BTS of #RWRBMovie: set design
Oval Office:
As you might have imagined, the production did not have access to the actual White House for the scenes set there. Those sets were built on a soundstage. "We took a deep dive into researching the White House, so the construction is based on the actual building," production designer Miren Marañón said in a press brief. Since United States presidents are able to decorate the Oval Office how they'd like, Marañón's aim was to "convey the character of a woman who was bold and made it to the top." So, the design team incorporated a color palette of soft blues and oranges. "Orange is a color you need to take carefully, but I thought Ellen [the president] could handle it and it was brave of her to have that in the Oval," Marañón said. The White House sculptures subtly enhance the fictional first-ever woman president’s design touch. "They are almost all female sculptures," Marañón added. "You can see Lady Liberty, the Scales of Justice, a Valkyrie warrior, and other women throughout history who have been part of the political changes in America."
Alex & Henry's bedrooms:
“We kept in mind Alex can only live in the White House for four or possibly eight years and then he has to leave, so for that period of time he's made the room his own and it's designed for the person he is now,” Marañón explained. "Whereas Henry has lived in Kensington Palace all his life, so the idea is the room was mainly designed by others, not himself." Alex's bedroom has a relaxed feel with contemporary furniture and an eclectic mix of items he treasures. "The artwork behind his bed is a painting I had made that says 'cielo y tierra,' which means 'the sky and earth,'" Marañón said. "I wanted him to have something in Spanish, representing his roots." Henry's bedroom, while designed to fit into the traditional palace, still has ties to his personality. Marañón explained: "We put up classic green wallpaper, which resonates with Henry, who loves the outdoors. That kind of dusty green is a very British color as well. It could be considered somewhat old for a young person, but Henry is a bit of an old soul in many ways."

Miren Marañon via Instagram on the 'Cielo y Tierra' painting:
I design it with our graphic department from scratch as we wanted something original that demonstrate Alex character. I don’t think I can share the file publicly but I’ll email amazon to see if they can share it.

Hello hello! It's once again the day of the week where I give you a chonk of fic that I haven't posted. Thanks for the tags today, @bigassbowlingballhead, @priincebutt, @wordsofhoneydew, @gayrootvegetable, @hgejfmw-hgejhsf, @sophie1973, @getmehighonmagic, and @zwiazdziarka!
My tag is always open, so if you haven't done the thing yet today, please consider yourself tagged.
Today's chunk of Facing Tempests is more than three paragraphs, so I'm sparing you a scroll behind the jump!
“Wheels down in 20,” Amy says when Alex puts the phone down again. As if on cue, a predictably garbled announcement from the cockpit resounds throughout the plane's cabin. When it’s finished, Amy continues. “We’re heading straight back to the White House from Dulles. You have a meeting in the yellow Oval as soon as we arrive.” Pulling his backpack from the cubby by his feet, Alex repacks the book and his assorted studying gear. “I talked to my mom yesterday afternoon,” he says. “She probably wants the details of my day as a prisoner in Kensington Palace.” Amy rolls her eyes and huffs out a laugh. “You weren’t a prisoner,” she says. “Really? Tell that to all the people who glared at me whenever I tried to leave the guest quarters.” “The portraits of dead royalty can’t hurt you,” Amy replies dryly. “But the captain might if you don’t put your seatbelt on.” “It’d make for a great ticker blurb on the 24-hour news channels.” Alex turns to Amy with a grin, gesturing at an invisible marquee before him. “FSOTUS concussed during landing at Dulles; White House declines to comment.” “Unfortunately for CNN’s ratings, it’s my literal job to prevent you from being concussed,” Amy says, “so buckle up.”

Before the first ODI match at Kensington Oval, Experts Abhinav Mukund, Aakash Chopra, and Saba Karim analysed the role of Hardik Pandya in the team India setup.
Aakash Chopra, while analysing Hardik, said that I am viewing him as someone who can give you 5 or 6 overs but not consistently give you 10 overs. Well, we will also find out in 3 ODIs whether he is actually bowling or not, and if he is bowling, then how many overs captain Rohit Sharma gave him to bowl.

Meghan Markle's wedding tiara
Tumblr media
One of the perks of being the granddaughter of the British Queen is that you can wear a sparkling wedding tiara. The Duchess of Sussex wore the Queen Mary Bandeau Tiara, which was given to Queen Mary by the County of Lincoln in 1893. Queen Mary's Diamond Bandeau Tiara
The bride's jewels are a must for a royal wedding. Meghan Markle chose to wear the Queen Mary Diamond Bandeau Tiara for her big day. The classic Art Deco tiara was a big hit with fans, who saw it as an appropriate complement to the stunning Givenchy Haute Couture by Claire Waight Keller gown.
According to a book written by royal expert Omid Schobie, Meghan did not get her first choice for tiara on her wedding day. She was reportedly rejected for an emerald-colored tiara in the Queen's collection. Meghan Markle wedding tiara
The tiara, designed by Garrard, was made in 1932 for Princess Mary of Teck, Meghan's grandmother, who married Prince George, Duke York, later King George V. The center brooch was a gift from the County Lincoln to Princess Mary, and was given to her upon her marriage. The Story of the Tiara
Meghan Markle wore the Queen Mary's Bandeau Tiara on loan to Her Majesty when she married Prince Harry in 2018. The diamond piece, which was originally owned by Queen Mary's great-grandmother, is centered by an 1893 brooch. Meghan described her tiara-choosing day as "surreal" in an audio recording made for a Windsor Castle exhibit.
The Duchess' 16 foot-long silk veil included flora from each of the 53 Commonwealth countries, as well as two personal favorites - wintersweet (Chimonanthus Praecox), a flower that grows in front Kensington Palace at Nottingham Cottage, and California poppy Eschscholzia Californica, the state flower of her home.
The final look was stunning, and showed off Meghan's elegance. What's the story behind how Meghan chose her tiara, and why did she do so? According to a royal expert and a new book, there was drama around the process. Prince Harry was reportedly forced to intervene in the dispute between Meghan and Angela Kelly, the Queen's dresser. How the Tiara came to Meghan
Meghan Markle's big day was a memorable one, but it might have been even more so if there hadn't been a disagreement about her bridal headpiece. According to Robert Lacey of the Royal Historian, Markle wanted an emerald encrusted tiara for her wedding day, but Queen Elizabeth refused.
Lacey said that the former monarch was worried that the tiara could be associated with the Russian Revolution because it had been passed through "dodgy" channels. He also thought that Meghan wouldn't look good wearing the tiara at her wedding, as it would distract her from her role as the wife of Prince Harry.
The palace denied the claims and it appears that the Queen Mary Tiara was the one that Markle wore. Princess Eugenie chose a Greville Emerald Kokoshnik tiara for her wedding six months after Meghan, and the tiara has a clear history. The Final Look
Markle chose to finish her Givenchy wedding dress and 16-foot silk veil with the dazzling Diamond Bandeau Tiara of Queen Mary. The piece, which is made up of 11 flexible sections with interlaced ovals and was worn by Princess Margaret, was borrowed by Meghan to wear on her wedding day.
According to a book, Harry claims he and Angela Kelly, the Queen's dresser had a little argument over which tiara Meghan could borrow for her wedding. Harry claims that while the Queen offered a tiara to her daughter-in law with a Lincolnshire link, Kelly refused to lend it to her before her hair trial.
The Queen finally gave in and let Meghan borrow the heritage art-deco tiara that she paired with a stunning floral veil. The Duchess opened up in an audio recording of a royal exhibit that opens on Friday at Windsor Castle about her tiara-shopping experience.

[ad_1] Sir Don Bradman’s house The city of Adelaide is famous for its churches. But the South Australian state is also known for the legendary Sir Donald Bradman. It was here Bradman spent the most time of his life. The man with a Test average of 99.94 was born on August 27, 1908, in Cootamundra, New South Wales and was raised in Bowral. Initially he stayed at 52, Shepherd Street before shifting to 20, Glebe Street, where he stayed for four years. After his passing on February 25, 2001, the South Australian government has ensured that the legend is paid a fitting tribute and people still remember him. On Friday, cricket historian Tony Rose, based in Adelaide, took this correspondent and my colleague Subhayan for a trip to Bradman’s house.  2, Holden Street, which is 3 kilometres drive from the city, stands as a testament to the legacy of cricket’s greatest-ever batsman. Even after his death, the house, once vibrant with his presence, continues to draw visitors, keeping his memory alive. Despite his passing, the number of people visiting the house has remained unchanged, as they seek a connection to the man who shaped the sport. Interestingly, the address written on the letterbox (2A) was intentionally incorrect during his life, to mislead visitors. He did not want to be troubled by fans when alive, and the misdirection continued even after his death. As we visited the place in the morning, the little kids at Pembroke school were returning home with their parents. The place in and around Holden Street presents a serene look, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The main road from the airport to the city is called Bradman Drive. A statue of him is installed in front of East Gate at the Adelaide Oval. The museum at the Oval also has several artefacts of Sir Don. But the place of pilgrimage truly must be 2, Holden Street, the place where the legend spent the most part of his life with wife Jessy. His son John and granddaughter Greta stay close his house at Holden Street. Greta still visits the house for maintaining it. Despite multiple offers, the Bradman family has decided not to make the house a heritage building. Though the house remains locked, cricket enthusiasts from all corners of the globe continue to visit Adelaide, making it a pilgrimage of sorts. For many, this journey also includes a visit to Kensington Oval, Bradman’s home ground, when he played for the Kensington Cricket Club and made his mark in local cricket. The legacy of Bradman, both as a cricketer and as a figure of inspiration, endures, and his house continues to be a symbol of that remarkable legacy. Sharing a post with a picture of his wife, Virat wrote, “None of this would remotely be possible without you, my love. You keep me humble, grounded and you always say it how it is with absolute honesty. I couldn’t be more grateful to you. This victory is as much yours as it’s mine. Thank you and I love you for being YOU @anushkasharma.”
