Casual reminder that I have a Patreon set up to support and monetize The Legend of Gamiserun, where you can get early-bird glimpses and WIPs of pages as they go. If you pledge at least $5, you can even get a character cameo at some point in the story!
You can also read TLoG over on SmackJeeves, which is currently the only site that it’s on at the moment.

Races and Their REAL Influences
Radians - Radians take their inspiration from therianthropy, which is the mythological ability to shapeshift between human beings and animals. Much like the real-world therianthropy, the most common Radian sub-species are canines (specifically dogs and wolves), followed by foxes and felines (cats).
Feliolms - Pretty straightforward. Feliolms are inspired by the Bakeneko, the cat-like yokai from Japanese mythology. Like the Bakeneko, Feliolms are capable of human speech as well as standing on two legs. They also have the ability to shapeshift, although unlike the Bakeneko, a Feliolm’s shapeshifting can differ from Feliolm to Feliolm.
Strelitz - Strelitz have a loose inspiration from the Harpies of Greek and Roman mythology. The influence is actually a lot more vague, as Strelitz are much more bird-like in comparison to Harpies, but they still have that minor connection regardless. The close thing I can think of is that they’re anthro bird aliens who can shift their arms to wings at will.
Myrjah - This one is a bit of a stretch, but I’ve always intended the Myrjah to be more closely related to the Undines, water nymphs from Greek mythology that appear in alchemical writings. This is also pretty important because alchemy plays quite a vital role in Tales of Radium (even if it’s indirect), and the gender ratio for female Myrjahs to male is 3:1, similarly to how Undines are almost always female.
Oremillo - Hoo boy, this one! Originally, I had planned to make them lizard-like beings, which would have caused them to draw inspiration from the salamander, an amphibian that’s usually associated with fire according to the alchemical writings, but I went for an armadillo-like appearance instead. The one remnant of the original concept that these guys carry are the jewel-like scales, which are actually made from iron rather than rock. They also have fluffy manes and their gender difference is based on that of real-world lions. Similarly to the Myrjah, the gender ratio for female Oremillos to male is 1:3, and they have the highest homosexuality rate of all races like male bats. Also, the name is a portmanteau of “ore”, “mine” and “armadillo”.
Faebois - Dryads, super-shy tree spirits from Greek mythology. ‘Nuff said.
Hybrids - Hybrids are closer to Chimeras than anything, to be honest, although the connection is rather weak (actual Chimeras do exist in Radium, but there is only one of its kind). Hybrids are scorned in the Auroria region as well as some other areas in Radium due to their “monstrous appearances” resulting from their mixed heritage, which is why there are so few of them. While Hybrids do indeed bear physical traits of their parents, most of them are known for having birth defects. Roderick’s defect is that his wings are separate from his arms, giving him six limbs, and his colours never change when he shapeshifts.

Breeding Notes
Of all the races in Radium, only Radians, Strelitz and Myrjah have evolved from their animal ancestors. Faebois are evolutions of plants and trees while Feliolms and Oremillos are basically beasts resembling cats and armadillos rather than having evolved from them
Radians have an incredibly human-like appearance save for two characteristics: distinctive pointed ears, and the ability to shift into an animal, known commonly as a “Beast Form”. Most Radians have a single physical trait in common with their beast form, though they may also choose to hide said trait if they so wish. Some Radians may also display non-apparent traits, such as more prominent canine teeth seen mostly in canine-based Radians such as foxes, dogs and wolves
All races are capable of interbreeding, though this results in the offspring sharing both physical traits of their parents and therefore being a Hybrid. For instance, if a female Faebois and a male Oremillo were to get married and have children, the offspring would mostly be Faebois, but would inherit several physical traits of their Oremillo father, such as being blind and inheriting the long, shovel-like claws and jewel-like scales
Radians can only interbreed with either another Radian or a human. If a cat Radian and a bear Radian were to breed, then the child will inherit the traits of one or the other, but not both. If that same cat or bear Radian breeds with a human, then the offspring will still retain the standard abilities of a Radian, at the cost of the ability to shift into their beast form
Radians are also capable of interbreeding with one another. If a tiger Radian and lion Radian get married, the offspring will become a Liger Radian; however, that Radian will be unable to reproduce. Comparatively, a Cocker Spaniel Radian and a Basset Hound Radian can interbreed to create a Hush Basset Radian, which will be able to reproduce like the animal it’s based on

More Radium Notes
- Radium is counted by the cycles of the moon, not in years like our world. Each of the moon’s eight phases corresponds to each of the four seasons
- The four seasons are Theran (spring), Ferno (summer), Sonas (autumn) and Glacia (winter). Each season passes for every two phases of the moon
In Theran, the moon will be in its first quarter and waxing gibbous phases
In Ferno, the moon will be in its full and waning gibbous phases
In Sonas, the moon will be in its third quarter and waning crescent phases
In Glacia, the moon will be in its new and waxing crescent phases
- Radium is divided into four regions. Thetopia (formerly known as Journalius prior to the Great War) is to the east and is home to the capital city of Journalius, which is only accessible by sky travel. Chellupia is Thetopia's western cousin, primarily covered in forests and mountains. To the far west is a mighty volcano that is said to be the only entrance to the Underworld, home to the exiled Divine Dragon Tenebrae. Southern Radium houses Letezia, a tropical region that contains mostly underwater cities constructed by the Myrjah, though there are a few above-ground villages, such as Oricorio (might change the name later) from Siren's Shackle and Norhaven from the isolated Meran Desert. Up north is the isolated region of Auroria, populated by only the hardiest of people who have adapted to the harsh, cold wilderness. As a result, the only city in Auroria, Cerivia also stands as the capital city of the region
- Each region has a mixture of varying levels of influence, culture, rituals, art style (visually and musically), clothing style, food, hierarchy, etc. However, they all speak the same language regardless of which region you're from
- There are Nightmare Zones, areas scattered hither-tither throughout Radium that have been appearing since the Great War. They are generally giant, egg-shaped areas that serve as the birthplaces of the monsters that roam Radium. They're also cursed areas, forcing Radians to turn into their beast forms, disabling the Feliolms' shape-shifting and colour-changing abilities and even transforming humans into an animal that best corresponds to their personality. Any effects the Nightmare Zones have on Strelitz, Myrjah, Oremillos and Faebois is unknown, but it has been known that robots and Hybrids are immune to the curse

I dunno if I’ll draw any pics of the ships I have under my belt. Like, I actually have a few, specifically:
Zolanther (Zola X Anther)
Selina (Seliph X Lucina)
Ashneon (Ashtar X Neon)
Yachigo (Yang X Ichigo; platonic)
There’s one more ship I have for Seeking Tranquility, but I don’t really want to reveal it since it’s quite spoiler-y (unless you want me to do it!)
The only thing I want for Valentine’s Day is a cute pic of my Torracat Pokésona cuddling up with a certain someone’s Linoone Pokésona. That is all.

Races of Radium
Human -  Humans are, simply put, your everyday human being, all appearing in various skin colours, cultures and even genders (including non-binary). They are able to wield the power of the Dragon Chakras unlike the humans in our world; however, because their Dragon Chakras are not attuned to their bodies, the Dragon Chakra is unable to persist after death the way a human soul would. Still, they’re pretty hardy compared to most other races, so you shouldn’t really underestimate them.
Robot -  Unlike humans, robots come in a variety of different shapes and sizes, with some of them even taking on a human-like appearance (although the latter is believed to be just a rumor). They are also unique in which they do not have a free will compared to the other races, but they do have an advanced AI programming that still enables them to think, feel and make their own decisions…they just still have the ground rules to obey. What kind of ground rules, you may ask? Why, none other than Isaac Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics, of course: 1. Never harm a human being; 2. Always obey orders unless said orders conflict with the First Law; and 3. Always protect your own existence as long as such protection doesn’t conflict with the First and Second Laws. Since the story of The Legend of Gamiserun is set in the time period of the Industrial Revolution, it would have to make sense for mechanical beings to make SOME sort of appearance, right (even though the technology is a little too advanced to fit in the IR, but whatever.)
Radian - Radians are a peaceful race that make up a vast majority of Radium’s entire population, and are therefore the most common. Many Radians have had a long-standing relationship with the other races, and hold true to their beliefs in the Divine Dragons no matter what. They are able to adapt to almost any environment and are unique in which their Dragon Chakra is the strongest of all living creatures, being able to persist even after death. The Radians originally built the Kingdom of Journalius as a way to express their gratitude towards the Divine Dragons and Gamiserun, and have long served the Journalian royal family that ruled in ages past, up until the Great War. Though Radians look incredibly human, their actual appearances come in the form of animals. In fact, there are old tales saying that Radians evolved from their animal ancestors when the planet was still young, having been gifted the power to live as humans. Due to this, Radians are very diverse and come in all shapes and sizes, both in human form and in beast form.
Feliolm - A race of highly intelligent cat-like beasts that were once a rare find living only in Brightvale Forest from the region of Chellupia. Feliolms are now found commonplace, having gained the ability to thrive almost anywhere, while still retaining their rarity. Unlike most races, Feliolms rarely use their Dragon Chakra magic unless it’s to defend themselves. Instead, they rely on their stealth and cunning to outmaneuver and outlast opponents and predators alike. Feliolms are natural shapeshifters, being able to change into just about anything they set their mind to, so long as they have the right amount of aura required to do so. Some Feliolms have also been reported to change their colours to blend in with their surroundings, at the cost of being able to shapeshift. They are a people who are on a constant pursuit of knowledge no matter how forbidden it may be, with many becoming teachers, researchers, and even police officers and private detectives, though some of them also make for excellent inventors and mechanics. Feliolms come in a variety of sizes, colours and patterns. Their pelts are rumored to be somewhat resistant to magic-based attacks.
Strelitz - Another intelligent race consisting of avianoid beings, Strelitz have just as much of a thirst for knowledge as the Feliolms do. They are highly respected as scholars, philosophers and even librarians who originated from Letezia. Other Strelitz have taken up occupations as members of the Journalian City Guard due to their unique combat techniques, making them highly valued warriors and mages. They have an extensive knowledge in the field of Dragon Chakras and tirelessly study the eight Elements. In fact, they claim that they were the first of the races to utilize the power of the Dragon Chakra, even backing up their statements with ancient texts which they say were written by their ancestors. Although the Great War destroyed all forms of magic save for the Dragon Chakra, the Strelitz were able to revive Alchemy, and it is rumored that they are currently trying to revive other forms of magic as well. A Strelitz’s plumage depends on the region they came from. Strelitz with brightly-coloured feathers come from warmer climates, while those with darker feathers tend to migrate from colder climates.
Myrjah - Myrjah are an aquatic race who originated from the region of Letezia, though some may also be found up in the northern region of Auroria. The Dragon Chakra of most Myrjah can only be of the Water or Ice element; usage of any other element is very rare. When the old kingdoms died out and most other races began to accept the new age after the Great War, many Myrjah refused to forget the past and continued to establish their society the way it was done back then. However, this caused a great rift between their species, with some of them retreating to other parts untouched by the Myrjah’s mindset and adapting to the modern life within the outskirts. As an aquatic race, Myrjah have a major advantage when it comes to underwater combat, as their Dragon Chakras are at their strongest in water. The scales of a Myrjah depends on their region. Myrjah living in warmer climates will have more vivid scales compared to those from the colder climates, whose scales will instead have a duller look. They are skilled lifeguards and firefighters, having assisted in the rescues of lost sailors and putting out ferocious fires in the past.

Everyone keeps saying that my Decidueye art is good, even though I commented on the fact that the anatomy is crap, what even...
...Also, I decided that I’m only gonna write “Don’t tag as yourself” for non-OC art from now on. The “don’t tag as yourself or kin nor as your chara” will be reserved exclusively for OC art. I realize that I’ve been a little too strict, so I think it’s time to let loose a little.

Hey, guys! So this year, I really want to get started on my webcomic, but I do need a bit of help...with designing some little critters. In the world that I’m currently developing, there are these beasts known as Faunusects, which are basically animals with insect-like traits.
So, I’d like you to drop me some creature splices you’d like me to do, and I’ll try to draw them to the best of my abilities. The main catch is that they have to be strictly mammal and insect (they are called Faunusects, after all!)
So, um...yeah. Just suggest whatever mammal/insect pairing you can think of, I guess?

So yeah, in case you haven’t already noticed, I put up a recent poll asking which of the five Paladins of Voltron (plus Allura and Coran) I should draw first after I get a few things out of the way.
Only three people have voted so far (one for Shiro and two for Pidge), so if I cn get more people to vote, that’d be great. I actually put up the poll to help motivate myself into drawing humans again.
