It had always been Aaliyah & her twin brother Aiden. The two were inseparable & always understood one another. Call in twin intuition, but they knew when something was wrong with the other & almost exactly what the other could be thinking. They were each other's best friends. Always being there for each other because their parents fought a lot. Over money, affairs, things said at dinner, things said in public, what was done in public. Everything. Aaliyah & Aiden were a popular topic; their parents had different views on how to raise the twins. Their father was physical when it cames to punishments, which seemed to be over anything. It started when they were five. Shoves, twists of skin, slaps. Nothing that left too much of a mark for teachers & other caretakers to notice. Their mother took most of the beatings, but that didn't stop their father from taking his anger out on the children. 

One night, things turned for the worse. In a blind rage, their father murdered their mother. They were eight, hiding in their closet, hearing the whole thing. Their father, scared, took his children in the car & fled the state. The family was only able to hide for four months before they were spotted in a supermarket & stopped at their motel. Their father got 25 to life. After that, they were placed in foster care. The twins only had each other for so long before their relatives stepped in. Taken in by their aunt & uncle,  it seemed like life was going to be okay after that. 

It wasn't. They were ten when their aunt & uncle began arguing. The topic? Money & the twins. It was almost a repeat of life with their parents again. Their uncle was physical in punishments that seemed to be over nothing, but their aunt did nothing but watch. To try get away as the twins got older, they enrolled in activities. Aaliyah did cheerleading & track. But that didn't stop the abuse. Not until they were 18 & were able to go off to college. 

Aaliyah went to Virginia Tech University for Wildlife Conservation & Animal & Poultry Sciences. She loved it. Animals had been her calling. And in her mid 20s, she met her first husband & the father of her first child & son, Aris Angelos Amana. 

The night the virus reached Virginia & their family was Aaliyah's worst nightmare. Her husband was bitten & in attempt to get help, killed by a police officer. Aaliyah took her child & ran with fear as he chased after them but was eventually killed by zombies. She couldn't explain how she made it out of town alive with Aris but she did. She was lucky...grateful.

But they spent years far from civilization & anyone who wasn't going to eat them, turn them into monsters. They were lucky to find other groups, small ones mostly that got separated by groups or killed one way or another. Aaliyah & her son have many scars & memories to tell write an autobiography of everything they'd experienced. 

It'd been the last group she'd been with which resulted in her pregnancy of her twins, Kiyana Alheri Amana & Aurelia Kayla Amana. And it wasn't long, only five months, before she got separated from their father & only with her three children, that she ran into a Redwood survivor. She was lucky & grateful to be taken in. But Aaliyah has to adjust for the sake of her family, who seem to already feel safe in their new home.

D&D ONE-SHOT

It’s a pleasure to announce that one of our lovely voice actors Avalon Willowbloom (she/they) will be running a D&D 5e Feywild one-shot on Saturday to promote our crowdfunding campaign!

The one-shot will be hosed by ESP - Enchanting Sorcery Productions, and will take place on SATURDAY MAY 27TH at 8PM EST!

The one-shot will be GM’ed by Avalon Willowbloom (she/they), a voice actor with Tranthologies who also voice acts a bunch with Faustian Nonsense. She likes the scary, silly, and strange most of all.

C.V.V.M. (any neopronouns) is an artist/voice actor for podcasts such as Tranthologies, The Domestic Life of Anthony Todd, and Station Arcadia among others. In qis free time, qi enjoys writing and drawing - and is working on an ever-expanding D&D homebrew world. Ey have been playing D&D and other TTRPGS for 5 or so years.

Shawn Tumbokon-Flowers (he/him) is a VA for various side roles in Tranthologies and larger roles across the [Listless] Network, including Nicky Dixon in The Children of Room 56. Recording out of Chicago, he’s been on many podcasts and even on live radio. He’s a fan of D&D, has been a GM for 6 years, and can’t wait to play for Tranthologies!

Maegan Fellner (she/they/he) is an actor who also sometimes writes, draws, and knits sweaters. Law & Order Season 21 Ep. 8 "Severance"

Bernard and Cosgrove investigate the murder of the CFO of a Fortune 500 company. The prosecution faces challenges as McCoy and Price disagree over a decision that could impact the outcome of the case.

The story begins with a woman getting on a Zoom call and abruptly telling her staff to stop what they are doing, promising to explain the next day. Shortly after hanging up, she hears the doorbell ring and goes to answer it. The next thing we know, the woman has been murdered, strangled after a struggle. Bernard deduces that the killer was someone the woman knew, as she let them in.

Later, the police interview a co-worker who had called them in. He finds it strange that Alexis did not show up and left early at 7:30 pm. He has only met her virtually.

There is no match in the system to the DNA found under the victim's fingernails. Her phone records show that she was on the work calls throughout the day and night. She texted the company owner shortly before her death. The police spoke to Merritt, who has ambitious plans to change the world by introducing zero-emission cars. He only saw Alexis's text this morning. Merritt explained that Alexis had issues with a former employee who was unhappy about her promotion and accused her of sabotage. Alexis had saved several emails from this person under the label "threats". The police discover a video of the individual pushing her.

The individual claims to have only sent drunken emails and that Alexis obtains his job because of race and gender. He also states that Alexis is aggressive and they should talk with Kayla, her assistant.

The police convince Kayla to talk, despite her reluctance to gossip. She reveals that Alexis may have been having an affair and has a second phone. The police then question the man she mentions, who initially denies knowing her. He was shocked to learn of her death. He identifies as gay and works as a journalist. She provided him with information about Merritt, and he is shocked to learn that Mr. Progressive has been mistreating women. Cosgrove believes that bosses should be allowed to get angry occasionally, but Dixon disagrees. Dixon's only concern is whether he has an alibi.

Merritt denies any motive for jeopardising his life due to Alexis's dissatisfaction. He falsely claims to have retired early because he is concerned about appearances. Merritt is in a relationship with an employee and did not want to be accused of sexual harassment. He consents to provide a DNA sample, which does not match the killer's. Dixon reports that they have made no progress. The security cameras show a man who worked for a rival company and is expecting a 300 million dollar payout.

However, Alexis cancelled the deal. Gus claims that he went to Alexis' house that night to discuss the deal, but she did not answer the door, so he left. He denies killing her and states that Baker can confirm his alibi. The police question Baker, who is defensive and has scratches on his arms.

Maroun argues that he is a flight risk and requests remand. The defense attorney claims that Baker's severe migraines are a cause for concern and requests bail so that his wife can care for him. However, the judge denies the request as Baker appears to have a seizure. Baker faces a second-degree murder charge.

Baker's performance is impressive, according to Price. He believes it is part of the defense strategy. A motion was filed to suppress Baker's DNA sample, despite his consent. The defense attorney argues that Baker's migraine affected his ability to consent, and the judge agrees, resulting in the DNA being thrown out.

Price delivers his opening statement and proceeds to call Gus. As Gus begins talking, Baker appears to have another migraine. The defense attempts to portray Gus as the true killer but is unsuccessful. Baker begins shouting that Gus is lying and that he did not kill anyone before being removed. The defense attorney is now arguing that Baker is suffering from Havana Syndrome and does not realize he has an insanity defense until his courtroom outburst. It is possible for someone with the syndrome to go into fugue states and dissociate, although the medical expert has not encountered any such cases.

Price questions the validity of this defense. Maroun is uncertain but believes that Baker is sympathetic due to his sudden illness while working for the State Department. However, Price argues that no one has ever killed anyone due to this syndrome before, and in his opinion, this was murder and the medical defense is merely a strategy.

It is worth noting that the CIA Deputy Director has been subpoenaed. Price does not want to testify and informs McCoy that the defense intends to put the CIA on trial. McCoy is asked to plead Baker out to avoid the need for Price to testify. However, Price is not interested in accepting a plea deal just to protect the CIA's image. He argues that there is no scientific evidence linking Havana Syndrome to murder. Despite this, McCoy believes that Baker is a sympathetic character and has a strong case. Price is comfortable with his cards and believes in playing the hand you have, not the one you wish you had. McCoy agrees and suggests finishing the trial if you tink you can win.

During the trial, the defense called a doctor who claims that Baker is suffering from Havana Syndrome, which causes a condition similar to that experienced by football players with brain damage that leads to impulsive behaviour. However, Price is able to get the doctor to admit that CTE cannot be diagnosed in living people and that out of the 999 people he interviewed with Havana Syndrome, none had murdered anyone.

Baker's wife also testifies and describes his symptoms, noting that they had changed after they moved to New York. Colin is always kind and gentle. However, over the past year, he has had angry outbursts. They are so bad that she considers leaving him. She feels terrible because she didn't realize it is Havana Syndrome. Baker's wife is a pediatrician, yet she never thought her husband needed medical treatment. Apparently, she did, but he doesn't have time because he is working. Also, she lives with him and her children. Price suggests that maybe these symptoms aren't real, and he is just stressed out by trying to make partner. For some reason, the judge sustains an objection every time Price points this out.

Baker claims he did not plan to kill Alexis. He wanted to salvage the deal with her. He does not remember what happened. He recalls talking to her and then seeing her dead on the floor. He did not intend to harm her as she was his friend. Price inquires whether Baker regrets not thinking clearly. Price accuses him of wanting to confront Alexis. He insists that the syndrome caused his actions and breaks down on the stand, crying that the government lied to him.

The jury has reached their verdict. The defendant has been found not guilty by reason of mental disease. Price informs McCoy that he still believes Baker is lying. McCoy reminds him that lawyers who believe they are right lose more cases.
