Author’s note: Hi there! This is my first time writing and posting a fic. I’ve done plenty of writing in my free time, but it’s mostly scenes or very short stories that take me a couple hours to write. Nothing like I plan for this fic. I don’t plan on making this a series, but who knows what happens? I’m also not completely sure when I’ll be posting the full length since it’s in the early stages of life as of now, but I’m shooting for the end of February. May take a bit longer, but that is my goal. As always, if you like feel free to chat with me anytime. My asks, submissions, and inbox are always open.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You watched as the flames carried their way towards the ceiling of the home. You kept your gaze steady, unwavering, even as the screams of the family grew louder. A mother yelled for her child, someone called Gunho, choking on the smoke as she did so. Your father stood beside you, his eyes bored and a deep frown on his face. He was over the game now, and though your expression did not change, your body began to relax. Finally, it would be over. Finally, you could grieve the family you had help destroy.
“Y/N,” Your father whispered, “Make sure they’re all dead before you go home. I’m bored and your mother will be worried if I’m not home when she returns from the market.”
You nod, “Where have I been?”
“The profit boy’s home for guidance.”
Jung Hoseok had become the family’s scapegoat for your whereabouts for years now. Mother would definitely believe the story, and you prepared yourself for the lie that would eat away at another piece of your sanity. However, the thought of your father turning his back on you for letting the façade slip was far scarier than your mother’s disappointment. You would take being the unwanted one over a bastard. At least you could make sure she was safe at this distance. At least he could not take her away from you this way.
“Should I wait for the target to arrive?” Your voice giving nothing away.
“No,” He replied, already turning away. “This is his bounty.”
“Of course, father.” Then, you were one with the shadows as you stalked towards the burning house.

date for the night | kth
Tumblr media
pairing; taehyung x female reader
✎ prompt; “What I’m about to do is totally crazy, but just roll with it.”
request; Prompt #79 with taehyung please:) by anon
Tumblr media
overly high-class people stood around, chattering while sipping expensive champagne from their expensive champagne glasses. the alcohol in taehyung’s glass was almost untouched, only a single sip gone from it. people around him seemed to fit in perfectly and he was supposed to feel that way too and yet he didn’t. he always hated these parties, never feeling like he was supposed be there even though his father usually was the host of these elite, upper class parties.
“where’s your date, honey?” taehyung’s mother asked him not long ago, almost right when the party had started. he had assured her that his date was on her way, running a bit late. his mother had then given him a look of disapproval, that a person of wealth shouldn’t and wouldn’t ever be running late to a prestigious party like his father’s. he had watched her waltz away, blending in and mingling with seoul’s finest people and doing what she did best – talk about how much of a big shot her husband, taehyung’s father, was.
he looked around in boredom, not recognising a single soul because they’re all his parents’ age and above that. that was until he spotted a familiar face a few meters away, standing alone and looking out of place just like him. or he didn’t look out of place, he most likely looked like someone who felt out of place. and so did you.
taehyung excused himself from the small group of noble people around him to make his way to you. you didn’t notice his presence until he spoke up.
“you look like you could use some company that isn’t old men and snobby women,” he smirked as he appeared in front of you. you jumped slightly as he captured your attention instead of whatever you had been staring at. you didn’t really pay attention to what it was, perhaps it was the huge hat some random women was wearing not too far from where you and taehyung stood.
you smiled at him, happy to finally see someone you actually know and want to talk to. “please, save me from this hell on earth,” you rolled your eyes as you gestured to your surroundings.
taehyung chuckled, hands in the pockets of his dress pants. he slowly felt himself relax more and more due to your presence, your smile doing a lot to ease the feeling of feeling out of place at a place where he fit in perfectly – if his looks and wealth were something to base it on.
“well, i’m glad you’re here. makes it less insufferable,” he smiled sweetly at you and you felt yourself blush lightly at his discreet compliment. before he could speak up again, he spotted his parents over the shoulder of you. his eyes widened slightly as they were heading towards the two of you. he knew they’d be asking questions about you and who you were, and he was a hundred percent sure they’d assume you were his date, his fake made-up date who never was meant to show up. panicking, he looked at you with the same widened eyes.
worry fills yours as you frown lightly, “taehyung, are you okay?”
he curses mentally at the idea that pops into his head. “What I’m about to do is totally crazy, but just roll with it.”
and before you can protest or say anything at all, he’s spinning you around and wrapping his arm around his waist. you feel your cheeks burn at the feeling, the slight crush you’ve had on kim taehyung for the past years of coming to these parties still lingering in your mind and heart. your eyes widened slightly in terror at the sight of mr. and mrs. kim in front of you, smiling warmly at their son and less warmly at you. what’s happening?
“taehyung, sweetie, is this your date for the evening?” his mother asked, looking at you even though she was asking taehyung.
taehyung smiled from beside you as you glanced at him. he didn’t spare you a glance as he nodded. “yes mother, this is she. i’d like you to meet ____,” he introduced you, giving your hip a tiny squeeze as if to tell you to just roll with it, as he so kindly said before throwing you into this situation. “my date for  the evening.”
“it’s a pleasure to meet you, mrs. kim,” you told her, extending your hand to shake hers. taehyung’s mother takes your hand, eyeing you down before shaking it. “and you as well, mr. kim.”
his father seems more than pleased to see you standing beside taehyung, his mother although. she looks skeptical but decides to just roll with it like you did.
“likewise,” his mother taunts, offering you a tightlipped smile. you freeze slightly in taehyung’s hold, wishing he hadn’t pulled you into this situation. you’d make sure to tell him off later when his parents weren’t around anymore. “will you be joining us at the our table during the meal?”
you glance to taehyung, hoping he’d save you. he gets the hint, squeezing himself into the conversation. “she will, yes.”
his mother beams. “perfect, we will see you then.”
you nod, smiling so much your cheeks hurt. once his parents are out of sight, you turn to taehyung. you slap his bicep, glaring at him. “what were you thinking?”
he winces. “sorry, i wasn’t really. i panicked,” he explains and continues when you stay silent, “my mother has been on my case for the past week, telling me to bring a date and start settling down and you happened to stand just there, right when his parents came up to you for a small talk.
your eyes soften at this. “you could’ve just asked,” you told him, touching his arm softly. his skin burns through his habit jacket. “i’d help you out.”
taehyung smiles at you with a small blush to his cheeks. “thanks.”

CHAPTER 2: A CATFISH
Tumblr media
Pairing: Kim Taehyung x Jeon Jungkook
Contents: high school au, romance, fluff, angst, smut, enemies to lovers, fake relationship, implied/referenced sexual assault, trauma,
Word Count: 1.1k
Summary: It was well known that Taehyung was handsome, a heartthrob. The girls wanted him and the guys wanted to be him. He was so lovable and always emitting positive vibes, but when he returns to school after an unknown incident, everyone can tell that he's different in some way.
In spite of his efforts to maintain the same facade as last year, he ended up lying about aspects of his life for the sake of covering up the past.
“Yeah you’re right, I was just with my boyfriend all summer.”
[Chapter Index]
━━━━━━━━━▲━━━━━━━━━
Taehyung's face flushed even more when he heard those words, ‘my boyfriend?’. For a moment, he was convinced, but he knew it was just a ruse. But he must go ahead with his plan.
“Listen Jungkook, this might sound weird, but-”
As Taehyung stepped closer to him, he was pushed by people walking on the sidewalk from behind. It was unexpected, but before he could trip over and fall on his face, Jungkook had already caught him. Jungkook held him by the arms and looked down at him. While facing the man, Taehyung realized the position they were in, he then backed away quickly from him.
“I-I’m so sorry!”
“No, it’s fine, but are you okay?” Jungkook asked, and it was obvious he was worried, but Taehyung just thought he messed everything up. He couldn't look at Jungkook any more.
Taehynug nodded before walking to the side of the sidewalk where there weren't as many people and waved the man over. Jungkook obliged, and went over to where Taehyung was, still concerned for the younger.
“I know this is going to sound…weird, but please don’t be freaked out or something.”
Jungkook chuckled before shaking his head, “C’mon don’t be so worried. I can take it.”
Taehyung's stomach clenched in pain and a wave of nausea enveloped him as he thought of his whole plan going to pieces after telling Jungkook the truth. Initially, he thought it wouldn't be this difficult, but his body had other ideas.
He avoided eye contact with the male and looked up at his forehead instead, "So I need a favor...I guess you can call it that."
"A favor?"
As Taehyung pondered what to say, he relaxed his body back and forth while nodding his head slowly.
"Yeah. Long story short, I lied to my friend and now he thinks I'm dating someone....if you can, can you maybe go along with this whole…..facade?"
For a moment, he followed Jungkook's gaze and bore the expression he was portraying. While he could not completely understand what the male was thinking, he felt better knowing that he got that off his chest. It made him feel less like a liar.
"Why did you have to lie?" Jungkook asked out of curiosity.
Taehyung crossed his arms, "It’s none of your business, really."
Looking back at what he said, he felt that it came out wrong and a little too sassy. Originally he didn't intend to sound so defensive, but when he thought about his past decision to lie to Jimin, he felt that it was childish.
“J-just, please." Taehyung pleaded. At that moment, he couldn't bear to look at Jungkook. Following the cars as they passed by alongside him, he kept his eyes on the side of the road.
"What do I get out of this?"
"What do you mean?"
“What I mean is that I need something in return for going along with this silly plan.”
Jungkook's expression was one of unimpressed surprise when Taehyung saw him looking up at him. As he leaned back against the light pole that was fixed to the ground of the sidewalk he was on, his arms were crossed on top of his chest. Standing there, he looked at Taehyung for an answer.
Taking a step back, Taehyung pondered, “Wasn’t the money that I paid for this “date” enough?”
His comment was met with a chuckle and a shake of the head from Jungkook.
“Of course not. I don’t usually do these things when I go on these dates. Faking a relationship with someone I don’t know is extra pay. So, what’s it gonna be?”
Jungkook's tone was intimidating, and he quickly changed from the warm and kind man he had met just moments before to someone cold and intimidating.
Taehyung thought for a moment, “How much?”
Rather shrugging, Jungkook replied, "$30."
Astonished, Taehyung exclaimed, "$30!" and stared at Jungkook, waiting for him to explain it was a joke or that he was not expecting that much money out of him. Ultimately, Taehyung consigned himself to looking at each other, sighing in defeat.
"Fine, I-I'll Venmo you the money after.”
Jungkook perched a smile, however it was obvious to Taehyung that it was anything but genuine. Taehyung was interrupted by a loud scream from behind him before he could say anything else.
"Taehyungie!"
Immediately he could tell that it was Jimin and looked over at Jungkook before turning around, "Please don't mess this up for me." He whispered. Taehyung could see Jimin running over to both of them, bumping into other people as he did so. Suddenly, Jungkook grabbed hold of his shoulder and pulled him back so that they were standing next to each other. In surprise, Taehyung jumped when he wrapped his arm around his waist. Jungkook leaned in closer to Taehyung's ear and whispered back, "I should say the same for you. You're so stiff so loosen up and act like you love me."
“`Seeing how you really are, I think that would be difficult.”
Jungkook snickered in response before rolling his eyes. Taehyung followed suit, and before he knew it, Jimin was standing before him looking at the two of them with sparkles in his eyes.
"Hey J-"
"You guys look so good together." Jimin interjected, "You're making me jealous."
Taehyung could only laugh nervously before Jungkook stepped into the conversation.
"You must be Taehyung's friend?” Jimin immediately nodded and grabbed a hold of Jungkook's hand before shaking it. "Yes, yes I am! And you must be…"
"Jeon Jungkook."
“Right! Tae has told me all about you."
Jungkook chuckled and looked over at Taehyung who only kept his head low, “Did he really?”
It was only Taehyung who could look at his feet, feeling embarrassed and a little bit uncomfortable, and felt Jungkook's arm tighten around his waist. It was an odd feeling though, because he felt butterflies in his stomach. However, he didn't know why he felt that way. Jungkook, of course, is a beautiful man, anybody can see that. Despite this, Taehyung can tell that Jungkook is really a douchebag.
"H-how about we talk more about this inside!” He explained.
Though he wasn't fully aware of what he was getting himself into, he did know that if he continued this facade, it would be a long ride. Perhaps it would have been better to tell Jimin the truth, or perhaps say that he and Jungkook broke up a few days later. There were so many scenarios he could imagine in his mind, but all that mattered was making sure he got through this date with the man who is totally different from his profile.
'He totally catfished me...'
