BIOGRAPHY ( parental death, death, illness, blood tw )

you are born to a single mother who holds you carefully with calloused hands. all you know is that she moved to ethiopia when she was pregnant with you, and this is where you will live now. there are a lot of questions about your father, about where you are from, but you learn soon that home is the people around you, who you love, and who loves you in return.

you grow up with the smell of herbs and cooking all around you. your mom is the court physician, who takes care of the sick and the injured. you look up at her with wide eyes, and admire how she always finds in herself to be kind, how she helps anyone that comes to her for aid.

she always makes sure you are not in the room when worse injuries or illnesses come to the ward, though you are a persistent child. after a while, you are let in, and you come up with your own ways to help them. by either bringing them books from the library, or treats from the kitchen, or just a calm breath, sitting by their side. you make friends with a lot of soldiers, a lot of royals, and people from different walks of life.

the study to become a physician comes naturally, you want to help people just like your mom, and you want to be there for people who are in need. having a physician for a mother does not make your training less strict, though you work hard to learn her secrets, and her grandmother's secrets all the same. ethiopian medicine and thai medicine are different, and you put great attention into learning the intricacies of both.

then, the time comes when you cannot help those who you care about the most. this is a cruel lesson you learn. the first instance comes when it's your mother who falls ill. it's due to old age, and a nasty cold that won't go away. it takes weeks as you watch her wither away, and suddenly, you feel like you have lost your entire in this world.

you realize, the court of ethiopia is also your closest family, and you look at your queen as if she has hung the stars across the sky. you promise yourself to train harder, work more, so that you can help better when more patients come. you learn the art of healing from her as well, and those sessions you treasure the most.

the reckoning is unexpected and devastating. you thought you knew many of the pains of this world, but you realize how untrue that was. the disappearance of the king, many deaths that stain your palms with blood. you could not help them, no matter how much you tried. everything shifts all at once, and you realize you want to do more to stop tragedies such as this happening.

you offer to become a spy, to gather invormation, to prevent tragedies before they happen. you have been training for the past year now, and hoping to be valuable when the time comes.

RARE a 4 inches long Takrut Maha Am-naat, Luang Phu Tim, Nua Thong Dang, Tak Cheuak, Long Ruck, Kleuuap Krang Putsa. A copper Takrut of Gracious Power of Authority (Maha Am-naat) made by Wat Phai Lom , Rayong Province. It was engraved with yantra (holy cabalistic writings) inside, and blessed / consecrated by Luang Phu Tim of Wat Lahan Rai in BE 2513 (CE 1970). This Takrut Maha Am-naat was put in a string crochet case, and coated with black lacquer and Krang Putsa, then punched with a mirror image of “Na” yantra (holy cabalistic writings) at one end. The Yantra “Na” is believed to have 108 kinds of Power of Buddha (the number 108 in Thai means “countless”). The mirror image of “Na” yantra is believed to reverse bad luck to the good one.

This BE 2513 Batch of amulets was blessed by Luang Phu Tim of Wat Lahan Rai twice, 1st at the Blessing Ceremony at Wat Phai Lom, an hour after the end of this Blessing Ceremony, all Guru Monks including Luang Phu Tim had left the Ceremony area, but Luang Phu Tim re-entered the temple building and blessed this Batch of amulets alone once again.

The amulets left-over from sale were kept in the chamber under the base of the Principle Buddha Image of Wat Phai Lom, and this Batch was later found in BE 2555 (CE 2012) during the restoration work of the temple of Wat Phai Lom.

Synopsis: In order to save the world from the continuous subjugation and potential annihilation at the hands of Tiandi, hard lines must be drawn. The Great Spirits that were imprisoned ages ago must be unsealed and awakened, no matter the consequences.

The players are divided—those who stand blindly with Tiandi, such as Xiang Merra and her disciples versus those who want to tear the system down and give the power back to the people. Even a few of the most religious Lords change their minds when they learn the truth of the world—that Tiandi is no more than a dictator with no love in his heart.

It is up to the last, real Xiang and the ill-fated Chaaya to put everything they have into tearing God from his throne and creating new possibilities for the future.

Chapter XXIII:

With a link between Undine and King Raime in place, they returned to The Survivor and boarded. Undine then reappeared and helped to raise the ocean water around the ship and gently guided them back to the docks behind Castelle’s palace.

From there, they sat down to discuss the particulars about the coming conflict since they all knew there would be one. Kyrie, as it stood, could no longer support Merra.

Raime would not be able to go back once he made that decision public but, with Undine’s protection and strength, he felt confident in doing so.

“Then, whenever you need me and my people, we will rally behind you,” the King told Pangu with a renewed energy that was uplifting to see.

“We can hop back over here and let you know, rather than send a falcon out or a courier.” Pangu smiled.

“Or,” Undine’s voice sounded but she did not manifest, “If you are around Mother, you can simply give her the message. We can communicate directly.”

Kira blinked a few times and then nodded. “That works too.”

The negotiations, or mutual plans, rather, went even more smoothly after that. King Raime promised Raine he would protect his family and he made a more lighthearted promise to Pangu that Sampra and Ryu would not be deployed to the frontlines and would continue to guard the palace.

It was another weight lifted off of them and, when Kira opened a miasma portal back to Shakti, they felt all the better about the future.

This time, there was an audience waiting for them on the other side, probably expecting a summoning or some other show of triumph. The only ones missing were Loa and Phay—but besides them, even the Mistresses were there.

Raine shook his head solemnly.

“Did you not free Undine…?” Devi asked as her shoulders slumped.

“No, they did…” Shakti’s quiet voice sounded before she rose up in the midst of her Mistresses. She kept a rather liquid form, probably since she did not intend to stay with everyone for long. “She attached herself to another, did she not?”

Raine sighed. “She is bound to the King.”

“That makes sense,” Fujin commented, “Sylph already told us they used to choose royalty. If the King was there…”

Kira rubbed Raine’s shoulder though it was mostly for show since he could not feel it through his armor. He ended with a pat and a sigh. “I am sure I will not be chosen by Gnome so we can be unwanted together.”

“Are you really upset because you did not get picked?” Ziyi asked with a scoff. The smug look on his face did not stay for long since Chandes delivered a swift kick to his shin. “Ye-oW!”

“Who asked you to speak?!” She shouted and started to deliver a series of quick jabs with her foot against his leg.

May cackled and joined in on the other side, knocking the necromancer off balance and sending him to the floor. Browly ran around him in a circle, barking, but otherwise offering no help whatsoever.

“That poor bastard.” Kaz shook his head at the sight.

“Oh, I see you and your sister got my delivery.” Kira switched his attention to him, in his fancy armor.

“We did.” He grinned and set his hands on his hips. “I did not think I would miss it as much as I did.”

“You are not wearing yours?” Pangu asked, checking with Fujin.

She was still in plain, comfortable robes and she looked between them as if they were mad. “No. Why would I?”

“To honor your post…or to feel like yourself again?” Raine offered and shrugged. “I had felt almost naked without mine, to be honest.”

Fujin laughed through her nose and then shook her head. “While I do find pride and identity in that armor, there is no need to wear it during down time… You and my brother are too much alike, I swear.”

She then walked off to pull May off of Ziyi but her words lingered in the air. Raine and Kaz glanced at each other, mutually disregarded the connection, and then looked at Kira and Pangu respectively. The fact that they did it in sync made Baiya, Viren, and Oli laugh.

“So,” Viren attempted to sway them into a different topic, “What was the spirit realm like, Raine?”

“Breathtaking,” he answered with ease. “Everything is like a painting come to life and the air feels both light to breathe and thick with energy.”

“You and Oli will be visiting it next,” Baiya mentioned to Viren.

“Yes and I am eager. I had always assumed I would only be allowed to see the place upon my death.”

“Me as well,” Raine seconded before saying, “You all should have ample time to be able to take in the sights too, seeing as you will be able to travel directly to Gnoma. Of course, I suppose you cannot discount the possibility of one of Merra’s disciples showing up and ruining things.”

“Another one?” Oli groaned.

“Ah, yeah,” Kira recalled with a laugh, “We ran into Bofu before grabbing your armor.” He pointed languidly to Kaz and then continued, “but I took care of it. Doubt we will be seeing him again.”

“Someone needed to kill that little bastard,” Baiya muttered.

“Oh, I didn’t kill him. Just pumped him full of miasma and left him in the woods somewhere.”

Pangu leaned his head back and let out a long, “Aaaaah, so that is what happened.”

“Technically…I didn’t kill him.” Kira threw his hands up. “If he dies between now and later then it was not me.”

“One less disciple is good no matter how it happened,” Kaz responded.

“True. But I think we should prepare to face Kubja.” Viren crossed his arms. “Once he is out of the way, Pangu, do you think we could run into any other problems?”

“Well…there were spirits around when I accidentally visited the area before…” he grumbled, almost to himself. Though he doubted those same spirits would still be there and, even if they were, he did not think they would pose a threat, it was worth letting everyone know. “And, on a more superficial note, the scenery is a bit drab. It might not be the great marvel Raine and Kaz got to experience.”

Viren noticed a reluctance in Pangu’s tone and posture. He would not push it, not in front of everyone, so he took his hand and gave him a small tug. “Do you need to rest? Or was this trip much easier?”

“It was easier,” Pangu said with a smile, “but I could also go for a nap.”

“Sounds good,” Baiya inserted himself and stretched his arms up before glancing over at Kaz, “You can come meet us in an hour when you finally get all of that armor off.”

“It does not take that long,” Kaz grunted.

“You were gone for at least half an hour to put it on.”

“No I was not. Besides, it takes less time to take off than to put on anyway.”

Pangu checked with Viren and did not have to say anything in order to convey his thoughts. The Terran lord sighed and said, “Yes, they have been like this the entire time.”

“Come then,” Pangu said, waving his hand, “If you want to bicker, I have plans.”

Baiya’s expression changed, showing far more interest while Kaz curled his lip. “What does that mean?”

“Something fun, probably.” Baiya smirked.

“For me,” Pangu countered, “And maybe Viren.”

At that, Viren chuckled.

“You underestimate my willingness to do whatever you have in mind,” Baiya said as he began to lead the way back to their room.

“Because you are a lecher,” Kaz spat though there was no real venom in his words and none of them took him seriously. His burgeoning smile, mixed with how he picked up his pace to follow them, rendered him toothless.

Kira watched the four of them leave and then realized it was just Oli left with him and Raine. The young man glanced between them and fidgeted with his hands.

“Do you two need to rest too?”

“No but…” Kira turned his attention over to the Mistresses and Shakti. They were having a private conversation along with Gong who, surprisingly, seemed right at home with them. “I should check in with Shakti. See if she feels any different since Undine has been freed.”

Raine gave him a slight pat on the back and nodded. “I will wait for you.”

He and Oli sat on a couple of rock benches, on the far side of the room. The Lord in training took out, from his robe, a roll of parchment and looked to Raine.

“Did you get any planning done with your King?”

“Oh, yes,” Raine said and then let him know what all King Raime intended on doing.

Every so often, Oli nodded or added a small sound to indicate he was listening while he marked a few things down on the paper.

“You have been working hard to record everything, have you?” Raine asked after he was done.

Oli met his eyes and gave a lopsided smile. “Yeah…or, trying to at least. If Viren gets back control of Ultimos, my work over the past year and a half will help smooth out the transition.”

“Talking about strategies and politics?” Phay asked as she and Loa joined them. They both seemed a little tired in the face so Raine guessed they had just risen from a nap.

The sight of them drew May and Fujin over as well.

“We are,” Oli said to Phay, “The King of Kyrie has the ability to summon Undine now and he has promised to help us.”

“That is excellent news.” Phay woke up considerably more.

“Not so much for Raine,” May commented and stuck her lower lip out. “He wishes he could have gotten Undine’s gift.”

“It is not a terrible loss…” Raine tried to reason.

“It is understandable if you feel left out,” Fujin attempted to console him.

Raine resisted the urge to roll his eyes. “It is fine.”

May scooted closer, all but knocking Oli out of the way. “I bet Kira can make it all better.”

He arched an eyebrow as he regarded her. “What is that supposed to mean?”

“She is being dirty,” Fujin answered in monotone.

“Like usual,” Phay added.

“Well stop.” Raine did not push her away so the princess continued to lean against him.

Kira noticed from the other side of the room that the women and Oli were all surrounding Raine. He took a moment from his check up with Shakti to stare.

Then, out of the blue, Raine yelled, “That is NOT how we do things! Kira!”

“Looks like someone is in trouble,” Kali commented and Chandes snickered from behind her hand.

Kira leaned to the side even further and hollered back. “What?!”

“Is it not true?” May yelled, turning her head back and forth to look at each of them, “About the miasma tendrils?”

It was like a blow to the gut—Kira doubled over and the wind was knocked out of him. He had completely forgotten he told her that on a whim.

“Tell her that is not true,” Raine demanded.

But Kira could not stop laughing to clarify. Fujin bit her tongue while Phay silently laughed, shaking her shoulders, and Loa turned a deep shade of crimson.

“Kira!” Raine yelled again.

“I’m sorry,” he wheezed, finally able to make a noise other than laughter. He leaned against his knees and a few teardrops fell from his eyes. “I forgot about that.” After another few seconds of composing himself, he stood up straight and wiped under his eyes. “Whew…May, I was just kidding.”

The princess frowned and crossed her arms. “You promised it was true!”

“Yeah, I lie sometimes. It’s just a thing I do.”

Raine pinched the bridge of his nose. “But why, of all things, did you choose to say THAT?”

Kira tried to bite his lip in time to keep from laughing but it did not work out in the slightest. What started as a whimper turned into a full blown cackle which made Raine narrow his eyes at him. “What? It’s funny.”

“So…” May huffed and shifted her weight around. “How do you two have sex then? If not miasma tendrils…”

“None of your business,” Raine cut her off.

Kira devolved into snickers again and Raine sighed. At the very least, Oli was on his side since he piped up and asked, “Can we please talk about anything else?”

“I second that movement,” Phay raised her hand.

“Please.” Loa covered her face.

“Aw, you are all such prudes,” May groaned and threw her head back. “I’m curious.”

“Use your imagination,” Kira told her with a wink and Raine gave him a look so sharp it could have killed him.

From the sidelines, Ziyi sat with Browly on his lap and his eyes bounced between each speaking party member. Slowly, he started to shake his head and then he pinched the bridge of his nose. He shifted his attention, solely, to his dog and murmured, “They are all a bunch of freaks, Browly.”

"i understand." or more so, he can imagine that pressure to be perfect. to not crack under the pressure. heavy is the head that wears the crown. he does not envy that life. how ironic, when he thinks of what he has learned — and pushes that thought away immediately. after walking to where the sultan intends him to go, he sets down the medical satchel down at the corner of a sofa, and waits for him to settle down. "how have you been feeling? is there any discomfort? any signs of fever?"

We are almost 6 months in 2021 now and I have been enjoying a lot of BL drama’s I just haven’t been writing any reviews. So let me name a couple of my favorite BL drama’s so far.

1. Tale of a Thousand Stars

This is definitely my favorite so far this year. I fell in love with the story, the male leads, the kids and even the friends. I read the novel and I love that they didn’t change that much! Also the chemistry between Earth and Mix was seriously amazing. They had me wrapped around their fingers for sure and usually the story gets a bit boring in the middle but this time there was not one full moment. I laughed, cried and screamed watching these episodes and even though the ending was good and well rounded, I seriously just wanted more!

Also can we talk about Mix for just absolutely second?! Because where have GMMTV been hiding him because W.O.W this man is stunningly handsome and when he smiles it’s like I am melting every single time.

Anyway ahum I am giving this drama a 10/10

2. fighting mr. 2nd

The sequel I needed badly! Did it disappoint god no! These two have such amazing chemistry that I got pulled in every time they got close. And that one scene where Gao Shi De was drunk and poured his heart out broke me. That was seriously intense and the way Zhou Shi Yu gave him a second chance was the best thing ever!

Not to forget about the side couple, which I need to know more about because well they are interesting🥰

The storyline wasn’t complicated or that original BUT it didn’t matter because the acting was amazing and it made me long for more!

So if I have to give this a rating it would get an 9.8/10

3. Lovely writer

Now I seriously was excited about this one from the moment I saw the trailer!! And I loved every single moment of it. I loved how it sometimes mocked the BL industry and Kao & Up are an amazing duo. I have to say that I was so happy to see Kao playing this character after UWMA because this suits him so much better.

Again the chemistry between them was awesome and I don’t know how many times I felt super single, when I am not, while watching them together. Like how is that possible but I want what they have lol.

I don’t think there was anything that bothered me much with this drama except for Aey, I mean damn he was annoying but I feel like they could’ve done more with him but well🤷‍♀️

Also the last episode made me feel attacked especially near the end, you’ll know what I’m talking about when you see it, won’t give spoilers😎

I will give this a 9.5/10

4. Manner of Death

Ah the thriller in this small list. This was a rollercoaster that made you sit on the edge of your chair every single episode. Now I feel like I don’t really need to talk about Max & Tul because who doesn’t know them. They are the BL kings!

I read the novel which usually is t a good thing before you watch a drama but I loved that they did not change THAT much. Max & Tul were definitely the best pick for this drama, also can I just say that their acting has improved so much and I just loved it.

Also how fresh was this drama! Like finally no uni storyline but an adult one! It’s exactly what I wanted!

I will give this a 8.7/10

5. To My Star

This is definitely my favorite Korean drama so far. This was amazing. I loved the storyline and it was nice that they did not really rushed it even though the episodes were again way too short. I loved the chemistry between the male leads.

The way you saw them fall for each other and the way one of them tried to ignore those feelings. I am happy it ended well because I was seriously rooting for them. I loved that they were close behind the scenes as well.

The only reason this one is not higher on the list is because of the shortness.

So I’ll give this a 8/10

6. Tonhon Chonlatee

This on started in 2020 but ended in 2021 so that’s why it’s on here!! This was the light drama we needed seeing as at the same time we got Tharntype. But yeah I laughed so hard every episode & not that but sometimes I even yelled at Tonhon for being a straight up idiot.

The way to Tonhon admitting he loves Chonlatee was a long one and I felt sorry for the second male lead because he was being used to make him realise he liked chonlatee but that made certain things a lot funnier! I loved the chemistry again between the male leads and I definitely wanted more after it ended!! Also give it up to my favorite side couple Ai & Ni, they really should get their own drama!!

I’ll give this a 7.9/10

7. Gen y

Gen Y was something every confusing but also something likeable?🤔 I mean I loved the storyline between Kit & Mark. It was nice to see how Kit finally opened up to Mark and started to love him back, I did feel frustrated at Kit because he did not speak his mind but felt happy when he finally did. Also those scenes between them!! 👍

Then we get to Wayu, Thanu & Phai, this was one confusing storyline, like wtf was that between Thanu and Phai? Where are this premonitions coming from and what does it mean? Like this drama isn’t paranormal right🤔 also I know a lot of fans want Wayu together with Phi but I don’t not after what he did and also the chemistry between Wayu and Thanu is really good! I am curious to see what will happen to them.

Then we get to the last couple, which frustrated the hell out of me! Pok and Tong.... what was happening between them and why did they end up hating each other to having sex with each other🤔 and what is this that they refuse to kiss each other nonsense, so yeah I liked the drama but I was either happy or frustrated😂

This will be a 7/10 for me

8. You make me dance

You make me dance was cute but also a bit heavier then usual. Especially for the dancer because his mom literally left him alone to fend for himself which made him take out loans with loan sharks and the only good thing that came out of it was he fell in love with his loan shark.

I loved them, they were cute, clingy but again way too short because this one was definitely rushed, which was sad. Also when they shoot this in the middle of the winter maybe next time the production staff could at least turn on some heaters? Like I felt cold while watching them!

Anyway a 6.9/10

9. HIstory4; Close to you

Ah yes this one... I will start to say that this one made me uncomfortable at times, also certain tropes were being used that not everyone will appreciate. I for myself liked this drama but also not. If you have watched it, you know that one of the couples are stepbrothers. Now tbh if they hadn’t grown up together it might’ve been easier to watch but seeing as they grew up together it was hard to look passed it especially since they continuously reminded us about it. Also sex without proper consent, I do have to say here that even though he was drunk Xing Si did recognize Yong Jjie so I don’t think it’s right but that’s the only excuse I can find for it🤔 other then that I thought they were cute.

Then the second couple I loved them, the way they fell for each other could’ve been better but yeah I loved them. lichen and Muren completed each other the only scene that got me uncomfortable as when Lichen was dreaming about Muren. But other then that I loved their chemistry!!

Also the cameo of one really amazing couple made up for a lot. I won’t spoil anything but yeah that was satisfying

But because this one made me feel uncomfortable a lot of times I will give it a 6.7/10

10. Second Chance

Second chance, well was short but likeable. I loved the chemistry between the male leads and they made me feel like they were already in a relationship so when that thing happened and one of them suddenly took his distance I was surprised because well, yeah I just didn’t expect him to be like that. But yeah this drama was a short one sadly enough so that’s why it’s not high on the list because I wanted more.

I’ll give this a 6.5/10 and not because it was bad but because it was way too short and sometimes I did not get was was going on.

Also, this one is fascinating because how does one define uke? Because some of these characters might be bottoms but I wouldn't define them as ukes because ukes are typically the ones being pursued. So I've sort of been trying to figure that out and so some of these get some odd answers depending on the character. Is an uke defined as what most straight girls think of a bottom? Is an uke the character being pursued or who needs to be taken care of?

... Look, uke is an ever-evolving word, especially from when I first joined fandom. So it's very interesting!

Taekyung vs. Adachi

Adachi has to win this. I love Taekyung to death and he's my tiny gaybie but Adachi just... he's darling and small and he needs to be protected and pursued and he just... fits more of what I think of as an uke. Now, this is probably because this is a Japan (creator of the uke/seme dynamic as we know it) versus Korea (who really don't do strong seme/uke dynamics) thing rather than a character thing. Since uke really is in the relationship and not just the character...

Sky (GB) vs. Tae Joo (Eyes Linger)

It's Sky. Sky is a baby. Sky is absolutely baby. He's in need of so much love and care and protection. Although Tae Joo is close and he definitely needs it, it's in a different way. Plus, Sun is gonna take a bullet for Sky and I am an absolute sucker for that. But they're such good characters to contrast.

Pi vs. Gene

I gotta admit that I'm giving this to Gene. Now, this is because of the show. I want Gene to be taken care of by his love. I want Nubsib to love and care for Gene. I don't want Pi to be take care of. I want Pi to go be independent and pissy somewhere else without ever thinking about Mork again.

Tian vs. Pharm

Pharm had to win this. I love Tian, don't get me wrong. But Tian and Phupha have a different dynamics than Dean and Pharm. Dean and Pharm definitely lean more towards what I would consider a seme/uke relationship and, thus, Pharm wins. Also, tiny gaybie Pharm almost always wins.

ShuYi vs. Shi Lei

This is so interesting because it's Taiwan vs Taiwan and they don't do the really strong seme/uke... but yeah, it's Shu Yi. Shu Yi 100%. Shi Lei is an uke but he's not as much of one as Shu Yi. Shu Yi is such a darling who just needs so much love.

Zhao Zi vs. Si Qi

It's Zhao Zi. Look, I adore Si Qi. He's a darling. But Zhao Zi is just gaybie energy x100 alongside abandonment issues and that sunshine over sadness energy is just A+.

Meen vs. Tine

This one is hard. They're both such ukes, such little gaybies... But I like Meen more, so I'm going with him. He was the bright spot in the show where Tine was, ironically, one of my least favorite characters in his show.

Jin vs. Arthit

I had to give this to Jin. He just loved being pursued so much and all the attention and the little gifts from Bbomb just made him so happy. He couldn't help himself. Arthit just didn't quite have that with Kongpob, as much as I love them together. Different vibes.

Kit (Gen Y) vs. Wad (SOTUS S)

Kit is basically the perfect example of a tsundere uke. Like, he is the platonic (lol) ideal. And I love him for that so much. He's definitely one of my favorite characters just in general and such a little tsundere uke he has to win.

Karl vs. Gavreel

This one is a bit harder. Ugh. Like, you could claim it for either one and also argue that neither one is exactly an uke... but I'm gonna give it to Gavreel. Mostly for levels of realism. Karl is just so realistic it's hard to call him an uke.

Tutor vs. Knock

Yeah, it's Tutor. He was tough as nails but he melted so nicely under Fighter's hands and just falls apart and gets sick without him and that's just... such an uke thing, okay? SUCH an uke thing.

Mico vs. Jaime

I had to go with Mico. I love Mico. He's such a darling and absolutely radiates gaybie in need of love energy at all times and I still desperately wish that Hello Stranger the movie had given him more of a chance at the end rather than a rush.

Reb vs. Jim

... It's Reb because Jim just annoyed me mostly. Also, Reb is tiny and adorable and has that super innocent gaybie energy that makes him a bit more real but also a bit more uke. I dunno, this is what I mean about the definition of uke. It's hard to pin down for me!

Tong vs. Folk

Look, I get it, I'm the only person who preferred IttPai to PureFolk. I GET IT. But that just means I'm gonna pick Tong because PokTong was the best pairing beside MarkKit and also holy shit sex and holy shit the love they share that they damaged and hurt so much together... ugh, uke energy be damned, I'm choosing my favorite.

Paii vs. Wayo (2moons2)

Yo is ultimate uke. He's such an uke is almost hurts. Like, he always wins this. Every time. No question or hesitation.

Beam vs. Kit (Both 2moons2)

Kit wins again. Because Kit is a tsundere uke and, frankly, 2moons2 Kit is even MORE of the perfect tsundere uke because he also melts. He melts so hard and so fast and it's adorable beyond belief.

Sorry, Shi Gu, but Mon is such an uke. Like holy sheesh this boy. This most darling boy. He's tiny and gaybie and adorable and PORTABLE and yeah, he's super uke.

Chon vs. Mes

I'm gonna give it to Chon because he's just... a bit more? To me. He's more of an uke and I love him for it. Tough as nails uke boy with a lot of of darlingness. Yeah, just gotta go with my heart.

Masuk vs. Nuea

I might like Nuea more but I think Masuk has more uke vibes. They're still weak but they're there and I just gotta give it to my darling Masuk. He's so soft and needs so much love and a lot of care.

Third is ultimate uke. Crying in a shower? Weeping over everything? Very protective friends? Yeah. YEAH. He wins this.

Puth vs. Boss (My Engineer)

Puth just isn't an uke to me. He's got different vibes. But Boss? Boss is an uke and adorable and he just wants to finally love Mek openly and honestly and just be held and goofy and ride on his back. And seriously, love the boy.

Ugh, this is hard because I'm not 100% on how much an uke Kao (Oxygen) is and I don't really think about DBK ever... I'll give it to Oxygen. I love Oxygen and I miss Kao.

Xingsi wings this by being the most take over uke ever, the one who definitely wants to be spoiled but also knows exactly how he wants to be spoiled and isn't afraid to show it. Gotta love him.

In's not an uke to me. But Team? I'm good with that. I can handle it. And he needs that care and that love. Also, as I say every time... Between Us must exist!

Gui beats Ray by a hair. BARELY at all. But I just love Gui and his darling softness and just his everything... Ugh, Gui definitely has uke energy.

Type (2gether) vs. Sang Ha (Mr. Heart)

I gotta go with SangHa. What a darling boy. Type is great and all but their relationship is much more equal than anything else. And SangHa is just... this boy who needs to be loved and cared for and then to run alongside his boyfriend.

Sheng Zhe (Right or Wrong) vs. Shao Fei

I gotta give it to Sheng Zhe. I love Shao Fei deeply but Sheng Zhe wins in terms of uke. Like, he's darling and family and sweet and full of love and I love him so much I cannot even.

Frong vs. Duen

Duen gets it, even if I view him as entire asexual and, frankly, more than a bit aromantic. I genuinely think he dislikes being in a committed relationship. But... uke energy? Yeah, he gives out more than Frong.

King vs. Sky (My Day)

King is way more uke than Sky because Sky isn't uke at all. My Day was amazing for having such no seme/uke dynamic, yo. But King? Yeah, he's got that energy with Ram.

Ou Wen vs. Minh Hoang

I'm gonna give this to Minh Hoang. Because Ou Wen isn't uke energy for me. But Minh Hoang has some. Neither of these shows really does the seme/uke energy, honestly. But I can lean a bit more towards Minh Hoang.

Can vs. Techno

I'm giving it to Can despite the unconventional nature of his relationship with Tin and the maturity they show through the show. But I love Can and the want to care for him and I want to protect him. And the more I want to protect a character, the more I go with uke. (Not that I'm a seme, I'm just a sunshine puppy disguised as a person.)

Yu Zhen vs. Bunn

I feel weird but I'm definitely giving it to Yu Zhen. I gotta. I can't help myself. He's such a darling young man who just needs to be taken care of by Shi Lei on every possible level. I mean, boy still doesn't know not to eat gummies. Seriously.

Bonus: (Ga On vs. Da On)

Raine continues to serve his Lord but he has taken to alcoholism to soothe his grief—a fact he keeps out of his letters with Heidi. Baiya has returned to mercenary work in order to keep his family safe while Kira is on the warpath. He, fully, takes on the title of Chaaya and means to defeat the Xiang he sees as false.

And, in a guarded castle in Enlil, a stir-crazy Princess dabbles in the dark arts, setting in motion something even Tiandi cannot see.

Chapter XXXV:

Pangu could not believe that his plea actually worked. When he finally let Kira go, he partly expected him to create another miasma portal and run through. But he did not.

He stayed.

Even more bizarre was that Pangu was allowed a moment to talk to him alone. Not even Raine came with him, like he expected. Pangu checked with his energy as well—no one was even spying on them.

The sun was nestling past the horizon and an orange and red glow lingered, bleeding into a deep purple further up. A waxing crescent, bigger than usual, appeared transparent in the far left corner of the sky.

It was as beautiful as any sunset Pangu had seen but Kira kept his attention—even if the man still had a difficult time looking at him.

“You really do not care that I am a Chaaya now? Fully?” Kira mumbled. “That I have become someone we would have fought before? Someone unworthy of being in your company?”

“That is not for you to say,” Pangu responded with ease. “I decide who is worthy of being around me. Tiandi killing me did not make me bend to his will, you know.”

That, at least, got Kira to look at him for a second.

“Still…” his second disciple went back to staring at the ground—the space between their feet. “You do now know everything I have done.”

“And it means little to me,” Pangu interrupted, “If you are worried about your actions being unbecoming of a disciple or even ‘one of the good guys’; don’t. I have abandoned many of the rules I was taught as Xiang to never break. I have hurt people for the sake of hurting them. I have been selfish in love. I have given the gift of the elements to three people and I intend to do it again with Phay and her army.”

“You hurt people?” Kira asked after a moment.

“May’s parents.” As bloody and visceral as the memory was, Pangu found himself smiling a little. Maybe it was the irony of the moment in the greater context of his life. With all of his memories back, it definitely stuck out as different. “The King and Queen of Enlil—the Ven islands more specifically. I only met them once but the reason I was brought back to life was to threaten or kill them.”

“Wait…” Kira stopped him. “That was all you were brought back for?”

“May did a ritual to bring me back. She had done it a few times but with less success. There is a longer story but she loves telling it so I will hold off for now.” Pangu laughed a little. “Just know that the reason she brought me back was so I could threaten her parents to let her be free. And, if they did not cooperate, I was to kill them.”

“And here I thought there was some mass conspiracy happening behind my back.” For the first time since Pangu had seen him, his friend smiled. It was barely present but he still counted it.

“Could still be. I do not even have all the details, to be honest.” Pangu thought of Sha-parvati’s cageyness and Cuad, in general. He thought of telling Kira about the Mistress’ involvement but he worried it would get them too far off track. “Anyway, once I had a grasp on my abilities again, May took me to see her parents and…well…I did not kill them but I did, sort of, maim her father.”

“Maim?” Kira repeated with a raised brow. His shoulders sank slightly, showing more signs of relaxation.

Pangu did not celebrate too early and continued on. “I crushed his arm in the stone of his floor…amputating it. But, I did cauterize the wound so he did not bleed out. After that, her parents were much more willing to listen to her demands and then we left.”

Kira blinked a few times before actually laughing. “Damn. Wish I could have been there to see that.”

It really was not funny but Pangu laughed as well. He was relieved that he managed to wind Kira down enough to get him laughing and smiling. “I am sure there will be some carnage at the battle. So long as you stick around.”

“That I will be there for.” His second disciple shook his head. “I am not missing it.”

“Good. Promise you will not disappear on me the second I turn my back?” He raised an eyebrow. As much as he wanted to stay up with Kira all night he needed sleep and he had prior engagements.

Almost on cue, Baiya walked outside with Viren, Raine, Kaz, and Fujin.

“Kira,” Viren called out, “Miss Daiji wants to know if you are okay with staying in one of the guest rooms in the extra house.”

Kira’s eyes scanned between everyone in the group before he asked, “Who is rooming where, exactly?”

Viren and Baiya exchanged a quick look before Baiya said, “My sister is bunking with Phay in her room and The princess and Fujin will be in my old room with Raine and Oli. Viren and I have a room in the other house.”

Again, Kira raised a brow and looked toward Kaz. “What about you?”

“Me?” Kaz repeated and pointed at himself.

Pangu laughed a little and touched Kira’s arm. “Well, Kaz and I will figure something out. I also need to talk to Baiya and Viren for a bit…”

His best friend gave him a sideways look but something must have clicked in his head because a smirk pulled at the corner of his lips. “I will stay out here for a bit. I could use the fresh air.”

“Promise you won’t disappear on me?” Pangu asked with a more pointed stare.

“I promise.” Kira removed his hand from his arm and stepped backward. “I will be here when you wake. Go and…have your talk.”

It was still difficult to part from him but Pangu told himself that he could trust Kira and that he would not be gone in the morning. He gulped and nodded. “Alright. Goodnight everyone.”

Walking to the other house with Baiya, Viren, and Kaz was nerve wracking. Pangu felt so many eyes on him and he felt like everyone knew exactly what was going on even if he himself did not know the outcome yet. His face got hot prematurely and he was nervous that he would immediately fumble the conversation.

Really, he had hoped talking with Kira would have distracted him from his anxiety around the topic. But, the second he was faced with it again, every emotion, even the minute ones, came back with a vengeance.

The room was, thankfully, large enough to where they were not all cramped inside and Pangu had to resist the urge to start pacing.

He at least did not have to worry about Viren since he knew the man had already been alright with him and Baiya, right before his death. He would be understanding and calm about everything and he suspected Baiya would be reasonable as well but he did worry about Kaz.

So he started with him. The three had already been introduced, briefly, during all of the talks and explanations earlier but Pangu wanted them to have a clearer picture.

“Baiya, Viren, this is Kaz. He is Fujin’s little brother, as you know, and a guard to the princess, but he was also sort of like my guard when I was first brought back. I stayed in his room and he looked after me…”

Pangu could tell that Kaz was waiting for him to tell the two that he was a little mean and cold at first but he did not think those details were necessary. Not now at least. Pangu focused on the positives instead and, slowly but carefully, moved into when they started to do more than kiss.

He recalled, just earlier in the day, that he actually had not done most of that stuff with anyone else. Baiya, he had kissed the most and they had definitely been on the path to more touching but Pangu died before anything happened.

Knowing that, somehow, made the conversation feel trickier.

Pangu moved on to Viren, explaining to Kaz their history. It seemed Baiya was familiar with the details despite never hearing about it from Pangu. That meant the two had spoken about it after his death.

And that led to some news for Pangu.

He had noticed some tense looks between Baiya and Viren but he had not especially had any time to think about it. There was a lot on his mind and those stolen glances were lost among the clutter.

“After we buried you…” Baiya started and then stopped, looking to Viren for reassurance. When the lord nodded, he continued, “Well, I brought him and Oli here to keep them safe and Viren and I spoke a lot.”

“Mostly about you. How we felt about you.” Viren chimed in and rubbed the side of Baiya’s arm. They caught each other’s eyes again and it fell into place in front of Pangu.

He pointed and, without meaning to, raised his voice. “You two are seeing each other!”

Both Baiya and Viren reeled back. “I, well, yes.” Baiya cleared his throat. “I was trying to ease into it…you aren’t mad, are you?”

Mad? Pangu almost balked. He could hardly contain himself—he was relieved beyond words. Really, it was almost as much of a weight off of his shoulders as Kira staying was. Almost.

A grin spread across his face. “This is great news. Now I don’t have to choose.” He then turned to Kaz. “The only issue left is you and us. I promised you that I would not leave you for an old lover, if I had one, and I still mean it. I will not pick. So…are you okay with that?”

“Here I was hoping that them pairing off meant I had you to myself…” Kaz muttered with a faint smile.

“Just because we got closer does not mean I no longer love Pangu,” Baiya remarked.

“Same with me.” Viren seconded.

Pangu looked between the two of them and Kaz. He knew it might chase the man away but he asked anyway. “Loving more than one person is possible, you know? Could you see yourself with either of them, Kaz?”

His face turned bright red and he tensed. “W-what?”

The state of him brought a smile to Baiya’s face. He said, mostly to Viren, “He is quite cute, don’t you think?”

Of course, the comment made Kaz more embarrassed. Pangu had to hold back his laugh. If he had a problem with teasing Kaz then Baiya would be even worse.

Viren, however, elbowed Baiya in the side. “Leave the man alone.”

Kaz covered his face and deferred to Pangu. “Can I think about it?”

He bit his tongue to keep from laughing. “Of course. It is not as if something is going to happen right now anyway. I intend to sleep.”

“Today has been exhausting,” Viren agreed with a soft smile, shot in Pangu’s direction, “In a good way.”

“We have more important matters ahead of us anyway,” Baiya switched back into a more serious tone. “We can talk more after the battle.”

“That gives you plenty of time to think.” Pangu patted Kaz on the shoulder and noticed he was not blushing quite so furiously anymore now that the imagined threat of an impromptu orgy was gone. He then leaned in to give him a kiss.

Just because they were not planning out their relationships right away did not mean that Pangu wished to forgo his goodnight kisses. He turned from Kaz, then, to Viren who happily wrapped his arms around his neck and held him close. Flashes of stiff, painful conversations that just so happened to revolved around their last kiss filled Pangu’s mind and he smiled in their current embrace.

It seemed spending a year with Baiya as a lover had really loosened the lord’s perspective on such things.

Pangu pulled away from him, catching his eyes, holding his gaze, and nearly going right back for another kiss. But he steeled himself with a reminder that they all desperately needed sleep and moved onto Baiya who, so far, had been waiting patiently although the slight bounce of his heel was notable.

With a short, breathy laugh, Pangu turned to him and planted his hands on either side of his face, petting along his fuller beard, up to where it connected to his sideburns and into his hair. The contact was initiated slowly and Baiya took small, deliberate kisses as though he were not starved but Pangu could feel the longing brewing just under the surface. He knew, just like when he held Viren’s stare for too long, that if he really leaned into this kiss with Baiya that he would become carried away.

So he gave him a final, firm peck and backed away, standing closer by Kaz whose cheeks had returned to a light, rosy pink.

Random shuffling sounds almost made Raine turn to look behind him but he was sure it was just the women and Oli getting ready for bed. Fujin and May were taking the cot while Oli was setting out some mats for himself and Raine (even if the mats were too small to fully accommodate Raine).

He heard them talking but he did not listen to what they were saying. Occasionally, he would pick up a word or two but nothing kept his interest.

Or, rather, nothing could shift his focus from the window.

It had been a few moments, maybe fifteen minutes now, and Kira still had not gone inside. He was standing out in fields, barely visible, and looking up at the sky.

Raine both could not believe and also could not be more frustrated with himself for not saying a single word to the man. Not even after he agreed to stay had Raine spoken. It was as if the words all clogged together in his throat and refused to budge.

It was beyond infuriating.

Pangu made it look so easy.

He rested his forehead against the glass of the window and sighed, under his breath. The Xiang, one of his best friends, was currently working out his relationships—probably with maturity and poise despite the complicated situation he found himself in yet he could not bring himself to say “hi” to the guy he liked.

His head knocked even further into the glass but not intentionally. He swung around as a pillow fell to the floor and the culprit stared at him.

“Are you listening?” May asked with another pillow already in hand, ready to throw.

“He is not,” Fujin answered for him. Her eyes settled on Raine’s and she said, “Why not just go out there and talk to him?”

“Talk to who?” May rushed over to the window to get a look.

“Kira?” Oli guessed and both Raine and Fujin sighed. “What?”

“Nothing,” Fujin replied then pulled May back by her arm.

“Is this another romance?” May deduced and looked, excitedly, between Raine and Fujin. She glanced to Oli at one point but he just shrugged so she returned to only the two of them.

“No.” Raine frowned.

Fujin frowned right back. “If you do not go out there and talk to Kira, I will tell May everything you told me.”

The princess gasped. “You are keeping secrets from ME?!”

Fujin shushed her but did not take her eyes off of Raine for long. “I mean it. It is now or never, Raine. If you stay in here and mope then you have forfeit your right to ever complain to me again.”

She was a bit harsh but Raine realized he needed the push. Without the threats and the cutting words, he might have just stayed inside and stared longingly out the window, cursing himself for being a fool and a coward—letting his inaction write his story.

He hurried out of the bedroom and down the hall, making an effort to keep quiet both because he did not wish to disturb everyone else in the house and also so he did not alert Kira. He would feel his presence eventually anyway, for sure, but for a moment at least, Raine wanted to be able to look at him and prepare himself for what he might say.

The stars were so clear and big with almost no clouds to block their light. Kira’s hair glowed softly—blue—and his skin looked even paler now. But, just to see him, standing there, Raine could feel a flutter in his stomach.

Kira noticed him and turned to look over his shoulder. “I had a feeling you would come.”
