Had either object been on their own, Kirk might not have looked so disapproving but he downright frowned at the small white pill sitting innocently aside the glass of whiskey, ice clinking as he picked up the drink. "You shouldn't mix alcohol with medication. Even a single unit can significantly increase the effects that bezodiazepines have on the central nervous system and worsen each other's side effects." Dizziness. Excessive drowsiness. Reduced motor control, falls and other injuries. Erratic behaviour and even death were just a few of the side effects that could arise as a result from abusing drugs and alcohol together, and Kirk didn't even want to begin to imagine the impact it could have on somebody significantly smaller and lighter than the US average. Not that he was about to preach that to the young woman sitting before him. No doubt she knew about that already otherwise why would she even carry the pills to start with? Let alone down a shot of whiskey like it's only water. Bringing the glass to his lips, he took a sip. Kirk wasn't a great drinker at the best of times even ice added, but it was cooling in the overly warm room and soothed his dry mouth for the moment. The xanax remained exactly where Mary left it, stamped words twinkling ominiously beneath the neon lights of the club.
