Book Review: Fall of the Harvest Moon by Kimberly Loth and Nina Walker
Tumblr media
Thorne’s dead.
And Ryne will be soon.
We have no idea what the future holds.
I will not be shunted to the side anymore. It’s time for me to take my place as leader in the resistance. We’re taking the wolves down.
But sometimes the good guys become the bad guys and the bad guys good, and I don’t even know where my allegiance lies anymore.
And my heart… that’s still up for grabs.

Thorne is dead, but the war for power has just begun. Poppy must choose her allies to fight to change the wolfs' world and achieve the society she has desired for so long. But to do that, she will have to overcome a lot of danger and complications, facing the greatest of challenges while she tries to deal with her own heart.
I loved this book, it was the perfect ending to an incredible series. The plot is so interesting, I was hooked from the beginning to the end. It’s an addictive reading that I devoured so fast!
There is a lot of drama and emotions in this story, some scenes really broke my heart. The romance in this book was full of thorns and challenges, which made it even more epic and beautiful. Some scenes were so sweet that made me swoon.
On the other hand, there is a lot of tension and adrenaline in this story. It had some bloody battles and action-packed fights that were really good. So much happened in this book. So many things! It had really good twists and turns, I loved how things were resolved. It also had very interesting new characters. Bellamy was my favorite, hands down. He was so cute and adorable!
And I loved the ending, it was so sweet and beautiful, although it was also bittersweet to finish this amazing series. I loved the world of this story, I think it’s so dark and fascinating. I loved it!

Kindle Star Review
Title: Obsidian(The Dragon Kings #1)
Author: Kimberly Loth
Pages:204
Rating:⭐⭐⭐(3/5)
Synopsis: Seventeen-year-old Aspen is a skydiving, rock climbing, adrenaline junky. All her life, she’s been fascinated by the dragons who roam near her home in Yellowstone Park. Yes, Dragons. Though no human has ever gotten close enough to touch one. Except Aspen. While most people avoid the national parks because of the resident dragons, Aspen spends most of her free time in search of the feared and misunderstood creatures. For her, studying the dragons is a way to escape a painful past and avoid getting too close to anyone. She’d rather track dragons in the wild and through the lens of her camera than talk to real people. But then Aspen meets a hot new guy at school, Sid King. He’s the one person she’s ever met who shares her obsession with all things dragon. But even as she feels strangely drawn to the mysterious boy, she senses he’s hiding his own set of dark and powerful secrets. When hikers start turning up dead in the park, everyone suspects the formidable predators. Unless Aspen can prove their innocence, every one of her beloved dragons is in danger of eradication. After Aspen and Sid uncover a sinister plot behind the brutal attacks, Aspen can no longer deny that Sid somehow knows more about the deaths than he should and the secrets they both keep threaten to rip their lives apart forever.

This my July wrap up.  I read 27 books last month mostly because of #thebookjunkietrials.
Like you can see I almost reach my goal that I fixed for this year (read 200 books like last year) … but apparently I will for sure read more than that until the end of the year … which just the though of that drives me crazy!  Me who never read more than like what 10 books or less in 30 years or so, then read 200 books in one year last year while this year I can not only read more than 20 books in a month but I can also read more than 200 books in a year … MINDBLOWING for sure!!! I’m proud of me!
Last month I also put another personal challenge on me for my next monthly TBR: I will read each month at least 2 thrillers.
Since I’m a little girl I was always attracted by the thriller world.  I always watched TV thrillers series from “Starsky & Hutch” to “Monk” (to name a few).  I even wanted to work in this world first as detective (like all those characters of course) and then when I started to study in a law school, I was very excited to study criminlogy.  Unfortunately university was never my forte and I ended up being graduated in P.R. but the passion is still there … just like my passion for psychology who was also a subject that I wanted to study at the university … I also like to whatch documentary about criminal cases to understand the mind of those monsters.
That is why I thought that my “fear” for reading a thriller book was silly of me since it’s a world that intrigued me since I’m a little girl … and so far so good!  I loved the 2 thrillers that I read in July, I already planned the 2 thrillers for this month (August) and bought some new ones!
Anyway let’s back to my July wrap up:
- For the #bookjunkietrials, I not only did the first 5 challenges for my team (#Scribes) but also read a book for the challenges of each team:
1. Dwarf Mount: “Fumbled Hearts” by Meagan Brandy: 4 stars
2. Apothecary Towers: “Bad Saint” by Monica James: 4 stars
3. The Great Library: “Finley” by Ella Frank: 4 stars (more a 3.5)
4. The Drowning Deep: “A Thousand Pieces Of You” by Claudia Gray: 4 stars
5. The Bookie Grail: “Stardust” by Neil Gaiman: 3 stars
6. Orc Grove “Captive In The Dark” by C.J. Roberts: 4 stars
7. Ol’ Pirate Cove: “Bane” by L.J. Shen: 4.5 stars
8. Glimmer: “One Little Lie” by Whitney Barbetti: 3.5 stars
9. Draconic Isle: “Obsidian” by Kimberly Loth: 3 stars
10. The Eleven Guard: “Off Base” by Annabeth Albert: 4 stars
11. On The Hallow Isle: “Scavengers” by Yolanda Olson: 4 stars
12. Empty Barrel Inn: “The Bourbon Kings” by J.R. Ward: 4 stars
13. Giant Squid: “Requiem & Reverie” by Keri Lake : 5 stars (more a 4.5)
14. Crimson Peaks: “Devil’s Kiss” by Ella Frank: 5 stars
15. Queendom Stone: “Cheeky Royal” by Nana Malone: 4 stars
16. The Forgotten Forests: “#Player” by Cambria Hebert: 4 stars
17. The Weeping Falls: “Until You” by Penelope Douglas”: 5 stars
In July I also read for my last library and last #romanceopoly challenge: “Enthralled” by Giana Darling.  I was not a huge fan of her book “Lessons In Corruption” but I gave another try with “Enthralled” … and I fell in love with it!  I gave it 5 stars and I’m so impatient to read the second book!
I also read those books:
- “Sinfully Mine” by Nicky James: 4 stars Yes it’s a very tabboo romance but the author make a really good job to explain how and why these 2 young men, these 2 brothers started to have more deep feelings toward each others.  This romance is much more complex than it seems to be but I can understand that for some us, this romance is waaaaayyy more than tabboo and forbidden ...
- “Filty Rich Boys” by C.M. Stunich: 4 stars
- “Two Can Keep A Secret” by Karen McManus: 4 stars
- “Boy Shattered” by Eli Easton: 4 stars
- “Say You’re Sorry” by Melinda Leigh: 4 stars
- “Cruel Intentions” by Siobhan Davis: 4 stars
- “Bad, Bad Blue Blood” by C.M. Stunich: 3.5 stars
- “#Selfie” by Cambria Hebert: 5 stars
- “Breaking Beth” by Jennifer Bene: 3 stars

Book Review: The Dragon Kings Chronicles: Book 17 by Kimberly Loth
With Pierre dead, the guardians are in chaos. Several rise to take his place as leader, but Isa doesn’t trust any of them. She tries to force Drew into the role, but behind the scenes, they refuse to listen to him. Liam needs to leave to hunt down the wizard, but there is no way he’s leaving Isa in the hands of the enemy. He mutinies and brings Drew and a few others with him. But with the guardians divided, Isa is in even more danger…

Tumblr media
Isa is trying to accept the truth about Grace, but that's really hard because she feels like she doesn't know her anymore. However, she has worse problems, as her guardians find themselves in chaos after losing their leader. Liam tries to find out their plans to prevent them from making decisions that could harm Isa. He’s ready to face the evil wizard, but doesn’t trust the guardians to protect her. Meanwhile, Sid prepares for war, joining his warriors to venture to Europe in order to confront the queen. Isa grew a lot in this book, we see her maturity in dealing with Grace’s secret. On the other hand, I liked the way Ruby and Damon had to deal with how they feel about each other, rediscovering their true emotions now that they are not sealed. And I loved Damon's enthusiasm for being a dragon, he's really adorable. I really liked this book, it was very entertaining and it hooked me from beginning to end. It was full of drama and conflicts, the tension and anticipation for the battle could be felt through the pages, that moment just before the storm. Some clues are revealed that make us suspicious about what’s really happening, leaving us really scared about what’s going to happen. It’s an amazing story.

Il blog consiglia "Valentine. The dragon kings vol.

He stands near me though, and his musky smell lingers in the air - hinting at snowstorms. We only get a few snowfalls each year, but the smell is so unique, so clean and crisp. It covers the rest of the world. That mixed with cedarwood is Ryne's scent, and I have to fight the urge to close my eyes and breathe it in.
