Tucked under the spotty cover of a sugar maple, you pluck the compact mirror and mascara from the pocket of your raincoat, carefully planted there this morning. You wear makeup occasionally when you’re away from home, never in front of your father. All of the women here wear it.

Stroking the black goop through your lashes until you’re satisfied with the way that they frame your eyes, you’re getting better at not smudging it onto your eyelid. Next, lipstick. It’s not that far from the true shade of your lips, it’s just something to define them a little bit more. You rub them together and examine, then exhale. 

Bradley’s just about the only member of staff that managed to snag his own cabin. If you asked why, you’d receive a few different answers depending on who you were talking to. He’s just been here the longest. He wakes up early and isn’t the best roommate. He doesn’t play nicely with others is an increasingly common answer.

It stands alone behind the rows of staff accommodation, more faded than the rest, screened windows covering each of the four walls, most covered by curtains. Two rickety steps up before you’re knocking on the front door, trying to suppress that giddy feeling buzzing through your middle. 

Bradley answers after your first knock, having seen you walking up the hill and grinning to yourself like a lovesick kid. His hair’s damp, one curl sitting on his forehead like he’s Elvis, a towel draped over his shoulder. He looks you slowly up and down, blocking the entry with his broad frame. Mud on the soles of your pristine sneakers, rain droplets threatening to make your cute, white slacks a little less innocent. Your soaked rain jacket, zipped up to your chin.

“Damn, you’re early, I could’ve been sure that Simon Says ran on until three.” He teases, tanned features glowing even in the overcast lighting as he grins at you. Cheeks burning, you narrow your eyes and tap at his stomach. His gaze breaks away from you, just briefly to check that no one can see you, and you feel like you can breathe again. Finally, he relents and grabs hold of your soaked raincoat, bunching the fabric near the bottom in his head as he tugs you inside.

The Bradshaw household was buzzing with music very morning but on a day like today, it was buzzing with love songs. Carol was baking pancakes another round of pancakes with extra strawberries on top while Bradley packed up his backpack as he stuffed some breakfast fruits into his mouth, searching for his earbuds. Until finally he found them in his other pants. It’s cause his mother to roll her eyes and say, “Bradley! Slow down, your not on a racetrack to the finish line, it’s just a normal school day. You’re gonna be fine!”

Bradley rolled his eye back at her with a look that was clearly his father’s goofy lovesick grin as he replied, “Mom! It’s not just any school day, it’s Valentine’s Day! JenPen is gonna be there and I’mma surprise her.”

“Jenny is just like any other girl, aside from having her father’s cheeky grin and sometimes impulsive behavior, you can get her anything and she will be happy. She will be overjoyed with whatever i buy her, it can be a simple bouquet of flowers and she will love it!”

“Mom she’s my girlfriend now! I won the grand prize and I’mma surprised her.”

“I swear your gonna go overboard and cause a huge scene like your father did in college during our first Valentine’s Day!”

“I won’t go overboard! I’m just gonna buy her a few things. Gotta go! Love you! Bye!”

Without a second to spare and another word from Carol, Bradley kisses his mother’s cheek, picked up his cowboy hat and drove downtown in his car heading to every store he could find, accidentally passing a few stop lights, until he found exactly what he was searching for. Even grabbing his friends along the way to the mall and any other store. Finally he found the gifts! He grabbed his paid items from the stores and headed off to school singing with his pals loudly.

Jenny was already bright and early at her locker fixing up her makeup. Today for Valentine’s Day, she decided to wear a cute but very comfy outfit. A white sweater with a pink tank top underneath, a nice length velvet reddish skirt and paired with a set of black low tops sneakers. To her was lifted in a ponytail with baby hairs threatening to stick out but it gave off a cute messy hairstyle vibe. It was finally her first actual romantic day with Rooster, especially after last year’s accidental Valentine’s Day confession between the pair at her house, after all those years of pinning and conflicted emotions those two lovebirds finally made it official.

“Hey girl!” Yelled out one of her friends, Trixie, bringing her out of her thoughts, “You look cute, where’s Kazansky at?”

“She decided to skip first period today, if she can possibly the rest of the day. Especially after that idiot football player, Travis dumped her for that random cheerleader, Giselle!” Jenny explain while fixing her lipstick.

“Aww poor thing! And Travis a a jerk, but Amber will get over it and find love in the future. I always pictured her with a blonde with blue eyes or a slightly short brunette with brown rich eye!”

“With her luck, her future husband will probably be a jock or a aviator lover boy. You going out tonight?”

“Ren from Geometry, you know the artistic dancer who’s a senior, asked me out.”

The girls chatted a bit before Trixie headed off to meet up with some other students in the hallway while Jenny stayed behind to finish up her English homework, she forgot to do the night before. Oops. She sat by her locker with her notebook in her lap, hearing a booming voice and music playing as laughter followed behind. Bradshaw and his friend, Ren.

The moment she looked up, her jaw completely dropped. Bradley was holding a huge 5 feet tall teddy bear, a small bouquet of roses and his friend, Ren, was throwing flowers to every girl in the hallway joyfully in the kindness way possible. Music played from Ren’s phone and everyone smiled. Hell, the pair was dressed up in such causal sweet outfits too. It a total sight to see. All Jenny could do was smile and giggles as she stood up watching the duo play their little performance.

“Oh my god!” Jen grinned running up to the boys blushing, “You two are something else, i swear!”

“Only the best for you, pumpkin! Happy Valentine’s Day, gorgeous.” Bradley said, bringing her close as his lips brushed against hers sweetly, “You like?”

“I love! I only got you a sweater and a cowboy hat.”

“I bet I’ll look amazing it! I love you.”

“I love you too, Roo!”

The bell rang as both crazy kids rushed off to class in joyful laughter along with their friends. The two shared a few classes together, in which they couldn’t keep their hands to themselves for as they were caught by the teacher multiple time telling them to be quiet. When lunchtime came around, they were eating with their group of friends and Amber finally joined the group after skipping 1-4 period claiming she wasn’t feeling to well, while also getting a chance to slap her ex-boyfriend across the face in the hallways as many students saw. Jenny couldn’t be prouder at that as Bradley, Ren and Trixie cheered her on!

Finally the school day was to a end as the group headed to the park for a picnic. The boys were dancing nearby the streets, twirling every girl into their arms in pure laughter. Now, Amber and Trixie were by the swings. The couple stood next by the slides. Jenny noticed as Bradley smiling prouder as he put his cowboy hat on his head and zipped on his new sweater. “Now, when you said you were gonna wear the cowboy hat, I didn't know how I'd feel about it.” She said.

“And now that you've seen me in it, what's the verdict?” He asked sitting down on the slide while he saw Ren ran back to grab something from his car.

“I think you're sexier than socks on a rooster.” She repiled with a grin.

“That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me!”

“I mean it, stud!”

“Wanna get lunch?”

Amber yelled from the swings, “Pizza.”

“YES!” Trixie yelled swing even higher.

Ren who ran back to the group after grabbing the water, yelled, “Fine by me!”

“Extra soda too!” All the girls shouted at the same time.

So a result the boys went and came back with pizza for three hungry ladies, as well as themselves. Every ate, they laughed, and later on played before heading their separate ways for the afternoon especially after it started getting chilly. However Bradley took his girl to the movie theater to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2, they weren’t the completely romantic type and wanted to see a cute funny film instead of a cheesy romantic comedy that they can just find on Netflix another time. To say the couple enjoyed themselves was a understatement because they were having a great time, even suggesting the idea of asking their parents for a dog after watching the movie.

The pair walked out of the movie theater into the parking lot, opened the doors on the front seats and turned up the radio to simply dance like nobody’s around. A few funky songs, some romantic some played and others were completely random. Bradley leaned against the door to the passenger taking a breath swaying his hand that was connected to Jenny who was dancing in way, swaying her hips and twirling around with still so much energy. At that moment, Bradley could’ve sworn Cupid has played his cards perfectly, cause all he saw a tiny gorgeous ball of soft sunshine and a gentle breeze made it was all clear. That’s his wife, standing right there in front of him.

“Come on! One more song?” She asked with a giggling grin, leaning towards her man, seeing her world in his eyes. Jenny let out a breathtaking sigh, playing with his hair as she rested her head on his shoulder, “I know that we’ll be alright, I don’t need another song. I got my song, you.”

“Alright, one moment, gorgeous. I’m somebody’s muses then.” Bradley let out a breathtaking smile, looped his fingers underneath her chin as his lips touched her, “…and well, I think i found the somebody I’ll love to share a home with. And I’m looking right at her.”

“Aww..i do see a future in your eyes Brad Brad. I want you, I don’t deserve this but i got it.”

“I don’t deserve you, but look at us now. I want a a huge house, with my piano in the living room and to have you dancing in your favorite dress.”

“And i want a huge kitchen to bake my apple pie for us with our dog. Oh! And we need extra rooms.”

“For what? It will be the two of us and maybe a dog! Called Buster or Maxwell or FeFe or Candy?”

“What? It’s for your mama and my daddy, silly! They need space to visit, they aren’t sleeping in the garage. And for our kids..if you want kids?”

Bradley grinned, picking her up by the waist spinning and he yelled, “I want a battalion! We’re having our own soccer team or baseball team.”

“Woah!” Jenny yelled mid laugh, “How many kids you think we’re having?”

“Well we need about 4! Two girls, two boys. And if we’re surprised with baby number 5, even better!”

“5 babies Bradshaws?! Let’s start with two and see how it goes!”

“As long as your their mama and I’m their daddy. And your my wife!”

Jenny grinned brightly thinking about all the possibilities and such, “Wife? Yes please! Jenny Bradshaw? I love it!”

“You’ll be called Mrs. Bradshaw..or Bradshaw-Mitchell or Mitchell-Bradshaw? We’ll figure it out later!”

“I love you, Mr. Bradshaw.”

“I love you Mrs. Bradshaw.”

“Happy Valentines Day, baby.”

The couple went home that day to Carol and Pete who were cooking up a mini dinner, well Carol was cooking and Pete was trying to steal the ingredients from her, as they ate with their parents. They talked about their day together with their friends, how they planned on sharing their weekend together with Pete’s house working on his planes and to go shopping with Carol. Pete discussed on how he had a date later that night to head off to while Carol brought up all the free samples she got at the mall today.

When the conversation about school came about, it was kind short. Since not too much that happened aside from the cute gift giving in the hallway, a math test made by Mr. Stevenson, the lunch ladies giving out cookies with their meals, a Valentines Day bake sale and of course, Amber slapping her ex-boyfriend across the face. Other than that, it wasn’t much to really talk about when it came to school. Overall it was a fun and very sweet Valentines Day for the Mitchell Bradshaw household.

listening to rep. katie porter's memoir I Swear: Politics Is Messier Than My Minivan and it's real good. she's the only single mother in congress with young kids, she basically goes into detail of how the institution itself makes it difficult for someone like her to do the work of helping people. and she's done a lot of work helping people with foreclosed homes and bankruptcy. her audiobook is voiced by her so hearing all the juicy bits of her swearing is a treat. like she says, being a congresswoman is often "more Veep than House of Cards."

Anxiety wrecked through your body as you stood in front of Katie’s childhood home – Today was the day you would meet her parents. With ten siblings it's hard to get them alone, but tonight everything worked out. Your girlfriend of five months wanted to introduce you to her family gradually, and not throw you into cold water, meeting all of them at once.

“What are the chances that you’d let me not meet them, then tell them I died or something and we can run away together and—”

“Breathe, baby. Please!” The Irishwoman couldn’t help but laugh, finding your nervousness cute, but she obviously already knew her parents, and you didn’t. “They’re gonna love you, don’t even worry your pretty little head about it.”

Instead of knocking like you wanted to, your girlfriend just pushed the door open. “Mum! Dad! We’re here!” her loud voice drowned the soft background music out, as two figures made their way towards you from the kitchen.

“Oh it is so lovely to meet you – look how pretty Gary!” Katie’s mum immediately started to fuss about you, pulling you in a bone-crushing hug, before keeping you at arm's length, looking you up and down. “We need to get some meat onto ya!”

Wow. This was a lot.

But Katie couldn’t help but smile, watching her mum be so excited towards you and openly inviting you into her family home. Her dad gave her a firm pat on the back, obviously a lot calmer than her mum was – but he also pulled you in a quick hug, making you feel very welcome.

No ten minutes later after getting a tour of the entire home, the four of you were sat at the dining table – or rather Katie and Gary were sitting, while you insisted on helping Sharon carry the many side dishes and help cut the bread. It was delicious – a pasta mushroom ragout with incredible homemade bread, very hearty and filling.

Everything was going well and Katie admired the way you just fit in perfectly with both her parents. Sharon and you shared a passion for cooking and gardening while Gary admired your subtle and funny digs at his daughter.

“So what do you do for a living?” Gary had swatted at Katie to help her Mum clear the table, making you sit back down again, insisting that you had already helped enough and that your girlfriend was indeed able to do some work, even if she would try to convince you from other things.

“Oh, I’m a Bank Teller. I help our customers cash checks, withdraw money, move transactions to different accounts, create checking and savings accounts, and provide checks to customers – stuff like that.”

Both Gary and Sharon had wide eyes, that just screamed impressed – while Katie had that annoying, cocky smirk on her face as her hand rested on your thighs. “Told you she’s smarter than all of us!”

You could see where Katie had gotten her wit, humor, and compassion from. Her parents truly were incredible. Eleven children was no easy feat and all of them had grown to be lovely human beings. It made your eyes water a bit, hearing the parents brag about their youngest getting good grades and finding passion in drawing.

“Katie here was always a little special though.” You couldn’t help but laugh at your girlfriend’s wide eyes – she was fucked. The conversation had turned from her sibling's embarrassing stories to her own and she knew it. “We once went to church, and the priest raised his voice at the end of his sermon, to emphasize his point. And because Katie here, wasn’t allowed to shout in the house, she stood up on the pews and yelled at the top of her lungs ‘Inside voice only!’ – the whole church laughed!”

Gary could barely tell the story, or get through the impression of his daughter without nearly dying of laughter – and you joined him. Katie could only watch you, mesmerized that you fit in so well, that she didn’t even care that her parents were just completely embarrassing her with story after story until your belly hurt from laughing so much.

The way out took at least thirty minutes, someone always found something else to say. You were sure that you had hugged Sharon at least five times now. “Okay! We’ll be off now!”

Once again you hugged both of her parents, whispering a small ‘Thank you for having us’ in their ears while Katie watched. “Oh get some leftovers, would’ ya?” And with that you were gone again, leaving your girlfriend with her father by the door.

“Do you like her?”

“I think I like her more than you.”

Katie scoffed. She could definitely understand her father, and she was happy that the evening had gone over so well.

Meanwhile, Sharon and you were in the kitchen, making a huge box of leftovers to take home with you. “Thank you for loving my daughter. You were one of us from the moment you started taking care of her.”

“Thank you for giving birth to Katie – and for welcoming me!” Both of you laughed through the tears at your clumsy statement.

You left Katie with her parents, already getting in the car to give them a moment alone. The night was cold and Katie’s coat only did so much to keep you warm, but the box of food still emitted a warmth. Not only because it was still hot, but also because it felt like home.

“I’m gonna be honest my love. Watching you guys together made me glad because I know you have someone when your mum and I leave this earth.” Sharon still had tears in her eyes, and now Katie did too.

“Don’t say stuff like that Dad, make you look old!”

You had just finished playing a game in which Arsenal had won 3-0 against Manchester City. You had officially scored your first hat trick for the club. You had been at Arsenal for seven months now, having made friendships that you knew would last forever. You had gotten especially close with Leah Williamson, Rafaelle Souza, Katie McCabe, and the one and only, Vivianne Miedema.

You walked into the changing room last, most of the team already sitting in the room. Jonas had held you back, telling you that the media wanted a quick interview. You had obliged, but by the time you were back in the changing room, Jonas still wasn’t back. "Hey! There’s the magician!" Leah said, walking up to you and grabbing your face, pressing her forehead to yours and smiling at you wildly. "Thanks, Lee Lee,"you laughed, using the nickname you knew she hated. "I’ll let it slide this time, y/l/n," Leah said, regaining her cubby. The next person to congratulate you, was your secret situationship. You guys weren’t anything specific, just having a little fun. But you knew you wanted more. You wanted her.

Viv high fived you, giving you eyes you both thought no one else would notice. "Oh please, i can’t take it anymore! you guys are high fiving each other as though you haven’t been fucking for like, three months." Katie said.

It was needless to say that Katie’s words sent a shockwave through your body, making you choke and start coughing ridiculously. "Katie, what the hell?" Viv said, a hand on your back as you we’re still doubled over. "Oh come on! I’m saying what everyone’s thinking." Katie said, looking around the room and receiving amused nods from every player. Most of them were obviously trying not to loose it, Gio and Lotte were so red from keeping their laugh in, you thought they were going to pass out.

"Okay, you shits all have two minutes to laugh." You said, glaring at the room.

And thus how the arsenal women’s locker room got louder than it ever was. Most players were crying by the time the two minutes were up. "Are you gonna let us explain now?" Viv asked. "So you’re not denying you’ve been fucking?" Katie asked. "No" Viv said. "Yes." You answered. "Uh oh. Trouble in paradise?" Kim said. "Come on y/n… they know." Viv said, ignoring Kim and looking at you. "Fine. They know. Everyone knows. But how? We were hiding it really well!" You said. "You’re joking? Right?" Manu asked. "Welp. There were three main tellers." She then added.

Three months ago.

It was the night after your first hookup, you had both woken up in a slight panic. You barely spoke to each other, trying your best not too look at each others bodies will putting your training gear back on. You slipped on a pair of shorts and your training jersey, and then mumbled something to Viv before rushing out the door and driving to training.

"Do we say anything?" Leah whispered to Rafa, eyeing the number 11 written on the short you we’re wearing. "Uhm… I don’t know about you but I don’t want to have that conversation with them." Rafa said, Leah and Rafa’s eyes drifting in sync towards Vivianne who was passing the ball with Beth, a clearly visible number 29 on her shorts. "They’re officially hooking up." Leah said, snickering.

The captain and the brazilian had both made the mistake of telling Katie about the shorts incident, and soon enough, Katie had told everyone. But the rest of the team managed to keep in on the down low, telling Katie that if she uttered a word about it to the dutch forward and the swedish midfielder, that they would get Ruesha involved. That was enough to shut up the irish woman.

Two months ago.

The next incident was small, but said so much. Viv’s apartment had the most beautiful floor to ceiling windows in the bedroom, letting the light pour into the room every morning. On one particular sunday, when the London sky was the crispest of blues, Vivianne posted a picture of the sky through her windows, and on the bedside table, we’re three rings. It was known to anyone who had ever been around you while you weren’t in your soccer kit, that you loved rings. Your favorite three were silver, a plain thick silver band, a smaller silver band with a heart, and a zig zaggy ring. The exact three rings from the bedside table.

"They’re actually stupid." Rafa said, the entire team but you both huddled around Leah’s phone and watching the story. "They think they’re slick." Leah added.

"What’s up guys?" you said, walking into the changing room with Viv trailing behind.

Leah basically threw her phone across the room, and the whole team disspersed quickly.

"Just-uhm-" Leah stuttered, scurrying over to the far corner to grab her phone from the floor. Luckily for her, Jonas walked in and started talking about what they would be focusing on in training today.

"Saved by the Jonas." Jen whispered to Leah who had taken her seat back at her spot, glaring at the cracked screen on her phone.

A week ago

It had been a particularly rainy day at training, and you were all completely soaked. You had all showered, enjoying the warm water immensely. You were the last to walk out of the shower, a sports bra on and your shorts riding low. When you walked into the changing room, everyone subtly looked at Viv, waiting to see her reaction. "Hey Viv, can you throw me my hoodie?" You asked at the entrance. "I took the wrong one." You asked, standing in the doorway.

Viv didn’t answer, just seemingly zoned out on your stomach. "Viv!" Manu said, snapping her fingers in the forwards face. "Mhm! Shirt! Yeah!" She said, grabbing your hoodie and tossing it to you. "Thank you." You said, turning away quickly and hoping no one saw your massive blush.

They all saw the blush, and the way Viv’s eyes traced your stomach when you entered the room, and they all definitely saw her eyes on your ass as you walked out the room.

Present day:

The girls had just finished explaining all the reasons why they knew about you and Viv, all of them smiling at you both cheekily.

"I did not give you 'fuck me' eyes" Viv said, turning to you. "Oh you definitely did. You looked like you were trying not to groan every time we changed." Katie teased. "I hate all of you." Viv answered, making you smile at her. "Oh my god! Now y/n’s giving Viv 'fuck me' eyes!" Katie yelled. "I was just smiling at her you leprechaun!" You yelled, throwing your shin pad at her.

And now for something completely different! Y'all, I love alien worlds. I love the terrain painting they usually have and the bizarre landscapes of them. I horde them. So, I will definitely be featuring some of them in world overviews.

This one is one of my favorite alien worlds. It's what I think Lunar Lakes should have been. Its backstory is that it's a human-inhabited ex-mining/prospecting colony on an alien planet, not an alien world inhabited by aliens. So, it's basically familiar sorts of architecture with an exotic backdrop, with a mix of futuristic and grungy. Many of the houses really do give me a vibe of houses that originally were prospector shacks that were haphazardly added on to over time because their layouts are pretty bizarre but yet functional and interesting to look at.

But before we get to that, the relevant info: It's a large, unpopulated world, 2048x2048, but it's built in a pretty compact way, basically in concentric circles on different levels, so it doesn't take forever to get around in it. I'm pretty sure it needs all EPs, and it needs at least a few of the stuff packs, namely Town Life for its grocery rabbithole, and the Katy Perry and Fast Lane packs for deco stuff on various lots. It may need more than that; I suck at identifying this stuff, I'm afraid. Hopefully I'll get better at that as I do these overviews. According to the world's download page the only Store content required is the Lucky Simoleon Casino lot, and so far as I can tell, that's accurate. I think it could have done with some of the Lunar Lakes stuff, but I'm guessing the creator was trying to limit the required Store content. You could always add that stuff yourself.

According to its Exchange page, the world has 41 residential lots and 36 community ones, and I'm assuming that's accurate. I didn't count them. Most of the residential lots are on the small side, many with only one bedroom, but there are also some larger ones with more bedrooms. So while this isn't a world where you'd be able to play lots of large families, if you want to play singles, childless couples, and smaller families, it will work very well.

The world has all spawners except for the Island Paradise and Into the Future ones, but it doesn't have a lot of spawners. Just a few of each of them. (Frankly, I'd add nanite spawners and bot-building facilities, but maybe that's just me.)

The world doesn't have a few things you may or may not want/need it to have:

Military, science, and school rabbitholes.

A fortune teller wagon and a Vault of Antiquity

A library

A festival lot

Consignment shops

A dedicated public pool, though the gym lot has a big pool on it and one of the lots designated as a beach is actually more like a pool.

It does have all the other rabbitholes, including the Into the Future observatory, two fairy arboretums, and multiple diners. The city hall is the ItF one, so if you want the military career available, an easy way to get it would be to use the Transmogrifier mod to turn that into a multifunction city hall/police/military rabbithole. Then, on the lot that currently has a police rabbithole, plunk down a school rabbithole instead. And to fix the lack of SCIENCE!, the world has this big, odd 64x64 park that's mostly concrete (kind of like Hidden Springs's big park) and that only has a little building with restrooms and a small room with a coffeemaker on it. I'm thinking I'd put the ship-shaped science rabbithole from Lunar Lakes there to add science careers to the world.

Oh, and just a note: I took these pictures with this lighting mod in the game (edited so that the moon is super-huge) which I think goes very well with this world's landscaping and overall "feel."

Here are Edit Town and map view of the two main areas in the world. There are a couple other smaller areas, too, but I don't want to do too many pics of this type.

This is the area with most of the rabbitholes. There are also a few parks, a fire station, some residential lots, and the casino lot.

This area has mostly residential lots, but also a fishing spot and a Showtime venue.

Now for some community lots!

This is a fishing spot. It has lots of alien sparklies on it, and it makes the alien sound, too. It's pretty cool. I love the rainbow rocks.

This is supposed to be a mining site, I think. I expected it to have rock/gem spawners, but it doesn't. It does, however, have lots of mushrooms. So if you need a mushroom for, you know, whatever reason.... ;) I'd add rock/gem spawners, though.

This is a dance club, with an Egyptian theme, only in hot pink. Trippy! The world also has a dive bar, an exclusive lounge, and the casino. So, along with the Showtime venues, there's quite a bit of entertainment. Speaking of Showtime venues...

This is a Showtime performance park. There is also the Flying V lot (there's a pic above the cut) and a private venue. So, you can do the Showtime careers in this world, if you like to play them.

This is the back of the junkyard.

This is a cafe lot with a barista and a professional bar, bubble-blowers, and lots of deco from the Katy Perry pack. And that's my Sim blowing bubbles. Just 'cuz.

This is the fire station. And there are lots of other interesting, original (aside from the Store casino lot) community lots, too.

I just love how random they are. All of them are different, all built by the creator of the world and, like I said, they are mostly on the smaller side. Even the larger ones will sometimes have only two bedrooms, so as-is, they aren't really suitable for large families. You could possibly re-partition some of them to make more bedrooms, though. The first pic in this batch is the largest house in this world. It has five bedrooms, while the others have fewer. Overall, there are some very interesting builds in this world.

I am LOVING the furniture brackets!! If it's not too much work, coule you maybe include what games the items are from/in? (Dw about it if it's too much though, the brackets themselves are probably very time consuming already)

I think maybe it is too much work but I'll list all the ones I know without googling here for you. I'm extremely familiar with NH's and NL's catalogue, and I mostly know which items are new to those games, but the older games I'm less sure about. if you wanna know a specific one, nookipedia is pretty good. I pulled all the images I'm using for the NL items from there

for the stand alone items, all of them except balloon dog, snail clock and lovely phone are available in NH

this isn't true 100% of the time, but here is a gist oh how items have progressed through the games:

the original game was developed for N64, and was ported to gamecube in the west. as a result these items have like 6 polygons and needed to be remade for the jump to DS. I believe most items made it to the DS, but I definitely know of a few that didn't make it (rip lovely stereo).

from DS to Wii, many items were ported directly as they were & use the same models (the ones with round parts were mostly remade though), so most items returned. same thing from Wii to 3DS, the 3DS has a tiny screen so the items could be reused again and most items returned. at this point though you can start to really tell the difference between the new and old furniture, since the new stuff has so much more detail and is generally less boxy

from 3DS to Switch EVERY item had to be remade. NH is an HD game and you can't be using models from 2005. as a result, less than half of the items in NL made it to NH (682 out of 1764) and many that did return look noticeably different

Kinda long story and such

The next few hours were a blur within itself. Singing, drinking, laughter, boozes and a few stolen kisses. That was the pattern that rest of the night followed until the next morning. The sun was shining down in between the gray curtains that was peeking out onto her face as she rolled around in bed until she couldn’t find the urge to keep the dream state alive, fluttering her eyes open onto the side tabled to noticed a few crackers and Advil waiting for her. She smiled softly to herself stretching along the bed until her surrounding clicked in, this wasn’t her stationed home offered by the Navy officials, but Bradshaw’s. “Oh my god…” she muttered softly seeing herself dressed in some old pjs that were clearly hers with a oversized sweater laying over it and she laughed at the first realization, “..you little trick.”

JenPen running out across the the two story stationed home, down the staircase onto the first floor as a gushing blushing giggly mess, seeing the kitchen counter out of the concern of her eyes. As she appeared in the doorway of the simply breathtaking small kitchen area, she leaned in to see Bradley flipping pancakes and dressed in nothing but low rise sweatpants, sandals and his unrolling curls popping up in uneven handfuls. Completely shirtless as the sunshine lit up the room from past the windowsill. Gosh, her heart fluttered at the sight as she bite down the bottom of her lips as a pinkish color of blush rose to her cheeks taking a breathtaking view of it all. Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw, her main man was all grin and no sorrow laced onto that face of his. Cupid has struck out well enough.

Bradley glanced up from the pancake he flipped that now cooking on the pan, gently smiling at the girl of his dreams. He let out a sigh of peace and pure joy mixed in, as visions of the night before danced in his head. Bradley’s eyes the lady standing in front of him, in awe as he took her morning glow, pretty eyes and sweet smiling completely barefoot humming softly at the sight.

He grinned waving to her to come over as he flipped another pancake, “Morning beautiful, enjoy your sleep?”

“I..um i slept fine. Did we uh, you know?” She replied, walking over to hug him from behind, humming softly.

“No we did not. You slept in your own guest room and i stayed next door in the other. We were tipsy last night and i drove us over here since my place was closer to the bar.”

“Huh? Makes sense. Last night was..fun. God, was it fun!”

“I know! The only thing that wasn’t fun, was how you kept dancing near the beach and i had to pull you back in.”

“You were the one who ran into the streets near the beach sidewalk, i had to pull you back in.”

He leaned down to kiss her forehead humming softly, “..i missed you.”

“I missed you more..” She replies, leaning into his touch smelling the pancakes and the scent of home that radiated from Bradley’s warmth.

Soon enough breakfast was served as the pair ate at the dinner table that stood across from the kitchen. They stayed in such a comfortable welcoming silence as the clouds moved along the skies causing the sunlight to come in and out of the house outline. The pair talked about last night and the plans for that evening until Bradley brought up a topic from the night asking, “So what are we doing?”

“Uh, eating..?” She asked confused and motioned from him to continue.

“Well no shit.” He said sarcastically mid laugh, “I meant, us! The kiss from last night, the moves we made in the car..we clearly still love-care about each other. Where do we stand?”

“The only reason we’re back together like this is because we are both sent back to Top Gun for work and lessons to take…but after last night, i say we try it out..again?”

“You wanna go out on a date? Back to our old ways.”

She shrugging smiling, “I mean it wouldn’t hurt, seeing my big stud all dressed up to take me dancing again..”

“You can stay with me.” Bradley blurted out loud as a mere muttered.

“What?”

“I mean Mav is clearly on the fence god knows where and I don’t want to be staying here alone too much…i just got you back.”

“You want me to be your roommate for the next few weeks while we’re at Top Gun..?”

“Yeah. I mean, it wouldn’t hurt. It’s not we haven’t shared a roof over our heads before right?” He said the last part smiling.

She chuckled, “Yeah it isn’t. But I ain’t cooking dinner every night!”

“We’ll go out to eat! Or I can cook.”

She muttered joking, “Yeah a burnt chicken…”

“Hey!”

They still had until tomorrow before Top Gun had asked them to return and start working, so the two settled a movie night deciding to watch some actions films and overall a few comedic ones. Bradley and Jen settled on Dumb and Dumber for the comedy movie as the pair burst out laughing at the pure insanity of the film, then they settled on a Disney film. Tangled. They nuzzled up close and tightly having popcorn surrounded around them from the previous movie as they watched the animated film with ease, the film held such a significants to them since it was a movie Bradley took to see on a date night years ago. So you can only imagine the memories that flew around the living room as the filmed played.

The room was dark and the light of the tv screen was the only thing shining upon them, bringing light to every feature that crossed JenPen’s face. Her eyes shining their dark green, almost a heavy brown color as her hair was a slightly curled mess and the light bit of makeup she had lit up her cheekbones. Bradley couldn’t only see the beauty and grace she held behind those eyes as he leaned down, cupping her gently as his lips brushed across hers with such love and care. She returned the blushed kiss with such ease and soften force lacing up fingers against his chin mumbling a mere whisper of an “I love you…” thinking he wouldn’t hear it but he did. A smile creeped his lips whispering back into his own words, “I do too..”

But nothing lasts as romantic and joyful forever. Because the next day became like hell. Rooster woke up early to head out to the base and prepare for flight lessons, not before leaving a few soft kisses along JenPen’s face as she stayed curled against the sheets asleep. Rooster met up with Phoenix and the others in the halls while Jen snaked down the hallway to find Amber waiting in the wings grinning. Both girls screamed in joyful applause at each other hugging and gushing about their nights.

Amber spoke catching her breath, “Wait wait wait—wait wait let me get this straight, you and Gosling a.k.a. Goose’s son met again, the stars have a alined and the heavens have parted their ways, that’s amazing! I leave you alone for three and so days. Mitchell, you are on cloud 9 and i gotta bring you back down.”

She scoffed chuckling, “Oh please, Iceman’s daughter! You got the biggest shit in grin on your face and the only way you will act, like this way is if you’re holding back a surprise. What did you do the last two days and who is the lucky fella?”

Amber blushed swaying side to side whispering in the younger on the two ear, “Hangman, I’ve met the Ken Doll himself.”

Jen gasped jumping a bit and waves her hands in excitement, “You fell for the southern soul cocky soul that is Hangman! Oooh you got it down bad, Kazansky! Does he know that your coming here today?”

“Nope! And no one knows about the surprise about the instructor himself either.”

Kazansky gave Mitchell a pointed look that both of them read as both eyes widened. They knew about the instructor and it’s one of the reasons they were called back to Top Gun together but they weren’t ready for the impact that would lead to all of them yet. The two were cut off as Admiral Bate’s deep voice from all the classrooms caught everyone off guard as he introduced so called Daggers the recruiting woman in white, Amber “Skysolo” Kazansky to the group. Bradley grinned with excitement while Jake smiled softly in shock. JenPen stood in the wings away from the group dressed in green bomber jacket as the man of the hour arrived. Bate said it loud and clear, “Captain Pete Mitchell, CALLSIGN Maverick.” Some smiles were dropped and a few embarrassed winces were heard the group.

This wasn’t gonna be pretty. Bradley held a grudge against Maverick for pulling his paperwork that week, it’s was the week—the month that broke the pair up in the first place. JenPen watched in her flight gear with a hand against her plane seeing the pair speak, as she held a breath glancing over to Amber, Jake and Natasha who watch the showcase of the family speaking to one another. Soon enough they were officially in the air, taking turns to bring down Maverick and Jenny, who played along with flight training. She wasn’t as fast or skilled as her father but she was daringly strong. The girl knew that line ‘Don’t Think. Just Do!’ Because once your up there, you don’t have time to think. If you think, your dead, it’s all about taking calculated chances and hoping for the best entirely once you’re in the sky. She took down a few of the Lieutenants with ease as her dad took out the others.

She caught Payback and Fanboy smirking, “Target locked! You’re out boys. Nix your next!”

“Shit! Bob where are they?!” Phoenix yelled chuckling.

The rest of the gang flew around and trying to catch onto the Mitchell family, mostly Maverick who was the main instructor and she was just help when possible, but failed quickly reaching down to do push-ups with Amber and Hondo. The grunts and grumbling were heard from all of them. Rooster kept his push ups even after Amber told him to stop and Phoenix went to talk to him, asking about what happened up their in the skies with Maverick. He was reluctant but told her anyway and she questioned his motives. JenPen was outside the base sitting on of the benches to get some fresh air rubbing her eyes as Bradley walked past her grumbling.

She caught onto him hesitant to grab his arm shouting softly, “Hey, hey, hey Brad! Look what at me…talk to me.”

He wiped his head towards her clearly fuming, “I can’t! You knew about his returned?!”

“Of course i had a feeling!”

“Oh god—JEN! WHY?! Why didn’t you say anything to me?”

“ME SAY SOMETHING TO YOU?! Since when is that my problem?”

“BECAUSE! We’re a team, silly! Bradshaw and Mitchell, come on now.”

“I thought he was gonna bail on this mission or something, i was barley told anything about his full return until this morning Bate announced it to the class. I wasn’t even told about the circumstances of this situation until today. ”

“I can’t blame you, you fully didn’t know either. So it was classified. No one they didn’t tell us, or you. But Amber clearly knew!”

“Hey, don’t bring her into this, okay! Ice gave her this assignment and you know how the Navy gets with keeping this hush hush until they can tell us…i tried asking him or her, but it was ignored.”

“I-I-I-UGH! This is what i was afraid of! Back to our old ways and we have to deal with this bullshit all over again. Remember what happened last time we talked about the Navy and our careers?! It broke us up!”

Jen took a step back hearing his words knowing what he meant was true and it caused to them not see each other for the longest time until this week. Rooster was about to continuously rant about how he felt but he stopped shortly as flashbacks to the night of those papers being pulled, rushed to this head. Yes, they couldn’t blame their parents and there must’ve been a reason for those papers being pulled that day but they will never know what it truly was. The heats was getting to them and the toughness of the first training exercises in the air today took them all out of breath.

“I know that Roo! I know it did..but it can be different this time. I want it to be different. Talk to dad—my dad I mean…” She said getting closer, gently holding his hand.

He looked down and sighed, giving her hand a squeeze, “I don’t know..I can’t, not after what happened. I need time to think!..but i want it to different.”

“Okay, that’s a start. And for the recorded, you did good out there today..”

“I tried, no one can keep up with Maverick, we both know this. We just need time to get to the swing of things…”

“I saw that all of you were talking and bickering up the air, not as a team but as individuals. Whatever is it, you guys need to be put in check..”

“We will figure it out and I can’t be mad at my teammates..not all of them at least.”

She joked to lighten up the mood, “Yeah, Phoenix and Bob kicked your ass.”

“No they did not!” He laughed lightly, pulling her into his side.

The pair went home to their shared stationed home annoyed about the day they had and extremely tired from everything. They knew it wouldn’t be easy the next few days but as long as they had each other, they could face it together and hopefully rewrite their history the best way possible. As for Maverick, he was determined to make this ragtag group of hot shot pilots until a team who can play together on the same field instead of apart weather they like it or not.

SPEAKEASY REVIEW!!!

Speakeasy is an otome/VN set in the 1920s, where you play as Evelyn Cora West(The MC goes by her middle name, which can be changed), a (totally not spoiled) rich girl, who's attempting to escape her parents forcing her into an arranged marriage. In her escape, she meets Vincent Harlowe, and visits his Speakeasy. On just her second day visiting, she applies for a job. What job? Well, that all depends on the route.

Speakeasy has A LOT of trigger warnings including(and not limited to, please check the game's store page before buying) sexual content, domestic abuse, suicide, violence, drugs, and MORE! Please be aware of what can hurt your heart before reading!

Based on what I played, I'd give the game a solid 4 stars! For more in-depth review, please check below <3

P.S. the MC doesn't have to be white! You can choose the color of your characters skin!

Milo's Route

Milo is the supposed "coat check boy" of the Speakeasy. Obviously, from one look at him, he's not. Milo is Vincent's adopted son(?), and handles various parts of the Speakeasy.

SPOILERS FOR THE ROUTE BELOW!

Milo's route was very sweet, in my opinion! Though Vincent is an asshole in this route, a lot of the character's personalities are different in each route. I only got the Speakeasy and Happy end for this route. The Speakeasy end is a mutually abusive relationship, with MC developing a choking kink. The happy end ends with Milo taking over the Speakeasy himself, with MC as his co-owner. He's personally not my cup of tea, but, I can see the appeal. NSFW scenes were alright in my opinion, I don't got a lot to say about 'em.

Silas' Route

Silas is the animal tender in the Speakeasy! A complete gentle giant, with terrifying tattoos-- which might put you off, but please do remember the setting of this game! It's the 1920s! Tattoos are seen as something to look down upon back then. As much as I can't see it, try to take it in the mind of our judgemental society!

OH MY GOD. I would DIE for this sweetheart. He's an absolute cutie-patootie. I guarantee this man will look at MC like she makes the world go round. Silas is oh so sweet and the EPITOME of gentle giant! I love men who look like they could crush my skull with their bare hands but in reality are too sweet to even think about it! Hell, in other routes, HE IS STILL THE SWEETEST THING! Being an animal lover myself, this was the first route I did. And I loved it. Silas is a sweetheart, and the way he's viewed in the world is heartbreaking. I want nothing more than to hold his hand. He ALMOST makes me reconsider my decision to not have biological children. I got all three endings for this route, including the Happy end, Speakeasy end, and the Tragic end. The happy end is definitely my favorite, but my kinky ass is still down for the Speakeasy end. The tragic end is, well, tragic, but at least they're happy! Better than the other ends, haha. The NSFW scenes are sweet! And you get to take his virginity, which I won't complain about. ;)

Dahlia's Route

Dahlia is the right hand (wo)man of Vincent, as well as the fortune teller of the Speakeasy! Dahlia is the only sapphic route in the game. She's kinda a bitch, but don't let that deter you! She's a sweetheart deep down.

SPOILERS FOR ROUTE BELOW!

Ermmmm... this route is kind of gay. Oh my god, Dahlia is so cute. The way she blushes when she's caught pampering Momo and Katie? Adorable. The way she melts for MC and almost nobody else? Adorable. I would destroy the system just to marry this woman. That's all I have to say. We love her. NSFW scenes are horny, but all lesbians are. I only got the Happy end for this route, and I quite enjoyed it. I want to kiss every inch of her burn scars. <3

Will's Route

Will is... well, I don't really know how to describe him. He's a guest of the Speakeasy... and that's about it. Honestly, I didn't enjoy his route very much. He's not my type. I don't have much to say about him!

Besides one NSFW scene where he strokes it to the thought of MC, this man had me dryer than the Sahara. Like I said, he's not my cup of tea. I'm sure he's someone's type! Just not mine. I got both the Happy end and the Tragic end (TW) in which the MC kills herself, but, it felt like that IS how it should have gone down? This MF wasn't even down to run away until he learned we're someone of good station. Fuck this guy!

Maxim (and Nika's) Route

Maxim is the dance instructor for the Speakeasy! He's strict and kinda an asshole, it seems, but, that attracts most women! Nika... who the fuck is Nika? That guy with the fur boa..? Didn't we only see him for like, a second? This is the one polyamorous route in the game!

Oh my GOD I love my Russian husbands. First of all- I CAN FIX THEM. I love that the MC pushes them to be better, and that in the happy end, Nika starts a ballet school and Maxim gets to chase his dreams. We don't talk about the tragic end. It was, well, tragic. AHEM. Anyway. AND THE NSFW SCENES??? So hot. 10/10. Gay sex has no right to be so attractive?? Like, what the hell? Also, to add- I love when Max speaks in Russian to the MC! It just melts my heart.

Vincent's Route

Vincent is the big bad mafia boss that I'm sure most of you ladies are drooling for! Not my type, though. But the MC sees him as a knight in shining armor, so, surely nothing can go wrong there, yes?

SPOILERS FOR THE ROUTE BELOW!

I did NOT like this route. The character was sweet and the writing was great, but this route does what a lot of VNs do. The main guy gets a better and more in-depth ending than anyone else. You get to see his and MC's wedding and all that jazz, while the rest of that is skipped for the other characters in their respective endings. I do not appreciate it. While Vincent is nice, he's also a bit of a dick. I, personally, have never been in love, so, I probably don't understand very well- but he is not the kind of man I'd fall for OR put up with his shit. The NSFW scenes were pretty good, to their credit- though the toe-sucking scene was kinda... ehh? Not for me.

And that's all the routes! My only complaints are, as mentioned with Vincent's route, that he gets a more in-depth ending than the other characters, and that there is no Momo route. I would destroy the world for the sweet tiger. Platonically, I mean.

I recommend playing this game if you're looking for a VN with darker themes and NSFW scenes. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
