The Xikers Rockstar mv SLAPPED

The rockstar mv just came out and I’m going to be honest, when I first listened to the full album Rockstar wasn’t my fave song. By no means did I think the song was bad, it just wasn’t my favorite.

I knew the performance for it would slap tho so when I heard there was an mv coming for it, I was SUPER EXCITED.

When I tell you this mv made me FALL IN LOVE WITH THIS SONG

The energy from Tricky House was there and the storyline and vibe clearly connected the two mv’s but it still managed to feel very different to Tricky House. The 3 minutes flew by and there were so many scenes that I loved.

I’m gonna be honest, I usually don’t watch dance practices but what I saw from the choreo in this mv just convinced me to check them out. Also this swooping shot is so cool!

They all looked really cool during the entire mv but this one scene did make me laugh:

Like, they just look so cute in this lmao. Look at those adorable smiles.

Anyway, another great mv in my opinion that connected to the previous one while still embracing the unique identity of this song. I prefer the Tricky House one purely bc I love the way it balanced the chaotic humor with seriously cool visuals. But There is something about the ‘clean’ look of this one that really just tickles the right part of my brain.

Xikers def had/has one of the best debuts from 5th gen in my opnion and that is a hill I will die on.

Seeing Jordans take here as well as some comments on the actual music videos or gives me more comfort and some validation.

My first initial reaction was of reminding of myself as a teen being lonely, having no friends and my 'friends' and peace was online. Specifically youtubers, jpop, kpop and games. My ideas about ghosts and death are still valid in a other sense and plus good art always have more than one meaning and great art has limitless.

It's was in another way of the emotions of letting go and reconnecting. Of nostalgia and youth, dreams and reality. But it's comforting to see it being addressed and that they are always actually closer than you think.

With New Jeans being a big comfort to many older Kpop fans, I think it hits harder because of the 90s theme New Jeans has. And personally for me because of what I've said in this post and the previous about daydreaming, loneliness and being consoled by your imagination. Seeing New Jeans dance and be with you is like them literally being represented as sound. It's like when you suddenly hear an old song somewhere from your youth and you get whiplashed back into time and more often than not it's emotional because your back remembering the feelings and memories.

It's important to keep memories close, but you can also always actively enjoy them just like pressing play.

I've wrote a lot about this song lol. And km getting teary eyed. Gosh humans are so scary but also so so warm. I'm sure Jordan will react to OMG too as they're connected and it's also very cute.

🗒Notes:As usual I might add more later and there is probably some spelling and grammar mistakes.

I'm glad though that my thought about being lonely was more explored and as I said although it's still emotional and probably even more so as it's more realistic I'm glad it's not a ghost death thing. Well maybe ghost in the form of a memory. The "Hoo Hoo's" are angelic and haunting so it fits. But basically much nicer than car accident and also not as typical is is New Jeans refreshing heart.

You don't have to throw away your memories or only enjoy them as memories. Those feelings are precious and forever. I think it also shows the care one gets for memories as they age, maybe some regrets like throwing and breaking the camera but also many more good times. But even though the images are hazy and fuzzy, the feelings are still there. Always in my heart, that's wonderful. A mirror of memories between fans and idols, far but not so far, close but not intimate. Sweet radiance of warmth.

It also shows us hey love your idols but also don't let life around you pass too. As New Jeans call Heesoo's name like we call there name, they are our fan too. And we want them to also have there own life aside from kpop. Ditto.
