Guys imagine...
It's 11:59 PM in the night of Sunday
The alleys are dark
Demons in human skin are laughing
Women are being raped
Protestors are doing candle marches
An old lady, very old, watches the TV with horro in her eyes and folds her palms, looks at the small Laddoo Gopal ki murti in her Pooja Home and says, "Ab to aao Girdhar Gopal, kabse aas lagaye hai." (atleast now come, Girdhar Gopal. We await you to to come {and annihilate evil}.)
Away from all this at a small house near a river, the loud cries of a woman rattled the whole house as she pushed at her stomach, the pain being unbearing as she cried out for help, the midwives helping her. Lightning started to crackle in the sky, heavy rain started pouring down with lightning and lightning, the river was in full swing.
With a final cry the pain subsided, her face drenched in sweat and tears as she felt herself fainting, when her eyes were snapped open as she felt something on her chest.
"You have birthed such a beautiful baby boy, look!" The midwife had cried out happily and she teared up, looking at the dark skinned small bundle of joy, who was crying, covered in a thick blanket.
Suddenly her eyes were dazzled by the effect of a bright light, and she closed her eyes in between. She slowly opened one eye and looked up, and was stunned. The huge silhouette of a man with four arms holding different things stood in front of her, as she looked wide eyed at the huge silhouette in front of her, and then slowly looked at the baby.
Suddenly it clicked her...

Diwali
Summary: First Diwali of you and ram.
"Why are you still in your clothes?" A voice boomed from the door, and by the tone, it was a very angry wife of mine. Although I wanted to cross question her, "why don't you take them off?", I knew better and did not utter a word. Maybe we'll do that later tonight anyways. I jumped off the chair in a second and scurried to the bathroom, towel in hand. It's Diwali today. From four in the morning, we have set the fairy lights, spotting dragon flies, then packed the sweets y/n made in the past two days, deep cleaned our house, went to market for last moment shopping, and decorated our house with diya and rangoli. The amount of tea cups lining the sink said enough about our hardwork today. It was around 4 in the evening now, and y/n needed me to get bathed soon so I can go to the temple for an early Pooja, as she sets up the Pooja at our home.
The bath was shivering and cold- November not letting us breath with warmth. Stepping out of the bath, a red kurta and white dhoti with a red lining on it caught my eye. Someone did Diwali shopping for me. And it's shy to say, but the warmth she gives deter a hundred Novembers.
Quickly getting ready, I combed my hair. The red on my cheeks matched one of my clothes, and it was visible in the mirror, hope my wife doesn't catch it. It was almost 4:30, and I knew that if I don't leave now, it's going to be a screaming match. Finding y/n, I saw her in her homely saree with wet hair tied in a towel lock, carrying everything needed to the Pooja in our home. "Get ready first, I'll help you with this when I come back".
She turned around to my voice, the golden skin from sandalwood shining with the golden mangalsutra in orange sunlight. A tint of pink on her cheeks too when she checked me out, up and down. I had to turn around and leave, so she didn't catch me blushing.
It was almost the muhrat of Pooja when I stepped in our home. The sun has started to set and the area was lit up by blinking fairy lights. Blasts of firecrackers were easily heard throughout. I saw our home with white and yellow alternate lights too. Upon entering, Y/n was nowhere to be found near the Pooja, but it was all set and decorated.
Looking for y/n, I realised that I haven't given her Diwali gift- a blue chiffon saree I picked out for her, and that it's our first Diwali together. I called out for her, as she made her way out from our room in a pink saree. Her hair was open and air drying. It was given to her by her family, and she has already worn this twice now.
"Why aren't you wearing anything new?" I led her into the room again opening the side of the cupboard which was reserved for my official clothes. "This is new" she muttered, putting Kohl lines in her eyes. I pulled out the transparent bag which held a beautiful blue saree, laced with white embroidery and deep red design. Her brown eyes caught the sight of it, a breath caught in her throat. She looked expectantly at me. A smile from me was enough for her to pull it from me and rush inside.
About 15 minutes later, y/n came out looking like an apsara. The baby blue insinuated her already pink face. She twirled around giggling. "Do I look good?" I nodded, leaning on the bed frame. It felt good, to see her happy. The childish joy in her eyes and soft smile on her lips. Gazing at her lovingly, it took me a while to realize she wasn't smiling anymore. "We are getting late for Pooja!"
The Pooja went well. We sat down after it, tired from running around the house all day. Busy eating home made sweets, I almost lost the soft touches of her on the saree, her fingertips barely touching the design. She looked content. And that was enough for me to remember how our first Diwali went.

This is kind of niche, but,
Being raised as a Hindu “girl” in India (although they misdiagnosed me🤕, I am actually genderfluid), the Durga Ashtami kanya pooja did NOTHING but fuel my God complex. It made so much sense to me that people wanted to wash my feet, take my blessings, feed me and then pay ME for eating what they made. It all just made sense to me. In retrospect, I think that’s where I should’ve started to suspect that I was not _normal_

This Chaitra Navratri get your wishes fulfilled by this Pooja Vidhi!
Indians celebrate Navratri in October for nine nights. Traditional Navratri has four seasons. After the monsoon, people celebrate Shardiya Navratri, honouring the Divine Feminine Devi. Ghatasthapana and Sandhi Puja are the most common Shardiya Navratri muhurat. At Shardiya Navratri, Hindus undertake Ghatasthapana and Sandhi Puja, making Chaitra Navratri 2023 noteworthy.
Know about the importance of Chaitra Navratri festival. Get an online astrology consultation by the world-renowned Astrologer Mr. Alok Khandelwal.
Vasanta Navratri praises the divine Devi (Durga). Navratri devotees adore Durga in her 9 incarnations. Vasanta, meaning spring, is the Sanskrit word for this Navratri. It takes place during the lunar month of Chaitra (March–April, post-winter). Some regions celebrate after spring and others after harvest. As per the Vikram Samvat calendar, it is also the Hindu New Year.
Chaitra Navratri 2023: Pujas to perform
Chaitra Navratri is celebrated to praise Maa Durga in her 9 celestial manifestations, find oneself, meditate, and be happy. Ghatasthapana Vidhi often referred to as Kalash Sthapana, is the placement of the sacred Puja pot. Chaitra Navratri 2023 Ghatasthapana Muhurat is 06:23–07:32 AM.
Chaitra Navratri significance
Chaitra Navratri celebrates the Hindu goddess Durga, the ultimate feminine form. Shakti is the universe’s strongest feminine energy. Hindus revere this day. Navratri Puja gives prosperity. Nonetheless, devotees of Goddess Durga must follow her precepts. Cleanliness, Aarti, Ghatasthapana, and grain-free fasting are examples.
In the Ramayana, Lord Rama worshipped Goddess Durga at Chaitra. This worship supposedly helped him overcome Ravana. Chaitra Navratri is celebrated lavishly across India, especially in the northern states of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Uttarakhand. Maharashtra celebrates Gudi Padwa whereas Andhra Pradesh celebrates Ugadi.
Kalash Sthapana puja rituals
Chaitra Navratri begins in March or April. Most individuals practise Kalash Sthapana puja at home or work. Navratri’s Ghatasthapana is important. Celebrations begin. The festivities begin with the Ghatasthapana. Ghatasthapana involves sowing barley seeds in a holy water-filled Kalash. Kalash installation is ideal on the 1st day of Navratri.
Get up and shower first thing in the morning.
After washing the idols, clean the Kalash storage area.
Next, recite Lord Ganesha’s mantras and cover a wooden seat with a red cloth and raw grains.
Add some water to the Kalash and place it on the ground.
Make a swastika on the Kalash with vermillion paste and tie a holy string to its neck.
Put mango leaves, betel nuts, and money in the Kalash.
Wrap a coconut in crimson Chunari and holy thread. Place this coconut on the Kalash and pray to the all-powerful Lord.
Pay respect with flowers to the gods.
Many people have faith that performing the Kalash Sthapana puja will bring us better fortune and health.

Chaitra Navratri 2023 Muhurat
Muhurta-wise, the 3rd day of the current Pratipada (24 minutes) may be best for Ghatasthapana. The ritual can be performed during the Abhijit Muhurta if one passes the deadline.
The Abhijit Muhurat is lucky for Chaitra Navratri 2023. It is the eighth of 15 Muhurats between sunrise and sunset. The Abhijit Muhurat is the centre of the 15 equal segments of dawn-to-dusk time. Many think that the muhurta can eradicate many karma doshas and is the best time to start good things.
Brahma Muhurta
Ghatasthapana requires Choghadiya (Muhurat). Ghatasthapana texts advise against Choghadiya Muhurat. Ghatasthapana may be lucky if the Dwi-Swabhav Lagna Kanya controls Shardiya Navratri morning. Ghatasthapana is prohibited after sixteen Ghatis before sunrise, night, or afternoon.
Chaitra Navratri 2023 rituals
Devi devotees seek salvation or moksha. That requires some preparation.
The holy pot is the most important part of the first day and represents the cosmos. It’s stored in a pious corner to bless the house.
Akand Jyot, or Navratri light, symbolises family peace (everlasting flame). So, the Navratri puja must begin with a ghee light. Followers are happier and your house is less negative.
Navratri barley seeds are planted at home. Its initial crop was barley. Spring crops include barley. Hence, it is also served during the Navratri puja havan.
The Durga Saptashati has multiple interpretations. It represents peace, wealth, and abundance.
The most auspicious Navratri activity is reading and chanting the Durga Saptashati.
Worshipping the Holy Mother includes Kanya Pujan. Flowers, cardamom, fruits, betel nuts, sweets, apparel, ornamental items, and food—especially halwa, black gramme, and poori—are typical gifts.

Nav Varsh Abhinandan
The beautiful Spring season is here and the Chaitra Navratri shall follow soon. The new leaves, buds and flowers signify new life, new beginnings, prosperity and renewed hope! Our ancients calculated the new year from the auspicious Chaitra month. On 22 March, 1957, the Gregorian calendar was adopted for official purposes. 22 March, 2023 of the Gregorian calendar marks the beginning of the Vikrami Samvat 2080.
(The image above shows 12 Pictures of The Sun, Each Month, Same Place, Same Time. Photo by Ciro Russo)
Lord Brahma started creating the universe on the first day of the Chaitra Navratri. Jau (barley) was the first crop to be cultivated then. We sow Jau and grow Khetri in reverence of this crop and then offer it back to Mother Nature. King Vikramaditya was coronated King on this day. The Vikrami Samvat or the Hindu calendar is named after him.
Navratri literally means nine nights. These nights are symbolic of the darkness of ignorance. The purpose of celebrating Navratri is to enable humans to overcome this darkness. When we worship the Devi or the Mother Goddess, she is the unified form of Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati. These three forms together form Shakti (power). This Shakti is the energy that is emanant in Nature and the Lord himself controls it. The ninth day of the Chaitra Navratri is Ram Navami. This marks the birthday and the coronation of Bhagwan Rama.
The feminine aspect of Divinity is worshipped in Navratri. Sri Sathya Sai Baba says that the word Stree is made up of- Sa, Ta and Ra. Sa signifies Sattvic, Ta signifies Tamasic and Ra signifies the Rajasic nature of women. Stree thus represents the combination of the three gunas. You can judge a house by the Greh-Lakhmi (lady of the house), she represents the ‘everything’ of the house. The Vedas declare that where women are honoured, there divinity is present with all its potency. We worship five kinds of mothers. Firstly, we worship the Deha-Mata. She is the one who bore us for nine months and gave us the gift of life. Secondly, we worship the Gau-Mata. The cow is given the exalted position of a mother because she sustains us by converting her blood into milk. Thirdly, we revere the Bhu-Mata or Mother Earth. She is the one, on whom we are dependant for everything like shelter, water, food etc. Fourthly, we revere the Desh-Mata. Our country gives us protection, rights and the support system of society. Indians are perhaps the only people who revere the country as Mother India. Fifthly, we revere the Veda-Mata. We revere the Vedas as our heritage and as spiritual treasures. They tell us the purpose of life and guide us on the path of self-realisation.
For those who are not spiritually inclined, I would say that Navaratri is a time to revere nature and offer thanksgiving for all that nature has bestowed us with. Resources like the Earth, air, water, minerals, oils etc. should not be wasted or misused. It is important to conserve the environment for the generations to come.
Scientifically speaking, the Chaitra Navratri is placed at the intersection of winter and summer. The body needs to detox at this time to adjust itself for the upcoming summer season. And that is exactly why Navratri fasting is recommended. You can have fruits and nuts along with one meal of alternate grains (no cereals like wheat, rice etc.). Navratri foods include Kuttu ka atta, Swaank ke chawal, Singhaare ka aata, etc. And you cook with Rock salt which is an excellent detoxifying agent. But remember that a fast is a fast, as long as you don’t convert it into a feast!
So let’s do Devi Pooja in Navratri and revere the Mother Goddess in her beautiful Nav-Durga form. And while doing Devi-Poojan and Kanya-Poojan, do extend the respect to all the living goddesses around you … your mother, wife, sister, daughter, daughter-in-law and just any girl out there! Happy Navratri!

Okayyyy! As promised I am here to bug you with E&P's wedding questions. (Sorry for the delay though, had a shitty day)
What are the ceremonies they have both pre, post and the main wedding.
What does Pooja wear? Do you have pics? 🙈
Does Ethan try and learn all about her culture before the wedding?
How many days does their wedding last (both ceremonies combined)
Where did they go for their honeymoon and who picked the place?
That's all for now but I'll come back with more later for one of my favourite ships in the fandom. 💜
Sruti, thank you so damn much for these❤ (I feel like their wedding planner opening my Manila folder to answer the questions😆)
What are the ceremonies they have both pre, post and the main wedding.
I am talking about the Bengali wedding here because I haven't really chalked out the details for their American one.
Before the wedding day: There is Ashirbaad, Sangeet, Mehendi and the Ai buro bhaat. Also the Shakha-Pola wearing ceremony.
Wedding morning: Starts with dodhi mongola, followed by gaye holud (also, tatta incoming🎁!)
Main wedding ceremony: Every ritual of the traditional Bengali wedding is followed. Starting from Bor Boron, there is Shubho Drishti, Mala Bodol, Sampradan or Kanya Daan, Yajna, Saptapadi, Anjali and lastly the Sindoor Daan.
Post wedding rituals: Bashor Jagga, The Bidai, Bodhu Boron & Grih Pravesh. Then the games and the Kal Ratri. The next day, there is Muh Dhikai, Bhaat Kapor and the Bou Bhaat. In the evening there is the big fat reception (more tatta incoming🛍!), followed by the *ahem* Phool Sojja.
What does Pooja wear? Do you have pics? 🙈
I do💕! For the main Bengali wedding ceremony, she wears a yellow lehenga or a pink and yellow lehenga (she had decided quite early that she didn't want a red attire for the day, even if she likes the color)
For the American wedding, I haven't really made up my mind but currently I think this one:
Does Ethan try and learn all about her culture before the wedding?
Yes, he does💕. He has always been fascinated in learning about new cultures, and since India is such an amalgamation of numerous vibrant and vivid cultures, it has always occupied his interest. Pooja is a person who values both sides of her cultural, the Bengali and the Madhya Pradheshi, so when Ethan tries to understand the significance of the various rituals during and prior to the wedding, as well as his awestruck face on hearing her sing the Hindustani classical music, she is over the moon with joy.
How many days does their wedding last (both ceremonies combined)
The first wedding, the American one, lasts for a day. After which they fly straight to India, where a week long ceremony follows. Though three out of seven days are not really hectic so they get enough rest to prepare for the actual ceremony and busy rituals. So in total, around 8 to 9 days (😅)
Where did they go for their honeymoon and who picked the place?
They went to Venice and then to Finland. Pooja is a mountain person so she picked Finland, while Ethan wanted to go to someplace warmer so he picked Venice (also because it had been on both of their bucket lists since long)
Once again, thank you so much for these Sruti, I had so much fun answering this questions❤ And also, I am so touched that E&P are one your favorite ships😭 E&M are my mine, I stan them and I cannot wait to learn more about them and their relationship❤

Navratri - A Time For Spiritual Cleansing
It happens very rarely when we get a chance to connect our body to the soul. Navratri is a very auspicious time of the year and marks the beginning of the festival season. All the rituals designed for the festival are a great way to clear the human body and mind of all negativity. It is often said, what we eat reflects greatly on our personality. After a whole year of unhealthy eating, Navratri gives us a chance to cleanse our body of all impurities and toxins. As the name itself suggests, during Navratri, the nine pure and virtuous forms of Durga are worshipped for nine days. The Navratri puja vidhi also includes fasting or the Navratri vrat. The kanjak puja or the kanya pujan in Navratri also means to worship the purest form of Durga by offering them meals and doing pooja. The eloquent Navratri puja that goes on for nine days, fills the soul with positivity. The body and mind have a deep connection and during this time, both are at peace. This year Chaitra Navratri 2021 begins on the 7th of October 2021, make sure you do not miss this opportunity to heal.
Here are a few ways how Navratri leaves a positive impact on your life.
1- Proper meals.
The normal flour is usually replaced by the Amarnath atta, kuttu ka atta packets that suddenly become popular in the Indian supermarkets during the festive season and can be put to various uses. But make sure to not cook pooris out of it. Much healthier alternatives to the commonly consumed pooris or paranthas are dosa and uttapam. You can also use sabudana in place of the usual singhara atta for diversity. Eating less oily food helps clear your skin and gives it a festive glow.
2- Healthy snacking
The best way to replace your everyday snacks is to have fruits instead. It is advisable to have at least 3-5 fruits per day during your vrat. You may customize your fruits by making a salad out of them or adding some condiments or lemon to it. Fruits are a great way to clear your body of toxic substances and keep yourself hydrated or energized for your Navratri garba and other rituals.
3- Power of dry fruits
Dry fruits are often considered a powerhouse or a great source of various vitamins and minerals. Not only this, but they also have a plethora of health benefits. However, eating the correct quantity is very essential. Overeating can also harm your body in ways. 4- Better alternatives
Another way to live healthier this Navratri is to switch your sugar. You can always use jaggery or honey rather than the normally processed sugar. Spices such as black pepper powder, cumin, cinnamon are a powerhouse of antioxidants and protective foods. They add health and taste to food as well as aiding indigestion.
5- Break your fast with something healthy and light
Many of us usually follow the pattern of having one meal per day. So it is necessary that you try to break your fast with some fresh fruits or nuts like almonds, pistachios, cashews, walnuts, etc. This helps keep your body energized to get you through the day. Just because you have fasted through the day doesn't mean that you eat through the night. Now you can find the best quality nuts from Made By Farmer on the online supermarket of Rozana. Prefer a light meal with vegetables, dahi, and some cereal grains. Quinoa can be used as a salad on the side. Use milk or a light samai kheer for a bedtime snack. This will help keep you light and keep your digestion in top shape.
6. Hydration hype
No matter how much you eat, the body needs to be kept hydrated. With all the excitement and pooja happening around us, we usually forget to drink adequate fluids. Low-calorie fluids like fresh lemon water, for its Vitamin C, and coconut water with its sodium, potassium, and calcium, rehydrate and cleanse. Green tea is a rich source of catechin, a strong antioxidant, making it a perfect drink to detox. Fresh fruit and vegetable juices preferably help you ace the antioxidant quotient of the day. You can drink papaya muskmelon juice, grape juice, orange juice, or tomato juice. And then of course water, the major element.
It can often get very stressful to cope up with the pooja, the shopping, and work-life altogether during the festival season. You may not find the time to relax, but now, you can skip going to supermarkets or grocery stores. The online grocery store of Rozana.in gives you an opportunity to buy online grocery.
