KAZUCHIYO, an original novel by Croik!

-The mythical country of Shuyun has been at war with itself for a century. Latest victim of of the bloodshed is Kazuchiyo, a young samurai captured by the enemy after his clan suffers a crushing defeat in battle. While being raised among his family's killers he meets two young men that will help him change his fate, whatever the consequences.-

Today is the last day for the Tapas Writer’s Camp contest that I entered with KAZUCHIYO.  In terms of subs I came in second!  Which doesn’t get me anything, lol.  There’s still a chance of being the judge’s pick but I’m not really expecting that, won’t find out until May 1st.  Either way almost 300 subs in a month is pretty darn good, and I’m really glad that I had something like this to kick my butt into starting.  The story shall continue!!  And in the meantime I’m still working on Boom and Monsters and whatever shiny thing catches my attention in the meantime.

2018 in review

Looking at all the positives, 2018 was a pretty good year for me!  Been working hard on Bang! Bang! BOOM! with @deltastic, and it’s going great. We’re into volume 2 now and recently got our first Kickstarter funded at 177%!  Our readers have been so positive and supportive, it’s really awesome. This year we’re going to be looking into getting the books available for sale online, in print and digital.

I also started writing another original novel, KAZUCHIYO, for a contest on Tapas.  Didn’t win, but it’s a story I first came up with years ago and then shelved for a long time, so it felt good to finally start putting it down. Dunno how much of a market there is for Samurai war drama poly romance but when it’s done (or at least, when the first one is done :D;;;; orz) I’d like to get it edited up nice and self-published.  

On the fic front I’ve been making very slow progress on longfics in MCU, DBH, and horror game fandoms.  I’m hoping to make more time for them in the new year.  I also had a very successful Yuletide! Del wrote me a FANTASTIC TEW fic with Ruvik and Joseph! And I wrote more fics than usual, for Annihilation, Aliens, Transistor, and The Terror, all of which seem to have been received pretty well.  

Personally not much to report.  Still have a decent job I don’t hate, and I’ve been assured it’s pretty darn secure. Been losing weight using Weight Watchers, but I still have some more to go.  

I’m not much of a resolutions person, but I do hope to take more time for writing in the new year.  I’d also like to get more gaming done, and start listening to more audiobooks during my commutes.  I want to get a BBB online store up and going, get Kazuchiyo 1 finished and edited.  And 2019 is the year of The Pig, which means it’s actually the year of SAW.  So let’s all consume and create MORE HORROR of all kinds….!!
