Aiko Naomi decided to drag Yamada Matsuzaki and Kazuo Nakashima to an amusement park today. She said she didn't have a particular reason in mind, she just wanted to go there. Kazuo didn't understand why she had the need to drag him and Yamada into this, though, but he'll just accept his fate.

"I wanna go on the merry-go-round!!" She exclaimed in excitement, pointing towards...that's right—a literal merry-go-round. Seeing her enthusiasm, Yamada chuckled. "You're acting like a kid, y'know~?" He teased, and to that, Aiko pouted. "Shut up."

"No offense, but you have the stature of a kid too, so anyone could mistake you to be Yamada's kid or my kid, haha." Kazuo added, before smirking once seeing Aiko's fuming face. "Oh, you little...!" "Alright, alright! No need to fight!!! Let's just go on the merry-go-round like what Aiko wanted, alright?" Yamada cuts in, making sure this silly banter doesn't turn into an actually serious argument.

"Oh- yeah, yeah. Alright. Let's go now. Catch up to me, you slow pokes!" Aiko then said, before dashing off from the other two. Kazuo sighed at that, before turning to face Yamada. "Let's go now, shall we?" He said, offering a hand for the novelist to take. Yamada stared at it for a moment, before smiling, moving his hand to grab onto Kazuo's—

"You really want to trust me like that?"

In a blink—

"You really think I can come back to you, saying "Let's hang out again like how we used to!" as if you didn't do anything?"

The image of her appeared.

Her disappointed frown was very evident as she stared back at Yamada.

"I'm..."

Yamada's heart beats faster—but not in a good way.

"I'm truly disappointed in you, Matsuzaki."

"Haa..."

"Yamada?"

"WAH-!"

Yamada could feel a hand grab onto his, and in an instant, he's brought back to reality. The person standing before him now wasn't her, but rather, Kazuo Nakashima himself. He wore a concerned frown as he asked, "Are you alright?"

Once that question was spoken out, Yamada finally realized the cold sweat rolling down his face. He definitely looked like he had seen a ghost by this point. "A-ah...I'm..." He trailed off, before sighing, forcing a smile. "I'm fine. Just...had a bit of a moment there." He then said.

He didn't want Kazuo to worry, after all.

The photographer's frown remained on his face for a few more seconds, before finally, it turned into a relieved smile. "Well...if you say so. Let's go now." Yamada squeezes the hand holding onto his tightly, his forced smile slowly turning into a more genuine one as his anxiety slowly goes away. "Yeah..."

"Let's go now."

"I don't have anything to worry about anymore, surely."

10 years of Danganronpa, and about two years in the Danganronpa fandom

It’s been about two years or so since I’ve been officially introduced to Danganronpa, having been exposed to it by watching Danganronpa: The Animation. After that, I moved onto Danganronpa 3, and soon watched the playthroughs of each game, especially Ultra Despair Girls, and I even read the novels featured in each game (Danganronpa IF and Ultra Despair Hagakure). Although, I never even played any of the games before, but I like to get the chance soon, as soon as I push myself into buying them.

I especially liked the characters, even the underappreciated ones like Hagakure. I keep imagining alternate scenarios for each story, like in Danganronpa IF, when all of the students survive, and I imagine what happens after that, like if they join Future Foundation and soon confront against the Remnants of Despair. I also imagine another different scenario where the Tragedy never happened, and that all of the Hope’s Peak students had graduated and are now living out their lives. It may sound like a happier scenario, but there’s bound to be conflict soon. I’m gonna have to write an AU about it soon. Now, despite how much I liked Danganronpa 3, I do admit that’s incredibly flawed, which is why I’m working on a fan concept for a few video games based on the anime, which I’ll post soon. Essentially, I want to flesh out the story more, explore unused concepts, and put the characters in a different scenario, like putting Kirigiri and the board of directors in a final mutual killing game.

And speaking of which, I’m working on another fan concept for a sequel to Danganronpa V3. Now, in order to ensure that the latest game serves as the final game, I decided to present the concept as an open-world action-adventure game, taking place a large city and focusing on a group of young adults who are now stuck in a dangerous survival game. It’s titled Danganronpa Survival, and focuses on solving mysteries by exploring a desolated area and finding some clues, while also trying to avoid or fight back against roaming enemies. I’ll explain more on a later post.

I kind of wonder what would happen if DISTRUST was made. In case you didn’t know, DISTRUST is a visual novel concept serving as the prototype for Danganronpa. Basically, the game was gonna be more gruesome than the final game, with the blood being red and the executions being more graphic, like Kazuo Matsuzaki’s execution. It also included a trust system that determines the player’s trust on other characters, and effects the ending of the game. Although Trigger Happy Havoc did have two endings depending on the fifth trial, we would have seen multiple endings if the trust system had remained during production. I kind of wonder what would the murders and executions be like if they stayed as graphic as the one in the prototype, but at least with pink blood. In fact, not only the deaths, but the atmosphere too. From what I’ve seen, the game’s setting was also going to be dreary, grimy, and morbid compared to the final game’s main setting, the brighter, cleaner, and friendlier main building of Hope’s Peak Academy. I wonder if Spike Chunsoft or Too Kyo Games would make a game based on the unused prototype of Danganronpa, probably an uncut remake or a completely new game. In fact, if the game had remained the same, with its dark aesthetics and graphic deaths, could it have been as popular as the final game was? Could the Danganronpa fandom have already grown if DISTRUST was released? I’m not sure.

Anyway, that’s all I have to say for the 10th anniversary. I wanted to draw a picture to commemorate the anniversary, like a portrait of the original trio, Naegi, Kirigiri, and Togami, but as usual, I’m too unmotivated to draw, so I’m gonna have to work on that.

17 New Cast Members Join "Tsuki ga Kirei" Anime

Assassination Classroom director Seiji Kishi's upcoming Tsuki ga Kirei (As the Moon, So Beautiful) has just dropped more than a dozen new voice actor announcements. Filling out the ranks are seventeen actors from all eras of anime. Here they are:

  Roman Yamashina (left): A third-year and long-time friend of Kotaro's, whose looks make him very popular with the girls in school. Voiced by Eishin Fudemura (Seren, Show by Rock!)

Daichi Ogasawara (right): A third-year and long-time friend of both Kotaro and Roman. He has little in common with his friends by way of hobbies, and is so cool and laid-back that occasionally his words come out as more hurtful than intended. Voiced by Makoto Kaneko.

  Aoi Takizawa (second from left): A third year, Akane and Chinatsu's friend, an athletic student and the "straight man" of the friend group. Voiced by Haruka Shiraishi (Sora Matsuzaki, From up on Poppy Hill).

Ryuunosuke Azumi (center): Kotaro's father. Born and raised in Kawagoe, he's always lived and worked locally. He's the silent type, and enjoys reading and listening to vintage records. Voiced by Kazuo Oka (Zaggy, Dragon Slayer)

Junko Azumi (right): Kotaro's mother. She and Ryuunosuke met through work at Kawagoe City Hall. She's been a stay-at-home mother since Kotaro was born. Voiced by Kikuko Inoue (Belldandy, Ah! My Goddess)

Saori Mizuno (second from left): Akane's mother, a housewife. Because she married a bit young, she has a certain extra degree of friendship wiht her two daughters. Voiced by Chiwa Saito (Natsumi Hinata, Keroro Gunsou)

Hiroshi Mizuno (second from right): Akane's father, who works for a food company. His work has him and his family relocating on a regular basis, hence their presence in Kawagoe. Voiced by Mitsuo Iwata (Chanpa, Dragon Ball Super)

Ayane Mizuno (right): Akane's older sister, currently attending a private school in Tokyo. Frank, candid, and a good counselor for Akane. She's dating a construction worker. Voiced by Ryoko Maekawa (Sayaka Sasayama, Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V)

Tsubasa Kaneko (second from left): A third-year in the school's baseball club. Refers to himself as "ore-sama" and is generally not bothered with the idea of being considerate. Voiced by Kentaro Kumagai (Aston Altland, Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans)

Shou Nagahara (second from right): A third-year with a flashy personality. He's not very good at sports, but somehow manages to stay on the soccer team. Voiced by Yuuya Hirose (Daichi Norita, Cheer Boys!!)

Yasuhito Inaba (right): A third-year on the soccer team. Well-educated, good at sports, and possessed of common sense; but because of his plain face and personality, he doesn't stand out much. Voiced by Mark Ishii (Chrono Shindo, Cardfight! Vanguard G)

Miu Imazu (second from left): A third year and "ghost member" (non-participating member) of the school's brass band. Very interested in makeup and fashion, and in search of a boyfriend. Voiced by Haruka Chisuga (Miyoko Narushima, Haruchika)

Setsuko Satou (center): A third year and ghost member of the brass band. A well-off and generally nice girl who tends to have trouble expressing herself. Voiced by Misono Suzuki.

  Aira Miyamoto (second from right): A third year and ghost member of the brass band. Considered the most attractive girl in her class, and gives off an aura of leadership. Voiced by Kaori Ishihara (Seira Otoshiro, Aikatsu!)

Sakura Tanaka (right): A third year, withdrawn and an otaku. She reads light novels and wants to go to Comiket, but she's also curious about boys. Voiced by Honoka Inoue (Firacolribia Drio, Sukasuka; also the daughter of Kikuko Inoue)

  Ryouko Sonoda: A music teacher who, after two years of teaching, is suddenly in charge of a homeroom. Male students crush on her, female students envy her. Voiced by Nao Touyama (Karen Kujo, KINMOZA)

Daisuke Tachibana: Kotaro's older brother, currently attending college. He lives locally and is Kotaro's number one confidant. Voiced by Mutsuki Iwanaka (Akira, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable)

Tsuki ga Kirei is set to premiere this April.
