15 year long nap: 1962 Porsche 356 BT6 Super 90 Hardtop Coupé
Slate Gray 6201 should be the color code of this rare 356 BT6 in its least appreciated version (but only at the time of presentation), now its collector interest is high. It has never been clear to us why the Porsche management of the time decided to produce this strange hybrid, neither coupé nor cabriolet and which, after all, was nothing more than a Cabriolet with its hardtop welded on (in the…

2023 Mini Convertible Seaside Edition!
The Mini Convertible is now 30 years old, and Mini is introducing a special-edition model in the U.S. to celebrate.
The original fixed-roof Mini launched in 1959, but a convertible version didn't arrive until the early 1990s. The first factory Mini convertible debuted at the 1992 British Motor Show in Birmingham, U.K., where it was billed as the "world's smallest four-seat convertible."
Produced by German contract manufacturer Karmann, the original Mini convertible went on sale in 1993 and continued through 1996, with 1,081 examples built. BMW revived the convertible when it relaunched the Mini brand at the turn of the century, and a drop-top has been a part of the Mini lineup ever since.

Volkswagen Polo GTI Cabrio Concept, 2007, by Karmann. A prototype convertible version of the 4th generation Polo presented at the Frankfurt Auto Show. It had several innovative features including a glass sunroof set into the canvas top and a sliding rear window that went some way to retaining the hatchback Polo's versatility. However VW weren't interested in an open-roof version of their small hatchback so the project didn't progress beyond prototype stage.
