Wish you were sober
Character: Timeskip!Sugawara x Reader Genre: Fluff to Angst to Fluff again (Hurt/comfort) Warnings: alcohol WC: 1.1k+ Writer:@white-poppie
~ Synopsis: "God how I wish what you say is true, but how do I believe you when you are drunk?"
A/n: I am the bartender by the way :/ It's because of me yall are together. You are welcome *cries in single*
𝟷𝟷 : 𝟷𝟷
Why does a human's heart torment them so? Why do you need a purge to eliminate your unwieldy emotions that blossom out of nowhere?
"You should call someone to pick you up," the bartender scrunched his brows, "it's really late and you've drunk too much."
You pout and fidget in your purse to find your phone, pausing when you remember the actual reason for your state.
Would you much rather be passed out on the cold road than call your co-worker to pick you up? The co-worker for who you had a tsunami of feelings hidden?
You take a deep breath and press the 'call' button.
He picks up after 4 rings. His voice all syrupy and raspy that sends a swarm of butterflies in your belly.
"Hello?"
"You sound shoo hot," you giggle bashfully, swinging your legs as the bartender tries not to snort.
"Y/N are you drunk?" he clears his throat in embarrassment and asks.
"Only a littol bit," you say and he can almost hear the pout in your voice. Quite adorable in all honesty.
A quick shuffling of cloth is heard from the other side, accompanied by the clanking of keys, "where are you right now?"
You hazily look at the bartender and speak, "I am with an old, weird-looking man right now, it's dark here."
The bartender's eyes widen at how wrongly your words could be interpreted.
Suga's movements halt by your words, the heart suddenly beating faster in concern, "Y/N are you okay? What's going on?"
The agitated bartender snatches the phone from your hand despite your protests. The 'no' and 'give it back' made Suga even more anxious than before.
"Hello, kind sir..uh...I am a bartender at 'Heaven's delight bar' and I think your significant other is not in their right mind," he side-eyed you, "for now at least. Please pick them up as soon as possible, I'll message you the location through this number only."
Suga sighs in relief completely ignoring the fact that he called you his 's/o', "Thank you, I'll be there in a few minutes, please take care of them till then."
The grip he had on the steering wheel was chummy, palms so sweaty that the leather of the wheel was coated with precipitation.
He shut the car door like it was a mere piece of plastic, walking into the bar with quick strides. The smell of booze, alcohol and sweat made him dizzy. His eyes crinkling in relief once he noticed you.
The bartender visibly relaxed as he saw him walking towards you.
"Are you their s/o?" he asked.
A visible blush crept onto his face, "Not yet...I mean no!"
He sighed and pointed at you, “take them home, young man.”
Suga fidgeted with his wallet before he was stopped, “they have already payed.”
Koushi bowed in respect, “thank you for taking care of them sir.”
He tapped you gently, “L/N, let’s go.”
You slowly opened your eyes, squinting to adjust to the lighting, “Suga~” you stretched his name, “you look like a snack right now.”
His eyes widened at how…forward you got while drunk, before you uttered any other nonsense, he had you lifted up through you arms.
“There you go,” he said a little strained, “just lean on me.”
You squealed in delight as you leaned. His heart thumped due to the close proximity between the two of you.
“Is it the alcohol or are your eyes always this pretty,” you laughed.
"Its the alchohol," he said, "my eyes are really boring."
With great care he had you sit in the car somehow. Your head lolled towards his side, yet the silly grin that adorned your face shined brighter than any satellite in the dim night sky.
He was petrified like a stone, looking at your face as if you would dissipate if he blinked. You had absolutely no idea of the mark you had on him, he had spent the last few months yearning for you like some parched man seeking chaste pleasures.
"Koushi," you pulled him by his collar, and a small squeak of surprise left his mouth. His hand was planted on the car wall beside you, preventing him to topple over your intoxicated self.
He cleared his throat and moved away, tucked you in with theseatbelt and drove towards your house. The first few minutes of the ride were silent, he didn't say anything but soon his nerves got the best of him and he made a stop.
"So this is why you have been smelling of booze," he questioned,""You know alcohol won't solve your problems""
You chuckled almost soberly and looked at him, "indeed. Its because I cannot handles the problems I am facing now while being sober."
His brows scrunched into one straight line, "what do you mean."
"God, can't you just leave me alone!? This is my burden to carry, not yours!" you shouted angrily.
"Do you expect me to just leave you alone in- in this state? Itt kills me to see you like this!" he shouted back.
"So I've killed you huh?" you joked, "makes sense why you cant *hic* see me."
You grit your teeth and muttered silently, or so the alcohol made you think, "you are the problem."
"What?" he tilted his head in confusion.
You let out a sound that was a mix between a groan and a giggle. You unbuckled your seatbelt and leaned to catch his lips in yours.
Suga was petrified like a stone. While you were snogging his face, it took all the human effort to pull you down and caress you like he dreamt of.
Wrong
Wrong
Wrong
This was so wrong.
He broke from the kiss and looked down, at his jaw. clenched and voice angry, "this wasn't supposed to happen, this wrong, you are drunk-"
His blabbering was cut off by your soft sobs, "'M sorry Kou. I-didn't. Oh god I love you-I am sorry."
Without thinking his arms quickly enveloped you, "Calm down, okay?"
You nodded softly on the crook of his neck. He sighed as he played with your hair, "I can't believe I am about to ask this to a drunk person even though your answer might change if you are sober. But if I don't get a yes now I will never be able to muster the courage."
His voice broke as he spoke, the intense splurge of emotions watering down, "God I have no idea what I am even doing, I am so pathetic."
You pulled away from the hug and cupped his face, "Koushi whether I am drunk or not, my answer stays the same."
"The reason I have been getting drunk is that I crave and think of you so much and we are not even together, it hurts me."
Suga removed your hand from his face and kissed your wrist right above the veins, "I am yours."

Ok K-Pop fans, I have a question:
Who are considered to be the best dancers in K-pop?
Individuals, I mean, though if there are groups that are considered "the dancer group" I'm curious about that as well. I'm specifically talking about movement quality and skill, not choreography, though I'd also love to hear about your favorite choreo.
Thank you!
#kpop#dance#questions tossed into the void#i've been curious about this for a while but falling down the#koharu sugawara#rabbit hole brought it to the forefront

Rolling Stones selected SHINee's Lucifer & TAEMIN'S MOVE in their TOP 100 Greatest Songs in KPOP history.
After having a monster debut with “Replay,” SHINee established themselves as one of K-pop’s most respected boy groups for their boundary-pushing production and performance concepts. Their daring aesthetics are exemplified by the punchy electro-pop hit “Lucifer,” whose insistent chorus likens an angel-faced lover to the devil herself — not to mention a co-writing credit for a then-18-year-old Bebe Rexha. While its unison-sung refrain is immediately sticky, its verses and post-chorus allow each member to showcase the individual personalities that make SHINee such a commanding act. —M.J.
Having already made an impact as the wunderkind of forward-thinking boy group SHINee, Taemin opened doors for androgynous expression in K-pop with his 2017 solo single, “Move.” Combining Eighties New Wave synths with sensual R&B melodies, the pulsating track captures delicately shifting dynamics between lovers. “Your elegant gestures/your subtle gaze,” he whisper-sings, building a sense of enigmatic seduction. These phrases were set to moves by choreographer Koharu Sugawara that are equally fluid; Taemin said his intention was to “[mix] both feminine and masculine movements together.” Though the song wasn’t a commercial smash, its genderless choreography became a sensation among idols and dancers, and it remains iconic for its alternative representation of sexuality. —M.H.K.

✨ 160907 - Taemin’s interview with “COMO” magazine
This summer, Taemin started his first solo career in Japan. He usually works with the reliable members as a member of SHINee, so he thought that his solo work would be a good thing, but he seems to be unexpectedly popular?
Taemin: No, it would be lonely. When I’m in the dressing room, I sometimes wonder “Why isn't everyone here?”. However, I want to get along with the staff around me and spend a lot of time chatting with them, so it’s ok. I think I can do it. (laughs)
The staff burst out laughing at Taemin’s words. The members aren’t here, but the bond with the staff seems to support Taemin. In fact, during the interview, the staff quickly took notes of Japanese words that Taemin couldn’t catch, and later gave feedback to him.
Taemin: I don’t have much confidence in my Japanese, but I’ll do my best to improve through my activities. Actually, even in Korea, I tend not to talk in interviews, but thanks to this activity, I have more opportunities to talk alone, and I’m able to talk more and more. If I don’t speak, no one will speak for me (laughs).
Taemin: That’s about the only thing that has changed from normal, but I don’t think there are many things that are different. Whether it’s with the members or working alone, I work hard just as much. However, I still feel the pressure of being a soloist. SHINee has 5 people, so I wondered how I could fill the same amount of energy as just 1 person. I haven’t solved it yet, but I’m looking for a way. SHINee is my greatest pride.
Taemin: When I was preparing this album (Sayonara Hitori), I didn’t have many chances to meet the members, so I didn’t receive any advice from them. But we’ve been together for about 10 years now, so I don’t think we need more words. Even if we don’t talk about it, we know each other. Each one goes their own way, and that’s fine.
This album also has the charm of a Taemin that couldn’t yet be seen in SHINee. In particular, the title track ‘Sayonara Hitori’ is a song that Taemin fell in love with when he asked for it.
Taemin: The moment I heard the melody of ‘Sayonara Hitori’, I felt like I wanted to sing that song. I liked it so much that I talked with the producer about it. The Asian style melody lines are impressive, but I’ve always wondered how I can express myself in the world.
Taemin: I think the dance also expressed the world of the lyrics well. Although it’s an intense dance, it has a choreography that delicately incorporates emotions. For example, in the case of a song like ‘Everybody’, I put more emphasis on strong dance than lyrics, but for ‘Sayonara Hitori’, there was a strong sense of swaying, and I thought it wouldn’t fit just for me. I wanted to dance while cherishing the songs. Koharu Sugawara, who choreographed this song, had the same idea as me, and she thought about how to express the world view of the song through dance, and I really liked it.
Taemin: This mini-album contains a total of 5 songs, but I’m sure that even small children will like ‘Final Dragon’. I myself was embarrassed about the first part, and I was worried whether I could do well during the recording (laughs).
Taemin: Someday, when I can do a concert on my own, I want to create a stage where I can sympathize with everyone. Where we can sing and have fun together. But when I want to concentrate and sing, I want everyone to listen carefully (laughs).
— What were you like when you were a child?
Taemin: I was the kind of kid who would go out to play and wouldn’t come home until my mom came to call me. And I was mischievous. For example, flushing the water while my brother was in the bathroom (laughs). I didn’t get yelled at so much because I was quick to escape. It was like that until I was about 7 years old. But even now, I secretly hide behind doors and surprise the members. I’ve always had good motor skills, and I was the kind of kid who could climb anywhere. Also, because of my popularity among girls... When I was walking with my mother, I was always surrounded by older girls I didn’t know. But for me, it was natural, and I never felt that I was particularly popular (laughs). I was an introvert, so I always hid behind my mom.
— What kind of dad do you think you will be in the future?
Taemin: If I had a son, I would like to be an exemplary dad who would be a good role model for him. I want to be and inspiration for them as they grow up. But rather than strictly disciplining them, I want to raise my child so that they can always feel happy. That’s why I want to leave the scolding part to the mom (laughs). What an unfair dad (laughs). If it’s a girl, I think it’s going to take more time than a son, and I think there’s a delicate side, so I’m going to be very careful. Whether it’s a boy or a girl, I want to be the kind of parent that when my kids are asked: “Do you like mom or dad the most?” they’ll answer “I like dad the most!”. Although I can’t choose between my parents, I like both of them (laughs).
— What would your ideal family be like?
Taemin: I think there will be fights sometimes, but I want to have a family where the happiness that each person envisions is pointing in one direction, and we can walk together toward happiness, and we can think of each other as our greatest ally. My family isn’t that clingy, and I started out in society early on, so it’s more like a group of people who go their own way. I also want my child to do the work they want to do. Even if they choose the same path as me, I would like to support them if they seem to become something from my point of view. I want to teach them everything I know, and I want to do my best to support them in what they want to do.
— How would you like your child to dress/look like?
Taemin: If it’s a boy, I would like him to dress neatly, someting like an English-style set-up suit. Like a British child model (laughs). Trying on jeans, sunglasses, hair styles and makeup. I’d also like to try matching outfits. If it’s a girl, I would like her to be dressed like a doll. Can I take a look at this? (He looks at the samples in a magazine carefully, but it seems that it’s difficult to find it) Would it be a bit exaggerated if it’s a dress? But I really would like to raise her with femininity. On the other hand, what if she grows up a tomboy? I think I will look back on my childhood and reflect on it. Even my parents had such a hard time raising their children (laughs).

Raul - Everchanging
Changes that happened around me
The system changed; people are now adults at 18 years old (versus the old system where people in Japan are considered an adult when they turn 20 years old). Even though the members and the staff kindly said “Congratulations on being an adult!”, I don’t really feel like it’s real. There are also no changes in me as of now. I want to have adaptability and responsiveness to various changes. I want to properly live as myself even if I suddenly lose my job tomorrow. Conversely, I might like changes in the environment. I also like moving houses. If anything, I seek new stimuli as something that will be good for me.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Something that hasn’t changed at all since before
Human relationships. I’m very close to specific people. I don’t get along with everyone but it’s not because I’m closing them off. I feel happy when I meet people I think are interesting; that’s why I want to get close to them. Something that hasn’t changed at all since about 3 years ago is my large water intake. The reason is simple: my throat gets thirsty (laughs). I don’t think about continuing to do it that’s why I think, on the contrary, I kept on doing it. I can easily drink 2 liters in 1 day! I drink flavored carbonated drinks for pleasure; I drink water to live.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A view or scene that moved you and is still engraved in your heart
When they played Moriyama Naotaro-san’s (singer-songwriter) song and Sugawara Koharu-san (dancer, choreographer, and model) performed a dance with 3 dancers on the same show we performed “Brother Beat” on Music Station. We didn’t watch that through a monitor; we saw it live. I think that was this year’s best view. I like the dance video a lot. I watched Sugawara-san’s dances a lot but watching them live is 100 times better! I was able to realize again how good watching performances live is, and I was happy to be able to be in that place.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Daily conversations between members
Koji-kun and Sakuma-kun imitate anime characters. They do it frequently so I get curious and watch the anime, and when I do I realize that their imitations are totally off the mark. Furthermore, they were imitating a cute girl-type character but their imitations weren’t cute at all. I want them to show self-restraint (laughs). Also, I think my teasing Shoppi (Watanabe) is an everyday scene. I want to tease him because he’s cute. It’s really interesting how Shoppi doesn’t find it bothersome and just says “Oi!” and pretends that he’s angry (laughs).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recent Talk
There is also my graduation, so the busy days are continuing. I’m mostly inside the room that’s why I intentionally go out during my breaks to take in the sunlight and refresh! I space out on my veranda when I’m alone, or talk if I’m with Meguro-kun. Unexpectedly, there are a few opportunities for us to be alone together and talk.
