Andrew’s hand on the back of his neck pushes down, and Neil goes easily, tipping his head forward and bending down so Andrew can get a good look at his hair.

Bright, vibrant orange. Too bright to really be comfortable, but Neil is learning to stand out in the crowd. He’s going to have to get used to it some time or other.

Orange. Fox orange, the color of his home and his family. Only a few shades and yet miles from his father’s auburn.

Andrew studies it for a long moment, and Neil lets him look his fill.

Finally, his grip loosens. “Obsessive.”

Neil smirks. “You like it.”

So I fucked up my measurements (makes sense. I was super sleepy and had a gut feeling my estimates were off) so I DO have to make 9 full squares. Kinda. But!! My first full square is finally finished and I even got 1/4 of the next square done so I'm feeling pretty good!

1. neil (i might be biased but likeee nora said her cast for him is young chace crawford?? NOBODY is beating his face card on god fr prettiest boy)

4. kevin/jeremy (i literally can’t choose bc they both seem to me celebrity level hot kinda guys. like they’re picture perfect etc etc)

6. andrew/aaron (aaron gotta have something going on to pull a baddie like katelyn but andrew is the hotter twin in my eyes bc he’s much stronger or it’s just the neil pov effect)

cw: vague implication of thanksgiving, character death (after a long happy life)

they both keep their hair on the longer side, but it’s never long enough to be in their eyes.

their hair is thick. they have a lot of it. their hair is so light that people think they bleach it. 

aaron’s hair grays before andrew’s does. but when their hair starts thinning in their sixties, andrew’s noticeably thins first.

they are not a “get together for the holidays” family. they will every few years, but it’s not something they do consistently until they’re in their forties. 

aaron and neil’s relationship is more likely to “ruin christmas” than andrew and katelyn’s.

andrew is a “meet you where you are” person. he will rarely call aaron to just chat. if they speak on the phone, aaron almost always has to call andrew. andrew does text aaron often though. 

however, they speak on their birthday every year. 

their other “yearly call” is a “check in” around the first week of december, where they very awkwardly ask about work/spouses/the weather. 

it’s usually a short call, just long enough to make sure the other made it through the thanksgiving season.

it’s never planned, it’s never discussed prior, it’s just whenever one of them decides to pick up the phone and call. it’s the only exception to andrew’s “i don’t call first rule.” 

aaron outlives andrew.

he was not ready for the intense grief and constant ache that would come with losing his brother for good.

watching neil grieve andrew is harder than aaron thought it would be. aaron is not surprised when he has to bury neil beside andrew a year later
