teehee. we're at zevil island, hunter exam is holding up just fine, but she's worried abt being bored by killua's family paychodrama moreso than nen explanations

which! in conversation i was able to articulate what my problem w the parts i didn't like was! and maybe that's super obvious but not a thought i've had before. heaven's arena and greed island don't have compelling stakes or motivation for me, which is i think abt me not being a gamer. like the hunter exam is interesting, i get exams. but if i think abt it, i don't think i'm super compelled by the king's gungi adventures. if the podcast-current chimera ant eps were only that, even with komugi, i think that would be pretty frustrating to me, though i guess it would be hard to extricate it from the chimera ant court politics which i love. like. i was p irritated by the cheetu power bubble as well come to think of it, or the knuckle and shoot test for gon and killua, it's all kinda games for their own sake. which! if we believe the podcast thesis, that hxh is abt games - it does i think say sth that i am so deeply compelled by the show even tho i really dont care abt any of that at all, up to being like actually annoyed by game stuff lmao. it truly has sth for everyone

i am for the first time ahead of the podcast with hxh, even a couple eps ahead of the upcoming batch, bc i watched it with a friend who sometimes drops into the show with me just for company EXCEPT this time she kept talking abt it after, like "thinking abt hxh..", then asked to keep watching next time and now wants to start from the beginning
