i see you pal...the being obsessed with a villain voiced by Vincent Price to being obsessed with a villain voiced by John Waters pipeline is real. we just like our sleazy older baddies 🙈🥰
You wanna know what the wildest part is?
Rolando isn't even the worst case of simping I've had (or will have).
Oh make no mistake, this fucker has haunted my thoughts to the point that he might as well as be possessing me (one of my favorite kinks), as you've likely already deduced from all the likes and replies I've left on all the posts about him. Because you're right, the Vincent Price to John Waters pipeline is real and I only just found out about the latter cuz of the legendary Divine, who I only know about thanks to the legendary Ursula.
A childhood based on Disney leads down interesting paths, it seems.
And yes, Rolando's design, both human and demon, is immaculate.
But what really makes me wild over him?
His lore implications. Because I am a SLUT for worldbuilding.
This filthy, old, manipulative, classist dick of a fish man is the biggest and realest taste of what the Envy Ring has to offer that we have gotten yet from this show. Oh yes, we've already gotten glimpses of Envy's classism and bigotry from Glim and Glam (M4S2) and that Karen mom and her kid (Western Energy), but Rolando here gave us the whole package.
And I love that!
He makes me wanna see more of the unfairness and injustice that the main cast has to put up with. I need more characters who represent Hell's prejudices and see how Blitz and his crew rise above and prove those asshats wrong.
Because this is what one Infestor Demon is like. Imagine a whole group of them.
Or better yet, imagine what Leviathan is like! Cuz Vivzie made it clear in a post way back that we will be seeing them soon - and that prospect has been plaguing my mind every since.
HOWEVER...
As titillating as Rolando is, he doesn't quite make me foam at the mouth.
For you see, there are two other things Ratigan also has that our putrid fish dom lacks: muscles and, more importantly for me, rage.
Cuz me? I've got a bit of a temper myself, so I tend to be more naturally drawn to characters linked to anger in some way (Ratigan, Kratos, Megatron, Raphael, Rocket Raccoon, etc.).
Also, I have a weakness for beefcakes.
Now in Rolo's defense, he's quite nimble in his old age, being able to keep up with Blitz and Millie who the show's gone great lengths to show us are no slouches in combat, so clearly the old timer's got a bit of muscle on that wiry frame.
And while I wouldn't mind Rolando "borrowing" me for a spell, I would not make shit easy for him the moment he starts spewing all them prejudiced jabs at me. He wanna break me like that, he gonna have to work for it.
So, yeah, we'd be boxing and fucking (even though I'd clearly lose in the end).
Now Satan on the other hand...
If you think Rolando and John Waters are messing my brain chemistry up, oh honey, just wait until Patrick Page comes knocking as Satan with his booming ass voice.
None of you will recognize me once the Big Daddy of Wrath comes upon us!

The labyrinth is finally open! No fear of death of serious injury, just people putting their adventuring skills to the test and trying to collect loot money. Not a bad premise and definitely a potential big tourist attraction for tempest. But never let Ramiris cook with the floor design again 😂
Also is that fucking Kratos?!
It was cool seeing Eren, Gaiye and the others different approaches to navigating the labyrinth. Slow and steady wins the race I guess lol. Can’t wait to see what things look like when it’s fully open and you have dozens of adventure groups in there at once. Lowkey could be a cool Tensura spin off idea. Like having someone challenge the dungeon with the idea of taking on Rimuru and making a name for themselves
I can tell you that Gaiye won’t be disrespecting a dryad again.. idk what he was thinking being an asshole to her, but he def learnt a lesson
The tempest festival was a massive success but the bill has literally come due. Now time to see how we’re gonna pay all these people 😂

Once upon a time I had a Tales of Symphonia OC called Reimi.
It was the early noughties. I was a teenager obsessed with 2 things - Tales of Symphonia and Full Metal Alchemist. I had seen on my favourite website at the time; DeviantART, that people would sometimes self-insert themselves into their favourite shows/games and even though I'd thought about it before, I loved these two things so much I finally decided to do the same and 'Reimi' was born.
She was my ideal version of how I looked and because I was being bullied almost every day at school, the world of Symphonia in particular was a great comfort to me. Anytime I had a particularly bad day I started to draw Reimi.
I did have one real life friend, my best friend from primary school and we'd chat on the phone every night. I convinced her to play ToS with me and the two of us fell down this rabbit hole and I made her an OC too. We called her Beatrix and she was Reimi's older sister. It was your typical 'human girls fall into fantasy world and crush on their favourite character' story. I liked Lloyd and my friend liked Kratos. We would roleplay them together and write stories for each others birthdays and Christmases. It got me through the horrible things happening at school.
In time we started to make other characters. I decided I wanted Reimi to have a summon spirit - a polar bear called Meikai who could change between human and bear form. My friend had a similar 'devil' summon, Kainashi and I started to draw them as well. (Totally stole this from Sheena but it was very fun)
The final character we designed was Harvey - he was the only one we tried to give a canonical link to Symphonia. He was the Prince of the Tethe'allan royal family and Hilda's brother. The reason you never saw him in the game, we reasoned, was because he didn't want to be a Prince and left to travel the world in secret. He runs into our heroines and becomes a part of the group. I also wanted to write some love triangle stories at that point so he has a crush on Reimi.
For a long time these characters were my whole life. They filled my brain and I would always be thinking of stories for them. The ToS characters always factored into these stories but I was too embarrassed to draw them or have anything romantic happening and that might have been because of the backlash I saw a lot of self-insert authors get. I kept my stories mostly off the internet.
But I kept drawing them as the years went on, even designing bosses and creatures for them to fight, this was one such creature - 'Malcolm' the robot. One of Rodyle's machines.
In time life got in the way. My friend and I didn't get to speak as much so the drawing motivation started to fizzle out.
I still thought and cared about these characters but there was no fresh ideas forming for them. As I got older I started to have less time for them.
This is the last drawing I ever made of them and though you might still see me draw Reimi from time to time, its been years since I drew any of the others.
I did use them for animation practise on my University course though
youtube
So that's where we are today. I had a lot of AUs for Reimi. You may have seen this potion shop picture before, it's one of my favourite ideas where Reimi is living in the slums in Meltokio, working to keep her family's store open by selling potions. It even got a Daily Deviation on deviantART! I'm sure most people didn't know it was a self-insert drawing.
Another idea I liked was Reimi being the daughter of Kvar. She's grown up in the human ranches (though largely away from their brutality) and Lloyd's group visit is a wake-up call to her that what her father and Cruxis are doing may be wrong.
I came up with way too many stories to list here.. but uh... maybe I did draw some Reimi/Lloyd art occassionally...
and thats all you're gonna see!!
Anyway I just wanted to revisit these characters since I've been doing that with my books this month. Maybe you already knew about this, maybe you didn't!! It's just a fun look into my teenage self. I am trying to draw a new outfit for Reimi now, to see how much I've improved drawing her. I hope I can post it soon.
Thanks for reading!
#well part of me wants to immediately delete this post HAHA#but i said i would do a lore dump for my ToS OCs and here we are#reimi#beatrix#meikai#kainashi#prince harvey#myart#original characters#Youtube

Yesterday I played a 2k game against a friend of mine :3
I was ultramarines (his models) and he was necrons (his own stuff)
my list comprised of
Guilliman
Marneus Calgar
Apothecary biologis
2x Librarian in Phobos (1x fire discipline)
Librarian in termie
Techmarine
Heavy intercessors
Eliminators
Infiltrators
Suppressors
Termie Ass. Squad
Mario kart (invader atv)
Kratos tank
Redemptor dread
Bringing it to a total of 1995 points B3
He brought a list of uhhhhh necrons loll
(Some proxies in there, with def not a dread and helbrecht)
The game itself was interesting because the rules were the deployment zones were split to the table corners with two per player with it alternating so I had bottom left and top right corner. You would designate one as alpha and the other omega, then when deploying the unit you roll a d6 (1-3 alpha, 4-6 omega).
So for deployment, PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING WAS PUT ON ALPHA WITH GUILLIMAN ON OMEGA ALONE WITH SUPPRESSORS
luckily I had some units with infiltrate that I put on the side of guilliman to help him out a bit.
Meanwhile my friend had a good balance of units on each zone . ..
On turn 1 I ended up going first , which is what I wanted. I made the destroyers with dmg 6 my oath of moment target and ended up wiping it and the void dragon as my second oath target.
On his turn 1 he did some damage on my dread (6 wounds taken) and he moved his ctan void dragon and I overwatched the kratos and did 5 damage on him. And the void dragon did some damage on my ass. termies and I removed them in a way that made his charge a 12’ charge which he failed. On the other side he moved his warriors closer to guilliman.
On turn 2 I moved up more units to the objective near the alpha deployment zone for me. And had the void dragon killed through a bit of shooting and the void dragon exploded , which killed his doomsday ark and destroyed my dreadnought ;;
On the other side I went into the assault doctrine to advance and charge guilliman and the infiltrators and librarian into the warrior blob. I made the charge and spent a command point for precision on guilliman to kill the overlord. I used the emperors sword (14 a, 8, -2, 2) and ~11 attacks went through and 1 deb wound.
..THE OVERLORD SURVIVED !!
that guy is ANNOYING
He has a 4+ invuln, 4+ fnp, 6 wounds and for 1 com point he can come back to life after being killed 💀💀
(Guilliman and the warrior/overlord were tied in combat for 4 turns in total lmaoo)
By turn 3 we were trading units, with him taking more losses than me but in points it was going 9 for me and 17 for him. It was so over for me, or rather I thought it was lost.
However on turn 4 THINGS TURNED
At this point I was able to move most of my units from alpha deployment into 3 objectives and guilliman and his group killing enough to out compete the warrior oc for that obj. So in primaries I scored max and in secondaries I got investigate signals and assassinate, AND I SCORED MAX FOR THAT TOO BRINGING ME UP 30 POINTS
at that point it was going like 43 to 31 in my favor with him having less and less units on objs.
We stopped at the top of turn 5 with me having units on 4 in of the 5 objs, the overlord finally dying , and him having only 2 units left. It was a pretty fun game that I couldn’t have guessed to have ended with me winning pretty good at the start with it going like 60-something to 30-something in my favor.
I typically play black templar with heavy emphasis on melee so it was diff playing primarily shooting and using librarians for once loll.
(Hopefully I remember to actually take more pictures next time I decide to do this again loll :3 )

Dogs in the Snow [Park Jung Soo - Leeteuk x FemOC Freya]
A short fanfic with a female OC.
Featuring K-Actor Hong Jong Hyun and SUPER JUNIOR's leader Leeteuk (Park Jung Soo).
Freya waves to the armchair by the fireplace to invite him to sit down.
Hong Jong Hyun, South Korean actor she befriended half a year ago, takes a seat with his typical bright teeth wolf like smile. He’s the very embodiment of fitness and good nature. And also a player and thief of hearts. Freya would never think she will find a common ground with such a man but Jong Hyun’s cheerful spirit is difficult to fight. He decided to become friends with her and so that happened. His stubbornness can match her own. After all what happened she couldn’t deny the little spark of joy from his visit.
“What brings you here, Jong Hyun?” Freya asks as she is pouring tea into delicate tea cups. This isn’t her house. It belongs to Victoria, Freya’s sister who got married to Cha Hak Yeon, leader of South Korean group VIXX. Their marriage is a happy one and Victoria is currently overflowing with health and good spirit from her pregnancy. She will soon give birth to three children! Nobody could doubt Hak Yeon’s prolificacy. And his generosity and care were undeniable as well. Shortly after the marriage Hak Yeon purchased a piece of land in a prominent part of Seoul and he personally participated in designing the new house to be built there for his wife and future family. It’s all finished now. And Victoria made sure to turn the place into a proper home and aristocratic mansion by hiring servants. Victoria and Freya are from a very old noble family originating in Rigantona. Victoria was born to become a real mistress of a large mansion, she was supposed to marry a noble man from an old respectable family and live the life of a true lady. However Victoria was never a gentle and weak soul and she chose her own path and married an idol from the far east.
When Freya was struck with another misfortune, Victoria and Hak Yeon insisted on her coming to Seoul and living in their house.
“How are you feeling, Freya?” Jong Hyun asks and he watches her carefully. Her hands are slightly shaking while pouring the tea. She is dressed in white – long white silken tunic with silver embroidery and soft white loose fit trousers. She’s wearing a flexible wide white band on her head putting her long wavy dark brown hair away from her baby blue eyes. Jong Hyun is worried in his mind. When he met Freya for the first time, she was already slender and her eyes were lifeless like the eyes of a porcelain doll. Jong Hyun could see she was even more bony and lifeless now. She looked pale and sick, sad and joyless.
Freya puts the teapot down and hands him one of the cups. She takes the other and sits in an armchair next to him. “How would you expect for me to feel, Jong Hyun?” Freya inhales sharply and sips from the cup.
“I don’t know, to be frank. You are a mysterious woman, Freya.” Jong Hyun bends and rubs the head of one of Hak Yeon’s dogs. He’s got three of them, male Rottweilers named after VIXX’s albums – Kratos, Zelos and Hades. They were a gift from Freya's other sister, veterinarian Calliope. Jong Hyun could never tell the dogs apart but Hak Yeon loved them as if they were his children and could recognise them easily in the dark.
“I keep no secrets from you.” Freya reacts openly.
“Then tell me this: Do you eat regularly?”
Her hand freezes in the middle of a move and she shuts her eyes. Her lips bitterly curve. “Is this why you came? To criticise and lecture me like everybody else in this house already does?” Freya opens her eyes and gives Jong Hyun a sharp stare.
“Of course not, Freya! I’m just worried about you…”
“There is no need for that. You’re not responsible for me, Jong Hyun.”
“What is it, Freya? Tell me what is troubling you?” Jong Hyun refuses to give up. When they became friends they promised absolute honesty to each other. They promised to always be true to each other, no matter how uncomfortable it might be. Jong Hyun counts on that now. He hopes for Freya to keep her word and tell him the truth.
Freya sighs and puts the tea cup on a table. Her hand shakes a bit and the tea gets spilt on the surface. She moans and wants to pick a napkin to wipe it but Jong Hyun is faster.
“I got it. Relax, Freya.” He says and cleans the table.
Freya makes an annoyed noise and she leans back deeper into the armchair. She is chafing her hands. They look normal but Jong Hyun knows everything about what happened. “This happens all the time now. I’m so useless!” Freya nearly whispers, her voice is angry.
“Don’t say that. You are not useless. You are the smartest person I know.” Jong Hyun grabs her hand and squeezes it lightly to assure her about his support. “It will get well soon. This isn’t a permanent state.”
“That’s the trouble, Jong Hyun. It is permanent.”
“I know you lost a lot…”
“I lost everything. Completely everything, Jong Hyun. And I’m exhausted. I’m just… so tired, Jong Hyun. I feel like I have lived several lives already. I have no more energy. All I want is to fall asleep and never wake up.”
Jong Hyun inhales sharply and squeezes her hand harder as she gets frightened. “Freya!”
“Calm down,” Freya waves her hand and shakes head. “I’m not going to try to kill myself. Not again. I won’t put my sisters through that again. However I have no intention to fight. I’m done fighting. I have learned my lesson and I know I can’t win.”
“Freya, don’t talk like that. I hate to see you like this.”
“Broken? But that’s how I feel. I have to be honest with you, remember? And to answer your question, no, I don’t eat regularly. I have no appetite. Victoria and Hak Yeon are trying but… I appreciate their care. I wish I could show more gratitude.”
“I’m sure they don’t expect your gratitude. They love you and want you to be happy.”
“They will be disappointed then.” Freya retorts and slips her hand out of his grip.
Jong Hyun wishes to cheer her up. This woman experienced too much bad luck in her life. She deserves to be happy, she deserves to feel joy and to find a new meaning of life. Unfortunately he can’t figure out how to achieve that. “Freya, come for a walk with me.”
“What?”
“Let’s take the dogs for a walk, what do you think? I know a park nearby. Fresh air will give you some appetite.”
“Jong Hyun… I have no mood for people.”
“It’s -10°C and 9 in the evening. I will be surprised if we meet one or two desperate dog walkers out there. Come on, Freya. Let’s go for a walk like in Cornwall. Hmm? Do me the favour, Freya.”
Freya looks into his eyes. It’s difficult to say no to this man. He’s got a certain boyish charm, the untainted and little bit naive soul. Freya has been through too much and she lost this kind of cheerful spirit. However she would never be so cruel to crush the joy in somebody else. She nods lightly. “Very well, Jong Hyun. I will dress warmly, give me ten minutes.” She stands up followed by him.
Jong Hyun brightens up immediately. “Take your time. Where do you keep leashes for these beasts?” He asks while rubbing the three dogs again.
“They hang in the hall by the coats. Excuse me.” Freya leaves and walks up the stairs. She enters her bedroom and changes into thick white velvet trousers and a long white turtleneck. She makes sure to cover the hideous scar on her neck. She goes to the main hall, Jong Hyun is already waiting there with excited Rottweilers tugging the leashes. Hak Yeon is standing next to him.
“Freya! I’m glad you go for a walk but don’t stay out for long. It’s freezing, I don’t want you to catch a cold.” Hak Yeon grabs a long white coat with fake black fur on it’s collar and bottom rim and on the sleeve rim. He holds it for Freya and then hands her a fake black fur hat. She puts it on her head and reaches black leather gloves.
“I will come back soon, Hak Yeon. Don’t worry.” She takes one leash from Jong Hyun and they walk out the house.
The weather is truly cold. The snow is cracking under their feet as they walk. Street lamps make the ice crystals sparkle like glitters. Jong Hyun grabs the two leashes in one hand and offers Freya an arm for her to hook in it. She smiles mildly and does as he wants.
“It’s not over, you gotta know that.” He pronounces with a calm reassuring voice. “You can still be happy.”
Freya cringes. “I admire your optimism but I have no intention to pursue happiness any more. Some people are born for happiness like my sister and some are born to…” Freya cuts the sentence and shakes her head. “It doesn’t matter. I don’t want to discuss this. Would you mind changing the topic?”
“Of course not! What would you like to talk about?”
Freya looks at him with serious eyes. “Have you heard from Isis?” She asks shyly.
Jong Hyun smirks. “Now it’s my turn for hurtful conversation, I see.”
“We don’t have to talk about her, if you don’t want to.” Freya assures him promptly.
“It’s okay. There is nothing much to say. I have sent her many emails with no response from her.” Jong Hyun refers to Freya’s sister who is an explosive expert serving in the army. She is in Afghanistan at the moment together with her two explosive sniffing dogs, Malinois shepherds called Fenris and Cerberos. Jong Hyun met her in Cornwall last September and he fell in love with her unexpectedly. Unfortunately he made a fatal mistake and vexed her a great deal. She didn’t let him explain and apologise and left for Afghanistan. He sends her emails ever since, trying to explain, to apologise, to gain her trust back. However Isis hasn't replied to a single mail he sent. She ignores him and that hurts Jong Hyun. He misses her still. He never felt anything like this to any woman before. It’s confusing.
“She is in the mountains with poor connection.”
“I doubt that there wasn’t a single opportunity to write to me back during those months, Freya. But thanks for trying. I have to accept the reality. She will never forgive me.”
“I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you two.”
They arrive at the park and unleash the dogs to let them run freely. Jong Hyun pulls a tennis ball out of his pocket and throws it to the dogs for them to fetch it. They run after it but only one of them catches it first and gives it back to Jong Hyun. Freya has a thick rope with her and gives it to the other two dogs. They start to pull the two ends of it and they growl fiercely. It’s obvious they are just playing but for any stranger it might look dangerous. The park is abandoned and quiet, Jong Hyun was right about the time and weather being unsuitable for most people to go outside. Freya truly can breathe free now.
Suddenly they hear high pitched barking and a cute little white dog wearing a coat runs towards the Rottweilers. They notice it and stop playing with the toys and run to the little dog barking deeply and fiercely. Freya senses trouble because her dogs look terrifying and the owner of the little dog might get a wrong impression.
“Shimkung!” Freya and Jong Hyun hear a male voice.
“Kratos, Zelos, Hades! Stop!” Freya calls with a strong authoritative voice and the Rottweilers stop on the spot. “Sit!” Freya orders and the dogs obey.
The little white dog arrives and barks at the Rottweilers and jumps with excitement.
Freya comes closer. “Look at you! Where is your owner, little one?” Freya takes off one of her gloves, bends down and lets the little dog sniff her hand. It licks her fingers and wigs its tail. “Come to me.” Freya picks the dog up into her arms.
“Shimkung! Where are you? Come to daddy! Shimkung!”
“We are here!” Jong Hyun calls and they can see a man running to them. The Rottweilers get alerted and stand up ready to protect their mistress.
“Oh thank God! Shimkung!” The man approaches Freya, his eyes fixed to the dog in her arms. The Rottweilers growl to warn him and he stops looking at them concerned. “Dear, dear!”
“Don’t worry, they don’t bite.” Jong Hyun puts the Rottweilers on leashes. “Well, technically they do bite, they are guard dogs but they only act on special command, so you are safe.” Jong Hyun ads with a smirk. “Come here, boys.” He pulls the dogs to the side. “Hey! I know you!” Jong Hyun calls as he recognises the man. “You’re Park Jung Soo!”
The man smiles kindly and a dimple appears on his cheek. “That’s correct. Nice to meet you.” He shakes hands with Jong Hyun.
“I’m Hong Jong Hyun and this is Dr. Freya Arran.”
Jung Soo bows to Freya and she gives him his dog. “How do you do, sir?”
“Thank you for finding my little girl.” Jung Soo cuddles his dog lovingly.
“It’s nothing, really.” She turns to Jong Hyun. “We should go back.”
“True, Hak Yeon will kill me if you catch a cold.” Smiles Jong Hyun.
“Cha Hak Yeon?” Asks Jung Soo. “VIXX leader?”
“Yes, he’s my brother-in-law. It was a pleasure to meet you, Park Jung Soo. Have a nice evening.” Freya hooks her arm into Jong Hyun’s again and they walk slowly back towards home.
“Goodnight, miss Arran!” Jung Soo calls.
“You have no idea who he is, right?” Giggles Jong Hyun as they are out of Jung Soo’s sight.
“Should I know him?”
“Park Jung Soo, or Leeteuk by his stage name, is a Super Junior leader. He’s a living legend in kpop.” Explains Jong Hyun.
“Good for him. But I don’t know what you expect from me.”
“I was just saying, nothing more. He seemed enchanted by you, by the way.”
Freya frowns at Jong Hyun. “Nonsense. Why do you always make such wild stories up?”
“I’m not making it up. Didn’t you notice how he stared at you?”
“That’s ridiculous. I wish you would stop saying such things, it’s very inappropriate.”
“You start talking like a Downton Abbey character again.” Moans Jong Hyun.

The picture-perfect Asgardian family
Keep reading for headcanons and design choices!
The Aesir: An incredibly diverse group of big cats, all with godly powers. Interestingly, males are unable to grow manes, but long-furred pelts are common in place of them. (NOTE: Kratos also does not have a mane, but this is in no relation to the Aesir; it was genetic from one of his mortal ancestors). They all have saber teeth, a symbol of old power and generally a status symbol when in the presence of other Aesir or mortals.
Thor: Thor is one of the only Aesir gods that has a mane due to his Giant genes, which he then passed on to his children. Size-wise, he is more like a Smilodon than a lion with his impressive height and strength. His hammer is more of a meta-physical thing; he can summon it, swing it, and then have it disappear until he needs it again (think of the armiger in FFXV). Thor hardly resembles Odin in any way; his red/brown pelt comes from his mother.
Sif: The mate of Thor and Odin’s diplomat. Sif has long fur around her neck, but it is not to be mistaken for a mane; she simply has long fur (we see her hair is long in-game, and I wanted to reflect that).
Thrud: Thanks to her father’s genes, she grew a partial mane (Giants have incredibly strong mane genes, as we will see with Faye, Angrboda, and Gryla. Atreus, only being part Giant, still has a way to go with his mane). She is smaller than her brothers, but much faster.
Modi: Like his model, Modi gets most of his characteristics from Thor, but has colorations like Sif. Now, the elephant in the room: how does Atreus kill Modi if he’s got that Giant’s grade-A mane in the way? That would be thanks to his knife. Atreus has a small sheath he carries around his neck during the events of the first game, and it is positioned in such a way he can grab it with his paws (no bows and arrows in this AU though!). Manes are good protection, but unfortunately for Modi, it was not enough.
Magni: He takes after his mother with his pelt colors, but has patterns seen on his father.

I just finished God of War Ragnarok, and I wondered what your thoughts on it were? I loved all the little callbacks to the first one throughout the game
I hope you enjoyed it, anon!
I really enjoyed my playthrough right until I hit post game and the combat really started to piss me off. It was a bit disappointing. It's not unique to Ragnarok, I had similar issues with the combat in 2018, but the fact Ragnarok had so many moving pieces to its combat (4 weapons, if you count barehand/fists, and different amulets and two arrow sets, and artifacts, and such an emphasis on special effects in armor sets... etc.) really made the places where battles became essentially puzzles with very specific answers, and if you're not willing to meet the game in its own terms, you're gonna have a Bad Time. My bone with gear-based combat is that it reaches a point where your skill level doesn't matter. Your understanding of mechanics and combat doesn't matter. If you're not geared up appropriately, the game will not let you through, or will make the experience excruciatingly obnoxious. I found the valkyrie fights, and specifically Sigrun, to be one of the best combat experiences in a game, because it became... a conversation, of sorts. I did not feel that way, about a lot of combat encounters in Ragnarok. Some of the berserkers were incredibly infuriating because it seemed like anything I tried to respond with resulted in a loud "NO, WRONG! TRY AGAIN!" from the game, because I wasn't spec'd properly, and I mostly ended up overleveling to tank damage and get through some of the toughest fights. The fight with Gna was frankly disappointing, when compared with Sigrun, because it had a lot more about status effects and pushing towards specific needs in your gear load out to make your way through it. Which to be perfectly fair, it's a logical extension of the original gear-based combat in 2018, it's just not one I particularly enjoy.
That's about the only thing I didn't like about the game. Everything else?
Holy fuck.
The music, the visual compositions, the camera work... I've heard quite a few criticisms about rushed writing, but I think the writing of the entire game is superb. I think it's definitely much more effective than 2018's - I think the "Atreus goes mad with power" sections of 2018 are pretty maligned and often blown out of proportion, but Ragnarok definitely doesn't have a section like that. I think the writing reveals a deep understanding of the component blocks of each character and a clear, chartered plan to where they're going. I love that the twists are very well setup and you can actually call them if you're detail oriented (@darkpuck clocked The Spoiler in my streams over an accent mark!) and that the development feels like pay off. Most of the story and writing in this game is just. Aggressively to my taste. People in my streams called out that Kratos echoes a lot of my personal choices writing characters like Cor and like... yeah! Yeah! He's pure Rie-nip. It's great.
The music is absolutely gorgeous and works fantastically well with the visual design. I love the care put into every bit of everything that appears on screen. There's a lot of love and thoughtfulness put into every aspect of this world, distinct design that creates tiny dialects and languages across the different groups of people, the different cultures. I specially loved the way the team clearly knew the mythology, and every specific choice they made, that changed or contradicted the mythology, was done purposefully and with enough build up that it felt like a fucking wink. It was amazing.
I'm going to be having feelings about Kratos, Freya and Mimir wandering the realms and having adventures and figuring out shit for approximately forever. It was a GOOD game. (I just got really salty about the post game combat.)
Speaking of callbacks, the way the most important scenes in the entire game reuse dialogue from the previous one, but fundamentally changing its meaning in the process just... GodDAMN.
I seethe with envy and jealousy at the master skill on display.

Unnecessarily Elaborate Critical Thinking About God of War
Greek Pantheon Kratos jams a gate with a living woman to get to the other side (she wasn't a combatant, wasn't a monster, wasn't directly related to the conflict, and probably didn't deserve what happened to her).
Norse Pantheon Kratos spends the entire second game accommodating his travel companion's special needs (look how he brings Mimir up from his belt and holds him in hand from the custom made sling he built to more stably and comfortably hold his head from, for any moment or thing of interest, even just some writing on a monument, wall, or stone tablet).
I understand why some people have problems with how massive the shift was. It still makes sense, and was still a cool high-level-writing direction for the franchise to go in. I can honestly say I have no regret that the story went in that direction.
I can still say I regret the loss of the original series' heart of bombastic, mob-clearing gameplay across sprawling cinematic and active set pieces as if life is one giant action flick and we are the metronome it times to.
That said, it was never just action at play, in the series. It was also drama, and that's been well preserved. I just feel that the game developers were too caught up in the modern game design doctrines that FromSoft and the many great indies that followed them turned into the new standard. A template where every enemy is capable of ending you, even the most basic and weak can single-handedly dispatch you, because the point of the gameplay is to reward martial skill with survival-
That's just the thing. The God of War should not be struggling to survive a group of bandits. Not under any normal circumstance. The failure in the Norse saga team's design was that in following the dramatic side too heavily, we lose the spectacle and glory of facing off against the literal mythology of the world you're playing through. The camera is down and intimate with our protagonist to emphasize the newfound importance of people in the eyes of our stoic Dad of Boy, and that's good, but making each encounter significantly smaller than the hordes Kratos fought in the original series brought an unavoidable lowering of the sense of scale and stakes.
This is particularly apparent in Ragnarok, for the record. The intro fight with Baldur, interacting with Jormungandr, unlocking the temple of Tyr, The undead giant in the final boss sequence, those were great and added some of that much needed spectacle. Smaller harder battle segments still injured the vibe, but it felt more forgivable when Kratos was still throwing entire buildings around when needed.
The sequel is where things got bad. There weren't many particularly impressive set pieces, and most of the enormous living things we encountered were non-hostile. The gods, too, were robbed of scale. Can you honestly say the fight against Odin felt different from a battle with a particularly powerful wizard of no greater significance? And Thor, his character was about being washed up, but seriously, aside from the storm he arrived in during his first appearance, he was just a strong guy with electric flavored normal attacks. If it weren't for the names slapped onto this cast, I feel like I could forget that these are gods warring at the end of the world rather than mid-tier superheroes on this month's hair-raising serialized climax!
That's the only true pity I feel about where the modern games have gone. It's great, and I like it... but don't forget your roots, or you'll leave behind some of the original fans, too. As we've already seen happening.

This is the one where kratos is shopping and carrying the carriage is really liking too much because I'm not massive but I'm a warrior and kind of a lot of attention and he keeps shopping and that's actually his name in Russia and he shared it with his brother and he can go back and do things and I'll tell you what this is some weird s*** and scary but very cool and real and it's going to come out so he says I have to be at least a certain size when I go to spain so I can go to Russia. I don't believe it but this is going to take off everything's going to change
Dave this is my version and it says closer than is uncle
It's much closer and I'm too small and his physique is for correct and he's right and these guys are strong they're strong for their size and if physically says it's because of how they're built and it really is true
The Rock
I have to tell you I need to stop messing up my songs it looked perfectly fine in Russia it's not a hard luck and you can have your body molded my food and it's really helpful but boy this will be fun starting to see what you're saying this is terrible
Ken
There's a lot of death here and this is an odd time to be mentioning Russia but that's what's happening and it's about the war with back proper and they seem to be into this and they probably are because it's a British car and he came up with it and made the max famous sort of these guys are taking the weight but it came out slowly but it really had nothing to do with the car but they like it
Thor Freya
This is actually kind of cool because supercar Blondie is the sister of Queen Elizabeth II and it's perfect and it's amazing job for hers the right age group but wow it was an amazing car and we're going to have to keep a lookout for it I guess that's what we're up to
Mac proper
I have to get going on this he wants me to try and retrofit a old taxi from the show to be a fly car and that's going to be great lodka was his brother and it's going to keep me on it. Okay vodka it's kind of ridiculous he helped design the viper and he designed his own sat in it in the very car he designed it says he thinks it's the one in the movie and someone is stealing it by having it sink in that movie James Bond and that's crazy s*** and it looks real I got to tell you I saw the stage for it too but it's a little different this is going to be awesome I can't believe it

Target Drones: Flying High in Military Training or Just Another Buzz in the Sky?
In a world where military training meets the cutting edge of technology, enter the realm of target drones — unmanned aerial vehicles designed to make military exercises as real as binge-watching a suspenseful TV series. But hold on, before you start imagining a swarm of flying robots taking over the skies, let’s dive into the not-so-robotic details of the Global Target Drone Market.
Bulls-Eye Numbers: The Market at a Glance
So, what’s the buzz in the drone world? The Global Target Drone Market, valued at a cool USD 4.50 billion in 2022, is gearing up for a thrilling rollercoaster ride, set to reach a jaw-dropping USD 8.56 billion by 2031. Now, that’s what we call a financial takeoff at a 7.4% CAGR. Someone’s definitely aiming for the stars, or in this case, the military skies.
Who’s Ruling the Drone Dominion?
Picture this: Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Northrop Grumman Corporation, QinetiQ Group plc, and Airbus SE strutting their stuff in the drone market catwalk. These key players aren’t just winging it; they’re flexing their expertise in UAV technology, making sure our military is on top of its game. Because, let’s face it, when it comes to military training, there’s no room for half-baked maneuvers.
Target Drones: More than Just a High-Flying Spectacle
Why the drone drama, you ask? Military forces worldwide are on a mission — a mission for realistic and cost-effective training exercises. Target drones, also known as thespians in the training theater, simulate enemy aircraft or missiles, turning military training into a blockbuster performance. It’s like Top Gun, but without Tom Cruise — and with a remote control.
Taking Flight: The Market Dynamics
As we navigate through the drone-filled skies, it’s clear that military modernization, UAV technology advancements, and a hunger for enhanced military training capabilities are propelling the target drone market forward. But, and there’s always a but, airspace restrictions, regulatory constraints, and the rise of virtual reality simulations are like storm clouds threatening the drone parade.

Drone Variety Show: Subsonic, Supersonic, and Hypersonic
In the drone world, it’s not just about looking cool; it’s about how fast you can go. Subsonic target drones are stealing the spotlight, dominating the market with their versatility and cost-effectiveness. However, don’t blink — the hypersonic drones are the rising stars, emulating complex threat scenarios at breakneck speeds. It’s like choosing between a slow waltz and a high-speed tango in the military dance floor.
Military Training Takes Center Stage
What’s the key to military success? Realistic training, of course! Military training and simulation steal the spotlight, creating a blockbuster performance in the target drone market. Picture this: military personnel engaging in aerial combat maneuvers, missile engagements, and anti-aircraft defense tactics — all from the comfort of a controlled environment. It’s like a high-stakes video game, but with real consequences.
Region Wars: North America vs. Europe vs. Asia Pacific
In the epic battle for drone supremacy, North America takes the lead, thanks to its defense manufacturing prowess and hefty investments in the defense sector. Europe, not to be outdone, follows closely, with nations like the UK, Germany, and France adding their firepower to the drone arsenal. Meanwhile, Asia Pacific is rising through the ranks, showing that the drone drama is truly a global affair.
Plot Twist: The Competitive Landscape
In the grand finale, enter the top players: Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, AeroTargets International, Northrop Grumman, QinetiQ Group, Airbus, Boeing, and a cast of other drone enthusiasts. It’s not just about flying; it’s about staying ahead in the drone game. These companies are pushing the boundaries with innovations, product development, and collaborations, ensuring they don’t fall out of the sky in this fast-paced market.
Recent Developments: Drones in the News
And now, a sneak peek into the latest episodes of the drone soap opera. QinetiQ swoops in with a contract from the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, Kratos Defense & Security Solutions bags a sweet USD 20 million deal, and we witness the drone market unfold its wings in the international arena.
Conclusion: The Sky’s the Limit, but Watch Out for Turbulence
As the curtain falls on the target drone market spectacle, one thing is clear — the skies are buzzing with excitement. Military forces worldwide are embracing the drone revolution for realistic training, weapons testing, surveillance, and research and development. It’s a high-flying drama with its fair share of challenges, but the show must go on. So, fasten your seatbelts, and let the drone drama unfold in the military training skies!
