This is just a fraction of the illustrations of Richard Knötel on wikimedia commons. They aren’t all French uniforms, they are from all the European nations and different eras.

Knotel is sued by Rubicon for unpaid rent of $ 150,000 in Atlanta 2020
Knotel is sued by Rubicon for unpaid rent of $ 150,000 in Atlanta 2020
A tenant in Atlanta, who sublet space in the Salesforce Tower to Knotel at the end of last year, is suing the company for over $ 150,000 in unpaid rent.
The tenant also wants to boot the provider of flexible work areas from the almost 25,000 square meter area.
A building contractor has now filed a lien against the building of nearly $ 80,000 that Knotel owes for the work on the room.
The debts…

Is Knotel poised to turn WeWork from a Unicorn into an Icarus?
Is Knotel poised to turn WeWork from a Unicorn into an Icarus?
The day of reckoningfor the ‘flexible office space as a startup’ is coming, and it’s coming up fast. WeWork’s IPO filing has fired the starting gun on the race to become the game-changer both in the future of property and real estate but also the future of how we live and work. As Churchill once said, ‘we shape our buildings and afterwards our buildings shape us’.
Until recently WeWork was…

German painter of the Red Army- Herbert KNOTEL (1893-1963)
I really appreciate this painter's watercolor style. I can tell he painted these soldiers live, which is an incredible feat. I will annotate which soldiers are portrayed in the painting the best I could, from left to right, in chronological order. Some of his works come from this source, with an introduction-
Herbert was born in 1893 in Berlin, then the capital of old Hohenzollern Prussia ... he was the son of renowned uniformologist and military historian Richard Knötel (1857-1914).
Herbert found himself as an officer in the Prussian Army and, assigned to Hindenburg’s 1st Army was wounded at Tannenburg during WWI. He finished the war as a Hauptmann in a horse cavalry unit on the Eastern Front.
1921 political commissar of the Red Army infantry unit 1924 Winter Cavalry 1932 Engineer
1935-1938 Infantry Lieutenant 1936-1943 Infantry First Class 1933 Infantry Private First Class
1938-1943 Staff Sergeant, Air Force Ground Service Department 1938-1943 Army Lieutenant General 1938-1943 Artillery Colonel

Sir, Might I Suggust sending your Nephew to Serve with a Regiment stationed in the Subcontinent. The rather Dreary and Inhospitable environs of this D~mned place might Cool the Fires of Youthful Adventure, and perhaps Instill some Sense into your Nephew. Do make sure not to Commission him with an East Indies Co. Regiment, for they are perplexingly more Debases then H.R.H's Dragoon Guards could ever Aspire to be.
My Dear Sjt Sellar–
It Pains me to hear you are Still Stranded in that Wretched Heat! May you Return Home Soon, and in Good Health. It is Often Said Hardship builds a Man’s Character, and it was on That Account which I believed the Service may prove Edifying for my Nephew. The Problems with finding Another Assignation, however, lie with my Inability to Afford a Commission for Him; My Acceptance of HRH’s Offer (Unless his Feelings Change regarding Yours Truly); And my Nephew’s disinterest in Ambition Generally, which I Now Understand was only Dissipated by the Promise of Profligacy Beyond his Usual Scope. The Situation is Deplorable–but an Answer shall be Found.
Yours &tc,The Editor.

Mild Annoyances of a Person Who Just Wants Napoleonic Content
Writers who want to slam in too much unnecessary untranslated French for flavor text. =_= Like why in god’s name was it necessary to use the French word for table settings for saying Lasalle let his officers pop in for dinner. I dunno maybe it’s my background but like.... it’s not cool when weeaboos slam Japanese unnecessarily into everything. I don’t need this oui-aboo nonsense either making me need to google terms or overthink what the hell the writer thinks they’re doing instead of having a flowing read. I’m a slow and pathetic reader already without these sorts of complications. 4th grade baby Kaxen’s ability to read 125 books in a semester is long dead.
OUT OF PRINT BOOKS AND HECKING EXPENSIVE BOOKS FULL OF OLD ILLUSTRATIONS THAT ARE PROBABLY PUBLIC DOMAIN BY NOW uuuugghgghghhdjghdfjghdc
.......I have half a thought to buy and scan old books for the good of scholarly curiosity I guess? The world deserves Free Uniform Porn.
I kind of want Knotel’s illustrations, but jesus christ all 4 volumes is exppeensssiiiivvvvvveeee. Knotel isn’t my fave uniform artist, but he sure did make a lot of them. Each volume is like $150-$250.
