I'm done modifying my MYou Bettina's eyes!! I am pleasantly surprised, that the Plastic Putty worked, considering how much larger this head sculpts eyes are, compared to the much tinier Leon's eyes. There are many things that could be improved, as I am just learning and I suck, to h3ll and back. However, I am pretty happy with how he looks now. I am not satisfied with my modifications; I wasn't able to sand the material as smoothly as I would have liked. It just doesn't sand well, sadly. And because this is not meant to do sculptural modifications, it is a bit of a learning curb for me. I am however, going to keep using it for tiny mods. I might change my mind later on and splurge on a tiny amount of Aves Apoxie, only not to ever use even a tenth of the .25z, I believe the product is as a whole. But for now, I am happy I found this works rather well.
I might try with my Mano too, since it's a tiny area that I want to mod (I want to widen his upper lip, so it would just be the outer corners that I would need to add material to). Next, I will try on a few fashion dolls that I've been itching to repaint and mod and will try to smooth out the product before it cures, so that I void needing to sand it, because it's definitely a pain in the gut to actually sand it.
I love my Bettina very much, I just wanted him to have smaller eyes, as those are my personal preference. I do like giant eyes, but I prefer them on hyperstylized cutesy younger dolls. Not so much on "older" characters, and he's supposed to represent my fan-art version of Ken Kaneki, so I wanted his eyes smaller. That's why I went with Bettina, instead of my initial choice of Alan, but I guess I made the wrong choice, as Alan's eyes appear to be much smaller, considering the eyes my Bettina is wearing are his and the iris are half the size of the default Bettina ones. Live and learn, I guess. I do love all the MYou sculpts, however, so I don't mind. I did always wondered if I got sent the wrong sculpt, but none of the Myou tinies, or at least the earlier four, have giant eyes. I wonder if the molds got warped by the time I got mine, and that's why I got a head with much larger eyes? I guess I'll never know. Although, I did need to mod his eyes smaller in the end. Lol! DX
The last photo was taken before I sealed the work, the shininess is due to the acrylic mediums I use; it makes layering multiple extra thin coats of paint, shine bright like the rays of the sun! Kind of like I rubbed oil all over his face! Lol! (:

I am thinking about repainting this tiny, little dude. However, I am trying to figure out if I just want to “improve”, or at least attempt doing a better job. Or, if I want to paint him a bit differently. So, I was looking at old photos I’ve taken of him and found these. I never posted these, because they were in their majority, blurry as the dickens. I took more the day after, and those I did share on a few different places. But these I felt so disappointed with, I just left them be.
A bit less than a year later, I feel less passionate about how much they suck! Lol! So, I decided to share them! DX These were taking in July 2022, so I had the fan blasting on, while taking them. I feel that might be why some of them are terribly blurry; you can kind of see the wind movement on the sleeves on some of them. The (cell phone’s) camera kept trying to focus on everything but the doll. My fault I know, but I hate, loathe with a passion, summer weather. I am a fan of winter, fall and a don’t mind spring. I absolutely love, love snow and rain! I wish I could have rain and snow all year round! Hate that wildfires are the norm now, thanks to us not giving a rotten peanut about anything but ourselves. >__>;;
I am still thinking about how to tackle his awakened outfit and also trying to make a few more wigs for him (because three are obviously not enough!), but attempting soft loose wavy curls on a tiny wig is a royal pain in the gut hole, no matter which technique I attempt. I might have to give up on that idea, and just give him boring straight hair all the time (which I love on myself, naturally straight hair, because I am lazy and don’t have to bother mainlining it but would love at least one of my tiny dolls with an optional slightly wavy wig).
I also need to get a tiny white zipper for his outfit and figure out what I want to do with his face for sure. I know that I would be okay, if my lashes weren’t crap, but maybe I might try something different! Maybe not the 1:6 action figure painting technique, because he’s based on an anime character and doesn’t need any level of realism. However, I am a bit curious, so who knows...DX

I repainted my fan-art Ken Kaneki (MYou Bettina male) for the second time. I had enhanced the 1st face up I gave him previously. However, I decided to attempt painting him the way I learned to do 1:6 sculpts, form that one (15 episodes) tutorial I watched. I was impatient however, which I regret to no tomorrow. So, I was able to get most of the pigmented skin texture on there with mostly acrylics. Then I grew impatient, because I was taking too long (it was dumb of me, terribly so!).
I am still super happy with how he looks despite using pastels and ruining the beautiful subtleness I had going on. I did take progress photos, but they ar more awful than these. I am of course heavily disappointed in my hair strokes -- my eyebrows and eyelashes are horrid. However, I am happy with how much more mature he appears, due to the heavy dark brows, so I’ll probably be keeping them for a while (before I start obsessing and repaint him again!).
I need to get a new pointy brush, because I managed to already ruin the one I was using to paint my Sephiroth and Leon 1:6 head sculpts. Bettina has much, much larger eyes, and I was still not able to get not-so-clean, but kind of sharp lines like on Sephy. I wasn’t able to do a better job on Leon either, but he has tinier eyes and they were sculpted way off, so I kind of have to cheat with the way I shade his lower eyelid to make it look like they are a more accurate shape. Leaving me to having to pain the lashes on an area that is hard to do so (and yes, I also suck, so there’s that too!).
Still, I am super happy with my Kaneki fan-art doll so far. I wish he had broader shoulders, and overall, more lean-young-male body proportions, like Kaneki has in the anime. Instead of noodle arms and child-bearing-hips. Besides the proportions, I am in-love with this tiny face! He’s so pretty and has great lips, as he as intended to be female, but can be a very versatile sculpt! (: Now I just need to start making some actual Kaneki inspired clothes and maybe a more accurate wig, as painful as that will be. I was thinking of this wig as his default one, but it makes him look cone-headed. Lol! DX

I ended up not repainting my Myou Bettina male, but instead I “enhanced” his face a bit.  After staring at him in Photoshop for what seemed like years and doing a bunch of mock-ups. I decided that I wanted to try making him look more mature, by just shading him a bit heavy-handed and just add to the gloom. I love that he looks constantly pissed, petulant, somber all the time, but now it’s at another level, and I am really loving it!  I probably make all my dolls look that way, due to my eternal love of angry brows. However, they all work in the end, because of the characters I choose to recreate in doll form.
I am still hoping to improve on my hair strokes one day, but this time I just wanted to add to his face. Instead of repainting him completely. I kind of tried adding two pairs of eyelashes to his tiny eye openings, so I need to fix those. I do enjoy the thick, full-lash-line. That’s what I always hope for with my dolls with applied top lashes. However, these don’t look that nice and one of them looks further messier than the other. Maybe I wouldn’t mind it, if both were about equally messy/clean, but I do mind this level of asymmetry. I had to trim some of the lash hairs, and now I am dreading finding if I ruined his “default” pair, because those were really nice lashes. I hope I didn’t damage those int he processes.
I am happy with the way he looks overall; I can always try repainting him again fully, from zero next time! He is a beautiful doll, I only wish I was more talented (or had steadier hands!), to at least give the sculpt a tiny bit more justice. These turned out granier than ever, I am not sure what went wrong. My cell phone was at full charge, and I had the light blasting right on his face (if I put the light anywhere further, the photos become darkness themselves).  I suck! DX

I made some black vinyl pants for my mature tiny Myou Bettina on a male body, BJD. I used a pattern meant for Taeyang, because I hate making pants patterns myself. It is a bit too loose at the legs, but fits really well around the waist. I prefer slightly tighter vinyl pants, so I will try again later. He is wearing a top I made for either my MH Invisibilly repaint, or my Triad Toys, Volks hybrid action male doll. I don’t recall now. I know I have lost the pattern, so I can’t even attempt making more.. and I am actually pretty happy with how that shirt turned out. T__T;;
It fits really well on him, so I feel I might try making more shirts in this style for him. I was thinking, or hoping, probably. That it would be easier to make clothes for him because he is tiny, but I kind of forgot I suck at sewing, and considerably worse at creating patterns. Lol! I guess it’s a good thing, he’s so tiny (less waste of fabric). DX
I love how the tinier irises on Alan’s eyes make him look a bit more mature. I just wish he had a face plate instead of a head with a head cap. It makes it hard to position his eyes just right -- it doesn’t help that I have terribly shaky hands, and that his S hook gets in the way. ^-^;; I dread fixing his eyelashes for that same reason. There’s barely any space there, to do much, and I have terrible shaky hands! Even if I remove the head from the body, there’s just so much space in there...

Crappy photos of my progress on my fan-art doll based on Tokyo Ghoul Ken Kaneki. I suck, so these are terrible. I thought about making the mask out of black PVC fabric, since I own heaps of it. It was rough, I failed many times. This is the fourth or fifth attempt at it. I used four-way stretch lycra fabric. I am not sure I am happy with it so far. There’s a lot of texture due to the nature of the fabric. Ken’s mask appears to be rubber or mold formed rubbery plastic of some sort. I don’t recall them explaining what it is, in the anime -- I don’t read maga, so have not a clue if it is stated what the mask is made out of. However, it looks seamless and hyper-shiny and smooth in the anime, apart from the obvious shaped nose and smile lines around the mouth, which appears to also be formed or sculpted to be 3D.
I was super confident that the black vinyl would work, I was already planning on getting a 1mm teeth-sized zipper off Ali. I have no clue why I thought that would be doable at the size or proportions of this doll’s face. DX
The teeth are individual pieces of cut foam, and the “zipper’ is a piece of black vinyl fabric painted metallic silver, then stretched for added texture. I might try again, if I fail to get rid of the fabric’s texture, once I am done sewing a snap on the back and painting and hyper-glossing this thing to h3ll and back. I hope it works. I might have to sculpt the thing, out of clay, and I don’t see that working too well either. I know the front part would look nicer than this, but how would I make it soft on the back without any seams? The sh1t I put myself through, for being stubborn about fan-art dolls, I shouldn’t be attempting to make. Lol! (;
