Body's mom tried to tell us we're going to church with them tomorrow and I'm fucking furious about it. I reminded her that we're converting to Judaism and said no, we're not going to church, and she got all exasperated about it, going on about "it's Christmas! You can sit with your family!" So I asked her if she would go to Hannukah services with us, reminding her that the body's dad explicitly said they wouldn't, quote, "spin the dreidel" with us when we told them about our conversion, and she said she doesn't have an answer.

Worth noting, Hannukah is also the "they tried to convert us but we survived!" holiday. I'm so fucking mad.

this kind of thing would probably be impossible to backtag but i wonder what it would be like if the [theme: media] tag was somehow separated into general (concepts related to media, like the concept of music or movies or something itself along with types, tropes, genres, etc) and specific ("blorbo from my shows", characters and concepts from specific fictional worlds) but i dont mean this as an infohazard and i dont want you to feel like you have to go and backtag all of that

Out of curiousity I checked how many posts this would be to backtag.

20,286 posts. We currently have 20,286 posts with the "theme: media" tag.

Unfortunately, I doubt we'll be able to do this.

That said, it does appeal to us, and we've had the same idea before. And I know that most of the posts in that tag are in that tag because of more specific media. So, theoretically, while we can't split the tag into "general media" and "specific media", we might be able to add a new "general media" tag and simply add that to posts without touching the pre-existing "theme: media" tag.

It would take a long time, especially since we already have at least a dozen backtagging projects we're woefully behind on, but it's possible.

Would this be worth it? Would people get use out of something like that?

From the FFA thread on characters' social media:

Marcus has two completely separate accounts, one for completely family safe sedate book and poetry opinions, like a Goodreads style reading log with very mild opinions. The other one is full of unhinged theater fandom takes and gifs of pretty twinks getting railed.

Pre-annexation Kal's is all very sedate landscapes and arty still life photos, same of his paintings in progress. Maybe also a very secret side account solely for liking other people's travel photos. Post-annexation pre- getting back with Marcus it's wall to wall thirst trap photos of himself, more ambitious works in progress, and liking cat photos. Post- back with Marcus it's cat photos and Marcus looking very cozy and domestic with some wips.

Eubelia's and Calla's are social justice issues of the day, often on the same side but with wildly different vibes. Teunis has some of that but also his own unhinged theater fandom takes and talking positively with Marcus' secret theater fandom account about fic.

Cyril's is a pinterest full of positive affirmations, cute baby outfits, embroidery patterns, and crafts he's looking forward to doing when baby is a toddler.
