Spectrasonics社の製品を複数読み込んだら「STEAM Folder not found.」
D:\Keyscape\STEAM\Keyscape\[
D:\Trilian\STEAM\Trilian\[
D:\Keyscape\STEAM\Keyscape\[データ] \Trilian\[空] D:\Trilian\STEAM\Trilian\[データ] \Keyscape\[空]
D:\Spectrasonics\STEAM\Trilian\[データ] \Keyscape\[データ]

Oh nice, I haven't tried the M-Tron before, I should investigate it! I use mello V yeah, I really like it, but I wouldn't know enough about the mellotron to know which one is more accurate. I imagine the difference is quite small though. Although the fact M-Tron comes with Birotron tapes is verrryyyyy appealing to me bc I am lowkey haunted by that thing. I need to play it so bad
mellotronmkII sir have you got the arturia mello V plugin??
I do not because I'm cheap and ran into issues obtaining it through .... means so I wound up getting the g force M-tron pro which I do use and enjoy messing around with a lot however I still wanna try the Arturia one! I ended up getting the m tron out of practicality but I've read forum posts where people talk about the differences and it seems like the general consensus is that the tapes in the m-tron sound cleaner which is either a pro or con depending on your tastes i guess...seems like some people prefer one and some the other so I would definitely be curious to try out the Arturia and compare. Do you have it and do you like it?
#around this time of year Arturia does a sale on their software bundle that includes most of their synth VSTs#i mean. its still pricey but cheaper than buying all the modules individually#also have you tried omnisphere or keyscape?

You've mentioned that you make music, what's your DAW of choice? And do you have any particular favorite plugins/instruments you like to use?
logic pro x is Da Goat for music production far as I'm concerned, but I used to be a huge Sekaiju fan when I did pure MIDI sequencing. I still sometimes use it for sketching
my favorite instrument of all time is the Korg Trinity Plus, I use it all the time in every production and I would never ever wanna be without it <3 second fav is Roland 88Pro cause it's how I got started making something more complex than bleep bloop and its SO easy to use. my fav soft synth tho is probably Omnisphere? really nice bit of software with tons n tons of sounds to use, it's great for when I need to fill a niche and all my hardware is in use
ig for context my full setup is Roland RD600, SC88Pro, SC55, Yamaha Motif, VL70m Turbo, MU90, Korg Trinity Plus for hardware. and software, Korg M1, Wavestation, Roland JV800, SRX Orchestra, Spectrasonics Omnisphere, Trillian, Stylus RMX, Keyscape

I am now actually for real done with the semester! And it's been honestly great despite everything.
I've pivoted to doing 99% of my assignments from home so I can get used to my own tools and not the tools provided on campus. This led to me completely changing what kinds of music I write. I have barely bought any sample libraries because they're expensive as fuck, I'd rather play with synths and self-record on cello/record other musicians... and boy are logic loops a game changer for quick projects. Because of this limitation, I've really found my voice I think.
I also just had classes that overall I really loved. I took counterpoint for fun and it's been one of the most valuable composition fundamentals courses I've ever taken. I took a course on Unity/C# and it's led to me making a bad demo game, that I might be able to keep building until it's not bad anymore and might actually be not just a good portfolio piece but also just something I will always be super proud of. I took a composition course that was absolutely godawful but despite that I managed to create 2 pieces of music I'm really happy with anyway. And I made a lot of silly Chopin remixes and quick and dirty bangers for a kind of bad class on game music, so even that was fun.
And most importantly I've had lessons with an absolutely phenomenal teacher who has similar values to me and has been the perfect balance of constructive and supportive. She's helped me with everything from FFIX Zine arrangements to feedback on mechanics for my point-and-click game to ideas for sound design and dynamic composition for games. She's been so amazing and it's thanks to her I've really started feeling like I have a path forward. (Last year I did not really have any faculty who weren't deeply entrenched in like huge budget cinematic games made by massive companies, so I'm so thankful to have been finally connected with someone who plays hidden object games for aunties and can help me identify what aspects of Professor Layton puzzle themes make them effective.)
I've done a lot of recording sessions, mostly for zine pieces. I want to make sure I continue that into next semester, especially to do at least a couple sessions for original pieces.
Anyway I'm now going to spend my holiday break doing a lot of resting.
I might get myself one (1) sample library as a reward for getting through the semester though. My teacher recommended keyscape as a must have for keyboard instruments. I'll have to think about it bc it, like every "pro" sample library, is super expensive 😩
#personal#i am constantly battling between getting good with the tools i do have and acknowledging when i really do need to invest in new ones
