I was talking to my buddy about an old post of mine where I said I want more Dragon Ball movie villains to come back and get either movies or small arcs dedicated to them and building up the non-Goku/Vegeta cast, and we came up with a few new ideas
Dr. Wheelo works as a recurring antagonist, as he can be a good excuse for multiple older concepts to be revisited. To start off, he enhances Tao Pai Pai to be a viable threat, giving Tien a good opponent with some personal significance. Yamcha may also be there to fight Wheelo himself, but it does seem like they're pushing Yamcha to just be a normal guy, so maybe not. Could also be a fun way to revisit Launch if we have a Tien-focused story
Androids 13, 12 and 11 are then brought back by Wheelo to fight 17, 18 and Gamma. When 13 goes Super Android by absorbing his teammates, Hedo finds a way for the good Androids to power up without absorbing each other. Wheelo has also upgraded himself since fighting Yamcha, giving Krillin an opponent for the arc
Bio-Broly is Wheelo's last creation, which would give Broly a reasonably strong enemy to fight without shoehorning him into any of the other villains' stories. It could also serve as a fun way to have DBS Broly fight an approximation of DBZ Broly, as he could reuse the old design with some tweaks
Tapion's return and training with Trunks causes a rift between him and Goten, which ultimately results in Trunks being too powerful for the two of them to perform Fusion anymore. After Trunks and Tapion defeat Hirudegarn with minimal help from Goten, Goten goes off on his own for a while to become a stronger fighter in his own right
Bojack then becomes an antagonist for Goten specifically, allowing for a more accurate recreation of Teen Gohan vs. Bojack now that Gohan has aged out of the part. Goten's new power differentiates him from Trunks significantly, and makes their fusion in the next arc they appear in more notable as it will combine their new disparate traits instead of just doubling up on Saiyan traits
Garlic Jr., similarly, becomes an antagonist for Pan to parallel how he was defeated by kid Gohan without the need to rescale him too much. However, if we don't want Pan to have a major win this early, we could have Pan fight his first form and then use his power-up to explore Gohan's Beast form and possibly get some insight into Orange Piccolo, since Garlic is inherently related to Piccolo's backstory
Lord Slug, then, further expands on whatever hints we get about Piccolo by having an Orange form of his own, perhaps a mastered or elevated version of it with more unique traits. Given that Piccolo is a merging of Warrior- and Dragon-clan Namekians, perhaps it could have two modes and we've only seen the Warrior-mode. Potentially more interesting, Piccolo could need to overcome Slug's Orange form by finding King Piccolo's soul in Hell and taking on his Demon-clan abilities, truly making him a mix of all forms of Namekian. This would also be a good time to give the Orange form a real name
Turles is still introduced as a Universe 6 Saiyan, interrupting Vegeta training Cabba (+Caulifla and Kale), but now that Ultra Ego has been introduced, Vegeta clearly outmatches Turles, so he uses it as an opportunity for Cabba and co. to grow. Cabba takes out form 1 and Kefla handles form 2, but form 3 is too much for them, so Vegeta steps in with Ultra Ego, giving him some much-needed shine
Cooler still fights Frieza and shows us how the Fifth Form can potentially be differentiated from the Golden and Black forms, but mostly just serves as a way to elaborate on what Black can do before having Frieza fight Goku and Vegeta again
Janemba fights Buu, as I said before, but this time instead of serving as a jumping-off point for Uub, he actually serves as a way for Buu and Mr. Satan to work off each other; Janemba is a very tricky opponent, and Buu isn't particularly intelligent, but Mr. Satan is surprisingly smart and a competent martial artist (for a non-ki using human), so Mr. Satan could be helping Buu to read Janemba's fighting style and give him an edge, proving that Mr. Satan isn't the burden to the rest of the cast that he thinks he is
Baby would serve as a culmination of all of the Saiyan's arcs specifically, with all of the special forms and abilities found by Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Goten, Trunks, Pan and Broly being put on full display against their natural enemy
The Shadow Dragons would serve a similar function, but for the cast as a whole.
Syn/Omega would probably be similar to his original incarnation, with Goku and Vegeta working together and ultimately being defeated by Goku using a Universal Spirit Bomb, but all of the other Dragons would be fought by the rest of the cast.
Haze, as the weakest, would probably be reserved for the human cast - Krillin, Tien, Yamcha, etc. His energy-draining abilities would definitely be a challenge for them, and would require that they be more inventive in how they beat him than other characters likely would be
Eis was created by a wish involving Buu, so I'd enjoy seeing Buu and Uub team up against him, possibly leading to the creation of Majuub
Nuova, along the same lines, was created by King Piccolo's wish, so putting him against Piccolo and Gohan would work really well
Rage, being electrical in nature, could be a fun enemy for the Androids
Oceanus doesn't really have an obvious thematic enemy, but since the fight against her originally was the only one to actually introduce new characters (Colm and his village), using them as a connection to Pan would be a good way to give her more involvement in the arc
Naturon, as one of the eviler Dragons, would be a good enemy for Goten and Trunks to fight since they fancy themselves heroes. His possession ability could also be used to force them to fight each other
Other characters, like villains introduced in Dragon Ball Heroes, could also be canonized and used as a way to show off the newly gained powers, but the ultimate villain would almost definitely be Frieza since he keeps getting stronger and stronger and we've already seen him forced to team up with Goku. I'm sure new characters will continue to be introduced too, like Moro and the Heeters, and none of this even considered how Granolah might contribute to the plot going forward, but my main goal here was to focus on classic characters. I do like Granolah, though, so I hope they find reasons to bring him back somewhere in there too. Maybe he'll be involved in the Baby arc since the Tuffles and Cerealians are both victims of the Saiyans, so there may be good reason to reintroduce him in that arc
I'm willing to bet that basically none of this will happen, and that Toriyama will want to focus more on the new and will continue not to worry about the extended cast, but in my world, Dragon Ball utilizes its existing cast as much as humanly possible
If I'm only right about one of these, I honestly hope it's Cooler

Dragon Ball Super 116

GOKU VS. KEFLA: THE FINAL ROUND
youtube
This is it!  The climactic conclusion of the best fight in Dragon Ball Super!  There must be a winner!
Tumblr media
Against all odds, Goku has somehow tapped into Autonomous Ultra Instinct for a second time!  Whis never dreamed he would figure it out ever again, much less a few minutes after the first time!  So Kefla’s doomed, right?   Well don’t write her off yet.  Kefla’s still got a lot left in the tank.  For example, she decides to see Goku’s Ultra Instinct and raise him Super Saiyan 2!  Well, that might not sound like a big deal, but when a Fused Saiyan does it, it means a lot.
Tumblr media
And there’s the abs.  When I got to these episodes, I was kind of shocked by how skinny Kefla was in her base form, and then she went Super Saiyan and bulked up, but not as much as I remembered.  Now at SSJ2, she’s starting to look more like I remembered.  The key to this is that she’s combining Caulifla’s SSJ and SSJ2 forms with Kale’s Legendary Super Saiyan form, which gets more muscular the stronger she becomes.  So I guess they had to start with a pretty skinny Kefla, because they couldn’t have her beef up as big as Kale, or that would defeat the idea of it being a fusion with a smaller character.
Tumblr media
Oh this is a really cool shot of the arena.
Tumblr media
So it’s pretty much like we saw the last time Goku used this power.  Jiren couldn’t touch him, and neither can Kefla now.  And it’s not for lack of trying.  As strong as Kefla is, I think there’s a solid argument that she could give Jiren a run for his money.
Tumblr media
Okay, I think her hair tie is gone now, the same way Kale always loses hers when she transforms.  Kefla’s hair has always confused me so just knowing that there’s been a hair tie involved is a relief.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Vegeta watches Goku playing the artful dodger and he finally gets a clue: this was the ideal style that Whis told them about in Resurrection F.  Vegeta’s all mad that Goku went and surpassed him again.  Sure, Vegeta, he did it just to spite you, because that’s what everything is about, after all.
Tumblr media
Here’s a cool spot where Kefla flies after Goku who falls off the side of a cliff, and then he digs his heels into the rock and leans back so Kefla can’t hit him.  Wild.
Tumblr media
Or, rather, he does this so he can hit her.  But that’s the trick, you see....
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As powerful as Goku has become in this state, he’s mostly only able to use it for defense.  Kefla can’t even touch Goku, but on the other hand, Goku’s attacks aren’t nearly as strong as Kefla was expecting.  He makes a little headway with it, but he’s still not hitting her hard enough to defeat her.  And maybe he could take his time with this and wear her down, but he doesn’t have that long.  The UI power could wear off any second now.
Tumblr media
As Whis explains to the others, even those who can use Ultra Instinct have trouble using it offensively.  Goku’s problem is that he’s still having to use his brain to tell his body how to attack, and that interferes with his body acting autonomously for defense.  That’s why his attacks are so weak.  And if he doesn’t figure out a solution soon, he’ll run out of juice and Kefla will win.
Tumblr media
So Goku calls his shot: He’s going to end this fight with one more attack.
Tumblr media
Kefla doesn’t take kindly to this, and ramps up her power even further.  Now she’s shooting concentrated ki blasts in every direction, and they rip up everything they touch.
Tumblr media
She just starts slinging all this red shit everywhere, and Goku hops and flips through it as he moves in closer to her...
Tumblr media
And the whole time, he’s chargin’ up...
Tumblr media
Kefla’s just screaming and cackling like a maniac.  I really have to hand it to the dub VA’s for this, Elizabeth Maxwell (Caulifla) and Dawn Bennet (Kale).  DBS was the first time I ever watched a Dragon Ball series in Japanese first, and I was curious how the dub would handle the new characters, and I’m really pleased with Kefla’s manic energy.  They nailed it.
Tumblr media
She keeps firing red lasers, but Goku’s getting closer and closer...  Finally he jumps toward her, ready to fire...
Tumblr media
Ah, but that plays right into her hands!  Remember, no flying in the Tournament of Power, so now that Goku’s jumping at her, he can’t steer or dodge!  So now she can concentrate all that power she was slinging around every direction, and aim it right at him!
Tumblr media
THE POWER OF...!
Tumblr media
CHRISTMAAAAAASSSSS!
Tumblr media
But then Goku just does this sweet midair flip and skates along the front of her blast, using his ki ball like a weird little skateboard!
Tumblr media
HOW THE FUCK IS HE DOING THIS?!
Tumblr media
KALE LOOKS UP AND SHE’S LIKE “AWWWWW SHIT!”
Tumblr media
HAPPY...!
Tumblr media
HANUKKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Tumblr media
Kefla gets blasted through the stage!  Then her Potara shatter, and coincidentally...
Tumblr media
... the Fusion dissolves, and so it’s Caulifla and Kale who tumble to the bench!
Tumblr media
They’re OUT.
Tumblr media
Kale apologizes for losing, while Caulifla cries out for revenge.  Yes!  Fight Goku again!  Give us Kefla/Goku II!  Make it happen!
Tumblr media
So now Team Universe 6 is down to just two fighters: Saonel and Pilina. They vow to win, but come on.  What chance could they have?
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, that last round with Kefla finally got Jiren’s attention.  At least he’s not meditating like he planned to do for the second half.
Tumblr media
As for Goku, he’s tapped out all over again.  I guess it’s a net positive, since at least this time around he won a fight with Ultra Instinct instead of eating a super punch from Jiren.  But still, if he plans to defeat Jiren, he’ll have to do Ultra Instinct a third time, and can he even handle that?  Well, those are matters for later episodes.  As for this one, what else can I say but:
Tumblr media
This was a brilliant finish to a classic fight.  A lot of dumbasses out there were only happy to see Caulifla and Kale eliminated from the competition because they hated those two.  But discerning Caulifla and Kale likers, such as myself, know the truth, that Episodes 113-116 were a bona fide barn-burner, and the best of what Dragon Ball Super had to offer.  Show me a fight in GT that came anywhere close to this.  No, don’t bother, because I already watched GT recently, and I have 65 haikus that say there isn’t one.
I’ll admit, there have been times where I thought this liveblog was a mistake, because most of the stuff I’ve been covering has been pretty weak.  A lot of it is downright terrible.  But I knew the Tournament of Power would cheer me up, and that these four episodes in particular would really cheer me up, and I was right.  It’s like all the frustration and regret from before has metled away.  There’s 15 episodes of Super left to go, and I’m refreshed and ready to tackle ‘em!
Well, later, I think.

Gohan's Power Level Since the Cell Games
I will put my assumptions about his power level here; starting with putting his Max Kamehameha against Cell as a Super Saiyan 2 at 50 times stronger than 100% Final Form Frieza from Namek; hence 6,000,000,000.
Gohan (17 years old): 25,000,000
Super Saiyan: 1,250,000,000
Super Saiyan 2 (vs. Kibito): 2,500,000,000
Vs. Dabura: 3,600,000,000
Vs. Majin Buu (breaking his current limits): 4,600,000,000
Gohan (Z-Sword training): 360,000,000
Ultimate/Mystic Gohan: 24,000,000,000 (peak till the Tournament of Power)
Gohan (4 years after his peak - Vs. Beerus): 18,000,000,000
Gohan (5+ years later - Resurrection 'F'): 60,000,000 (very rusty!)
Super Saiyan (can barely keep the form): 3,000,000,000
Calling for Goku (DBS anime-only): 7,000,000,000
Gohan training against Piccolo some months later: 1,800,000,000
Gohan meeting with Future Trunks (about 6 years after his Ultimate Prime vs. Super Buu): 80,000,000
Gohan after he trained with Piccolo to help Future Trunks out: 8,000,000,000
Gohan after about 7 years since his fight with Super Buu (Zen Exhibition Match): 150,000,000
Super Saiyan: 7,500,000,000
Poisoned: 3,250,000,000
All-Out on Lavender: 6,500,000,000
Training with Piccolo soon after, resuming his thus-far peak from Z: 15,000,000,000 as a SSJ 2 going up to 24,000,000,000
From here on, I'm following the Manga, not the anime, as things there went haywire...
Against the Trio De Danger: 12,500,000,000
Vs. Universe 10's last fighters: 14,000,000,000
Vs. the lesser Pride Troopers: 17,000,000,000
Vs. Kefla (SSJ): 60,000,000,000
Gohan during 7-3's attack on Piccolo (8 years after his Super Buu fight): 40,000,000,000
Energy drained: 1,000,000,000
Gohan, 2 months later, ready for Moro: 100,000,000,000
Vs. the empowered Saganbo: 120,000,000,000
Full Power against Moro: 150,000,000,000
Gohan in "Super Hero" (9 years after his battle with Super Buu): 200,000,000
Enraged about Pan's abduction: 1,000,000,000
Super Saiyan: 50,000,000,000
Super Saiyan 2: 100,000,000,000
Ultimate Gohan: 1,000,000,000,000
Beast Gohan: 1,000,000,000,000,000
Makankosappo: 1,150,000,000,000,000

Episode 115 is so lit!!!!!
again, this is for me. future reference.
topics: Goku vs Kefla, predictions
IT'S LIT
IT IS SO DAMN LIT
Tumblr media
First off, I'm glad they addressed the whole potara earrings thing. Thank you zen-oh chan. Second, I love how the Gods were all split on what to do, and one of the Gods actually tried to do it as well, but her fighters were incompetent as hell. Also... Fused 17 and 18????? Uh.... YES.
Let me talk about the Androids real quick. They have to have something big about to happen, right? Before I predicted that 17 might lend Goku energy, but that won't happen anymore cause anime logic. I think 17 really is gonna do something major, and I also love the sibling interactions between 18 and 17. She's like, "fuck off me 17" and he's like "im not even on you tho." IT'S LIT
Alright, now. Kefla is so damn cool. One thing I don't like with fusions is that for the most part there's a dominant personality, but with this case I'm so glad that Caulifla took the dominant personality. Kefla is so fun. Please add her to Xenoverse 2 and 3. Please have her on Dragon Ball FighterZ. Please, please, please. She's stronger than a weakened Kaioken Blue Goku which is pretty impressive. Admittedly, I didn't think she could be that strong. But Goku is weakened, and the episode made it a POINT that Goku is very weak at the moment. Still impressive. She hit him and knocked his ass out.
And then Goku got up, and said not yet. AND I STARTED GOING NUTS. I started repeating to myself "hes going instinct hes going instinct hes going instinct" AND HE WENT ULTRA INSTINT AND IT. WAS. LIT!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
I see NO way that Kefla is going to even HANG with Goku. He is going to DESTROY HER. Mind you I was on Kefla's side at the beginning of this episode. Right when Kefla went Super Saiyan I got up and was lit, and yelling "BEAT HIS ASS." Now, I'm all rooting for Goku to whoop Kefla's ass. I fucking love this arc so much. Future me: watch this episode over and over again when this series is over.
This series has provided us with so many great fights. Goku is gonna whoop on Kefla. It's lit.
predictions:
Man, I don't even know. I think Piccolo is gonna get eliminated soon probably. He looks a bit outclassed by the other Namekians. Maybe I was wrong when I called them weak when they first showed up. I know that before they showed up I predicted they were gonna eliminate Piccolo and Gohan was gonna avenge him, so maybe that does end up happening.
Again, no idea what is gonna happen with the Androids. I FEEL like something big is going to happen, but no idea. Fusion? Are they going to fuse? Is it going to be.... lit?
Frieza out here creeping. Still think Frieza is gonna torture someone. I hope he tortures Dispo. Also, what happened to Rebrianne and her squad? They're all chilling. I think Frieza will also knock them out since dude hates all that love stuff. Frieza! Quit creepin!
Vegeta vs Toppo is making reconsider the idea of Vegeta hiding some secret powers. Dude is having problems with Toppo, and he should be winning their fight if he did know how to do something. Dude is out here struggling. Vegeta is a struggle-saiyan smh.
I don't think Goku keeps Instinct this time again. After his fight with Kefla he may need to get some stamina back. I also love how Beerus was all mad, and then got brave like "OH OK THEN. WHAT'S GOOD THEN, GOKU?" You know that Beerus wants to fight Goku in that form. YOU KNOW HE DOES. BEERUS VS GOKU THE REMATCH HAPPENING AFTER THIS ARC. IT IS LIT
I think this is it for Kefla. It's over. I'd be surprised if she goes another level such as SSJ3, legendary, ect. She's out of the tournament.  And with that it leaves Gohan having to eliminate universe 6. I really thought Universe 6 might have had a chance to win this, but I don't see it happening anymore. It's over. I also don't think Jiren will get out of his meditation yet. He won't awaken on his own. He's gonna be forced out of his mediation, or someone is gonna run up on ol' boy. He feels the ki, but he aint phased.
I think I’m just gonna start recording my live reactions.

“You maybe could take out Goku, but you haven’t exactly been getting any training in since then.” Motioning towards her flabby figure.
Kefla frowns
"Hey now, just because I've gotten fatter doesn't mean I'm weaker!" she says
"I'm stronger than Son Goku and the only reason he won was because I couldn't land a hit on him!"
She was clearly still worked up over losing that fight

Dragon Ball Super Manga Ch. 59-63
Tumblr media
Kind of wish this were ending for real, you know what I mean?
Tumblr media
So after a lot of false starts and pointless runarounds, it finally comes down to Goku vs. Moro on Earth.  Goku’s been training with Merus to master his Ultra Instinct power, but the best he can manage is the “Ultra Instinct Sign” thing that he used to defeat Kefla in the anime.  Merus proposed a strategy where Goku relied on this incomplete UI, so Goku’s trying to fight carefully so as not to wear out his stamina, so he can use this ability as long as possible.
And that seems to be all he needs at first.  Moro can’t touch Goku, and he can’t even drain his energy, because Goku is moving so fast that he’s dodging the energy drain effect.  But there’s just one problem: Moro hasn’t been using his full power.  He’s consumed a lot of planets since Goku saw him last, and he had no reason to show off his increased strength until now.
Tumblr media
So Goku abandons Merus’ strategy and gambles everything on a more direct approach.  Instead of conserving his power, Goku uses his full strength, thinking he can still out-power Moro.  He just needs to finish him off quickly before his Ultra Instinct runs out.
Tumblr media
While all of this has been going on, Vegeta is still on Yardrat, because he only just finished mastering the technique he came here to learn.  He doesn’t like cutting it this close, but since he can still sense Moro on Earth, he figures it’s not too late.  Once he’s finally ready, he asks Elder Pybara to teleport him to Earth, but Pybara says he can’t as Yardratti are forbidden from interplanetary teleportation. The fuck?  Also, Pybara says that they can only use it to go to someone they’ve met before.  The fuck?
So now Vegeta has to learn Instant Transmission on top of whatever he learned to use against Moro.  And this is bullshit, because even though I can buy Vegeta mastering all these Yardrat tricks in record time, it doesn’t add anything to the story.  Why not just have Pybara teleport him to Earth?
Tumblr media
Eventually, Pybara decided to break the rule and just teleport Vegeta after all, but then he thinks he’s finally figured it out.  Also, Goku got beaten up to the point where his UI form has worn off, so Vegeta can sense his energy again to lock on to his position.
Tumblr media
Wait, so how is Goku not dead during all of this?  Well, 17 and 18 pitch in, and since Moro can’t absorb their energy, they can hold him off for a little while.  I mean, it kind of makes sense in a post-Tournament-of-Power scenario that Piccolo, Gohan, Krillin, Tien, Roshi, and 17 and 18 could hang with an opponent like Moro.  They don’t have to beat him, but they ought to be able to keep him good and frustrated, just like Jiren.  But this arc doesn’t really play into that idea, at least not to my satisfaction.
Tumblr media
All right, so Vegeta finally arrives, and he basically declares that he never intends to use Instant Transmission again.  What the fuck? The last few adventures he’s been on have involved teleporting across outer space or whatever, and he hates holding Goku’s hand in order to do it.  You’d think he’d be thrilled to be able to teleport under his own power.  Even if he hates teleportation on principle, he’s an idiot if he thinks he’ll never need to try this again, so why wouldn’t he perfect his technique so he can do it properly?
It’s like this whole thing was contrived to get Vegeta back to Earth as quickly as possible, and also show that he can do Instant Transmission, but at the same time, Toyotaro wanted to walk that back, because not doing Instrant Transmission is kind of a Vegeta trademark.  Personally, I don’t give a shit if Vegeta can do Instant Transmission or not, but if you’re going to write a manga story where he learns how, then you need to commit to that decision.   Toyotaro is trying to have it both ways, and I really don’t understand that, since the whole point of this Yardrat subplot was so Vegeta could learn a different cool technique anyway.  He doesn’t need Instant Transmission, so it would have been simpler to just have Pybara teleport him to Earth.  Fuck this story.
Tumblr media
Now, I’ve been pretty hard on the Moro arc, but I will offer some positives about this thing.  The art has been on-point all along.  Moro’s got a cool design, and the action scenes are impactful.  Toyotaro has the skills that pay the bills, whether the haters want to admit it or not.  Also, I’ve noticed Vegeta is a lot sassier in this arc than in previous ones.  I approve of this.
Tumblr media
As to the fight itself, Vegeta starts off in Super Saiyan Blue, which ought to be no match for Moro at this level, and Moro seems to have the upper hand at first.  But every time Moro touches Vegeta, he loses some of the power he’s stolen from all those dead aliens.  That’s because Vegeta has learned the Spirit Fission technique, which is a Yardratti move that dissolves absorbed or fused ki.  For example, Vegeta claims that he can undo the fusion of Piccolo with Nail and Kami, which is an intriguing thought.  I guess if Super Buu ate Gotenks right now, Vegeta could one-shot him and separate him back into Kid Buu, the Kais, and Goten and Trunks.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, all the dead Namekians come back to life?  What?  Bulma asks how that’s possible, since Moro absorbed their life force months ago.  Esca thinks it’s because the Dragon Balls on New Namek somehow preserved their bodies? Okay, come on.  Seriously?  Why is this page even in the story?  Why do the Namekians need to be revived in this moment anyway?  They were just going to use the Dragon Balls to revive everyone anyway.
I mean, that’s a ridiculous explanation, because the Namekian Dragon Balls were deactivated when Moori was killed, and even if they were somehow still functional, they’ve never been established to have that sort of ability.  But more importantly, why is Toyotaro tossing out a bullshit explanation for this in the first place?  The revived Namekians don’t actually do anything at this juncture, so why bother with this at all?
Tumblr media
So Vegeta clobbers Moro until he weakens to the level he was at when he first broke out of prison, I guess.  Then Vegeta asks Jaco if he should kill him.  What?  What?
Tumblr media
So Moro manages to slip away and escape to his spaceship, where he finds Seven Three and swallows him whole, absorbing his body and becoming...
Tumblr media
... this guy!  Okay, so this is a major downgrade in design, but at least now I understand the context of it.  The idea is to combine Moro’s body with Seven Three’s, but the result ends up being shittier than the individual designs.  Plotwise, it makes sense, because it seemed weird that Moro would allow Seven Three to keep a copy of Moro’s powers.  But it turns out Moro wanted it this way because if he lost his powers for some reason, he could just eat Seven Three and get them all back.  Also, Moro now has the ability to copy other people’s powers, so that’s a thing.
Vegeta isn’t too worried, since he can just Spirit Fission Moro all over again, except he’s lost the element of surprise.  Moro can just avoid his blows and not lose any of his strength.
Tumblr media
Goku, Piccolo, and Gohan managed to do a cool trick to hold Moro in place long enough for a Kamehameha, but it doesn’t work and Moro punches a hole in Goku.  I really hate when they do this spot with characters who can’t regenerate or survive these kinds of wounds.  If you did this to Cell, then fine, because Cell could grow back, and if Goku was about to die after this scene, then you could do it to him.  But instead he’s just going to get healed up again and be just fine.  It’s dumb.
Tumblr media
So then Merus jumps back in, even though we’ve established that he’s forbidden from interfering in mortal affairs.  Whis warned him against fighting Moro as he planned, and yet, Whis has curiously taken his eyes off the guy while all of this is going on.
Tumblr media
Moro doesn’t know Merus is an angel, and Goku seems to be the only one who understands what’s going on.  He pleads with Merus to stand down, since he’ll cease to exist if he keeps fighting with his angelic powers.  And that’s Merus’ whole plan.  Goku needs to use the complete Ultra Instinct to win this thing, and Merus thinks he can get Goku to reach that level by sacrificing himself in the battle with Moro.  So either Goku can rise to the occasion, or he’ll be forced to watch Merus disappear.
Tumblr media
And I mean literally, because Merus starts to fade out as he fights more seriously.  I thought the Grand Minister was going to execute him or something, but apparently this whole thing is automatic.
Tumblr media
So then Merus uses the last of his, uh... existence... to destroy the crystals in Moro’s body that came from Seven Three’s copy ability.  They were in Seven Three’s head before, but now there’s one on Moro’s forehead, and one in each palm.  Anyway, Moro tried to copy Merus’ powers, but Merus cut off that hand before it could take effect.  He smashes the other two crystals  and then disappears once and for all.
And we’ll call it there.  Next time we’ll go through the “epic” finale of the Moro Saga.
