Kil. Killian Kenix. Aka Kir Kanos as a Knight of the Order of the Table and a Jedi.* Take 2 (Take 1 was... not good).

Mostly character design, this. One day I might try to figure out what colours he's wearing (definitely not red, probably blue and gold like he did in his bounty hunter persona and like the hat Lorna knit for him), and of course try to improve a bunch of things, but for now, I'm just satisfied with the basic outline of it. I tried to experiment with the idea of him wearing his Narnian clothes and slapping some Jedi details on top. So basically everything he's wearing, including the vambraces**, is Narnian, except the tabards, obi, and boots. (He needs boots that won't slip on metallic and other polished floors, otherwise he'd happily keep his Narnian pair of turnshoes...) And yes, it may have been an excuse to put him in a tunic with tablet-woven trim... :D

Is it normal to hold a lightsaber like this? No, I'm pretty sure it's not. You might hold a regular sword like this. He trained with a regular sword in Narnia, as taught by Peridan. He trained with a two-ended pike (whateveritscalled) as Emperor's guard, and made himself a double-bladed lightsaber in order to keep fighting staff-style. His lightsaber combat style is a pragmatic mash of all sorts of things and doesn't really conform to any of the classic forms, though I'm sure he incorporates them.

* This is from my Choruk'la Kajir AU/crossover, where he disappears in Unknown Regions / Wild Space after the end of Empire Lost, ends up in Narnia, and figures out he had Jedi in his family and is Force sensitive himself.

** I drew inspiration from actual 15th century ones in the Met, but the design here was rather hasty, just conveying the idea...

For this one I actually did a blue rough sketch underneath and deleted it in GIMP; another experiment... took me a while to find the right setting, but I found it! There are lots of things that need improving, but right now I'm pretty satisfied with this, especially considering the mess Take 1 turned into. :D

One of the guidelines we received from Lucasfilm Fan Relations was that any characters we used in advertising had to be fans in costume rather than the characters themselves. As a community driven event, we love that! The advertising you have seen since our photoshoot in January features fantastic cosplayers from throughout the Southern California area. We are so grateful that they lent us their talents and likenesses to help our fan convention.

Carnor Jax origins

According to Randy Stradley, author of Crimson Empire, Carnor Jax and Kir Kanos were intended to be clones. However, this was seemingly retconned by Abel G. Pena’s article Evil Never Dies which established Carnor Jax as having a father, which Wookieepedia takes to discredit the notion of Jax being a clone.  

But this is Star Wars. This is the same universe where Jango and Boba Fett are considered father and son despite Boba being a clone of Jango, with the same also applying to Palpatine and Rey’s dad. Jax’s dad can easily just have been the template for Jax.

Here’s another thing. According to Evil Never Dies, Jax’s father was a member of the Thyrsian Sun Guard (who just so happen to look a lot like Imperial Royal Guards, I should mention) who worked for Darth Sidious. In the RPG sourcebook Galaxy at War, there is a Sun Guard character named Kenix Jir who was used as a cloning template. What’s curious about Kenix Jir’s name is that both the first name and the surname are reused from other characters: Kenix Kil, an alias for Kir Kanos, and Daine Jir, an Imperial officer from A New Hope (the one who says to Vader “Holding her is dangerous!”). And guess what? According to StarWars.com’s old Visual Guides (which I don’t think are up anymore?), Daine Jir’s family donated their genetic template for making stormtroopers. So, this might be all a stretch (though I suppose this is the headcanon thread), but it is my belief that Carnor Jax and Kir Kanos are indeed clones, that the Sun Guard Kenix Jir is their template (and thus Carnor Jax’s “father”), and that Daine Jir is related to them (either as another clone or just a relative of Kenix).

it will never not be wild to me that hasbro made a jaina solo figure, it sold well and is now selling for decently high prices on the aftermarket and they just decided "oh well only eu characters you're getting now is repaints of figures you already have" like what
