2023 Horror Challenge: [20/?]
↳“I wasn't striving for anything. I just wanted to make something. And I can't sit on my couch and watch t.v. or think that the internet is going to inspire me because I'm fucking thirty years old. And my parents are still giving me money. And I bore the shit out of them. And I work jobs that I hate that I have to beg to get. Do you know what it means to be broke? It means that you are broken. That you don't work.“ Dave Made a Maze (2017) dir. Bill Watterson
Plot: Dave, an artist who has yet to complete anything significant in his career, builds a fort in his living room out of pure frustration, only to wind up trapped by the fantastical pitfalls, booby traps, and critters of his own creation.
Starring: Nick Thune, Meera Rohit Kumbhani & Adam Busch
Okay, finally a movie where I'm gonna stay positive in a review!! lol This watch was such a bizarre one, in the best kinda way. It was so fun and creative as a concept that I couldn't help but to admire the execution of it all. Horror comedies are my go-to so it's no surprise I was gonna be the target audience for it. It's pretty funny throughout imo, just as whacky as you might expect the humor to be for a movie with this kinda idea. I kinda love how it just jumps right in with his girlfriend discovering what Dave did and her really not getting that he's stuck in his maze, having no idea from the outside what's going on in it before exploring it to save him. Enter the rest of the cast who all add a little something as well, in particular Adam Busch, who had me laughing as Gordon. I rather like how they chose to handle the violence because it truly fit the vibe of the whole thing and felt very fresh. Because otherwise it could have been really gory and possibly been a little off-putting with the rest of the movie. But I dug this little strange flick, quite honestly. It committed to its concept, which I really appreciated. I was entertained. That's all I really hoped for when I clicked play because I truly had no idea what I was in beforehand. It's a hidden gem imo.

Inside Story: How BJP's Tactical Move Secured Victory in Surat
Have you ever wondered about the intricate strategies and behind-the-scenes actions that shape election outcomes? The recent events in Surat Lok Sabha constituency provide a fascinating glimpse into the political maneuvering that can alter the course of an election.
It all began with a seemingly routine objection raised by Dinesh Jodhani, the BJP candidate's agent, regarding the signatures on the nomination papers of Nilesh Kumbhani, the Congress nominee, and Suresh Padsala, a dummy candidate of the same party. Jodhani alleged that the signatures had been forged, setting off a chain of events that ultimately led to the declaration of BJP candidate Mukesh Dalal as the winner without contest.
What followed was a meticulously orchestrated sequence of actions. Affidavits disowning the signatures on Kumbhani and Padsala's nomination forms surfaced, duly notarized by a member of the Surat City BJP legal cell. Kiran Ghoghari, the legal cell member, clarified that he had assisted the proposers in disowning the signatures purely in a professional capacity, charging a fee higher than his usual rate.
The crux of the matter lay in the validity of the signatures. Kumbhani had submitted signatures of his relatives and associates as his proposers, but objections raised by the BJP agent led to a special hearing conducted by Saurabh Parghi, the District Election Officer and Collector of Surat. The proposers, who were initially reported missing, later surfaced and affirmed on camera that they had not signed the nomination forms.
Despite attempts by Kumbhani to argue discrepancies and even alleging the kidnapping of his proposers, the evidence presented by the BJP's legal team proved compelling enough for Parghi to reject the Congress nomination.
Interestingly, amidst the political drama, a photograph of Abdul Hamid Khan, a candidate who withdrew from the race, alongside Gujarat BJP chief CR Paatil circulated on social media. Khan clarified that his decision to withdraw was voluntary, devoid of any external pressure, and his interaction with Paatil was merely a customary photo-op.
The unfolding events in Surat underscore the intricate dynamics and tactical maneuvers that often determine electoral outcomes. Behind the scenes, legal scrutiny, strategic objections, and political alliances shape the narrative, ultimately influencing the course of democracy.
In the end, Surat was won not just by the declaration of a candidate as elected unopposed, but by the careful orchestration of legal procedures and political strategies, showcasing the power of meticulous planning in the realm of electoral politics.

Dave Made a Maze (Visual Diary-4)
The Brazilian adventure and horror film "Dave Made a Maze" was released in 2017. Looking at the poster in general, typographic arrangements evoke a child's inner world. At first glance, it may be thought that the poster, where typographic arrangements are in the foreground, does not include a human figure. However, when the poster is examined in detail, it is noticed that the figure of the child, which seems to have disappeared in the image that creates the impression of the attic, climbs from the stairs to a compartment. Details such as a chimney, staircase, and room to support the appearance of the attic or house are included. The typeface chosen for "Dave Made a Maze" on the poster reflects a sense of adventure and mystery, while the texture of the typeface refers to the figure of a child.
The directional arrows, directional lettering, sharp wheels, and dark areas used in the poster and the patch, gutter, and ladder visuals in the cardboard used in the texture of the font make it easier to evoke the subject and genre of the film. In this movie poster, it can be concluded that typographic elements are read and perceived comfortably. It can be said that visual elements and typographic arrangement are in harmony.

Polis BitConnect kurucusunu Her Yerde arıyor! Ne için?
Hintli yetkililer, Bitcoin ( BTC ) içeren bir dolandırıcılık nedeniyle kripto yatırım protokolü BitConnect Satish Kumbhani'nin kurucusunu arıyorlar. Polis BitConnect kurucusunu arıyor! Neden?
