

The stakes are lower and by not being the spirit detective there’s less stigma against them. In fact, with him being the heir to one of the three kings, their team would become more notorious.

I think, beyond a few changes here and there, Yusuke’s team still wins.

Then Chapter Black doesn’t happen for Yusuke.

He’s not the Spirit Detective. He has no reason to be part of that.

Sensui’s Goal would still be reached. He’d still carve a tunnel from the human world into the demon world. Strong demons would flood out while the Spirit World tries to put up a new barrier.

Lots of people would die, but eventually the three Kings would get drawn into this and they’d kill Sensui.

No Three King’s Tournament.

Keiko and Yusuke would end up together, eventually (my what if, my rules, damnit!)
