I know we all talk a lot about what the series did wrong and for good reason but what elements do you think the show did right?
Rapunzel needing to learn how to be a leader. Not only that, Rapunzel needing to learn how to exist within society. While I'm not a huge fan of "Rapunzel: Day One," one of the things I did particularly like about it was that we got to see how far she's come as a person since she left the tower.
Rapunzel and Eugene's relationship development is fantastic. It's very realistic for him to feel like he's seen the world, he's ready to settle down, and for her to feel like committing to marriage would take her much-needed freedom from her. (We all know that's wrong, but a lot of society thinks it's right, and that's likely what she would have been told.) But then! Then they spend the entirety of the series getting to know and understand each other better, so by the time we reach the epilogue of the series, he knew that him "checking in" was going to be a big, fat "yes!"
Eugene's dialogue. The vast majority of my favorite lines are Eugene's.
Varian's redemption arc, while a little rushed, was done well.
The art style and animation are gorgeous, and I love them to pieces, especially the farther into the series it got. S3 was *chef's kiss* in terms of animation.
The songs and score are, for the most part, great.
When it got dark, it got dark, and I really appreciate that. You know they had to pull punches because of the rating, but that didn't stop them from having Rapunzel nearly kill everyone with an unknown spell or having mirror doppelgangers go all body horror on us.
Whether or not the writing was good, the emotion was so well-acted and felt so genuine.
Lance Strongbow! Even though he didn't get the treatment he deserved, I love that they knew Eugene needed a friend outside of Rapunzel. That's so healthy! I love Lance as a character and as a concept. I love his humor and his voice and how he wears his heart on his sleeve. He's amazing.

“We did not fight so hard to bring our friend back, only to lose her now.”
Kevin Kliesch updated his project profile with unreleased scores from the Tangled series, which happened to include this stunning version of Alan Menken’s original incantation melody—a composition that continues to be a favorite of mine twelve years later.

Bam!
4 and 9?
4. "What was your favorite season?"
Oh, definitely season 1! It's the only one that had decent pacing and the most interesting storytelling, though season 2 is a comfort season because it has most of mt favorite characters and concepts in it, such as Hector, Adira, Stalyan, the loose Brotherhood lore in general, Calliope, the Great Tree as well as Seraphina and a King Trevor cameo at one point. Funny times!
9. "Pick 3 favorite songs from the series!"
Oooo, now you got me. "Let Me Make You Proud" (+ Reprise), "Ready as I'll Ever Be", "Waiting in the Wings" and "Nothing Left To Lose" are fan favorites in a way, so I will leave those as my "default" favorites.
My other real favorites are "Listen Up", "Buddy Song" and "I'd Give Anything For You", but only if the latter is in the Demanitus-Zhan Tiri context or Adira-Hector context. For spice heheheh
Honorable mentions would be "Crossing the Line" (which I really really like, despite most reviews saying they don't like it too much), "Everything I Ever Thought I Knew" and "Next Stop Anywhere".
Another honorable mention that isn't a song per se, but rather a score, would be "Onward To The Dark Kingdom", which played in the very last minutes of the Great Tree episode. The ending of that song (music?) made me think so much of She-Ra, and also of the "This is the point of no return for the Main Characters", and it was just... Man, it was GOOD.

Tangled: The Series - Zhan Tiri/Lord Demanitus Theme
In the Tangled theme, there is a certain theme song that plays up whenever the narrative shifts the focus to either Zhan Tiri or Lord Demanitus. Both themes go hand in hand, however the midseason finale of Season 1 was where these themes first appeared and from then on, they all varied. It's pretty interesting to know. The score was found on Kevin Kliech's website, along with many other scores for the series.

Am I the only one who wishes we got some of that sweet sweet Tangled The Series/Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure underscore? Like, the underscore is just as good as some of the songs. Like in “The Brother’s Hook” when Hook Foot dances, i really liked that music. Love Kevin Kliesch’s underscore.

i vaguely remember a few years ago a post that went around about the full Tangled (2010) soundtrack. It included every single bit of music from the movie, not just the eleven score pieces on the soundtrack. Does that seem familiar? I might be making this up but I'd really love to find it again if it does exist.
I honestly don’t know about a post about that, but I have that soundtrack! It absolutely exists! I wish you luck finding it!

The score, though?
“Tower escape and destruction” is SO. GREAT. Reminded me of “Cavern Chase”. So much power, so intense!
Kevin Kliesch NAILED IT.
Can we get a CD with a full score? Pretty please?

Honestly, the score of this episode was probably my favorite of the entire series.
Okay but like no one is talking about how good the underscore was in the finale
Like when Rapunzel and Arianna were riding their horses and the orchestral version of “Wind in My Hair” was playing like... that was beautiful.

Is there anywhere to find the instrumental soundtrack of TTS? I'm trying to find the background music for the show.
There are the official tracks included on the S2 soundtrack, and there is Kevin Kliesch's webpage. You'll need audio-ripping software to get it off of there, and it's not all of the tracks, just the ones he chose to share.
They're also listed alphabetically by title, so if you need to know what the chronological order is, I figured it all out when I was first directed to his page.

Rocks Point the Way - Secret of the Sundrop
This score plays when Rapunzel begins her journey to the Dark Kingdom after defeating Varian. I adore the triumphant music near the end, and when I first watched the episode when I was 11, my childish mind thought that Rapunzel would suddenly get superpowered if she stepped on the rocks.

About Kevin Kliesch...
I think I’m going to dive into his older score for Justice League and some others if available but... maybe that’s just my passion for darkness but hmm... I think his work is brilliant and powerful but it can never be “truly finished”
He’s got talent for more powerful, energetic pieces and more diverse compositions with darker undertones but for those one needs a good show that may end in bombastic climax and resolution of multiple ongoing arcs, lore stuff included. Meanwhile, ThunderCats 2011 was cancelled and Tangled the Series finished on a bad note (previous demonic vibes and powerful lore stuff were cheapened in last season... so nothing truly “bombastic” there, Tangled 1-2 are still more powerful when it comes to epic score/story being told).
You, sir, truly deserve your own animated show to score that may last a couple of seasons where “darkness intensity” (and also mystery!) increases with each one until the very end, with characters written properly and lore well-explained, more engaging villains who don’t ever play dumb and “other” mysterious forces at play. I’m sure the score would be legendary
something like... Ancient spirits of evil and Zhan Tiri of S1-2 having a baby... and that baby is really very well appreciated and properly handled by the showrunners in their plots
