so here is some art made by the iconic Kumiko Suekane which I'm sure any aa fan has seen before but nobody talks abt how she was the main character designer and what a great job she did! or how she influenced Shu Takumi on how to make Phoenix and Edgeworth's relationship dynamic more interesting (also u may know Ace Attorney was made by some creators of BL mamga, and she was one of those that had a larger influence)

I literally binged all of her Haikyuu! fanworks last night. I AM OBSESSED.

Kumiko Suekane has been such an inspiration and influence on my art for like 20 years. It's so comforting to look at her art and still feel so jazzed by it.

in some ways I hope it shows.

ok this image looks completely irrelevant but I promise it's related to ace attorney. the other day I fell down a rabbit hole on the cutting room floor and ended up on the resident evil pages. this is from the 1998 windows port of resident evil 2 and is a screen you can get for beating the game "under certain circumstances" (?) . if you're like me you saw Leon Kennedy here and went huh, he looks like Edgeworth. because he does. and then you probably looked at the style and went huh. that feels very ace attorney. because it does! I have absolutely nothing to back this up but I think that Kumiko Suekane, who I know has done design work on resident evil 2, and also designed the ace attorney trilogy characters, drew this art on this screen. I could be wrong but like so much lines up here I feel like I'm right. it would fit the timeline, the style is so reminiscent of early ace attorney, Leon literally looks like Edgeworth!! even the shadows and rendering style is exactly ace attorney. I could be wrong, and this may just be the style that capcom was using at the time and they had many artists drawing in that style, but it'd be very cool if she did draw this

These aren't set in stone or anything, more like just me thinking out loud. By no means am I trying to say my take on him is something "original" or "wow worthy", I just wanted to share my own interpretations and the reasoning behind it.

It takes a very vast amount of effort for me to be okay with gushing like this and it still feels so fucking uncomfortable...
