Random Ryusoulger idea…
… Zombie infection plot.
Like, a Minusaur, or something (they’re probably gonna upgrade the Minusaurs at some point, or acquire new monsters) that creates a zombie virus of some kind. Whether it just makes people like mindless zombies or… Controllable? I guess? Like they behave like zombies, it’s transmitted like zombies, but they can be directed? Both might be pretty scary.
And, obviously, some of the team would get infected.

rYU SOO COOL screaming abt eps 27 to 32 (MASS Post)
playing catch up before sunday! I’ll be (hopefully) doing a rider kick for zero one as well
Spoilers under the cut as always!
Episode 27 highlights
chibiagroo’s lil cry of “Daddy!” before the opening...
I might have squealed...
Kou breaking Red Ranger stereotypes with a single sentence
Gachiellius/Boat Man/Mr. New Bad coming back (OK BRO WTF I THOUGHT WE KILLED U) with news of... a new villian??
soft boi Kou throwing up Chibi and sacrificing himself
Melt coming clutch with that Smash Soul
The bros pulling an uno reverse card on Sparkles “You may be sad, but don’t lose hope.” I WHEEZED
Overall thoughts: Pachy and Chibi are so cute! also @ nada: don’t be suspicious (unfortunately I was spoiled for the plot twist BUT  N E WAYS)
Episode 28 highlights
FUCK THIS EPS INTRO IS A LOT DARKER
AsunA HOLY FUCK GIRLIE
Bamba being a fuckin softie for Asuna, he’s such a dad i love that
I gotta admit... doing a little neener neener is a pretty unexpected source for a minasaur
@ Nada again, u’re fucking sus....
Asuna giving Kou courage made me tear up a little... because I could actually fear for Asuna’s life. Knowing how dangerous it is, yet having so much faith? (I FUCKING LOVE ASUNA SHE IS BEST GIRL OKAY??? IM- 😭😭😭😭) OH THANK GOD SHE LIVES!!! (Kou sounded so sad... baby boy TT)
Again, Bamba being a softie... I love that god, please keep it up
The trio are such cuties, you can feel the childhood best friend energy (tm)
AND AGAIN @ NADA, DONT BE SUSPICIOUS!!!
Overall thoughts: Having Ryusoulger being a little bit dark around the edges is such a refreshing feeling. It’s the first time I ever felt genuinely terrified for a character because of the intense risk. I really love the story for this one.
Episode 29 Highlights
Sparkles is FINALLY GETTING SOME??? IS IT REALLY A HIT THIS TIME?? (nope... *sigh* it’s okay though)
Fuckin... Nada eavesdropping... I don’t like that (also Mosa Rex’s evil sensor going of the moment he shows up? love that foreshadowing)
Damn, she really might be the one but it’s holding Sparkles back... he wants to save people but honestly that’s an understandable condition for her to make... (also Nada lied, im-)
God... Sparkles really chose the team I-
Bamba practically figured out who Gaisorg really is and god, his motive is such an easy thing to spot. Plus he’s gotten the ability to infiltrate on the inside because he wants so much...
Oto!!!! my baby, what do have? oooo... a new zord?
Overall thoughts: Idk if it’s considered character development for Sparkles??? But I loved the foreshadowing leading up to the reveal. Also... it seems that Nada has a greater ryusoul, but i wonder how he got it.
Episode 30 Highlights
Loving that Kou will always stick to his character
OH MY GOD MASTER BACKSTORY??? Oh... not abt Master Black, BUT MASTER GREEN! okay I can live with that
Yeah the whole “I wanna show everyone how wrong they were” kind of motive seemed pretty obvious
Dang, the bad juujuu abt this armor really ain’t smth to sneeze at, it’s real strong...
I’m honestly very impressed with Kanaro. That slap was such a power move.
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NADA WTF Dude. DUDE. *I noticed there was a change in color of the overall video... nice editing touch, made me be aware that smth was going to go wrong. And then as the episode ends, the color gets darker... nice, nice* BUT SHIT! I ACTUALLY DIDNT EXPECT NADA TO TURN THAT FAST
Overall thoughts: Backstory, character development, and editing tactics took this episode up really high! I loved it!
Episode 31 Highlights
HDJGHD BAMBA DANCING OMGSGHJDBN
Peril montage for Piitan was hilarious
Kou you really gotta stop, SHIT HE’S BLEEDING!
OH SHIT ROGUE!Kou is BACK?? (and... fuck is his actor ripped....) oh nvm he’s just really fired up...
Also holy shit, how the hell did Kou manage to handle all that pain???
OH! Piitan at max capacity!! (holy shit, his voice got DEEP rofl)
Heeeeyyy squad’s here! Loved that Melt corrected himself, shows that his aim is at the armor and not the person wearing it
Overall thoughts: Nice introduction for Pteradon! (also i loved the whole cape? thing going on there, reminded me of KyouryuGold tbh)
Episode 32 Highlights
We know Bambs and Nad have a history, but what is it? Hope they go in depth at some point...
Dang, taking all that hate was such a power move...
aW DOPE TYRAMIGO CAN FLY???
Shit... Bamba... (dude. I’ve never seen him this emotional...)
OH DAMN WAIT HE CAN SEE THE MEMORIES RIGHT? WHICH MEANS- oh.... Nada... Now you got everyone cryin’ man! C’mon! (that scene really hit me, but it would hit a lot harder if we saw flashbacks from Nada’s POV)
OH SHIT NADA!!! YOU’RE BACK!! HELL YEAH!!
Man, that fake Gaisorg scare was really funny. I suppose, Nada’s a redeemed villan now?
Overall thoughts: I liked it! I’ve heard from others that they didn’t like this arc, but I certainly appreciate it! It gave a lot of growth and showed a lot of different sides to the main rangers that we didn’t get to see.
Preview Time~
As I predicted, Nada will join the team as a Ryusoulger! Really dug his tag line “Knight of Resilience” because that’s truly what he’s become. Struggling with armor for who knows how long since he got it. But... strange... he’s seem to add to Red’s armor... And Uden seems really powerful... I’m predicting a death will occur next episode...

Random Writing Demo…
… Okay.
First off, I would like to blame my three main enablers:
Me.
Myself.
And I.
Also this is Banba’s fault and I hope he’s proud of himself.
I guess you could say this is a little like a game demo—bc it’s rough around the edges, and I cannot guarantee that this is exactly how it will appear in the finished product.
Long Post.
Okay. So. You wanna know how this started? *breaks out Mike’s Hard Lemonade bc it’s pretty much the only alcohol I can drink and dramatically opens bottle while equally melodramatic western music plays in the background as I lean forward on my stool, putting one foot up on the table and then slamming by bottle down* I’ll tell ya how this started.
It started with one, single question:
What if there were evil clones of the Masters?
Quick summary of how we got to this point (in dramatic summary fashion!): (Obviously, this takes place later in the series, once we’re all rather attached. And is less on the killing people XD) After the Druidon manage to steal Kou, Asuna, and Melto’s RyuSouls, the team sets out to retrieve them. They succeed, but encounter what appears to be Masters Red, Pink, and Blue alive! The Druidon claim that they used the Souls to revive them, but something is wrong—the Master’s personalities have been horribly twisted, and they’re siding with the Druidon! Worse, they have now one, single mission: to kill their former students! The three are incredibly distraught, and can’t bring themselves to properly fight their own Masters, and the team only just manages to survive the first encounter and retreat back to the Tatsui house. There, Banba and Touwa decide to try and spare the the trio from having to fight their beloved Masters again, and depart to fight the copies alone. However, it seems the false Masters also have the ability to hypnotise others! While the Ryusoulgers were regrouping have been amassing an army of mind controlled civilians as shields! The fight goes badly, and the brothers are soon overwhelmed…
Banba crashed roughly into the ground, landing hard on his wounded shoulder. He tasted blood from a split lip as he struggled to rise, and his vision was blurring slightly. He didn’t get much time to get his bearings, because hands appeared, dragging him back up by his arms, twisting his shoulder and the sizeable cut on his chest even more. He was forced up to his knees, restrained by the hold of multiple people—they were all clearly civilians, all had the same blank gaze. Normally, he’d’ve been able to get free from any one of them, even wounded—but there were so many that their hold seemed practically unbreakable. When he heard his brother cry out somewhere off in the haze, however, he still tried, gritting his teeth against the pain when the strain aggravated his injuries even more.
He was about to call Touwa’s name when he was abruptly interrupted by a sword blade at his throat—specifically, his own RyusoulKen.
Turning his head just bit, he glared at the person holding it. He may not have known the face, but he’d been well informed that the cold, heartless look did not belong there.
“You two were quite reckless.” The tone was just as frozen as the expression—bemused, bored, and dangerous. “All this for those three?”
For the first time in a while, it took effort to keep his emotions under control, between worry for his brother and direness of their situation—but he focused on the pain from his injuries and the harsh sting of the sword point with every breath he took to keep his head clear. “You wouldn’t understand,” He managed to snarl, and almost succeeded in keeping his voice completely even.
The fake smirked cruelly, turning the sword slightly under Banba’s chin to force his head up further, so that they were looking right into each other’s faces. “Oh? I’d think we know them much better than you.”
“You don’t know them.” Black growled back. “Especially not anymore.”
“You think quite highly of them,” The clone replied, “Risking your lives like this.” His eyes narrowed in thought, the ruthless grin growing wider. “And what do we do with you now…? Slit your throats and leave them your dead bodies as a present?” The sword edge pushed harder against Banba’s throat, pricking slightly and making even more difficult to breathe calmly, as the copy considered his choices.
“I don’t care what you do to me.” Black hissed, straining forward again, despite the sword. “But leave. Those four. Alone.” Each word made the blade sting against his skin, and he felt  a trickle of warmth when it drew blood, but he still spat them back at the copy’s face with as much force as he could.
The fake Master Red studied his glare silently for a moment, staring right back into his eyes. “… I didn’t think you were such a noble fool.”
“I protect what’s important to me.”
The imposter’s head tilted slightly, looking his captive over more thoroughly—until his eyes finally lighted on Black’s necklace. “Important, hm…?” He mused softly.
Slowly, the sword lowered away from Banba’s throat for a moment, the point tracing down the line of his neck to his collarbone. Turning it to slip the tip through the necklace cord, the clone gingerly lifted the pendant clear of Banba’s shirt collar, balanced on the flat side of the blade. For a very long moment, he held it there, tilting the sword just slightly for better light. There was blood smeared on the front and back from the stab wound in the Black’s shoulder and the gash on his chest—bright red which was still wet, smudging slightly onto the blade. Banba tried to jerk away, but the the hands holding him down were also on his shoulders now, and found himself unable to move at all.
“Well then…” The copy whispered—then he swiftly crouched down, catching the pendant in his hand and laying the blade edge back against Banba’s throat in the same motion. He turned the pendant over in its fingertips thoughtfully for a moment—then hooked two fingers around the cord, gripping tightly. “… If they won’t come for us…” Turning the sword so that the flat side was against Black’s throat, he yanked, hard. A slice of burning pain cut across the back and sides of Banba’s neck when the latch of the necklace snapped and both it and the cord cut into his skin as it was wrenched off. The motion his head forward against the blade so roughly he couldn’t breathe for a moment, and was forced to gasp for breath when he fell back again. The fake rose, though he readjusted the RyusoulKen to ensure it stayed against Banba’s throat—not as closely as before, but near enough that Black’s slightly panicked pulse was pounding against the metal. His other hand held the necklace up by the cord, dangling the pendant to inspect it even closer. Finally, his gaze returned to his prisoner, eyes gleaming with a vicious brand of delight at the horror he could see slowly creeping into the Ryusoulger’s expression. “… Maybe they’ll come for you.”
Banba’s heart skipped, and he struggled against the hands holding him again. “You…!”
In response, the fake spun the blade around and struck him across the face with the hilt of his own sword, leaving more blood in his mouth and an ugly cut on his cheek. “Behave.” The imposter growled. “We only need one of you alive, and neither of you have to be in one piece.” The sword point slipped immediately back under Banba’s chin, forcibly dragging his head back up to look into the clone’s merciless eyes again without a chance to recover from the hit. “So don’t try anything. Unless you want to watch us feed your little brother to a Minusaur.” There was a commotion nearby, and the clone looked over his shoulder casually. “Same goes for you, boy.” He called, as the fake Master Blue dragged a fiercely resisting Touwa bodily into sight. “Stop squirming before it kills your brother.” The blade point pressed closer, cutting another thin line of red beneath Banba’s jaw.
Touwa froze immediately, gaze flying to his brother, quickly taking in the extent of his injuries, genuine terror brimming in his eyes. Finally, his eyes fell to the ground and he nodded meekly when the copy gave him a questioning look.
“Good boy.” Grunted the fake Blue, reestablishing his hold now that Green had stilled.
The fake Master Pink appeared on Banba’s other side, and took over holding a sword—Touwa’s RyusoulKen—to Black’s throat when the fake Red moved away, striding toward where the Blue clone was holding Touwa. “Well, well…” The clone murmured, taking Green’s arm and pulling it sharply up to examine the bracelet on the boy’s wrist. “… You’ve got one, too…” He smirked again. “It does pay to have a matching set.” Unceremoniously, he pulled Touwa’s arm straight by the wrist, and wrenched the bracelet sharply off as well, causing Touwa to wince slightly as the cord burned his wrist. Stepping back, the clone Red held the bracelet up to look over its pendant, too—there was blood smudged on it, as well, running down Touwa’s arm from a bad gash above his elbow.
Banba took the brief moment of respite to check his younger brother for other injuries. Aside from the nasty cut on his arm, Touwa had several bad scrapes, and another nasty looking graze on his head, matting his hair with more blood, but he still looked alert and was moving normally. None of his injuries were as bad as Banba had feared. Relief allowed his shoulders to relax a bit—his own mind was still hazy and his movements sluggish from pain and blood loss, and it was probably only going to get worse. But if there was a chance to get Touwa safe… Especially if he could manage it before those three, in their incurable kindness, fell into whatever trap the imposters were planning.
But then the fake Red gestured sharply to the false Pink. The RyusoulKen disappeared from his throat for a moment, and there was rustling and a rush of air behind him—something struck him hard on the back of the head, and everything went black.
And that concludes this demo! XD
There might be another later… ^^
But I hope people enjoyed. And that they might actually be interested in seeing the full thing at some point… DX
(Also, I would like to personally apologise to Master Red—it’s a clone, okay?)

Hey…
… Hey, wireless?
F YOU.
Okay. Thank god for common sense. I accidentally lost my post bc my wireless conked out.
HOWEVER!
I was wise, and copied the contents. so we have lost nothing but the tags. Which weren’t that interesting any way.
So here we go!
In no order: (also, I apologise for any typos my fingers decided they wanted to type a mile a minute… DX)
Aw, Naohisa (still thinking I’m spelling his name wrong) is giving them science lessons…
That Melto loves and Asuna doesn’t get… XD It’s okay Asuna, I’m not sure I understand, either.
Melto’s so starry-eyed, gods love him. XD
ASUNA.
Aw, Tyramigo. It’s okay, Melto, he doesn’t mean it meanly. ^^
They’re really cute though. XD
I guess Kou got the idea to see the world in his head from watching tv…
But I feel like there are better places to get into the river than jumping over this railing…
THAT LITTLE BLINK BEFORE HE SAYS ‘209’ XD
He’s clearly got no idea why that’s shocking. ^^
UI DON’T JUST ACCEPT THIS! DX
I guess she decided that she couldn’t really tell a 209 year old what to do…
This episode officially made me conclude that Ui and Touwa are the smols. They’re the youngest of the siblings. Kou is next, then Melto and Asuna are like… Twins who are slightly older than him. No one can agree which one of them is older. Banba is obviously the eldest and stuck managing them. Maybe until Gold gets here. Unless he’ll have to manage Gold, too.
Touwa’s fast, but Banba outweighs him… A for effort, though, sweetie. <3
To continue reading foreshadowing in everything… I wonder if Touwa commenting he doesn’t think Banba can lose in one v one means we’re eventually going to see just that happen.
Or, potentially, maybe Banba did once lose to someone in one v one?
Or both?
Touwa, honey, I just want you to know I very much support the concept of you and the others just tackling your brother. Like Merry and Pippin w/ Boromir. Just jump him. He could use the hugs.
Banba gazes majestically off into the distance as he prepares to be angsty.
Banba: ‘People will always betray you.’
Me: ‘Who did this to you? SHOW ME SO I CAN STAB THEM W/ THIS FORK TEN MILLION TIMES???’
I so want whoever hurt him like this to be an absolute dickwad and I want to see them get their asses kicked, esp by some truly pissed off little sibs.
By Banba, too, absolutely. But I would kill for an ep where the kids find out what this person did and go on a roaring rampage of protectiveness for their big brother. TT^TT DX
Touwa definitely doesn’t know what happened… DX I think he knew Banba was distrusting towards others and very much a loner, but he looks so sad and confused that I don’t think he knew it went this deep…
I wanna hug my little green gremlin son, too! DX I WANNA HUG ALL OF THEM!
Eh. I’m sure she’s fine.
Mook suit actors, the unsung heroes of any and all Sentai. XD
Hey, Green final slash! And Black again. ^^
XD Touwa. Banba’s just like ‘irritated growl.’ ^^
I’m… Pretty sure Ui just insulted this guy…?
Okay, here’s the thing. I don’t see nobody glowing green and losing life force. So… Did they just decide not to put that effect in, or… Or did the Minusaur actually come from someone else?
Like… Tall Cheese?
Ahem. Sorry. I mean Fita.
Though she’s not glowing either… Augh. I dunno what I’m saying.
Why would they chain up Ui, but not Kou?
Well done, Kou. ^^ Boy’s clever is a fight. XD
… What the heck was that boise and dramatic shot of her face? Where they just trying to remind us she’s an idol? I think it happened when the brothers find her, too… Does it mean something? Hmm… I dunno.
Kou’s reaction is hilarious, though.
Ui’s neck is gonna hurt later… DX
Okay, but later the brothers wake her up just fine? I guess the effects were only temporary… That’s probably why they chained them up, so that they couldn’t escape even when they woke up.
And… Kou’s sense ends here. Why didn’t you call the others, you dork? XD
Hmm… I miss Tankjoh, but I kinda like the new guy’s music…
I think he’s meant to be a drastically different personality. Where Tankjoh was surly and serious, this guy is bombastic and childish.
These are the most badass children I have ever seen.
Actually, that’s not true, but, they’re up there.
I’m wonder if it’s an effect of the brainwashing.
I love that girl in the lavender sweatshirt who just goes for the spinning kick. XD
Touwa probably bothered Banba until he agreed to bring her here. XD Which may have been easier bc Banba probably didn’t want to have to deal w/ her…
Melto thinking ‘oh, crap, she’s pretentious, the only way we’re gonna get her to talk is… *sigh* okay, someone has to take this bullet, it might as well be me…’
Honestly, though, I think the only other person who would possibly be willing to do that is Touwa, and probably not. Asuna wasn’t taking well to getting ordered around, and Banba would never kneel to anyone (… Well… Actually, no comment). My interpretation is that Melto realises she’s rather high and mighty, and that she’ll respond to an act of 'reverence’ like that, and he knows no one else in the room is gonna be willing to do it w/out complaining. So he just steps in to save them all the trouble. Mom friend to the rescue.
Honestly, it’s very sensible of him. ^^
I need to write more w/ Melto… DX
Banba is the back modelling. Bc boy can’t be in a single scene where he isn’t posing in some way at every opportunity.
XD I WAS RIGHT. ^^
Sorry Short Cheese, Banba doesn’t care if you think he has manners (I wouldn’t be surprised if he tried to ditch her in the forest earlier XD). Touwa looks slightly miffed, but I think he’s less effected by it coming from you. The only one you’re offending is Asuna. And, actually, I’d advise against that.
Hey, isn’t Asuna also technically a noble?
Asuna’s like ‘First off, how dare you? Second, how dare you? And third… How dare you?’
XD This is even funnier bc of one of my casual ships. ^^
Melto hates this so much, but he’s willing to do it to find out what’s happening. XD Poor baby.
Oh, okay. So the mind control is just his thing.
This is so vague I can’t trust it… I mean, I guess most of it could be on the level, but… Hm. I gotta wonder if they were allowed to escape… And what exactly he’s got on them to have them still be doing this? (Bc next ep pretty much reveals they’re trying to trick the team) Is Short Cheese mind controlled? Is Tall Cheese? They repeat her ‘I would risk my own life to save her’ twice this ep, so I’m guessing Tall Cheese/little sister’s life is still in danger somehow…? I dunno. I guess we’ll learn this weekend.
So… What, you can just teleport? Why didn’t you do that when you were running before? SUSPICIOUS?
Also, I’m not sure I trust these flashbacks either, bc they’re from Short Cheese’s point of view, and next ep indicates she wasn’t being on the level w/ the team. I mean, she’s holding that orange rock in a bottle… But… Did it come from her planet? Is it something they stole from the Druidons? Or is there a part of this story that was left out (actually, that much is obvious bc Short Cheese didn’t mention the rock at all), where the Druidon gave it to her? Too many variables, even if I didn’t know they were up to something.
I should note that it’s pretty obvious they’re not actually evil and are being forced into doing this. They’re only here as guest stars and they’re being promoted as being idols (exhibit A, the abrupt song sequence coming up), so I HIGHLY doubt they’re gonna pull out the rug and make them outright evil.
And, anyway, the next ep preview practically confirms that. XD
Girl in the lavender sweatshirt is ready to kill something, I swear.
I also like the boy in the burgundy and white sweatshirt. XD He’s paying such good attention. ^^
Asuna’s offended, Melto’s somewhere else thinking about Wyzul, Banba doesn’t care and Touwa’s in. XD
Touwa clearly here thinking ‘dear god, I know I never want to go through that… O_o’
Honey, I am so sorry, but I make no promises. DX
That’s a very direct question, but no less then I’d expect from Banba. Though also… Kinda odd? What are you trying to establish here, sweetie? Why are you asking this?
This line is very important, clearly. They repeat it twice. Pretty sure it’s to make us understand that whatever is going on next ep, it’s bc the sisters are trying to protect each other. Like I said, I’m presuming that Tall Cheese is actually still in danger somehow.
WHAT WAS HE TRYING TO ESTABLISH W/ THAT QUESTION? And then he just accepts her answer? I’m confused…
I really can’t tell if he’s finding something odd w/ this, or if he’s accepting it bc he’s sympathising w/ her… DX Tatsuya is being unreadable too well! DX
And then she… Just starts singing? Like, I love this show, but… There could’ve been a better lead up to that.
Though I do love Naohisa reacting to the lights. XD
So… Was this just a random musical interlude, or… Was she doing something? I guess it was so that Kou could hear it and make the connection, but the execution could have gone a little better.
Banba takes that extra moment to pose. XD
Untransformed fight! ^^
I love how Banba just delays transforming to take off. :D
I needed to use a new emoticon.
Kou’s little ‘Ah!’ and pointing when the kids show up! XD
Girl in the lavender sweatshirt is going to cut something.
See, this is an effective use of the singing.
Uh… What. Melto, what does that… Whatever. Sentai logic.
Now he says ‘Okay, Tyra!’ instead of just ‘Tyra!’
SOMEONE TEACH HIM TOUWA AND BANBA’S NAMES!
Banba would be SO AWKWARD. XD
Oh, NOW you transform. XD Well, we wouldn’t have had that beautiful weapon toss if you had before. ^^
See? We bring up the line again, and there’s a weird sound cue? Does it mean anything?
Touwa sees the other smollest sib and must immediately go help her. XD
I do like the improve mobility of this mech. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely adored the clusterfuck of orbs that was the Kyuranger mecha, but… It’s nice to seem something more dynamic once in a while?
Kudos the new suit actor, too. Whose name still escapes me… DX
Convenient train tracks. XD Sentai logic.
Actually, just Toku logic.
I love MirNeedle and his honk and his spinning attack. XD
Could you be more tsundere in one sentence???
Touwa’s just like ‘stages of realising your brother is a tsundere, stage 3: acceptance’
Kou doesn’t mind, though. XD
I do think Banba is starting to kind of like the trio, but boy is very damaged and the concept scares him, so he’s trying to fight it as much as possible, even though it’s just kind of a slight, vague fondness at this point.
Like, eventually, he’s going to end up adopting them, it’s going to happen, he’s going to have at least four younger sibs, actually five. But we’re not there quite yet.
I would love a ‘we’re not each other’s only family anymore’ sort of thing from the brothers. Or maybe one of the trio telling them that. XD
One day, a Mosasaurus will be in that empty spot, I bet.
Melto and Banba on the same wavelength. ^^
So… The Minusaur host is dead now?
This is cute, but I already know there’s more to this.
XD Oh, Banba. You’re starting to like them, I know you are. You’re not getting out of this. Though I do get why you really don’t want that to happen.
Though I do think his getting emotional next week is a partially due to it. ^^ Like, yes, there’s the fact that he’s mad at Kou for being too trusting, and that it might be dangerous for all of them/earth, but… I dunno. Probably overthinking.
But I’m gonna wax on about that shot in the preview later, don’t worry. XD
Or worry, if you don’t want to hear my rambling. In… Which case why would you even be reading this.
Melto on point again. XD I really need to write more w/ you… DX
Though on the other hand, I guess there’s a possibility that she could have read it in Naohisa’s papers at the house, or he said it to her. But she didn’t seem interested in the research, and they could just ask Naohisa if he mentioned it.
Hm… Maybe they’re waiting to update the ED until Gold gets here.
Why does Kou have the inflation Soul activated?
… That sounds like he knows way  more about economics than he actually does. XD
As far as the preview, I like the drama that seems to be happening. ^^ Maybe they’ll finally give us some slightly more concrete info on what happened to Banba. Or just… Anything about the brothers’ past? And what about that hooded person? The sisters are up to something, but they’re obviously being forced into it somehow, Wyzul is definitely the sneaky type. We’re also heading into May, which means DimeVolcano and possibly Gaisorg/Gaisoulg? Though he wasn’t in any of the scans so even if his figurine is releasing, we likely won’t be seeing him until the very end/month after.
Pleasedon’tbeGoldpleasedon’tbeGoldpleasedon’tbeGold.
There are so many better possibilities. DX I know who I want it to be (even though I don’t strictly know ‘who’ that is XD), but there are other possibilities too.
And while I would like to see next ep, I am also curious about the arc coming after it. I really wanna know if my crazed visual analysis madness was right about it only being the kids who are trapped in Wonderland and Banba is trying to get them out. I wanna know.
Hm… Does anyone know where the ‘newspaper summaries’ come from? Like, we got the ones from 5 to 7… Are we gonna get ones for 8 to 11 at some point?
I am an impatient baby. DX ^^;
That’s all folks! Virtual chocolate eclairs for anyone who read all that. But, actually, that’s not all! I still wanna ramble about something—namely, and silly personal theory/hc of mine.
Bc of this face:
Tumblr media
Okay, so. During that conversation where Banba did the whole ‘Kindness can make one weak’ thing, I mentioned that I found Kou’s reaction interesting? Bc it might’ve been in his characterisation to get mad and insist that kindness does not make people weak—esp since he clearly still doesn’t think that. But instead, he just looked a little hurt, and looked sad? Like… It seemed to me he was more saddened that Banba thought that way at all than being offended by the statement. Not ‘how could you think that?!’ but more… Like ‘that’s so sad that you’ve been made to believe that?’ If that makes sense? That somehow, Kou caught on that Banba has this view bc he was hurt terribly in the past? And then there’s this face here. Boy looks like a sad puppy. It’s totally my skewed interpretation bc I had that thought before, but to me it looks like he’s looking at Banba like… Empathetically? Like he pities him? So now I’m falling even deeper into the idea that Kou doesn’t find Banba’s distrust of others insulting of offensive in anyway, but is just sad for the fact that someone could come to think that way. Realises that Banba is like this bc he got hurt and is scared, and is just heartbroken by that? That someone could get hurt so badly that they lose faith in nearly all goodness in the world? I might like it if there’s a moment where Kou proves he’s more thoughtful than he seems (like, he can be thoughtful, he has his moments—though he is still an impulsive, goofy doofus) by, like, outright asking Banba what happened to him. That’d def throw Banba for a loop, I think. This is, of course, just my overthinking and incoherent rambling. But I do like the idea. ^^ Last note: my god Tatsuya has pretty eyelashes! DX

Ryusoulger Raw post #1…
… Will there be a #2? Who knows! Not me!
But I’m rather tired and I got really excited, so here ya go.
Spoilers abound.
In no order, and I apologise for any nonsense that may ensue:
We just go straight into the opening again. How they decide that? Flip a coin?
Recap the previous … Yay, Touwa’s not dead. I’m so shocked. XD
I’m kidding. But I don’t know why we needed Melto to tell us that.
Banba’s doing his arm folding thing again. Oh my god he’s pretty. DX
Kou smile!
Naohisa is back! And I still think I’m spelling that wrong…
Come to think of it… Who the hell did he take that stuff to? Where was he? Are he and the Elder in cahoots?
Actually, that’s… Not impossible.
Already know that it turns out they need a sample to make the antidote, so I presume that’s what he’s telling them.
Oh. Oh, yeah, pretty sure I was right. He looks gorgeous, but Banba is very much in pain right now. I mean, from his point of view, he just got told he destroyed the only way to save his brother. That’s gotta hurt. And he’s probably already blaming himself for letting this happen in the first place…
Ah! My little green gremlin son! DX
I already want to hug Banba, but now I really want to hug him. He looks so upset… All these kids have their own brand of puppy dog eyes, I think.
Poor Kou has spent roughly half of this two parter rushing after Banba whenever Black runs out the door abruptly. XD
Is… Is mushroom crayon man starting his own YouTube channel?
Gods, I really love mook suit actors in Sentai. Can always count on them for comic relief and just going all out in getting dramatically beat up.
Big Brother Mode –– ACTIVATED.
And now, in which, were it not for outside circumstance, Crayon would be dead.
The fact that Kou was like ‘likelihood I find Banba trying to kill something indicates I should transform even before I find him’ is hilarious to me.
I love the fact that Asuna and Ui spend the entire time sitting up and Banba spends it standing. Like, what, we couldn’t let these three lie down, too? I mean, I guess Touwa was the one who was bitten, but… Did no one really think to get Banba a chair?
Then again, would he have sat in it?
HOW DID KOU OPEN THE DOOR?
Banba is glaring like ‘if I wasn’t in literal agony right now and actually dying, I would so be killing all of you for this humiliation.’ Boy does not like having to be carried. XD
Shocked Kou is really cute and I want to pinch his cheeks. ^^
Banba might be dying of poison, but he still has to be grumpy. It’s his brand.
I hate the ‘poisoned’ Toku makeup, but even it cannot stop Tatsuya from being amazingly beautiful. XD
Hmm… Well, Melto just said something that made Banba think of something. Not sure what though.
Smiley Kou! ^^
Congrats, Melto! You have now been promoted to being directly addressed!
Banba, I’m sure you have something important to say, but… Do you have to almost threateningly lurch over here to say it?
Why are y’all goofing off like this all of a sudden?
Crayon, don’t break the fourth wall, you disturb me.
Okay, given context, what I think Melto says is that Banba told him where he found the Minusaur before.
Context bc the two of them immediately run there.
Crayon says something about ‘otoutou’ but I don’t know if that meant what I thought it meant?
Dude, I know you’re goo, but… Seriously? Don’t put your hand in an untrained animal’s mouth.
You go, boys! ^^
Aaaaand… Melto’s down!
Actually, though, out of all of them, Melto’s the one being most crazy whilst dying of poison… Like he got back up and was fighting untransformed. Yes, Kou let himself get bitten, but let’s give Melto some credit, too.
I really think Banba would have been more inclined to wait and give them more of a chance if it weren’t for Touwa. But Touwa is the most important person to him in the world, and, coupled w/ his other trust issues, he’s scared to rely on, essentially, strangers for this.
But, more importantly, where was he keeping the sword??? In his sleeve?
Same place Akashi kept Zuuban, I suppose.
Yeah, this is a perfect storm of Banba is afraid to trust or have faith in anyone else and the fact that the person he would absolutely sacrifice everything for is at risk.
I really want to know what Banba and Touwa say in this scene… Like, I think I get what Asuna says, she’s saying that she has faith in Kou and Melto, and they should, too, but… I dunno. Maybe it’s nothing. Maybe it’s Maybel––wait, no.
But, like… Banba seems like he’s having some sort of dramatic reaction to what Touwa is saying? And whether that’s just floating drama bc they’re all dying of poison and he’s desperate to save his brother or whatnot, or if there’s something big here… I wanna know! DX
Pretty sure he’s saying if they all die there’d be no one to stop the Druidon. But I still think that he’d be more willing (even if only incremently so) to wait it out if it were just him and/or some combination of the others. Touwa being in danger (and him probably blaming himself for part of it) is likely throwing him even more off balance.
So, we all know from the magazine that Banba doesn’t trust anyone but Touwa bc he was betrayed before, and I definitely think this is setting up the path to that being revealed? If that makes sense? Hopefully they do it steadily/don’t wait too long.
Tatsuya still rocking the awful poison makeup like a boss. XD
I feel like you can see the switch flip when Asuna brings up believing/trusting the other two (at least, I presume that’s what she’s saying?). Like, by the end of her speech, Banba almost looks like he’s having war flashbacks or something? Esp when Touwa weighs in… I dunno how to describe it. Maybe after I’ve rested.
Oh, baby… He’s so upset and scared and in pain. Like, no, don’t stab the nice animal lady, but I do get you’re not rational rn…
That took tremendous effort. Like, he’s having to force himself to rely/something sort of like trust others. (I don’t think we can quite call it trust yet)
But he definitely looks like he’s having some sort of trauma reaction to the concept of ‘trust.’
Aaaaaand… Kou is down!
Aaaaaand… Kou has a dumb plan.
Throwing the sword was not necessary. You could have forced it to bite the sword.
WHY. WHY KEBABS. WHAT. WHAT IS EVEN HAPPENING.
Also, nice save, Tyramigo!
Yes, yes, I see the Gold foreshadowing. But how deep does it go?
Melto’s like ‘I was afraid of you before, but not in that outfit, and not while I’m dying of poison.’
But also, WHY.
Banba can’t do anything w/out looking majestic. It’s in his contract. He’s the Knight of Majesty for a reason. XD
I feel like the other four are giving a speech, and then Banba’s just like ‘I’m only here bc I am thoroughly pissed off!’
I love MirNeedle and his honking noise.
He spin!
Double sword attack, while Banba and Asuna each get their own thing.
Also, only Touwa’s gets a cool name. XD
Touwa gets payback. ^^
Ui’s so perky. God love you, sweetie. Acting like you weren’t dying two minutes ago, too. <3
WHEN DID THEY GET IN THE AIR???
I feel like the sword is about to eat me…
For a balloon thing, that was pretty tame, actually.
Banba says something, and then Touwa, I think, something like, ‘don’t you mean ‘thank you’?’ and then Banba gets awkward and it’s SO CUTE! DX
Smiley Kou again!
Kou is like ‘we’re friends!’ and Banba is like ‘oh no, he’s adorable’ but then immediately switches back to ‘I’m sorry, you must be a level 4 friend to unlock my tragic backstory.’
Like, he literally stares at him for moment, like… I dunno. I’ll have to think more about what I think that moment means. He looks kinda… Shocked?
Then he, like, has to recollect himself to brush him off.
Did he just say that all in one breath?
Touwa’s shrug there tells me he either doesn’t know anything about the betrayal, or doesn’t know how badly it effected his brother. My guess is the former.
Love how the trio are already getting fond of Banba’s standoffishness.
They’re teasing her, but I can’t figure out about what…
Oh, I’m sorry, mr Elder whose wig doesn’t match? Are my sons not included in your cryptic prophesying? Well fine then. I’ll do it myself. XP
And believe me, they don’t want me doing that, so you’d better include my boys in whatever it is.
Well, the sisters are def suspicious, way frillier than I thought they’d be, and there seems to be a mind control plot? Wonder how the brothers are going to react to the apparent situation?
Sigh. Watching Sentai live is so painful. Now I have to wait until next week. DX
That’s all, folks! Digital chocolate torte for anyone who read all that.
Really tired, don’t have much else to say. Even more curious about Banba’s backstory. Pettily annoyed that whatever dramaticness the Elder was musing on at the end apparently doesn’t include my sons. (Petty, I know, but they’re Ryusoulgers, too, shouldn’t they be part of whatever yours prophesying? XP).
So, anyway. Curious about what these sisters are up to next week. Seems like their voices control people, or maybe I’m misinterpreting. Still loving this series.
Very tired.

Random Writing SEQUEL???…
… So.
So.
Anyone remember that thing I wrote where Banba was having a conversation w/ what was probably a mental manifestation of his own self-depreciation manifesting as his father while he was under mind control? Anyone? No?
Well, I do. ^^ And I wrote a sequel!
I should note, this was inspired by a scene from the manga +Anima. Which is a) really good, and b) I’ve been thinking about a lot (see: idea for Ryusoulger AU post).
Let us say a quick prayer for the the dearly departed horizontal line, and commence.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/
Melto ducked behind the cover of one of the rooftop air conditioning units, racking his brain. Asuna and Kou were struggling to restrain Banba—Pink had manage to get her arms around him, locking one of his arms—but even though her hold was unbreakable, Black was struggling, kicking and stomping at her feet. Worse, the arm that was free was his sword hand, and even though Red had managed to latch onto it, he was getting roughly thrown around as Banba tried to twist free. Ui was somewhere on the other side of the roof, crouching behind another air conditioner, hands over her head, where she had ducked after a near miss from the TsuyoSoul. They’d yet been able to get him to hold still long enough to even try and undo his transformation, their last-ditch effort to snap him out of the Druidon’s control—and even that was unlikely to work. Their options were dwindlingwhen not holding back, Banba had smashed through all of their plans, and Souls like the NemuSoul had proved ineffective on Black’s condition. At this point, it really was starting to seem like they might have no choice but to…
“Melto!” Looking up at the sound of his name, he saw Touwa crouched across from him, looking scared and anxious—and so very young. Staring into the panic in Green’s eyes, he knew he couldn’t finish the thought. Logic be damned—he would not be responsible for tearing the boy’s only family away from him. But then Green continued in frightened tones, “What do we do?” It was a question Melto had no answer for. Nothing was working, and Asuna and Kou could only hold on for so long—they were running out of time. And here was Touwa, gazing pleadingly at him, genuinely believing Melto could think of a way to save the person most important to him in the entire world.
That thought made Blue pause. That was right—the only time they’d seen someone break from the control had been… He looked thoughtfully at Green. The brothers were each the thing the other loved most. Perhaps… Perhaps they could use that.
He took a deep breath. “… I have an idea.” He admitted. “… But I need you to play along, okay? I need you to trust me.”
Green stared right back into his face, earnestness practically coming off him in waves. “Anything.”
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/
“Banba!” Melto stepped out from behind the AC unit, pulling Touwa with him by the arm—tugging as gently as he could, but already holding on as tightly as possible. He was surprised by how steady his voice was, but didn’t dwell on it. This, he needed to sell. “cut it out now!” He continued, fighting to keep his breathing even. “Or…” With a yank, he pulled Green over to the very edge of the roof so that the boy’s feet were scrambling to balance on the very brink of the ledge and the only thing keeping him from falling over the side was Blue’s grip on his arm. “… Or I will drop him.”
“Melto!?” Asuna demanded, looking absolutely horrified—and expression Kou was mirroring. “What are you doing?!”
He didn’t want to risk answering, so he just pointedly met their eyes and prayed the understood the message he was trying to send—trust me. It was true the plan was risky—if Touwa slipped, or his hold on the boy’s arm faltered, and Green couldn’t transform in time… He swallowed, squeezing Touwa’s arm tighter, so much so that he was probably cutting off circulation. He couldn’t falter now. The one time he’d seen anyone break from the mind control had been when a couple that was being compelled to fight them had realised that their child—left on her own when her parents were hypnotised—was in the way of falling rubble. The women had promptly abandoned the fight and rushed to spirit their daughter to safety, then fussed over her extensively, showing no more sign of Druidon control. The shock and adrenaline of seeing what they loved in peril had broken the spell. As an actual strategy, it had seemed too unpredictable to put into practice, especially given how dangerous Black was as an opponent already— one misstep could result in actual disaster. But they were out of choices, and he was thinking on the fly. Like how the couple cared for their daughter, Banba loved Touwa more than his own life. If anything could pierce the Druidon’s hold on his mind, it was the need to protect his brother.
And when Black’s gaze zeroed in on the hand holding Touwa’s arm, he knew it was working. Banba froze, just staring at them, for a very long time.
“Tyra!” A rumbling in the ground announced the arrival of Tyramigo, lumbering over to peer at them on the rooftop anxiously. He was followed by the other four Kishiryu, who each let out a roar of their own. At the sound, Banba’s head jerked slightly, glancing at them—like they’d just woken him from dozing off. The silence stretched on for another moment.
“… Touwa…” Banba’s voice was quiet, slow, and startled—filled with a complex mess of emotions, but all rooted in unmasked tenderness—and finally… Relieved. Melto instantly pulled Touwa back onto the roof proper at the sound, taking a moment to move Green further away from the ledge, just in case, inching closer. It was like the name was a switch—Black’s whole body relaxed, his transformation dropping, gasping for air like he’d been running nonstop. Slowly, his gaze moved to Kou, who was trying to catch his own breath, like he’d just realised Red was there. “… Kou…” He said it the same way he’d said Touwa’s name—though his voice was gaining strength—more than just a greeting or identification, a statement of something more, that made Kou give him a teary smile in return. Turning his head the other way, Banba looked slightly over his shoulder at Asuna, who was easing her grip now that she didn’t need to restrain him—murmuring in the same warm, emotional tone, “… Asuna…” She beamed back as well at the recognition, sniffling slightly. Finally, Black’s gaze moved back up to where Melto still had an arm loosely around Green. “… Melto…” Despite having heard the others called, Melto still nearly choked at hearing his own name said like that, with such deep affection. Then Black looked over toward the corner where Ui was peering out from behind another AC unit. “… Ui.” Ui blinked, glancing around like she thought he was talking to someone else, even though he’d called her name. For a moment, all was still, the feelings between them just hanging in the air.
Then Touwa let out a small sob, rushing out from under Melto’s arm to throw himself into his brother’s chest, locking his arms around Banba’s waist. Black pulled his arm out of Asuna’s relaxed hold to gently stroke Green’s hair. At the same time, Kou gave a happy cry and jumped in as well, clinging to Banba’s side, and Black’s other arm tucked unconsciously around his shoulders. Asuna squeaked delightedly, and jumped up and down a few times before hugging tighter, her arms still around Banba’s middle, leaning into his back. Ui scampered over to join them, squeezing in next to Asuna and hanging off his shoulder with a big, goofy grin of her own, though she was clearly also trying to fight off tears. Then Melto found himself rushing forward as well, joining the huddle on Black’s other side, pressing his face into Banba’s chest—when he felt the other Ryusoulger’s arm settle around him, too, he finally started crying, too, the stress overflowing.
They were all suddenly bumped when Tyramigo leaned down and tried to nuzzle them—the Ui burst into loud bawling, and decided to try and throw her arms around everyone at once as she wailed, and had little success.
Soon almost everyone was laughing, though Banba just looked vaguely bemused, and they broke apart. Kou and Touwa rearranged so that Black could lean on them when his legs wobbled, and he did so with only minor hesitation. Asuna went over to put an arm around Ui, gently patting her back and trying to talk her through taking deep breaths, while Melto leaned on his knees, trying to get his bearings. The Kishiryu watched them for a moment—then Tyramigo let out a happy ‘Tyra’ and trundled away again, the others each making similar sounds as they followed. MirNeedle stayed the longest—standing up on his hind legs, he leaned on the building with his front legs, bending his head down to nose at his Ryusoulger’s back, nearly knocking Banba right over.
Black stumbled, managing to catch himself on the other two, then looked over his shoulder at the concerned Kishiryu. “… I see you, I see you.” He muttered, sounding more fond than annoyed. “… I’m fine.” MirNeedle stared nervously down at them for a little longer, then turned his head toward the sky to let out a delighted roar. Reaching down to nudge Banba with his muzzle one last time, he clambered off the building and trudged away after the others.
“… He was worried about you.” Touwa explained quietly.
Banba sighed deeply. “… Troublesome.” He grunted—but both Red and Green saw him smile as he glanced back at the retreating Kishiryu.
Finally, Melto was upright again, and Ui had calmed enough to be able to walk. Blue looked around at everyone, and couldn’t resist a grin. “… Let’s go.” The response was a series of affirmative nods.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/
Asuna and Ui burst through the door of the Tatsui house with happy shouts, causing Naohisa to nearly fall out of his chair in surprise. Ui rushed over to help him up, hardly containing her own excitement. “Tou-san! We did it!” Naohisa scrambled his way to his feet as the others came in, Melto holding the door so that Kou and Touwa could help Banba through it—though once inside Black stepped away to lean on the wall, taking his weight off their shoulders.
The old man located his cane, leaning on it and giving them a pleased smile. “Perfect timing!” He hobbled over to the table, the top of which was covered with a cloth. “Because…” With a flourish, he pulled the cloth off, revealing a large expanse of food, “I have prepared a celebration feast!”
Ui gasped, whirling to stare at her father. “Where you doing this the whole time?” Naohisa just looked proud of himself.
Asuna let out an overjoyed shriek and dove forward, scooping the heaping plate of meat off the table. “Mine!”
She darted toward the corner with it, but Melto frantically gave chase. “Asuna, you can’t eat all that alone, it’s not healthy!”
“Can to!” Pink shot back, then, “Ui, get him!”
With a burst of laughter, Ui complied, tackling Melto over while Asuna kept scurrying off. Blue struggled to get away, and the three of them descended into a comical game of keep away, racing around the room, the plate being passed precariously between the girls to keep it out of Melto’s reach. Kou and Touwa both tried to collapse exhaustedly into the same chair simultaneously, and quickly began squabbling over it, snatching it back and forth, and pushing each other on to the floor when one of them tried to sit in it, voices rising—eventually, they resorted to pinching each other’s cheeks competitively again.
Naohisa watched the chaos with a smile for a moment, then hobbled over to Banba by the door. Reaching up, he clapped a hand on Black’s shoulder. “… Welcome home.”
Banba looked sharply at him in surprise—then his expression slowly softened, and he turned his head to watch the others’ mayhem. The corners of his mouth turned up in a genuine, warm smile, the clearest he’d given in a long time. “That’s right…” His voice was quiet, but the weight of the words was palpable. “… I’m home.”
Everyone froze, turning to look at him. “… Nii-san?” Touwa asked, though neither he nor Kou seemed willing to let go of the other’s cheek.
Banba smirked slightly, shaking his head. “… Nothing.” Heaving himself off the wall, he marched over, a little haltingly, to grab the chair Kou and his brother were fighting over and sit pointedly in it, folding his arms.
The other two let go of each other in surprise, but while Red let out an outraged gasp, Green took it as a win, and they were soon bickering about that, with Kou demanding that Touwa stop gloating because he hadn’t done anything. Melto tried to take advantage of the distraction to attempt to seize the plate from Asuna’s hands, but tripped and banged his head on the table. Both girls quickly dropped the chase to rush over to make sure he was okay, though Asuna made sure to hold the plate just out of reach; Naohisa soon joined them, offering Blue a hand to pull himself up.
Night began to fall outside. Banba leaned back in his chair, closing his eyes, a still stone in the madness surrounding him. The exhaustion was at last catching up with him, and it seemed, for the moment, like every bit of tension and worry had left him—for the first time in a long while, he felt genuinely safe.
And so, slumped over in the chair, listening to the comforting sound of the others voices around him, he fell finally fell asleep.

Do not underestimate my dedication to creating my own line separators. Even if they are gonna look like shite on mobile. Sorry guys. Blame tumblr for killing the horizontal line?

Random Writing Tidbit I’d Like To Make a Formal Apology to MosaRex…
… But also how’s that for a long title?
So… MosaRex really came out as kinda a jerk in this… And I feel really bad, but also I managed to get this out… So… Sorry, dude?
Also Cannoli might be a little shaky on the characterisation in this, and I apologise for that, too. DX Only my second time trying to write him, and the first trying to write from his point of view, so…
The timeline on this is a little hazy, too… It’s gotta be when Cannoli’s still being standoffish, but when Banba has defrosted some more, so… I dunno.
Another mandatory moment of silence for the horizontal line.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There was a brief moment of shock when he hit the water, but he recovered quickly. Kanaro was of the Sea Tribe, drowning wasn’t something he did. Soon he had his bearings again, and he kicked a few times to steady himself in the water; then a flash of dark in the corner of his eye reminded him he wasn’t alone—and that the other person didn’t have his experience with the deep ocean. Then he got a good look at them, and realised the situation was even worse.
Through the blur of the water, he could see a thick smudge of dark red issuing from the wound in Banba’s abdomen, thinner trails drifting from his lips, spreading swirling tendrils. He was hanging still in the water, his only motions the effects of the currents created by their fall. It was also a safe bet that Black’s ghostly paleness was more than water in Kanaro’s eyes or a trick of the refracting light. He had no doubt that, under normal circumstances, Black could swim just fine—but even the best swimmer would be at risk while badly wounded and unconscious. And bleeding.
Kanaro’s heart shot into his throat as it suddenly clicked. There was blood in the water. Lots of it, too, a thick smear off blackish crimson, pooling out from the other Ryusoulger’s wound like a massive, deadly flower, spreading through the water around them. As if this situation needed to get any worse. On instinct, he kicked again, propelling himself away—then stopped, treading in the water
Kanaro. MosaRex’s voice echoed in his head. Something is coming. If there is a frenzy, not even I can help you.
He saved my life.
That was his choice. You are not responsible for his decisions.
Black was drifting further away from him, more blood pouring into the water. Even he began to feel the vibrations of something approaching them. If he tried to take Banba with him, there would be a trail for whatever predators that were coming could follow—but if he didn’t… He’ll die.
Not necessarily. MosaRex’s words weren’t so much cold as factual; and it was technically true, but…
But why had Banba taken the hit for him? Black didn’t like him, had made no secret of that—but he hadn’t hesitated at all to throw himself between Gold and danger. Kanaro wracked his brain for the last time he’d seen Black react so quickly—and all that came to mind was…
… For them? He remembered Kou and Asuna’s eager expressions when asking him to join, and Melto’s slightly calmer one at their elbow; Touwa had been more curious, but friendly enough. Most of all… They had been kids—innocent, earnest. And Black had hung back, watching all four of them like a mother hawk might watch its chicks, and watching him like he was a potential threat.
Most likely. Agreed MosaRex. Their gentleness would likely make them distraught if you were to die.
If him dying, someone they hardly knew, who had mostly just been standoffish to them, could upset them so much the one who watched over them so fiercely would risk himself for someone he disliked to prevent it… How would they react to losing the one who acted so much like their guardian?
Kanaro! MosaRex interrupted his thoughts again. Hurry!
More vibrations rippled through the water. Whatever was approaching was coming fast, and Banba had drifted even further away from him; he had to make a decision. Fortunately, there was no longer a choice—if he left Black here, he would never be able to look his own younger sister in the face again.
Twisting around, he kicked harder, propelling himself towards the other Ryusoulger, and was quickly within arm’s reach. Seizing Banba’s arm, he pulled Black over to him through the water, tucking an arm around the other Ryusoulger’s waist. With as much strength as he could, he turned back and sped away.
He didn’t stop until he found land, and had dragged both himself and Banba all the way out of the shallows, arms hooked under Black’s shoulders to pull him along. The other Ryusoulger’s wound was still bleeding profusely, leaving a trail of deep red across the sand. Once he had them far enough away from the sea that there was not even a remote possibility of anything crawling out after them—foolish, perhaps, but he wasn’t going to take chances, they had been lucky to make it to land at all—he freed his arms and dropped to his knees in the sand beside Banba, clumsily cupping Black’s  face in his hands.
“Hey… Hey!” But Banba’s eyes remained closed, and not even the slightest flicker of even unconscious reaction showed on his face. Kanaro’s breath caught, and he fumbled for a pulse with shivering fingers, even ducking his head to press an ear to Black’s chest to see if he could hear a heartbeat that way. “Come on… You can’t die… You can’t leave them like this…”
He is perfectly capable of dying like this.
Shut up! He felt the Kishiryu mentally recoil from the sharpness, but didn’t care—especially not when, somewhere deep within Banba’s ribs, he heard the weak beating of Black’s heart. He snapped back up, clamping one hand over the stab wound in the other Ryusoulger’s abdomen, the other fumbling for his Changer. “He’s alive!” Without thinking, he found himself grinning despite their circumstances as he bumped the Changer against his leg to hit the call button. “Kou!”
“Kanaro!” Red’s voice sounded bright and enthusiastic—it hurt more than it should have to know he was about to ruin that. “You called! We were-”
“Later!” He surprised himself again by sounding almost as commanding as Banba did when he shouted for the other four to break up whatever bickering they had devolved into—but he couldn’t dwell on it. “There’s no time right now.” He took a deep breath, forcing his voice to stay level. “Banba is wounded. I can bring him back with MosaRex, but it’s bad. Be ready.” He hung up before Kou could reply. We need to go.
Very well. Was the reply. For a moment, there was silence—then, with a tremendous roar, MosaRex burst from the water, shaking off a few times before sliding forward into the shallows, head down. But I take no responsibility if he dies en route. I warned you taking him was a risk.
Whatever. Kanaro snapped back, bending down to leverage one of Banba’s arms over his shoulders, and heaving Black up while keeping one hand pressed to the wound, and set about dragging him over to the Kishiryu. We can discuss it later. With some scrambling, he managed to claw his way up to MosaRex’s back, dragging the other Ryusoulger up with him, rearranging so that he could keep pressure on Banba’s wound. For now… Let’s just take him home. He felt MosaRex’s discontent in his mind, but the Kishiryu said nothing more on the subject. Pausing just a moment to make sure both the Ryusoulgers were secured, the mosasaurus turned and sped away with another thunderous roar.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is coming in the water? I dunno. I’m pretty sure there’s carnivorous sea life at least somewhere in the waters around Japan. Not sharks, maybe, but if you got enough tuna… I digress. The point isn’t complete marine biological accuracy. Esp since Cannoli is aquaman and would probably not actually have been in any danger.
Shhhh. Stop finding plot holes in your own writing, Fire! DX

Random Writing Tidbit New Challenge...
... Bc I can’t seem to stop, I’m gonna see if I can write something for Ryusoulger for each day until it airs. Might help the time go by faster.
Some might be short. Some might be long. I’ll probably fail.
But that ain’t the point.
Anyway, I wrote this for today.
More angst, bc why not. But also some warm feelies!
...
I’m sorry I actually slept last night I’m weirdly chipper.
Kou is surprisingly light. Not as light as Touwa, maybe, but he’s lighter than he seems he should be.
What happened to Touwa after they lost sight of each other? He hopes he’s somewhere with Melt and Asuna and not lost on his own.
Then Kou whimpers unconsciously near his ear, a little, warm vibration against his back that reminds him of the one he’s carrying—who is so surprisingly light. Especially when he’s limp and bleeding, both arms hanging loosely, head barely balancing on his support’s shoulder.
He’d patched Red up as best he could. Another young boy pretending he wasn’t in pain—even as he steadily got paler, and clung weakly to his sleeve as he worked. Kou only has a few years on Touwa, and when he’s wounded and scared, it shows—and worse, it hurts the same way. Not even just while he’d been tending Red’s wounds, when there was a needling reminder in his head the whole way that the blood on his hands was Kou’s and that it was outside when it was supposed to be inside. No, it had been there when it had happened, too—when the hardwired instinct his subconscious dedicated to protecting his brother had also made him reach for Red the moment he realised the other Ryusoulger was in danger. It had been there after, too when Kou wobbled on his feet and he’d found himself catching the boy before he’d even started to fall. It’s here now, like a jab in his ribs every time he feels Red’s breathing weaken, or the way the boy’s cheek is cool against the side of his neck. The overbearing need to protect, the one etched deep into his bones, that he feels for Touwa seems to slowly be spreading to Kou, too.
And that was never supposed to happen.
Softness has never really been in his nature. The only gentleness he’s ever been capable of before was always for Touwa’s sake—his everything, the one part of his life deserving of such care. But here he is, carrying someone else, someone wounded, through a hostile environment—someone he’d warned just a few hours earlier in the day that he’d leave him behind if it suited him—without a second thought.
And if his protective instincts can reach Kou, then it’s possible they could reach the other two as well—or they already have, without his even realising. He’s not sure which scares him more.
When it was just Touwa, it was easier. He could watch him, keep him safe. But with all four of them… The chances of something happening are higher Something like this.
Then Kou groans again, and shifts against him. The boy’s in shock, and there’s only so much he can do in their current situation. He needs to get them somewhere safer, and soon—Red’s fading heartbeat a ticking clock against his back.
He can work out the details later. In this moment, his only priority is keeping Kou alive.
And damned what happens to him in the process.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again.
Banba is gonna end this damn series w/ four younger siblings and there is nothing he can do about it.

Okay...
... Stress reliever.
Let’s overanalyse the Ryusoulger episode 3 preview (+images)! ^^
Well, let’s at least ramble about the pictures?
I’m gonna cut it here, though, bc this is gonna be a long post. (Also, I do talk about a short summary for ep 4 I saw at the end--it was just a one sentence summary, though)
First off!
Tumblr media
Lookit the boys! XD Banba’s being all majestic, and it looks like Touwa’s trying to be cool. Well... Maybe trying a little too hard, bc there’s another preview image that has a larger shot of this scene...
Tumblr media
Touwa, honey. Don’t climb on walls. Get out of the bushes. Anyway, onward to the rest of this scene!
Tumblr media
Okay. So. This is pretty self explanatory. Clearly, the brothers show up and intercede in the fight against Medusa. But the thing that stands out to me here is that I don’t see Kou in this image. Could be he’s off screen, as in this preview image...
Tumblr media
... He’s shown fighting with the others. However, this appears to be a different location than the one in the other image. Which becomes clearer if we look at this preview image:
Tumblr media
No Kou. Melto and Asuna appear to be in the same positions as the first image, and we can see a wall similar to the one Touwa was standing on in the earlier image as well. This seems to be them talking after the brothers have driven Medusa off--Touwa looks like he’s being a little obnoxious, to boot, as well. Oh, honey. Anyway, it looks like, while the trio do all fight Medusa together at some point, Melto and Asuna end up taking her on w/out Kou, as well; that also makes the above image of all three fighting Medusa difficult to place in the timeline of the ep. Uncertain if this is the first time they meet the brothers--given the body language in the first images, I would hazard a guess as to yes.
Bc this is gonna have too many images already, I won’t be including the identifying close ups of the brothers, but it looks like they also com from this scene. There’s some shots in the preview and pictures of the brothers fighting the Druidon which also appear to be from this scene.
Speaking of chronologically, though, I think this scene would probably come soonest after the above:
Tumblr media
Touwa, don’t poke at things you find on the ground w/ your sword. That’s dangerous. Sorry, Ui, I was trying to make a joke. DX Anyway, this looks like a recipe for misunderstanding. Maybe it’s denial, but I don’t think there’s enough context to know what’s going on here. Could very well be Touwa’s just trying to see if she’s conscious or something. Though I would feel better if he didn’t do that w/ a sword. Not sure how Ui ended up in the same place as the brothers, though. Maybe she followed them? After finally locating the other Ryusoulgers, it’s likely the trio didn’t want to lose track of them--alternatively, Melto and Asuna informed Kou, and Ui found out from him when he got overexcited. Or it was just a coincidence. The preview does show her collapsing into Asuna’s arms, but that’s hard to place in the timeline, again. My guess is that Kou, or all three of them, follow either the brothers or Ui and came in at the wrong time. Looks like a great first meeting for everyone.
I put that scene as being next chronologically, is that Ui is wearing the same clothes as in the preview image where she’s hugging her father--which also includes a blanket and couch we see in this:
Tumblr media
Given everyone’s placement and the fact that Banba is holding his RyusoulKen, I suspect this moment comes after--possibly immediately after--that preview image of Kou holding Banba’s arm. And, in all likelihood, these:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Moments come after that as well. Not sure in what order, though. Looks like the top one, at least, is definitely the same room as the first from another angle. The third one could be as well, but I’m not really sure how that shelf Banba is leaning on would have avoided notice until now. Anyway, tensions are clearly rather high, to say the least. Even Kou’s upset, though Touwa seems fairly relaxed, esp in that last image. Banba’s judging everyone, but he seems to have been doing that all episode, so that’s nothing new.
What I’m guessing is that the brothers agree to let the trio try to beat Medusa before they try anything. I’m still assuming there’s some level of poor communication, here--probably mostly on the brothers’ end bc Banba’s too grumpy to communicate, esp w/ people as happy and cheerful as these three, and Touwa seems to be pretty uncommunicative in his own way, too. Given their established reluctance for teamwork, seems likely they’re being difficult and it’s not helping their case much. ^^ And possibly coming off as scarier/meaner than they actually are (though that’s probably intentional on Banba’s part).
There’s shots of 3Knights fighting Medusa, the aforementioned Asuna catching Ui--and a shot of Kou and Melto transforming w/out Asuna, which could be happening at the same time as the latter.
One shot that does interest me in the trailer--which isn’t actually in the YouTube version--though, is this one:
Tumblr media
This could be the brothers talking to each other--Banba is focusing on Touwa, but the way Touwa is looking over his shoulder makes it seem like there could be a third person. Maybe that hooded person from the end of last ep? Or maybe they’re talking about that guy and Touwa’s just double checking they’re not being watched? Alternatively, it could be someone else entirely. Also could be this is them arriving at the city early in the episode. Or it could be them discussing what happened at the end. There’s no way to tell when this takes place.
Also, my impression has been that the boys didn’t know about the other three? So maybe they only come across them by accident, or the hooded person tells them? Admittedly, we don’t know that the hooded person knows about the trio, either, but I wouldn’t put it past them to have found out and we didn’t see it yet. Maybe they were hiding just off screen or in plain sight? Who knows.
In conclusion, the brothers seem to be very guarded, direct, and rather extreme. My guess is that they suffered something very similar to what the trio did before, and are just reacting to/coping w/ it in almost the opposite way. I doubt they’re gonna have a Sentai hero or heroes actually try to murder an innocent person--or, at least, they’ll make it clear that they couldn’t actually go through w/ it, even if they say they could; and they’re definitely not going to have them actually want to do so. I will concede that I might be in denial.  But I do also think that, given that the tag for ep 4 is Kou trying to make friends w/ them, it’s very doubtful they’re going to go that far. I mean, Kou is a big hearted, lovable dork, but I find it unlikely he’d forgive anyone he thought would be actually willing to kill an innocent person--meaning that, despite clearly clashing w/ Banba a bit, he’ll have to come to the conclusion that they’re good guys by the end of the episode. So...
Anyway. Digital red bean paste buns for anyone who actually read all of this nonsense. I really wish the week would got faster I’m excited for the next episode, and I’m really curious now--I wanna know what hooded person’s deal is, and what the brothers backstory is.
Still gonna cry when we finally get the full ‘five swords of justice’ speech and full-team henshin. Bc I am a big baby. XD
