New friends! ...kinda?
((Little backstory- we met some new folks who were interested in meeting some guild members and Bru, the lovely @datwolfmonraz, offered to meet up with them first. Needless to say I decided to crash in too...just a little late xD))
“‘Ey Bru!”
Jazali ran into the inn with a giant smile, calling out again to the orc “Bru, Bru!” as she finally skidded to a halt in front of him, not noticing the two other people in the room. She held up two dead rabbits with a big silly grin “I gots me some lunch!”
The little troll blinked however when she noticed the two other members of the party stare at her, making Jazali hurriedly run behind Brugran and point at the two with a surprised shout “Who be doze two?!”
A blue haired troll covered in silver jewelery blinked at the new arrival before gasping and turning to Brugran “Oh! We didn’ intra’duce oua’selves. T’is be Kazju’zo.” she pointed at the absolutely massive white-haired troll beside her before gesturing to herself with a polite smile “I be Te’yapi. It’s nice to meet ja’ Bru-Bru.”
Brugran Beastrage now looked worriedly at the two trolls before he face-palmed at the name “Er no, no. My name is Brugran Beastrage..But you can call me...what are you doing?” He looked back at the little troll that still hid behind him warily.
Kazju’zo grumbles idly, before looking to the other female troll. His lips remained parted from his fangs as he moves a foot forward to press against the wood. He recognizes his name, his title universal in tongue. He looks to Tey’api in confusion, before he glanced at the two, grumbling lowly while his throat clenched and vibrated with a gravelly defensive growl that wasn’t all together controlled.
Tey’api planted her hands on her hips, silvery finery shifting and jingling as she turns to face Kazju’zo with a stern glare. “Kazju’zo. Be nice.” She warns softly in Zandali before smiling brightly at the other two. The primal softened somewhat at Tey’api’s speech, before grunting. His shoulders broadened as he slouched down again, dragging his claws through his pelt. His ears radar back and forth wildly, his right one beating softly at Tey’api’s arm as he calmed a little.
Brugran however thought it be safe to just in case inform the tiny troll behind him with hissing whisper “I swear to the gods if you make that Drakkari attack I’m going to throw you in the lake.”
The massive orc pointed his thumb at the little troll behind him “This is Jazali.” he looked to her from the corner of his eye “But Jaz for short. You can call me Bru.”
Meanwhile the tiny Darkspear behind him ‘ooh’-ed curiously as she blatantly stared at how massive the Drakkari was. Tey’api and Kazju’zo eh...new travelling companions perhaps? The little troll pointed obviously at Kazju’zo and proclaimed with an excited grin “Dat one look like a white bear!”
The bear in question looked at the troll pointing at him and blinked twice in surprise as his big black eyes settled on her warily. Tey’api reaches to gently grasp the Drakkari’s arm, tensing momentarily before she relaxed and beamed at Jazali, speaking in Zandali for the Darkspear and Kazju’zo’s understanding “He’s a bear primal!”
Kazju’zo looked to Tey with concern at her seizing his arm, before brushing his nose against it and looking back at the two, still on guard. The orc in front of them wasn’t sure what was said due to his lack of knowledge on Zandali, but was happy the Drakkari seemed to calm down; Jazali didn’t notice the tense exchange however and let out an ‘ah’ as she nodded in understanding “Ah I sees, bear primal, dat makes sense.”
She leaned over at Brugran and stage-whispered in Orcish warily “What be a bear primal?”
The orc rubbed his temples and shook his head at Jaz “What if that’s racist to him Jaz? Or offensive?”
Jazali snorted at Brugran defensively and waved a hand at Tey’api “Well Silver ladeh over der say he be a bear primal!” Kazju’zo tensed at the snorting, his shoulder blades jutting out as his thick back arced, giving another unintentional snarl as the tiny troll pointed to Tey’api.
Tey’api looked between the two before speaking at the break in the conversation “T’ey like...warriors of t’e wild? I dunno a good way ta’ put it. T’ey go t’rough a whole lot of tough trainin’, t’en t’ey look like Kazju’zo when t’ey done.” she beamed over at the Drakkari and gave his arm another few squeezes before her hand relaxed.
Brugran nodded, not knowing this bit about trolls “Interesting..” stroking his beard.
Kazju’zo remained stoic for now, but with the language he didn’t understand being flung around, he was left confused. His bear-esque lips splay from his fangs and gums before tightening around his tusks again.
Tey’api scowled and huffed at Kazju’zo in Zandali “Be nice” before leaning over and promptly buried her face in his fluff. The Drakkari remained in a defensive stance as she burried into his thick northern pelt, ears flicking. He dragged his claws across the ground, scarring the old oaken patio, but considerably eased at her nuzzling.
He tilted his head back to bump lightly into Tey’api, his rough voice that carried an animalistic snarl along with a gruff, deep thundering voice muttered “If they make a move against you, I’ll gore them.”
Although Brugran couldn’t understand the exchange, Jazali’s smile suddenly tensed at the statement she completely understood as she awkwardly lowered her hand to avoid looking in anyway threatening.
Tey’api deadpanned at Kazju’zo “Be nice. Don’t say that. She can understand you. We’re travelling with them” She straightened up as she spoke to him in Zandali, smiling.
Kazju’zu blinked “..What.”
As Jazali was distractedly pondering the primal concept, it finally clicked into her head, making her gasp slightly before nodding eagerly “Oh so dey be like duirds..but dey don’ turn inta bears!” She grinned down at Kazju’zo and asked in Zandali “Bear mon like rabbits?”
The giant troll blinked at her before simply grunting “To kill. And eat.”
Brugran blinked at the interaction; if she could calm the beast, that was all that mattered at the moment. “Well..” he said as he cleared his throat, side stepping so that Jaz no longer hid behind him.
Tey’api continued to smile brightly and responded in Zandali “She has rabbits that I think she killed. And we are travelling with them!” She affirms before looking to Bru and speaking in Orcish “I’ll work on teachin’ ‘im Orcish. I wanted to anehways.”
Jazali held up the two dead creatures in her hand “Jaz no kill rabbits. I bought dem off o’ nice orc ladeh!” She blinked and tilted her head at the things with a suspicious glare “I hope I no got dem cheap cuz dey got weird shits in ‘em or anytin’..”
Kazju’zo looked at the rabbits, his nose twitching as his cheekbones bent. He still had some salted Zhevra venison hung off his loincloth. He grumbled lowly, backing up, untrusting of the two specimens.
It wasn’t until the last statement from the other female troll finally sunk into the Darkspear’s head did Jaz suddenly pause and stare at the woman “..Eh? Ju be comin’ wid us?”
Tey’api bobbed her head up and down “Mhm!” before she pushed lightly at Kazju’zo’s shoulder “Don’t be rude. I’m sure the rabbits are fine! Promise.”
Brugran deadpanned at Jaz. “I doubt they’re poisoned.” The orc said but with an attempt to show no aggression he clasped his fist on his chest and bowed his head respectfully and even though slightly off he said “Well met.” in Zandali to Kazju.
Kazju’zo moved his head to look over the lake rather than continue looking at the rabbits, his thick lips pursing around his massive tusks. His massive, muscular form ripples through his body as he clenches. He snaps his head back to Brugran as he speaks in Zandali. His dark eyes flash before he grunts, tensing at the orc’s clenched fist, but after learning its intention, he simply dragged an open palm from his left shoulder to his right hip “Rhunok’s Breath.” He said simply in Zandali.
Jazali looked at Bru and tilted her head confusedly as her brows furrowed “When did Zari boss get us new trollies?”
Brugran looked to Jaz and replied in his native Orcish “She didn’t...I literally just met those two”
Tey’api blinked and added in“We kinda just...wandahed up. I mean, we was travellin’. And...I got lost. An’ t’en I lost ‘im…”
The blue troll grinned optimistically “We all gonna be good friends!” she followed the gaze of the Drakkari to the lake and asked “Are t’e fish any good here?”
Bru didn’t understand what was said from Kazju, the poor boy barely spoke Zandali, but he saw the expression and meaning. He looked to the lake and shrugged “I’ve seen some come to nibble at bread but I’ve not tried to catch any.”
Jazali shrugged along with the orc and looked behind her “I ain’ no good at fishin’, so I gots no clue.” The little troll turned to her rabbits and hummed curiously with a narrow stare “I guess der be one way o’ checkin’ da rabbits…” before she took a giant bite into the body and ripped off a huge chunk of the meat, chewing thoughtfully.
“. . .” Brugran couldn’t do anything but stare “Jaz...You-why...Ugh...Okay even I have more manners than that!”
Jazali simply ignored him and brightened up with a grin “Ey, dey ain’ bad!” before her face suddenly scrunched up in disgust and she spat out bits of fur “Pffleh! Muddy hair..”
The orc glared and huffed at Jaz “THAT’S WHY YOU SKIN IT FIRST. What’s wrong with you?!”
Tey’api, not seeming to mind this strange behaviour, suddenly chirped “Come to t’ink on it, we might go grab a stage or somet’ing. If ja both want, we can bring some back?”
Bru facepalmed hard at Jaz and shook his head “A COOKED stag sounds amazing right now. If you catch one I’ll cook it for us.”
Tey’api nodded with a smile “We go get a stag.” Tey’api ran a hand through Kazju’zo’s hair “I won’t lose you this time. Come on.” Kazju’zo looked up to Tey’api as she brushed back his hair, before standing. He chuffed, taking one last glare at the two, still untrusting, before following along.
“You be nice.” She scolded in Zandali as she walked along and folded her arms under her bust. The Drakkari used his full height for a moment as he stretched, easily breaking nine feet, before he slouched some again, following the Shatterspear.
Jazali wiped the blood off her chin as she saw them leave, then turned to Brugran with a grin “Well dey seem friendleh!”
Brugran nodded then shrugged “Well except that Drakkari bear..” He said shaking his head at Jaz “You just ruined a perfect rabbit...I can make that taste ten times better.”
Jazali waved a hand and blew a breath between her lips “Pssh, meat be meat.” before she glanced down at the rabbit dripping blood on her shirt and frowned “...but ya may got a point.”
Brugran nodded looking at the blood “It’s also cold.” before he shook his head and sat back by his lion. Jazali however turned to him and asked excitedly “But ju ken cook it now?” befor holding out the rabbits to him, her mind already rushing with possibilities about how it could taste.
Brugran deadpanned “..I will cook the one you didn’t gnaw on, yes.”
Jazali pouted but handed him the two rabbits with a huff “Wut difference it make...sharin’ be carin’ an’ all dat..”
The orc took both rabbits, although sneering at the one half chewed. He walked to the railing and pulled out his skinning knife and started to skin and gut them. Tossing the unwanted guts into the water “Well no offence but I don’t want to eat something you’ve chewed on.”
Jazali rolled her eyes and leaned with her side against the banister with a snort “It be called a ‘test nibble’, I ain’ chewed on it.” Her nose wrinkled in distatse as she saw the bits go flying in the water.
Brugran quickly skinned both the rabbits with ease, a skill he clearly could do blindfolded as he spoke “Don’t frown like that, there’s not enough meat here to make sausages so the intestines go. Everything else I keep for a stew.” He pulled the curing salt from his pouch and sprinkled it on the skins and left the two pieces on the banister.
The little Darkspear rested her chin on her palm and looked thoughtful as she glanced at Brugran’s skill with the two pieces of meat “Why ju no like da bear mon?”
He took the rabbits to the table and ruffled through his satchel, pulling out various spices and herbs “Bear mon didn’t like me. I just didn’t want to have to kill him in front of our new companion.”
Jazali’s eyes widened at the statement before she deadpanned at the distracted orc. And people said she had anger issues.
Their new companions came up behind them and the two looked to find Tey’api with her arms held out doing jazz-hands “Ta-dah! Food!”
Kazju’zo dropped a massive stag down before them, the beast flumping to the wooden ground. Its hide remained unsullied of any marring, mind the bulge in its jugular from a broken neck. He grunted, backing away from his kill and crouching down next to Tey’api.
Brugran had just finished the seasoning and glanced up “Welcome back. I’m teaching Jaz food tastes better cooked.”
Jazali whirled her head to Brugran while her lips curled in contempt “I know dat food taste good when cooked ya salty orc!”
Tey’api smiled brightly and nodded “No rush. I was going ta’ kill it, but I couldn’ find a stick...so ‘e killed it.” She said in Orcish.
The giant Drakkari looked at the seasoned rabbits, curling his nose in disgust at the smell. He pointed at the two pieces and grunted in Zandali “Why is he ruining the food?”
Tey’api blinked before she replied back to him in Zandali “I think orcs tend to prefer cooked food. Don’t worry. We’ll get you your own that’s not cooked.
Brugran paused for a moment and stepped toward the stag “I...take it he likes his meat raw too..” The Shatterspear woman smiled at Brugran and nodded in response.
“Reassure him this will taste good, not weird like elf cooking.” Brugran grunted.
Tey’api nodded “Mind if we, ah, take a li’l bit t’at...doesn’ get cooked?”
Brugran bowed his head in agreement “Of course. You killed it, take what you’d like.”
Tey’api smiled and replied back to the bear primal in Zandali “You can take what you want of it for yourself.” before she smiled and folded her hands together as she replied to Brugran in Orcish “I told ‘im. I appreciate it vereh much.”
Brugran nodded with a smile “Let me skin it and you can have whatever you’d like.”
Kazju’zo blinked, before looking to the stag. He moved forward, rubbing near the rib cage, feeling around, before he gave a grunt as he shoved his clawed hand through the flesh, breaking it in his massive paws’ wake. After a moment of adjusting his grip, his muscles bulged as he widened the wound until the hide and muscle snapped and tore with some audible gurgling, exposing the rib cage. He reached in, removing each rib as if it was nothing and adjusted his way through the sinew and entrails, before tearing out the heart.
Tey’api blinked a few times as she looked over and watched her Drakkari quietly. She awkwardly turned and offered a smile in return to the two ahead of her, a bit worried for their reactions. He reached down, moving near the bladder area. A gurgling sound was heard as he pushed the stomach upwards, into the chest cavity, and detached the liver, before backing off both slimy innards in both hands.
He slouched back down, his forearms and hands stained with the crimson lifeblood of the beast, ears flicking as he stared at the other two. Fuck skinning.
All Jazali could do was stare in a mixture of pure astonishment, awe, admiration and disgust as she saw the bladder puncture slightly and release all kinds of ooze. Her lips finally set into an awkward thin line before she raised a finger and coughed out “..Jaz need a mo’.”
Brugran held back a sigh when the Drakkari ripped through the perfect pelt but his lion often did more damage so he didn’t get it get to him.
“Good choice.” He said nodding to the bear’s choice in taking the heart and liver. Once Kaz took what he wanted he walked to the stag and began to skin it. Seemingly unphased by the gruesome act.
Tey’api pursed her lips tightly as she suggested in Zandali “Kazju’zo, I think we should take...our parts and go sit outside, huh?” She looks from poor Jaz to Kaz.
Jazali however waved a hand with a weak smile “Whatcha mean mon, jus’ stay here an’ cook it!” Her nose however wrinkled at the smell before she held up both hands to clench her nose, squeaking out nasally “Jus’...ain’ too sure ‘bout da people ‘ere bein happy we stainin’ their floors..”
Brugran mumbled “..I don’t think he’s going to cook it.”
Kazju’zo blinked, looking to Tey’api, before back to the two. He moved the heart up to his massive fangs, the gnashes sinking into the thick muscle as it damn near pops, blood splashing from the aorta over his chin, beard and tusks before he stood. Globules of blood drip to the ground in thick droplets, a string of sinew and tendons hanging loosely from his lip from the massive chomp he took out of the heart, like an apple.
Bru swiftly continued to skin the animal however as he lightly said “Yea I...I didn’t think so.”
Tey’api looked to the Drakkari and covered her face with her palm “I-I apologize..uh..We- gonna sit ...ou’side.”
Brugran laughed and thumbed to his lion “Between him and Jaz, I’m getting used to it.” making the Shatterspear laugh along with him. Kazju’zo however looked rather confused, before looking at the lion. His ears flicked as he stared at the massive feline for a while, before to Te’yapi.
Jazali sniffed and crossed her arms “Ju jus’ mad ya don’ appreciate da ‘natural flavors’.”

The First Pun
(( a small little one-shot between Tey’api ( @the-might-of-shirvallah) and Jazali meeting up in Orgrimmar that’s just full of silliness and puns, so probably dont need to read xD))
Jazali put her hands over Tey’api’s eyes with a grin and snickered “Guess who it be!” Tey’api’s brows lifted in surprise and her eyes widened beneath Jazali’s hands in thought.
She pursed her lips “Na’ Kazju’zo. Jazali!”
The troll in question booped Tey’s nose and laughed “Yee, ya got it!” She walked over and plonked herself beside Tey with a curious glance to the floppy hat atop her head “I almos’ didn’ recognise ya from dat ting on ya head!”
Tey’api wiggled herself to face Jazali better “‘s a hat! Kazju’zo got it fo’ me. ‘E didn’ say where ‘e got it, but I love it!” She beamed as she took it off, letting her muss of black dreadlocks fall free.
Jazali grinned and snickered as she leaned back with both her hands behind her “It suits ya!”
The little troll curiously looked around as she asked “Where be da Bear mon? ‘E usually be wid ya..”
Tey’api nodded firmly “‘E doesn’ do well in cities, what wit’ all t’e noise. I wanted to come get supplies an’ stuff, since we comin’ wit’ joo’ all. New clothes, an’ I wanted ta get somet’ing made for him.” The black-haired troll leaned closer to Jaz and stage-whispered “A present.” She straightened up and smiled.
Jazali hummed curiously and shrugged as she looked out over the water with a sheepish chuckle “Yeh, I don’ blame ‘im, I don’ usually come ‘ere unless it be fo’ mah lettahs. I be sure he’ll love ya present.” The little troll suddenly snickered and nudged Tey’s side “Ju probableh can git ya bear mate some fish an’ he’ll be happy.”
Tey’api, not really noticing the last comment, nodded thoughtfully “I hope so. It don’ feel enough to just keep sayin’ thanks to ‘im. ‘E found me an’ saved me, ja’ know. I was bein’ chased b-”
She cut herself off and her eyes widened as she finally let the last statement sink in, making her stutter “Oh! ‘E’s n-not- I mean, ‘e could be- I mean, I’d LIKE for ‘im t- I mean…”Jazali froze and leaned back a bit at Tey’api’s sudden stammer, however nodded a bit at the confused garble of words that she barely strung together.
Tey finally facepalmed, making her silverwear jingle as she groaned “We’re...uh, n-na’ together.”
“Oh! Jus’ t’ought dat from ‘ow close ju two were dat…” Jazali cut herself off with a ‘bah!’ and waved a hand sheepishly as she chuckled “Heh uh, mah bad den.”
“It’s not ja’ fault.” Tey’api shook her head with a small smile. There was an awkward silence between the two before Jaz couldn’t help herself and asked curiously with a raised brow “...but Silvah ladeh want Bear mate?” Tey’api grinned shyly “I like ‘im in dat way. We just haven’t...well, talked much on it. ‘E’s really great. ‘E understands t’at I’m not super strong. ‘E settles wit’ me through my seizes. An’ ‘e thinks I’m funny like I t’ink ‘e is.”
Jazali hummed and looked out over the water with a dry smirk “Dat soun’ nice..” and familiar, but Jaz wasn’t going to open up THAT can of worms. She however did pause for a moment and give Tey a confused glance as she tilted her head “...Ya sneezes? Why da mon gotta go through ya sneezes?”
Tey’api blinked, before she shook her head “Oh, ah, no. Seizes. I kinda...Ja’ know, my goes into seizin’ fits.”
Jazali nodded slowly and pursed her lips as she tried to remember...she had definitely heard that term before, mostly for the village elders in her hometown or for people who were accused of being possessed by the loa. Was Tey a possessed Loa?
The little troll hummed as she warily glanced at Tey “Jaz...kinda know what ya mean?-” she shrugged and glanced over the water “-Be nice o’ Bear mon ta do dat tho..”
Tey’api nodded and stretched her legs out with a sigh “It’s been a problem since I was li’l.” She however put her hat back atop her head proudly “E’s nice. I know ‘e’s a li’l, uh, rough around t’’e edges. He’s just gotta get used to ja’ is all!”
Jazali snickered and rolled her eyes upward as she sighed “Oh yeh, Jaz know plenty ‘bout gettin’ used ta big bears..” She scratched the back of her head and grinned as if laughing at an inside joke that may have been about a big tree.
Her grin suddenly turned wider as she whirled her head to Tey “Ya wondah if ‘e be inta puns?”
Tey’api blinked a few times before looking a bit ashamed. “Puns?” She inquired hoarsely, not knowing what they were “I t’ink I’ve ‘eard my twin Mitz’on speak of dem. Like, once.”
Jazali’s smile turned into a full beam as she nodded her head excitedly “Yeh, puns! Y’know! Like uh...um um um!” The little troll patted her head with both hands as she clenched her eyes hard, trying to think of a really good one for Tey; after all, this would be the troll’s first time hearing a pun!
Jazali’s eyes shot open before she snapped her fingers and shouted “I gots it!”
Tey’api jolted a bit, but leaned forward curiously “I’m listenin’.”
Jazali cleared her throat loudly before she asked cheekily “What do Grizzlies say when dey get angry fo’ revenge?” Tey’api blinked “I don’ know. What do t’ey say?”
Jazali bounced excitedly before she deepend her voice to a silly level and growled out loudly “WHEN I FIND YA, DA CONSEQUENCES WILL BE...UNBEARBLE!” And just like that, the little troll broke down into snickers as she nearly fell over backwards. Tey’api blinked a few times, leaning back a bit before she finally got the joke.
“T’at is t’e… BEST t’ing I ‘ave ever ‘eard!” Tey’api laughed along with the little Darkspear.
Jazali had to take heaving breaths to calm down as she wiped a tear from her eye proudly. Ah yes, the first time is always the most beautiful. But the little troll was far from over. Her ears happily perked up again as she eagerly nudged Tey with her elbow and asked with a bright grin “ ‘Ey ey Tey!”
Tey’api tried to still her giggled, ears perking in turn “What is it Jaz?” She asked gleefully.
The Darkspear barely held in her snickering as she snorted out “Hehe..b..BEAR wid me, dis pun is pretty good HAHA!”
Tey’api snorted loudly and bursted into another fit of giggles, holding her stomache as she howled with laughter “A-anyone who doesn’ like puns is.. unBEARable! Did I do it right?!”
Jazali nearly fell as she roared with laughter and suddenly hugged Tey’api tightly to her side while chortling “YES oh my loa dat was perfect! I be so proud, ya firs’ pun!”
Tey’api wrapped an arm around Jaz in turn for the hug “Oh I like puns! I love puns! I gotta share dem wit’ Kaz!” She sat utterly still for a moment before giggling “I could BEARly hold down my own laughtah!”
The poor Darkspear now couldn’t stop chortling as she hugged Tey tighter “Ju be amazin’ Tey hehehe…” Jazali wiped another tear from her eye as she snorted “If Bear mon don’ like deez, den ‘e jus’ be salty like Bru..”
Tey’api waved a hand dismissively “Oh, I’m sure ‘e’ll like dem. I taught ‘im ‘Tag’ yesterday!”
Jazali blinked as suddenly a very genius idea came into her mind that made her smirk very widely, a smirk that only promised mischief “Oh...By da way… ju ‘oughta tell Bru a pun. ‘E realleh loves ‘em.”
Tey’api lifted a brow but nodded with a smile “Oh! Sure! I’ll figure some good ones out!”
Jazali snickered mischieviously to herself as she finally let Tey go with a wink “But ju no hear dat from me okee?”
Tey’api nodded eagerly “A’ight! I share all de puns!”
