As long as dissatisfied and anxious, instead of happy and peaceful, humans contribute to the consumption we can't even look into the right direction of the problems to get to the truth. In that kind of societies where humans keep problems rather than solve them because (making and inventing) problems make money we can't get to the core of truths about life and living.
The other day, when I asked why my research about a strong immune system based on happiness, playfulness, and peacefulness was turned down, one doctor replied: "Katarina, nobody wants healthy people. What medicine and pharmacy would do with healthy people? You can't make money with such people."
With such a worldview, no core truth in medicine or in any field can be revealed.

My books (Living and Love, its Origin and Modifications Through Time) available to download (in English, Spanish, German).
Book Living tackles (consists of) the following topics: what does a good and virtuous life consist of? What is friendship? What are love and sexuality? What is happiness? Is there, in fact, a truth to be found? What are the roles of education, science, technology and diplomacy? How does one lead a peaceful and abundant life in these times when so many differences and preferences exist? And most importantly, what, actually, is life itself and how can it be lived in its most 'essential' ways?!

Wasn't I pretty when I was young? The irony is I thought I was fugly. It may have had something to do with philosophy regarding looks and beauty as superficial and shallow.
Now when I'm older, and fat I think of myself as fugly again, lol.

Another: how does something unfold in the long run (longue durée) (speaking of 12 years)? I made 3 screenplays for the feature films and 3 screenplays for the short films. People (producers and some female directors) kept telling me that they were not good enough, in fact, some producers told me that they were boring, cliche and superficial, and then finally this week someone from the profession told me that what I was told for all those years was simply not true.
That my scenes are believable, that I have good dialogs, and that my short film is cute!!!
How she read my screenplay so differently from before is 'a mystery' to me. It seems that I simply didn't meet the right people before.

Finally, understand Socrates' "Know thyself". It simply means to be aware of your assumptions, judgments, beliefs, biases and prejudices on most important things and people, such as what is a partnership for you, what type of government you believe in, what kind of work you like, do you believe justice include anger and retribution, do you believe animals deserve love, empathy, compassion etc. and how these influences your everyday interactions, work, leisure. Sometimes it takes a lot of time, work and experience to fully acknowledge and accept yourself.
I just had a revelation that I haven't changed much in the area of friendship and partnership for the last 20 years although I thought I made some progress and gained experiences, haha. I understand now what Freud is talking about with his "ego is not master in its own house".
People mostly write quotations by well-known thinkers but rarely add their insights and life experiences to those thoughts and even rarely provide their innovative thoughts on something.

Pluto II
Why do I truly dislike Pluto? Except for the known toxic Ploy's narrative (a long time before the main protagonists become lovers only to break up a few seconds later and reunite in the end), there was too little kissing, affection and passion as I already said. If it were 10 episodes it would be better.
But another important thing is that lesbians from all over the world on the L Chat (lesbian chat forum) were rumbling pages and pages about how awful it was that twin sister Ai-oon had to choose between either her twin sister Ob-oom or her lover, May. She chose her twin sister and gave up her lover.
When I mentioned that I had a similar experience when the father (who was deeply religious and in right-wing politics) of my ex-gf gave her an ultimatum to choose between me and him and while she chose me I had to put up with what that did to her (she became depressed and I was blamed that she lost her primary family by her mother and father), that's why I broke up with her in order she was reunited with her family.
That happened 15 years ago and we haven't spoken a single word since then and I've been single since. It was painful for me, all more because my exgf found a new gf 2 weeks after the break-up but at the same time I was relieved because I wasn't wrongly blamed for the things I didn't do anymore (for instance I was blamed that I was lead her into lesbianism) ...
But what truly astonished me was that I didn't get a single reply to my post on the L chat! I thought these lesbians who ruminate for pages about fictional unfairness while being unemphatic of a real-life experience lack something profound and that's humanity. I don't want to have anything to do with either that fictional story or those lesbians from Pluto forum on the L chat.

Soon to be published! My translation of the most famous living female philosopher Martha C. Nussbaum into Slovene. First translation of any Nussbaum's book into Slovene. The title is Anger and Forgivness and suggested by Nussbaum herself. I've 'known' Nussbaum through email correspondence over 25 years.

I again watched the French sci-fi series Missions about a woman (a psychologist by profession) from another planet (an entirely different alien species) who is the key to interdimensional travel, the evolution of the various species (also humans), and parallel universes.
In this series, you can find well-known notions about Atlantida (also mentioned by Plato), Annunaki, parallel universes, the first humans on Mars, telepathic communication, synchronicity, star gates, and super-intelligent AI.
Interestingly, Missions and the 3-body problem express the same resentment towards the human species. If 3-body problem portrays humans as almost an evil species towards the whole earth's ecosystem Missions address this same aspect from the perspective of being a fragile species making the same mistakes over and over again and nothing learning from them (greed, violence, envy, competition, immediate gratification ...) which leads the main protagonist to decide that human species is not worth saving.
But the main difference is that technological progression is not the main theme of the sci-fi, interpersonal relations are and their influence on the evolution of the entire race. The same is true with another French sci-fi series Ad Vitam about the future where humans discovered how to rejuvenate themselves endlessly.
My opinion is that the French make the best sci-fi series, series that make you think, are about relations and not only enjoying the technological progress and cgi.

Plato's theory of the Sun (as truth, beauty, good): there is something that Plato got right - seeing and sight has something to do with the truth. Visuals are immensely appealing to people (in all sorts of ways).
The brain consumes twice as much energy when reading compared to watching. Reading a book uses many brain areas and watching a movie, photography, or painting relatively few. This is partly because books have grammar, punctuation, and complex ideas you must use your brain to ingest.
That's why you see all these attractive beautiful people in movies - they are instant pull into the movie.

How does something unfold in the long run (longue durée) (speaking of 26 years)?
If you're young, capable, hard-working, productive and ambitious but you're not a pusher, don't belong to a certain group of people, you're not an activist and don't quarrel and destroy your opponents on your way to the position of the managing editor of the Leftist academic Journal you want?
With years passing by your opponents:
a) get older and get better jobs with a better salary;
b) grow tired of the position they wanted and acquired;
c) too little money to fight for therefore they go elsewhere;
d) In the end, there is no opposition but also almost no people to work with. That's how you get the position of managing editor. You work with two people and little money.
While I fought for this position in 2006 and in 2012 but got only it in 2023! I got the managing editor position in 2008 of the Andragogic Perspectives (https://journals.uni-lj.si/AndragoskaSpoznanja) and apokalipsa.si 2021 (apokalipsa.si).
It makes me sad that I became managing editor of the leftist academic and activist Journal (https://ckz.si/en/) only when almost no people wanted to work for the Journal.
That is the reality of this world regardless of the political orientation.
The moral is: where is money, there is a crowd, quarrels, shaming, and fights!
And idealism is mostly for young people.

We live in a shallow world. I used to be shallow too, especially regarding girlfriends (I valued their beauty and family background over their brain, hard work and goodness - hopefully, I learned about that too).
This shows that philosophers aren't any different from the rest of the world, and that's why there are so many conservative Slovenian philosophers who are prone to greed for power, fame, and money while they talk about Socrates' modesty and unwillingness to take money for his services and mocking fame.
