many IXLUVS were excited when it was announced that EXILE HER would be attending MAMA this year. like some of the artist, y/n appeared on both days; however, only performed during DAY 2. along with her solo performance, y/n also participated in the SUPER STAGE: GODDESS AWAKENED stage with YUNJIN of LE SSERAFIM, XIAOTING of KEP1ER, BADA LEE from STREET WOMAN FIGHTER 2, MONIKA from STREET WOMAN FIGHTER, and MINNIE of (G)I-DLE.

( RED CARPET ) being styled in a black and white dress by the brand stars n' bones, y/n was a stunner on the red carpet. the idol did a mixture of both seductive and playful poses for the camera that won a lot of netizens hearts. many fans commented on how y/n hasn't looked like she's had this much fun at MAMA since her debut at the award show.

( DITTO + GODS ) y/n's performance began with her singing the opening to "DITTO" with a single spotlight on her as dancers danced around her in school uniforms. styled in a long black coat-dress with a tule skirt, y/n embodies a very solemn tone at the beginning of her performance as she dances to the choreo while the camera spins around her. the song fades into "GODS" as she does a quick outfit change revealing a dress underneath. more dancers appear on stage with them all wearing black hoods pulled over their heads. this performance had a more powerful presence compared to her opening and thought both songs went extremely well together. the performance was regarded as one of the best ones at the award show.

hijinxx would start off their run on queendom with an orchestral version of their hit title track attitude for the first round. the crowd was blown away by the performance and uptick in sound and in strings, live and at-home audiences having a positive reaction.

when it came time for the self assessments, the girls would up vote hyolyn’s performance. they themselves would be up voted by viviz and kep1er, but down voted by brave girls—which sparked netizen speculation online. at the end of the battle, the girls would rank second, just a few thousand points behind hyolyn.

round two ⸻ the cover song battle.

with their pick for wjsn this round, hijinxx performed save me, save you from their 2018 ep ‘wj please’? their cover took on a somber twist to the upbeat song—complete with eerie strings and dark stage outfits. having a live orchestra with them on stage alongside the tweaked backtrack intrigued the audience, cementing them earlier on as performers dedicated not only to their craft but their visuals as well. they would remain in second place when it came to the self assessments.

round three part one ⸻ the position unit battle.

with the group split cleanly down the middle between the two units — ahyeon and eunji for the vocal unit, micha and yuina for the dance unit — fans were eager to see how the girls would perform separated from each other. eunji would make a comment that it reminded her of their house of cards days, only with less stress because she would still have them all by the end of the show. the moment warmed netizen hearts, especially when ahyeon promised to treat them all to a big dinner regardless of their position after it all.

ahyeon and eunji would perform iu’s hold my hand alongside viviz’s eunha and wjsn’s soobin and yeonjung. it was no surprise that eunji was quick to become a fan favorite for her heartfelt emotion while singing, especially being a longtime fan of iu long before she even debuted, but fans were just as surprised to note how well ahyeon’s voice meshed as well. ahyeon herself would say that singing was something she was constantly working on to be more confident in since most of her comfortability resigned to being behind the scenes. so it was to her tearful surprise that their unit won first place.

as for the dance unit, micha and yuina would be paired with hyolyn and wjsn’s yeoreum and eunseo. already known as the group’s strongest stage performers, excitement for their stage was already through the roof—but the live audience was blown away by the energy brought by their synchronization. yuina’s facial expressions would also go viral once again, as well as micha and hyolyn’s chemistry. despite the energy and effort they put in, the unit would only rank second place.

round three part two ⸻ fantastic queendom.

in part two of round three, the fans would give their input and choose shatter me as the song they wanted the girls to perform. and in sticking true to the theme they had somewhat established during their time on the show, hijinxx performed an yet another orchestral version of the powerful song. their performance was full of drama from the exaggerated moves to the newly heightened instrumental, and the high note sung live by eunji only added to the overall atmosphere.

the other contestants would describe their performance as ‘insanely good’ and ‘emotional’, a funny clip of chuu going viral for standing up out of her seat to show the goosebumps she’d gotten from their stage. at the end of voting, this would give hijinxx their first top ranking at first place together since the show began.

the final round ⸻ the live comeback stage.

for the final round, hijinxx performed a new song cryptically titled ‘because’ as their last performance. with the fun instrumental, a live band playing behind them, and back up dancers dressed like them but with detailed masked obscuring their faces, both the audiences and other contestants were in for a treat. the track was produced by ahyeon, who had head creative vision over the performance outfits as well. this would earn them their second first place win.

this performance along with the rest of their stages cemented hijinxx as an upcoming group with dominance in both stage presence and vocal ability. in the moments where all the contestants stood waiting to be told who the winner was, the girls were standing at the very end of the left side of the stage as if in their own world. hands held tightly, and the three youngest with their eyes closed as ahyeon looked over them fondly.

and as the girls huddled together, biding their experience on the show — taeyeon would announce their first place ranking as the winners of the season. yuina’s head would snap up first with a gasp before letting out a loud scream. her abrupt reaction would scare both eunji and micha, causing a chain reaction ending with ahyeon blinking back into focus just as the award was placed in her hands. it would be left to micha to give a short speech on the group’s behalf with eunji and yuina crying in each other’s arms and ahyeon looking like the events of the entire show were suddenly catching up to her.

the girls would then celebrate on stage, thanking the hosts and mingling with the other contestants. later that same night, a celebratory dinner picture would be taken with ahyeon making sure on her promise.

the craziest christmas party ive ever attended...(storytime!)

God, the flu fucking sucks. Imagine being healthy for three straight years, working out as often as possible, and then the one time you get caught in the middle of a rain, the next day you begin falling ill. Headaches. Body aches. Cough. Dry throat. Completely zapped all my energy and three years of positive momentum just like that.

One week later, after several trips to the hospital, plenty of rest and medications in between, I was beginning to pick myself back up. If there was any silver lining, I lost weight during that time period because I couldn't eat anything. Even so, I still felt...off. I was forgetting things more often than usual, my clarity and awareness would disappear at random times, and it felt like my body was moving on its own. I felt like I had no control over myself.

This is practically the reason why I've kind of disappeared over the last month or so. The illness completely took me down and I've basically forgotten how to write :< Seriously, I feel like the main character in Memento, trying to pick up the pieces of what the hell happened. I'm getting better with each passing day, though, so hopefully this will all be behind me as we enter the holiday season.

Anyway, it's not often that this country gets to host an international entertainment event, let alone one of the premier Korean awards. No idea, I don't really watch these things at all. The idea of seeing so many K-pop acts and actors in one setting appealed to me. Not to mention the actual lineup? NewJeans! Le sserafim! Mother Eunbi! Itzy! Stayc! Kep1er! Kim Sejeong! Many of these acts are either making their stage debut or have returned numerous times. This was easily a must attend. Who knows when we'll get another opportunity like this, especially after the controversy and backlash surrounding the handling of the ceremony.

I got fortunate buying the tickets. To be fair, they were expensive by local concert standards; 50 USD at the very back to 450 for VIP, which is a significant punch up compared to a typical K-pop concert even solo held in the very same arena. Not to mention, the site automatically picks the tickets for you, rather than give buyers the freedom of choice to select specific seats. It also helps that the pricing turned plenty of people off, on top of previous negative experiences in that arena for other fans. Even better was when I actually entered the venue; since there were so many vacant seats during the beginning, we were moved up to the very front, right where the artists were all seated ahead of us.

Honestly. Shitty camera aside, the scenes were priceless.

I admit I mostly went for the female acts, especially my girlies Le sserafim and Eunbi, but I've learned to give so much respect and appreciate everyone who performed. Regardless of their status and popularity, nugu or main event, the crowd was electric and passionate: they would cheer, sing along to the songs, and interact with the performer when they would ask. There wasn't a dull moment all throughout the seven hour program.

Speaking of seven hours, I can see why I don't watch this shit live: it can be taxing to the mind and body. I had to get up during one of the longer awardings, one where they gave it to like 10 different artists just to stretch my legs. I respect what Wonyoung, Daniel, and Hanbin did to host, cause I'm pretty sure either way my legs would end up melting like jelly after everything that had transpired.

Man. NewJeans. Freaking NewJeans. I understand why they're so beloved and revered like they're the second coming: they truly love their fans. And holy shit, the pop from the audience when they entered the venue for the first time, and they were practically the main characters of the show. Every little thing they did was met with raucous applause. They waved at us like a dozen times all throughout the show and were having fun from beginning to end. Also, the crowd went fucking crazy for their performance. OMG into ETA is insanely hard.

AND THE AUDACITY TO FOLLOW UP NEWJEANS WITH MOTHERFUCKING LE SSERAFIM?! Best transition ever! Their set was even better than MAMA: Perfect Night (holy shit that choreo) into Eve, Psyche, and Bluebeard's Wife (holy shit that choreo). Their aura was through the roof! Unsurprisingly, they also had the crowd going nuclear.

I'm just gonna blitz through the section of favorite performances because if I had to describe them all this would be longer than any of my fics in recent times. Kim Jaejoong is a fucking legend and I was shook when he transitioned from balladeer to a goddamn rockstar. The opening with &Team and SB19 with Gento set the tone for the rest of the show. Kep1er's dance breaks. GOD. I wish it wasn't accompanied with flashing lights cause they were so fucking hot. Mother Kwon Eunbi proved why she's goddamn mother! ITZY had me singing fucking Cake of all songs. AKMU was quirky and fun and thats why I love K-pop. Also, the sibling dynamic reminded me of my rather strange and turbulent relationship with my sister. Just a random anecdote.

The ending was where shit was dialed up to eleven. I feel very lukewarm towards Stray Kids' newer releases post Back Door, but they absolutely brought the heat by opening with Maniac. Get Lit then Topline was when they brought everyone to their feet, including us the audience! And if that wasn't enough, here comes BooSeokSoon (BSS) to end the show on the perfect high. Like none of us were sitting down once it ended.

On top of all the performances, there's the interactions too. Oh man. I was hoping that Le sserafim, ITZY, Kep1er, or Eunbi—any combination of these—would be seated on our side, but we got NewJeans. And they kept interacting with us. So much. Every single member noticed me at least once and I somehow got Hanni on camera. Insanity. If that wasn't enough, NMIXX were also placed on our side, and Lily, Haewon, Bae, and Kyujin waved at us multiple times as well, including during the final goodbyes. STAYC's Yoon went around to wave to everyone in the audience during the intermission period, and after their initial entrance into the venue, Sumin and Seeun waved at us. I really wish I had my cameras on but I was so focused on capturing anyone's attention! It worked; I also got the attention of several other groups, from ZeroBaseOne to Tempest to SB19 to Sakurazaka46. They transferred Le sserafim over to our side late into the ceremony and I was hoping they would interact with us; it wasn't meant to be. I don't have any negative feelings cause I still got copiously blessed with so many other acts.

I don't know what's gonna happen moving forward. Considering the backlash and issues that have sprung in regards to the handling of the ceremony, there's a good likelihood an award show of this scale will ever be hosted again. Or maybe the energy shown by the crowd will inspire future ceremonies, like MAMA or Golden Disc. Who knows. What I do know is that everything about this felt like both a dream and a movie. To see many of my favorites, gain respect for groups I hadn't heard of till last week, and just attend an award show in general is a damn good way to end the year.

Not so much in Korea. IL2GG seem to be more relevant outside of Korea as of now as some netizens might be dissapointed with the final lineup. Therefore, in Korea the girl group will be with indifferent popularity. Fortunately, they won't be with exact the same path like Kep1er because they'll have some fans who will be loyal but won't be enough for W1 to stabilize their local fanbase.

Overall, in Korea they might be with similar popularity as Kep1er. Will have some fans, maybe a bit more but won't gain much afterwards. Outside of Korea will be better, maybe will be compared to ZB1 when it comes to sales and relevance.

I don't feel anything else, to be honest.

While shuffling, The8 popped up somehow in my mind. He seems to do well while the rest of the members who are obligied to do their military service are serving in the military. Aside from that, SEVENTEEN will jiggle eventually subunit and solo activities around the time you asked, whenever it happens to be. Pledis seem to plan for the time when it happens. I'd say despite the instability that might occur, like usual, to be honest.

not so certain as it feels. as the issues are behind the scenes, when it comes to i'll-it, if i have to compare them to le sserafim, ili girls will try to actually disband. maybe this will turn out in such bittersweet situation.. because they're rookies, ili have the advantage to be bold as they aren't as repressed as other idols. i see wonhee as the most vocal member out of all 5 of them and i won't be suprised if she goes on another hiatus.

after the comeback in august, it's just too foggy, the plans for le sserafim might be non-existent. from what i see, the girls don't think it's worth it to be a group and they would prefer to have solo activities instead. the situation surrounding them can simply turn into being similar to blackpink's when it comes to the activities and the releases if le sserafim tell source music about it. i don't believe the girls will want to stay as a group even after the hate stops.

personally, i see hybe might take somehow le sserafim's side while when it somes to le sserafim's busyness, soumu want to work like usual. the moon might show the biggest wall here where the first 2 cards are soumu's intentions (pretty much like usual) while the last 2 hybe's (might want them to disband, too much to handle when it comes to them).

i don't thnk their bond is the worst one when it comes to sunoo's dynamics with the other members but rather that there is some difficulties. they seem to come from sunoo's side as he has trust issues for some of the members. so in reality, their relationship between each other is greater if i have to compare with some others. their friendship is more visible behind the scenes where they are actually closer. the potential for their friendship to be the best sunoo will have with the rest of enha is there only if they focus on each other's ... i cannot think of the right word, but they should believe on each other. however, due to an event that jake didn't believed him is reasonable why.
