A: Good afternoon. Today we’ll be going over chapters 1-5 of-

Y: Straight to the point like that? No introduction?

A: …We need an introduction?

Y: Well, duh. Good afternoon was a good start, I guess.

A: Don’t be a smartass. Anyways, I’m Alhaitham and this is Yn. Per Professor Lisa’s request, we are making these videos to help with the understanding of Stellar Lunar.

Y: In each episode we will be providing insight and notes on the characters, plot, symbolism, among other things.

A: Satisfied?

Y: I guess.

A: Whatever. Let’s begin with the characters…

Y: Because Kataleya is a character that represents passion and assertive emotions, it makes sense that Damian, her literary foil, represents-

A: How can you tell she represents passion so early on?

Y: The author frequently highlights her clothes and various surroundings as red. She even says ‘in the whirlwind of my mind’s eye, he is painted red’, in reference to Damian. Don’t tell me you missed that?

A: Of course not, I just thought the listeners should hear your reasoning.

Y: Sure, sure, of course.

A: Tch, just continue.

A: As Damian’s sanity begins to crumble, we can see that the narrator begins to become unreliable. Until now, the narration was strictly in the 3rd person, but now it begins to be 1st person, from Damian’s point of view.

Y: So, what about when the narration is in 1st person from Kataleya’s point of view? She is stable at this point, but the narration is… questionable.

A: I don’t think she is stable. From the beginning, she has routinely exhibited behaviors that point to psychosis. In fact, it is only once Damian is with her that he begins to spiral.

Y: …Interesting.

A: Your ‘opinion’ is wrong. There is nothing ‘romantic’ about this story.

Y: How can you say that? Damian sees from the beginning that Kataleya is psychotic and rather than leaving her, he ventures into depths of depravity with her!

A: You mean he lets her drive him to madness?

Y: No, I mean he literally says her mind is like the stars, something vast and beautiful from afar, but terrifying up close and yet he still stays with her!

A: But he also says that he’s been caught in a black hole he can no longer leave. He doesn’t want to go mad!

Y: No one wants to go mad, but he wants to stay with her!

A: Is this seriously the hill you’re going to die on?

Y: Fucking hell- it’s an interpretation, Alhaitham! So yes, I am!

Y: We should edit this part out…

A: Why?

Y: What do you mean why? We just spent the last five minutes arguing?

A: No, it was a debate with sources and different perspectives. I suppose someone could benefit from this.

Full Name: Kataleya

Fandom: Genshin Impact

Kataleya was born in Fontaine to a Fontainian mother and an Inazuman father. She was their second child, with an older brother, Cedric. They were a happy family when she was young, but unfortunately, their happiness was not to last. When she was fifteen, her mother died from a severe illness. Heartbroken, her father could no longer bear to live in Fontaine, and moved the three of them to Inazuma to be closer to his family. They then became trapped there after the Sakoku Decree took place.

Kata and her family fought with the Resistance during Inazuma's civil war, defending their ancestral homeland and its people from the Vision Hunt Decree. This, too, would prove disastrous for the little family. Her father lost his life protecting his children, holding off the shogunate army so they could escape. After the loss of their father, her brother Cedric would accept a Delusion from the Fatui in order to protect his little sister, draining his life force in the process. Kata wouldn't find out until it was too late and the damage was already done. She begged him to stop using it, but he lied when he promised her he would - he couldn't risk losing her, too.

She has a cryo vision with the ability to heal. This, too, she gained in a painful way - her brother took a hit for her during a fight, resulting in a mortal wound. As she cradled his bleeding body in the middle of the battlefield, desperately trying to keep him alive, she was bestowed a vision in her hour of need. As a result of the miracle, she not only kept him alive, but healed him as good as new - the wound that should have killed him not so much as leaving a scar. No one else would die fighting for the Resistance as long as she was present.

Unfortunately, there was one thing that she couldn't heal… time itself. They won the war, but she lost the one thing she had left shortly afterwards, as her rapidly-aging brother passed away as a result of using the Delusion.

Distraught and desperate for a way out, she did the very thing her father had done years ago - she buried her family and fled the country as soon as the Sakoku Decree was lifted, returning to Fontaine lost and alone.

She did some odd jobs to keep herself alive for a short time before stumbling across Lyney and Lynette's magic show. She was immediately smitten with the magician, and drew the two of them in her sketchbook during the performance. After the show, she approached Lyney with her art, asking if they needed someone to do marketing for them. He hired her on the spot - much to the displeasure of Lynette, who wasn't consulted. She made art of the magicians, designing posters and fliers advertising for them, and their shows became more popular than ever before. She soon worked her way up, helping with prop design, and eventually she would become their prop manager, working tirelessly from the sidelines to ensure everything runs smoothly and safely.

In the meantime, she slowly won Lynette over with her bright personality and the way she cared for both the magicians and the set - as well as the abundance of tea and snacks she provided. She would also win over Freminet in a similar fashion, often joining him in the audience while the twins practiced their magic.

Several months of ceaseless flirting later, Lyney would finally make a move and ask her out, in part because Lynette talked him into it after growing tired of hearing him talk about Kata all the time. They made the perfect pair, but there was one slight problem… Kataleya didn't know that Lyney was part of the Fatui. The truth came out during the trial after the disastrous performance, shocking her to her core. It took him quite some time (and several comedic attempts at apologizing) to earn her trust back, but eventually, she was convinced that not all of the Fatui were bad people. She's still wary of Arlecchino and the other Harbingers, but she trusts Lyney and his siblings with her life.

She is often the only person that sees Lyney without the cheerful mask he's constantly wearing, as he refuses to show even his siblings the darker side of him, believing he must be strong for them. Now that he's promised to never lie to Kata again, however… all it takes is a little gentle coaxing before the truth comes spilling out, often with tears following. At first, he felt incredibly ashamed by this, but eventually he began accepting her comfort, letting her see him vulnerable because he knew she wouldn't leave or judge him. They have an incredibly deep level of trust for one another.

Khadasiah “Sia” Blaisie is one of the newest recruits to the Intelligence Unit. Her and Sergeant Hank Voight have gotten close in her time working for him, forming a sexual/romance filled relationship that no one else knows about. Before working for Chicago P.D., Khadasiah told Intelligence that her, her sister, and their friend (all who work for Intelligence currently) met and grew their skills in Boston P.D.’s homicide unit. This is where Alvin Olinsky met and befriended Sia when he was on a business trip there. No one in the Intelligence Unit knows her true status, all of it being classified.

Khadasiah Blaisie, also known as Special Agent 722, is a CIA Special Operative. She handled major undercover cases in France. Russia, Switzerland, Canada, and England. She is still formally a CIA agent, but has chosen to do regular police work as of right now. She knows that one day her past will come back to bite her in the ass, especially the one she left in France. The directors made her codename “Muse” for the fact that she is an image of inspiration and intelligence, and always gets the job done. They But she is glad that she is in Chicago and can put it behind her for the time being.

Adelina “Addy” Bishop is a Massachusetts born former paralegal who works as a detective under Hank Voight in the Intelligence Unit. She was recruited due to Khadasiah Blaisie’s recommendation to Commander Perry, who unequivocally placed her in the unit alongside Sia. No one except them knows that they worked together before being assigned to Chicago, and they intend on keeping it that way. Hank often pairs her with Detective Antonio Dawson, and they have maintained a playful yet flirty relationship in the months that Addy has been in Intelligence.

Adelina Bishop, also known as Special Agent 446, is a CIA Special Operative. Like Agent Blaisie, she has handled major international undercover crimes, some of them also bring homebound in the United States. Her family is assured complete safety from the federal government, and her supervisor reassigned her to work in Chicago PD until they needed her for another case. Her codename is Pandora because of how much of a protector she is. She has a guardian-like persona and feels defeated when someone she cares about gets hurt.

Kataleya “Kat” Blaisie is the last of the theee newest recruits. Along with her older sister, she worked in Boston (Narcotics, although Sia worked in Homicide) before being transferred to Chicago. Since Olinsky is one of the last “old-timers”, Sia was a bit hesitant when Voight partnered them up, mainly because Kataleya is black and a female. Even though they bicker often because they were both so headstrong, Al genuinely cares about her. Even though he is trying to patch things up with his wife, him and Kat shared a steamy exchange during an undercover mission and they nearly continued after work hours. Kataleya is good police and always looks out for her older sister.

Kataleya Blaisie, also known as Special Agent 817, is a CIA Special Operative. Many of her major undercover cases were in England, France, South America, and Australia. She has versed herself in american-bound crimes and how they compare to their international counterparts. Her codename is Baby due to how many times she was called that undercover due to her age appearance. She was called once to pose as an estranged duchess in order to identify an assassin wanting to take a hit on a royal family. Kataleya wants to completely forget her undercover gigs and focus on her future at CPD. She eventually wants to leave the CIA and start a family, but she knows something bad will keep her from it.

Since Burgess and Ruzek are a thing, I didn’t want to make him a ship. These three will be my main characters in doing short stories, imagines, one shots, and other things with Chicago PD. This information will be updated once I get better templates for the CIA dossiers, but this information is crucial to the short story i’m writing about them. It was originally supposed to be only Hank and Sia, but I decided to expand it.

As she looked down at the object that landed in her lap, she looked back up to see the person that had either thrown it at her to get her attention or dropped it by accident.. Or even possibly threw it towards her by accident. “I think you might want this” she laughed softly as she held it up towards the person in front of her. “What are you up to, besides tossing things into my lap?” she teased.

Annual Palm Beach Pride’s Theme Highlights ’50 Years of Pride’

On March 30th and 31st, Compass Community Center will host their annual Palm Beach Pride at Bryant Park in Lake Worth. The festival is expected to draw over twenty thousand people to town for the weekend’s ever-expanding number of events and activities, which include the annual Pride Parade through downtown Lake Worth, a “Youth Village” that is available to families on both days, delicious international cuisines, and world-class entertainment.

Palm Beach Pride’s theme is “50 Years of Pride” which is a recognition of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, the event largely honored as the beginning of the modern LGBTQ rights movement.

This year, for the first time, Compass is partnering with the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County to create a unique piece of art that will serve as the backdrop of Palm Beach Pride’s stage. Rolando Chang-Barrero of The Box Gallery in West Palm Beach submitted the winning entry which will feature members of the community consistent with the 50 Years of Pride theme, and the festival will feature more art and artists than ever before, all around the park.

Another exciting addition this year’s Pride festivities is an expanded family fun area, or “Youth Village”, made possible by a partnership with South Florida Family Pride. Compass also welcomes Big Dog Ranch and XXX, with dogs available for adoption all weekend.

“One thing that sets our Pride apart from others is how family-friendly it is. We hope everyone enjoys the festival, including families with children,” Amanda Canete, Compass’ youth program director, explains. Compass’ youth group participants will be at the festival, volunteering at the youth village and raising funds for their upcoming Equality Prom and Lavender Graduation.

Palm Beach Pride is possible thanks to major sponsors such as CAN Community Health, ViiV Healthcare and PNC Bank. Attendees will be able to enjoy the festival on the water, visiting over 100 vendors and enjoying a variety of great food options, adult beverages for those old enough to partake, and two full day of high energy entertainment. Compass members can take advantage of perks at the members tent, and free HIV testing will be available to all, thanks to our partners at AIDS Healthcare Foundation.

The list of entertainers this year is exciting and diverse. Saturday will feature numerous local performers, including drag queens and musicians, and local celebrities from the KVJ show on 97.9 WRMF. World-renowned DJ Citizen Jane will be spinning throughout the day between shows. Emcees Melissa St. John and RaeJean Cox will be back to entertain for the weekend, too. Sunday’s headliners include openly gay rap artist Cazwell whose True Color Tour, featured on Logo, traveled to 15 cities in North America benefiting the Human Rights Campaign, PFLAG and The Matthew Shepard Foundation. Compass is also thrilled to feature Robin S, whose hits “Luv 4 Luv ” and “Show Me Love” hits peaked #1 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music/Club Play and Hot Dance Singles and topped the charts in R&B/Hip-Hop Singles and the Billboard Hot 100.

This year’s parade will feature pioneer members of the local LGBTQ community, many of whom are participants in Compass’ Legacy Project. The Project is an intergenerational storytelling program that features mature members of our community being interviewed by LGBTQ Youth. Also featured will be Miss Palm Beach Pride 2019, Kataleya Davenport Dupree.

Tickets are for each day of the festival are $8 until Thursday, March 28, and $10 starting on Friday, March 29. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Compass, the Book Cellar, Studio 205, Rooster’s, The Mad Hatter, Penny’s at the Duke, and Fort Dix. Compass Community Center is Palm Beach County’s only LGBTQ Community Center and works to diminish stereotypes by challenging long-standing misconceptions about the character of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community. Without a doubt, Palm Beach Pride exists as an important component of Compass’ efforts to create a safe place to live and allows for more effective local advocacy. The event has now grown from a small gathering to one of the largest festivals in South Florida.
